You go for decades without even thinking of the place. The Great White North. Very polite people, somewhat Scottish, seems like. There’s poutine! Une invention Québécoise — an indigestible mélange of French fries, gravy, and cheese curds, like something you’d cook up at 4am after a toga party in a frat house. Ice hockey (of course, but was it necessary?) Polar bears. Puffins on the Labrador cliffs. Tar Sands. Plaid upholstery . . . .

Years ago, we used to go up there from college in the farthest reaches of upstate western New York just to get a half-fake buzz of being in “a foreign country.” Niagara Falls was like Times Square without the charm. Bunch of squalid wax museums and ashtray shoppes. Toronto was Rochester on steroids, beyond forgettable.

I once took a choo-choo train from Seattle to Vancouver just to take in the scenery along the Pacific Coast. Bald eagles galore all the way up feeding on stuff out in the Pacific tidal mud-flats. Got to Vancouver. They yanked me out of the customs line and stuffed me in a back office. A female immigration officer swaggered in, said they found a nine-year-old DUI conviction for me on some computer (well. . .. okay. . . a night of fishing with rum). Said she could keep me out of the country if she was in a bad mood. I couldn’t help wising off: “Nice to know Canadian immigration policy depends on your mood.” Whoops. They detained me for an extra two hours just to make me feel the pain. But I was eventually released into that boring city. Thank God for the Chinese restaurants.

And now. . . Mark Carney! He’s a beauty. A refined ectoplasmic manifestation of all the Globalist huggermugger working tirelessly to upend Western Civ. He has a weird glow of semi-transparency — not in the sense of revealing any truths, but more like you can partly see through him . . . he’s only half there . . . a ghost in the geopolitical machine.

More to the point, Mark Carney has made himself a pain-in-the-ass for President Donald Trump. On the surface, this US / Canada rift appears to be all about trade relations. Naw. It’s about Mark Carney being a tool for merry old England attempting to capture the resource base of northern North America to collateralize what little remains of the UK’s once-sprawling, now sinking, empire. England is not so merry these days. It has somehow managed to issue a fatwa on itself and entered a gruesome process of assisted economic and cultural suicide. You can’t even raise a British flag there anymore without risking weeks in the slammer. The home folks get stabbed and beheaded. It’s all blight, rape, kebabs, and hijabs over there. Not a good look if you still want to be that country you dimly remember.

Plus, they want to kick off a big war with Russia. Bwa-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha! Really? Lacking much of a military, Ukraine was Britain’s tool for that. Trouble was the huge expense of that project. Thought they could work-around it by turning Ukraine into a money-laundry, washing, rinsing, and disbursing US-sourced funds to Mr. Zelenskyy, with giant kickbacks to the Democratic Party’s money apparatus. Worked nicely when the phantom “Joe Biden” haunted the White House. He and his sicko son, Hunter, were already in so deep in Ukraine since JB’s felonious veepdom that Mark Carney — then chief of the Bank of England — could hang the Bidens out to dry anytime, if required.

Lo, these many years, then, Britain and NATO have sponsored all that drone-making and missile-launching action from Ukraine deep into Russia — in case you wonder how Zelenskyy carries on this stupid war, considering there are no young men left in Ukraine eligible to reinforce the battle lines in Donbas. Britain and NATO probably also furnish the satellite targeting of Russian assets. You must doubt that the USA is involved in that anymore. Luckily, Mr. Putin has the Christian patience of a true saint.

Our president is sick of Ukraine and the festering geopolitical disease it has been infected with by our increasingly-former allies in Europe. NATO’s aim with Russia is exactly the same as Britain’s push in Canada — a resource grab for the failing nations of Europe, who are getting choked to death by Ursula von der Leyen and her EU flying monkeys. Germany, France, the Netherlands, Italy, Spain. . . all whirling around the drain. Our president sees all that. (You don’t need magic glasses.)

