We put it on .com first to get the maximum amount of testing in, especially for browser issues. Since people who test betas and RCs on .org tend to be bleeding edge users, we seldom get reports about things like IE6 or smaller screen resolutions.

Before the election, we were more concerned about getting Obama elected. Everything else like Prop 8 (or the Florida version, Amendment 2) was secondary to that, with all of our energy spent getting the vote out for Obama.
