You’ll remember the scene as the one where the Mandarin’s helicopters rained missiles down on Tony Stark’s Malibu mansion while he, Pepper Potts, and Maya Hansen were inside, leading to a daring and creative stunt with the suit in order to survive. It’s worth noting that Maya is absent from this animatic, probably because she was added to the scene after this early concept work was complete.

“I met with Shane Black very early during pre-production to discuss this scene. Even in the early stages, the sequence seemed gargantuan. So much needed to happen in a relatively short amount of time, and I knew that this would be my most challenging animatic yet. The beauty of the way Shane works is that he’s not only a brilliant storyteller but he’s very open to other ideas, and during my time on the show he trusted me as a creative collaborator. I wanted to reward the freedom he gave me and that led to some of my best work I’ve done for Marvel yet. After a few story meetings with Shane where we hashed out a lot of beats together, he gave me control of the scene and I went to work figuring out how to turn this sequence into a visual spectacle.”

Hitting theaters in 3D, 2D and IMAX on June 14, the action adventure stars Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Michael Shannon, Kevin Costner, Diane Lane, Laurence Fishburne, Antje Traue, Ayelet Zurer, Christopher Meloni, Russell Crowe, Michael Kelly, Harry Lennix and Richard Schiff.

In Man of Steel, a young boy learns that he has extraordinary powers and is not of this Earth. As a young man, he journeys to discover where he came from and what he was sent here to do. But the hero in him must emerge if he is to save the world from annihilation and become the symbol of hope for all mankind.

In the film Saoirse Ronan stars as Eleanor, a vampire who lives with her mother Clara (Gemma Arterton). When the two of them are on the run and discover a quiet coastal town, Eleanor meets and befriends a young boy named Frank (Caleb Landry Jones), but makes the terrible mistake of telling him her darkest secret. Moria Buffini, whose previous credits include the acclaimed Cary Fukunaga-directed adaptation of Jane Eyre and Stephen Frears’ 2010 dramedy Tamara Drewe (which also starred Arterton), wrote the screenplay.

Look for it in theaters in the United States on June 28th.

The feature adaptation of the popular sci-fi novel is directed by Gavin Hood, and is set in the future when humanity is at war with an alien race and new strategy is employed using the best and brightest children trained to fight in the battle.

Ford portrays Graff, a the stern but not uncaring colonel, who’s keeping a close eye on Butterfield’s Ender, one of the gifted children recruited by the International Fleet to prepare for the approaching war. Training includes getting suited up and sent into a zero-gravity Battle Room where the kids zap (or technically freeze) one another with flash guns.

In addition to Butterfield and Ford, the cast includes Hailee Steinfeld, Aramis Knight, Abigail Breslin, Viola Davis and Ben Kingsley. Ender’s Game won’t arrive in theaters until November 1.