Maybe it’s time to just send the 82nd Airborne into Ottawa. Flight time: under two hours from Fort Bragg, NC. Drop them on Parliament Hill. Let them hang around a few hours. Then, declare the whole thing a gag and fly them home. It’d be worth it. Or maybe go in and snatch Mark Carney like we did Maduro. Stuff Carney in an adjoining cell at the MDC in Brooklyn. I’m sure the two could amuse each other, swap satisfying gripes and sob stories.

Really, why stop at just re-naming Lake Ontario. Take the whole darn thing like a pie that has been left on the windowsill too long. The Canadian people would get over it five minutes. Everything is easier in the USA. Running a company, especially. They could keep their poutine and their hockey, learn to have a little fun once in a while. Quebec could become a theme park (what else have they got going there?). No more tariffs to get hung about. Honk if you like the idea.

We are living through such an arrogant era in which too many people “know” preposterous things: Biological sex isn’t real. Muslims built America. Math is racist. Iran is defeating the United States. Joe Biden is “sharp as a tack.” President Trump is a Russian spy. People are certain that “their” side is right and the “other” side is wrong. There is not a lot of humility in the world today. But, as we see during the LGBTQIA+ community’s various bacchanalia each year, there is a glut of personal pride.

When I encounter people who “know everything,” I like to remind them how wrong some of the smartest people over the last century have proved to be. During a guest lecture at the University of Munich in 1924, theoretical physicist Max Planck recounted a conversation he had with his mentor, Philipp von Jolly, fifty years earlier. After Planck inquired about pursuing a career in physics, Jolly discouraged his young student from doing so, telling him that nearly everything in the field of physics had already been discovered, with little left to do aside from a few final measurements. Planck went on to win a Nobel Prize for discovering energy quanta — revolutionizing theoretical physics and our understanding of atomic particles, while setting the stage for Albert Einstein’s special theory of relativity regarding space and time. At the turn of the twentieth century, plenty of physicists believed they knew almost everything; quantum mechanics and general relativity proved they knew almost nothing.

In 1919, most astronomers believed that our Milky Way Galaxy comprised the whole universe, that the size of the universe was roughly 300,000 light years across, and that the universe was infinitely old and unchanging. A hundred years later, astronomers estimate the observable universe to be ninety-four billion light years across and 13.7 billion years old. Ten years ago, astronomers adjusted the estimated number of galaxies in the universe from a hundred billion to at least two trillion. And the James Webb Space Telescope has pushed this number to as high as twenty trillion. Even that number is likely to rise. When our understanding of the size of the universe has gone from one galaxy to tens of trillions in a single century, should we not approach competing points of view with a little more open-mindedness? Does it not seem foolishly arrogant of people such as Barack Obama, Al Gore, John Kerry, and Mark Carney to claim that the “science” of “global warming” is “settled”?

It is important to acknowledge just how little we know about our world. It is important to remember that we have redefined fundamental parts of our physical reality within our own lifetimes. It is important to recognize that even the most universally accepted paradigms have been toppled and replaced.

If our understanding of physics and cosmology can be upended in a few decades, why would we expect the social sciences of politics, economics, and sociology to be more constant? Why would we expect political pundits to have an accurate grasp of the future? Why would we assume that population growth is an existential threat, that sentient robots will replace humans, that debt bombs will impoverish us, or that nuclear bombs will end us? In other words, why do we always assume the end is near?

Our generation is not the first to fear the future nor will it be the last. A thousand years ago, at the turn of the first millennium, there were plenty of people who expected the apocalypse. Instead, their descendants experienced the Renaissance, the Scientific Revolution, the Enlightenment, and the Industrial Revolution. The second millennium started with the fake threat of Y2K and the real threat of 9/11 and has continued lurching toward economic, military, technological, and political powder kegs ever since. Twenty-six years of impending doom have had an effect on the world’s collective psyche. Right now there is a dearth of optimism. Although standards of living, lifespans, and the proliferation of luxury comforts have never been higher, people talk about today as if it were the Great Depression.

Almost all of America’s leaders have failed to live up to this century’s challenges. George Bush encouraged us to fight Islamic terrorists “over there” so that we wouldn’t have to fight them “over here”; now we’ve got super-mosques, loudspeakers in major towns calling Muslims to prayer, and apologists for Islamic rapists and murderers running for high office or already serving in Congress. Barack Obama may have sold “hope and change” to the public in his run for the presidency, but then he went on a worldwide America-bashing apology tour, dismissed the idea that there was anything “exceptional” about our country, pitted black and white Americans against each other, destroyed healthcare with government mandates, and used the USA PATRIOT Act to spy on his political enemies.

Most other prominent political leaders have used the first quarter of the new century to break bad news to the American people. “The borders can’t be properly secured,” they say. “Blue-collar jobs are never coming back home,” they insist. “Global warming is killing the planet,” they claim. “Racist cops are killing black people,” they argue. Bad news rains down on us every day (especially if you watch CNN or read The New York Times). On the Democrat side of the aisle, patriotism has been wholly rejected and replaced with a litany of anti-American refrains: America is imperialist, colonialist, racist, white supremacist, Islamophobic, transphobic, patriarchal, and whatever new insults Hakeem Jeffries and Chuck Schumer’s America-hating, communist party devises next.

When was the last time you heard any global prognosticator speak of America’s future as anything other than one of certain decline?

Perhaps that’s why President Trump appeals to so many Americans. He has been the only consistently positive leader declaring this “America’s century.” While other political leaders — Democrats and Republicans — have spent the first twenty-six years of the new millennium making excuses for why our borders can’t be secured, why our industrial towns can’t be rebuilt, and why violent crime is the “new normal,” President Trump has secured the border, brought American manufacturing back to life, and cut murder and other violent crime rates across the country more sharply than any time since 1900. Those are astounding accomplishments in a short amount of time, but you won’t hear them being discussed on CNN or NPR. Nor will you hear about all the different ways President Trump has strengthened the security and economic future of the Western Hemisphere by waging war against international drug cartels, promoting hemispheric self-sufficiency, and methodically eliminating the influences of China, Russia, and Iran. Nor will you hear about the ways President Trump is deconstructing Islamic terrorism’s chokehold over energy resources in the Middle East. You certainly won’t hear how tariffs are forcing once-offshored companies to reinvest in the United States. Nor will you hear that inflation continues to sink, while wages continue to rise — exactly the opposite of Wall Street pundits’ predictions.

You won’t hear any of this positive news because the whole globalist Establishment — the bought-and-paid-for politicians, the multinational investment firm behemoths, the Wall Street and City of London make-nothing vultures, and the corporate news propaganda syndicate — are invested in a future of World Economic Forum oligarchy, Chinese communism, “climate change” totalitarianism, and steady American decline. These parasites intend to discourage you. They intend to exacerbate social conflicts, undermine American influence, disparage American history, mock American greatness, and make you feel weak.

President Trump is leading America back to the moon. We’re going to Mars. Whatever else AI turns out to be, it will have an American accent. The White House has spent all year celebrating Freedom 250 because it wishes for Americans to remember and embrace their history. The loudest pundits know nothing. The revolution is here. This is the American century.

Aug 23 to Aug 29 White House Actions Summary By Cabinet Department, FLOTUS, SLOTUS, Anniversaries, And More

Did you know that the President's Cabinet is the principal official advisory body to the President of the United States? That the President is NOT a member of the Cabinet, he is the person to whom the Cabinet reports with advice, reports, and suggestions? And every single appointed member of the Cabinet can be removed at the whim of the President?

The Cabinet's role is inferred from Article II, Section 2, Clause 1 of the US Constitution (discussed in my October 7, 2025 ANP Article) which states:

The President shall be Commander in Chief of the Army and Navy of the United States, and of the Militia of the several States, when called into the actual Service of the United States; he may require the Opinion, in writing, of the principal Officer in each of the executive Departments, upon any Subject relating to the Duties of their respective Offices, and he shall have Power to grant Reprieves and Pardons for Offences against the United States, except in Cases of Impeachment.

The Cabinet is comprised of the heads of the various departments who sit near the President based on when their department was added to the Cabinet: VP, Secretary of State, Secretary of the Treasury, Secretary of War, Department of Justice Attorney General, Secretary of the Interior, Secretary of Agriculture, Secretary of Commerce, Secretary of Labor, Secretary of Health & Human Services, Secretary of Housing & Urban Development, Secretary of Transportation, Secretary of Energy, Secretary of Education, Secretary of Veterans Affairs, Secretary of Homeland Security, Trade Representative, Director of the Office of Management & Budget, Administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency, Administrator of the Small Business Association, and White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles. The Vice President is a member of the Cabinet by law but he has no control over the Cabinet.

Department heads are confirmed by the Senate and acting heads may participate in Cabinet meetings. Department heads have full administrative control over their department but follow the guidance and direction of the President. The Cabinet has 23 members: the VP, 15 Department heads, and 7 Cabinet-level officials of which all but 2 are confirmed by the Senate.

These members serve at the pleasure of the President. They can be removed for any reason without Senate approval. (How this applies to the elimination of an entire Department I am unsure; however, President Trump has already set a goal of removing the entire Department of Education by the end of his 2nd term.) These department heads are subject to impeachment by the Senate for the same reasons as the President: treason, bribery, or other high crimes and misdemeanors. In addition to these members, the President can also create committees or task forces for specific purposes and assign multiple department heads to participate in the committee or task force.

Every Presidential Action (Executive Orders, Proclamations, and other Presidential Actions) taken will apply to one or more of these Department heads or Cabinet-level officials; however, there will usually be one primary Department head assigned to take the lead on the various actions. However, in President Trump's Cabinet, these officials often work jointly on whole-of-government actions to implement the policies of the Trump Administration.

I have been searching for a method to organize these weekly summaries of what is happening at the White House and have decided to try organizing these actions by the Cabinet member who is responsible for fulfilling the action, in alphabetical order by department. Just a note, not every department will have Presidential Actions to report, so only those with Presidential Actions will be reported. Please let me know what you think of this method of organization.

For this first use of the new format, I will endeavor to find something each cabinet member has done this week to implement the Trump Policies that We The People voted to have done. In the future, only White House and Presidential Actions will make the summary.

On August 26, 2026, President Trump signed the Proclamation Further Ensuring Affordable Beef for the American Consumer which directs the Secretary of Agriculture to monitor the situation and alert the President when the TRQ needs to be adjusted based on domestic supply and consumer needs. The accompanying Fact Sheet President Donald J. Trump Further Ensures Affordable Beef for the American Consumer explains the purpose of the proclamation is to address the price of beef that has risen due to a shortage of beef in the US supply. This updated quota starts on September 1, 2026 and ends November 30, 2026 allowing an additional 100,000 tons per month of lean beef trimmings to be added to US ground beef and encourages sellers to reduce the price by 25% for consumers. This action is to offset the higher US demand for beef while the US beef market is in short supply due to autopen's actions that reduced domestic cattle herds to their lowest level in 75 years. President Trump is committed to lower prices for consumers while protecting US ranchers and farmers.

On August 25, 2026, the CIA Director made an in-person trip to Moscow to meet with President Putin about the "signals" that pointed towards President Putin's intentions to begin limited incursions into Europe and Mr. Ratcliffe was there to convince him to set that goal aside. However, something tells me his trip will be for naught. President Putin will do as he thinks best regardless of what the rest of the world (including the US) thinks (much like President Trump).

On August 28, 2026, a large blast near Kiev, Ukraine, is seen. Conspiracy Theorists abound with speculation about the relationship between Ratcliffe's visit to Moscow and the blast near Kiev.

On August 27, 2026, Secretary Lutnick spoke with the media about the withdrawal of Canada from trade negotiations for purely political reasons. The Secretary thinks after the Canadian election process is concluded, their trade negotiators will return to the table to resume talks on the trade agreement.

On August 27, 2026, the US AG spoke about his trip to Puerto Rico and the successful efforts to dismantle violent drug trafficking organizations based there. Why is he in Puerto Rico celebrating the "successful efforts" there when there is so much fraud, crime, & treason here in the US, and in Washington DC in particular, that needs to be investigated?

On August 24, 2026, the White House published the release President Trump Champions Educational Freedom — Putting Students and Parents First as he welcomed students, parents, and educational advocates to the White House to celebrate the expansion of educational freedom, restoration of parental rights, the return of the power to the states, and insuring US students are the center of all educational decisions. The release concludes:

President Trump’s agenda is clear and proven: educational freedom belongs to parents, excellence belongs in the classroom, and America’s children deserve schools free from ideology, waste, and federal overreach. As students return to class this fall, they do so under an Administration that has delivered historic results in record time.

After the celebration, President Trump took the students on an impromptu tour of the White House Ballroom construction site and introduced them to the construction workers.

On August 26, 2026, President Trump signed EO Declaring a National Emergency to Secure the United States Bulk-Power System directs the Secretary of Energy to consult with the Secretary of War, the Secretary of Homeland Security, the Director of National Intelligence, and other senior officials to implement this EO to secure US infrastructure from foreign interference. In other words, President Trump and his Cabinet want the US electric infrastructure to replace all foreign components with components made from trusted sources (my what an expense that will be and guess who will pay for these upgrades). The President writes:

NOW, THEREFORE, I, DONALD J. TRUMP, President of the United States of America, find that the situation with respect to the foreign supply of bulk-power system electric equipment constitutes an unusual and extraordinary threat, which has its source in whole or substantial part outside the United States, to the national security, foreign policy, and economy of the United States and hereby declare a national emergency with respect to that threat.

The accompanying Fact Sheet President Donald J. Trump Declares a National Emergency to Secure America’s Bulk-Power System explains there is a need to secure the US bulk-power system electric equipment from foreign interference and to prevent foreigners from crippling critical infrastructure. This EO also helps to secure the US critical supply chains upon which our national security and economic strength depend.

In September 2019, during the first Trump Administration, then EPA Administrator Andrew Wheeler set a goal of phasing out all mammalian animal testing by 2035.

On January 22, 2026, Administrator Zeldin authored the memorandum Recommitment to Reducing Animal Testing and Eliminating Mammalian Testing by 2035 in which he writes:

EPA under the Trump Administration will work to be at the forefront of developing and incorporating advances in NAMs into its scientific framework to ensure Agency assessments and scientific work uses high-quality, gold standard science.

On August 27, 2026, Administrator Zeldin announced unveiled two scientific advancements that will help eliminate animal testing:

Modernizing Surfactant Assessment: Surfactants are chemicals used widely in soaps, detergents, and cleaning products. EPA has updated its scientific framework to better predict how these specific formulas may irritate the lungs using 3D human airway tissue, providing science that is faster, more human relevant, and less dependent on animal testing—without compromising safety. This allows reviewers to safely estimate risks using existing digital models rather than ordering new animal studies.
Adopting GHS Mixture Standards: EPA will use an international, scientifically backed formula, the Globally Harmonized System (GHS) mixtures equation, to predict oral toxicity for some pesticides. This decision follows a comprehensive analysis—conducted with the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences—that evaluated nearly 700 pesticide formulations, which showed the mixtures equation can reliably identify products that are minimally toxic by the oral route. By using globally recognized, data-driven calculation formulas, the agency can accurately assess risks based on a mixture's known ingredients, eliminating the need to test the final blended product on animals.

On August 26, 2026, CONSTITUTION X announced Secretary Kennedy found $2.2 Trillion of US taxpayer funds were fraudulently paid over 4 million transactions in all 50 states and 5 territories. There were originally 80 people on the HHS anti-fraud team but Xavier Becerra and the Autopen Administration transferred 74 of them leaving only 6 people to watch for the fraud. Secretary Kennedy called this the CRIME OF THE CENTURY. And few people are talking about it!

On August 27, 2026, Secretary Kennedy corrected the announcement of 2 deaths because of measles by Governor Shapiro of Pennsylvania were totally fabricated. He likened the Shapiro announcement to the fraud committed during COVID where deaths WITH a condition identified as deaths CAUSED by a condition. Secretary Kennedy pointed out that the one infant was too young to even begin receiving any vaccines, much less the measles vaccine. He also calls out CNN's Dana Bash for inciting panic and accusing Secretary Kennedy of likely being responsible for a measles outbreak.

THERE IS NO MEASLES OUTBREAK!

However, it IS true that under the Autopen Administration (2021-2025) tens of millions of illegal aliens were released into the US with NO vaccines of any kind, including the COVID vaccine that was mandated (forced) upon US citizens.

This debacle has introduced the new CNN Communist News Network with Dana Bash whose job it is to BASH the truth!

On August 25, 2026, the Department of Homeland Security announced a new, permanent, interagency law enforcement task force called the Homeland security Task Force (HSTF) which was created by a Trump Executive Order 14288 Strengthening and Unleashing America's Law Enforcement To Pursue Criminals and Protect Innocent Citizens (discussed in my April 28, 2025 ANP Article) in which President Trump stated:

For the first time, law enforcement will have a permanent task force in every state and territory nationwide.

The goals of the task force are to

end the presence of criminal cartels, foreign gangs, and transnational criminal organizations throughout the United States, dismantle cross-border human smuggling and trafficking networks, end the scourge of human smuggling and trafficking, with a particular focus on such offenses involving children — across all 52 U.S. states and territories.

On August 27, 2026, HUD Secretary Turner announced that HUD would not fund a homeless industrial complex. The 2013 Housing First policy, which was called a continuum of care, is a total failure. HUD's current goal is first treatment progressing into self-sufficiency for the most vulnerable in our country.

On August 27, 2026, President Trump signed the EO Honoring the American History of the Great Lakes and Renaming Lake Ontario as Lake America which cites EO 14172 Restoring Names That Honor American Greatness signed January 20, 2025 (discussed in my January 20, 2026 ANP Article) as the policy being used to rename Lake Ontario as Lake America within 30 days of this EO. President Trump sees the US as caring for the lake more than Canada in that we provide 9 of the 11 ice breaking vessels keeping the shipping lanes open in winter. In addition, the US has invested almost $4 Billion to protect the Great Lakes ecosystem with Canada investing far less in the same time period. On August 28, 2026, President Trump, in a Truth Social post, announced that the US now has a trade agreement with Venezuela for oil. This deal was negotiated by Secretary Hegseth and Secretary of State Rubio with Interim President of Venezuela, Delcy Rodriguez. Using private businesses based in the US, this deal secures more than 65 billion barrels of oil which will double US oil reserves.

So when do gas prices drop? Well, President Trump is expected to meet on Tuesday with oil refining executives about bringing down the price of gas for the US consumer.

On August 27, 1776, Patriots fought at the Battle of Brooklyn (also known as the Battle of Long Island). The Patriots were defeated giving the British access to the Port of New York (which they would hold for the remainder of the war). A total of 20,000 British & Hesse-Kassel troops fought the 10,000 Patriots. On the British side, 64 were killed, 293 wounded, and 31 were reported as missing. On the Patriot side, 300 were killed, 800 wounded, and 1,079 were reported as captured or missing. The Patriots evacuated to Brooklyn Ferry while the rear guard kept fires burning to deceive the4 British. By 7am on August 30, 1776, Washington's remaining 9,000 troops all evacuated with no further loss of life. This battle taught the Patriots that victory would not come easy and the battle would be long and bloody. Yet the Patriots persisted fighting for their independence, freedom, and liberty as if their very lives depended upon their final victory.

On August 29, 1778, Patriots fought at the Battle of Rhode Island (also known as the Battle of Quaker Hill). A total of 6,700 British and Hesse-Kassel troops and 10,100 Patriots and French troops clashed. This was the first battle where the French joined the Patriots and, of course, the commanders of each the joint force tended to clash. On the British side, 38 were killed, 210 were wounded, and 12 were reported as missing. On the Patriot side, 30 were killed, 137 were wounded, and 44 were reported as missing. The Patriots made an orderly, unhurried withdrawal to Bristol and Tiverton leaving Rhode Island under British control. The site was ultimately abandoned by the British when the French fleet arrived to assist the Patriots.

‘Delete From The Deleted File’ — Fauci Tried To Destroy Gain-Of-Function Research Email, New Docs Reveal

Eight years before COVID emerged, a journalist issued a prophetic warning that risky viral research could usher in “doomsday” and damage the reputation of the National Institutes of Health (NIH). Anthony Fauci groused in an email to an aide about that warning, then instructed the aide to permanently delete the exchange, documents obtained by the Daily Caller News Foundation show.

The documents add to growing evidence that Fauci destroyed public records despite his sworn testimony that he never did. Deleting government records violates federal law.

Fauci did not respond to a request for comment.

In 2011, the advent of gain-of-function research — experiments that make viruses more infectious or deadly in the lab — caused its first major controversy. With funding from Fauci’s institute at the NIH, Dutch virologist Ron Fouchier had made an airborne strain of a bird flu with an estimated 50% fatality rate, which he described as “probably one of the most dangerous viruses you can make.”

Fauci and New York Times science writer Phil Boffey traded barbs in newspaper opinion pages about the work.

Manmade pandemic viruses are a “risk worth taking,” Fauci insisted in a December 2011 Washington Post editorial, because they could help drugmakers and public health get a jump start if they emerge in nature. NIH Director Francis Collins and National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases Vaccine Research Center Gary Nabel co-authored the op-ed.

The New York Times published an op-ed apparently written by Boffey in January 2012 arguing that NIH created an “engineered doomsday” that could kill “hundreds of millions of people.” The new emails reveal the author of the un-bylined op-ed for the first time.

“The consequences, should the virus escape, are too devastating to risk,” he said in an apparent reference to the title of Fauci’s op-ed.

Boffey wrote a follow-up in March 2012 titled “The Truth About the Doomsday Virus?” Under scrutiny from the press, Fouchier had backpedaled on his earlier statements about his virus’s lethality. Fauci meanwhile pushed to publish the Fouchier experiment despite biosecurity experts’ concerns the information could fall into the hands of a bioterrorist.

As the question marks suggests, Boffey was skeptical of Fouchier’s assurances. Experts who had read his initial description of the experiment said it stated the airborne virus remained as lethal as the natural one, he wrote.

One sentence really rattled Fauci: “Now, this country’s National Institutes of Health, which financed the research and has its own reputation on the line, is asking the [NSABB] to reconsider its call to redact details before publication.”

“Phil Boffey is really off base here,” Fauci wrote to Collins, on March 4, 2012. “He is acting like a mischievous guy.”

“Clearly, people are getting to Phil Boffey and he is swallowing it,” Fauci sounded off in a more candid email to a subordinate the next morning.

Fauci strongly opposed a recommendation from the NIH’s biosecurity advisors to not publish sensitive details about Fouchier’s experiment. He said that if the advisors did not change their recommendation “the field of research on influenza … has a serious problem.”

“Please delete this e-mail and then delete from the deleted file,” Fauci said on his NIH email in apparent violation of federal record-keeping laws.

Kentucky Republican Sen. Rand Paul highlighted two other instances of Fauci apparently seeking to delete public records in 2020, despite his sworn testimony before another committee in 2024 that he never did.

Fauci ultimately persuaded NIH’s biosecurity advisors to allow the Fouchier experiment to be published in full.

Boffey and Fouchier did not respond to a request for comment.

Fouchier And COVID’s Origins

When the COVID-19 pandemic emerged, Fouchier worked with Fauci and other virologists to downplay the possibility of a lab origin. Fouchier ghostwrote a key argument in “The proximal origin of SARS-CoV-2,” a paper dismissing a possible lab origin of COVID. Fauci would frequently cite the paper and its authors over the years without revealing he collaborated with them behind-the-scenes.

Yet privately the paper’s authors described Fouchier as “unbelievably conflicted.”

“Ron … is not going to want it to be a GOF [gain-of-function] escape,” one author said.

Indeed, Fouchier said he didn’t support publicly addressing the possibility of a lab leak in the “Proximal Origin” paper.

Fouchier said that it could lead to “harm to science” through renewed debates about biosafety.

“This manuscript would be much stronger if it focused on the likelihood of the first two scenarios as compared to intentional or accidental release,” Fouchier said. “That would also limit the chance of new biosafety discussions that would unnecessarily obstruct future attempts of virus culturing for research and diagnostic purposes for any (emerging/zoonotic) virus.”

What Do Trump Swing Voters From 2024 Want From Him Now Ahead Of Midterms?

Donald Trump built an unlikely coalition in 2016. In 2024, it only grew stronger. Now, with him off the ballot, the 2026 midterms will test whether it holds.

Trump’s 2024 base was the familiar one: white voters without college degrees, rural voters, men, and white evangelicals. But he also made real gains among low-propensity voters who usually sit out most election cycles, as well as Hispanic and black voters, younger men, and non-college voters more broadly. What held that coalition together, pollsters told the Daily Caller, was desperation: a demand for order and economic relief. That’s also what makes it fragile now, hinging on how fast Trump can wind down the Iran war, bring down gas prices, and unite a party still fighting over healthcare and data centers.

“It will be hard to motivate the non-propensity voters who turned out in 2024, because that is always the case,” Robert Cahaly, the founder of Trafalgar Group, told the Caller. “Trump will need to be heavily involved in the midterms if he wants to motivate those guys.”

The GOP has plenty of problems stacked against it heading into 2026. Domestic policy dominated the president’s first year back in office — cleaning up the border crisis, keeping men out of women’s sports — but foreign policy has defined the second. With U.S. troops fighting in the Middle East and prices climbing from the conflict, Trump’s job approval hit the lowest point of his second term on August 4, at 39 percent, according to the RealClearPolitics average.

“I think [the coalition] wants 2024 Trump back,” Mark Mitchell, founder of Honest Polling, told the Caller.

“What they voted for: mass deportations, draining the swamp, reductions in waste, fraud, abuse and election integrity. All these things are between 65 and 75 percent favorable. Like, they are all extremely popular,” he added. “They basically want order and economic fairness. Almost 60 percent of people say they’re changing their eating habits because of grocery prices.”

Messaging on the administration’s domestic accomplishments has proven difficult. One official working on the 2026 midterms previously told the Caller it had been a challenge to keep the party on message in recent months. Another GOP operative was more blunt: while Republicans are well positioned nationally, their candidates are still being significantly out-raised at the individual level.

While one party official told the Caller they expect the RNC midterm convention to be the moment that gets the GOP on the same page, team Trump has made a more aggressive push to redirect the party ahead of it.

Top Trumpworld officials — including James Blair, pollster Tony Fabrizio and Senate Leadership Fund executive director Alex Latcham — went to Capitol Hill in mid-August to advise Senate candidates to talk more about healthcare, according to Axios. Republicans held a 46-point advantage when they emphasized “more transparency around insurers’ profits, claim denials and wait times for patient care while hitting Democrats for lining insurers’ pockets,” Axios reported.

“I think there is some headway for the Trump administration to make on [healthcare messaging], and having people talk about that, because it lets Republicans talk about healthcare,” Cahaly told the Caller. “They can say, ‘Hey, [Obama] created a whole system that just basically let insurance companies make a huge profit.’”

Congressional stock trading and cracking down on fraud were other strong messaging topics for the GOP, according to the polling Axios reported. The vice president, who has become the administration’s top campaign surrogate, often leans on fraud messaging when making stops around the country.

Top Republicans are also trying to steer the party clear of a thornier issue: data centers. The National Republican Senatorial Committee issued a memo, obtained by Axios, to AI companies warning that in Ohio, Democrats have hurt Republicans by making opposition to data centers a central part of their campaign.

“If [Sen. Jon Husted] loses and data centers get the blame, politicians across the country will take notice — and they will not go near the next one. This has become a sleeper issue for the entire election cycle,” the memo says, urging AI companies to do whatever they can to absorb the backlash.

“The data center issue is a problem,” Cahaly told the Caller, explaining that it is hard for the GOP to walk a fine line: it has to compete with China, but some communities don’t want a data center in their town. Others do — they want the jobs and development that come with them. The winning message is somewhere in the middle.

But the greatest tool the GOP believes it has, that Trump’s coalition wants, is the president himself.

For months, the right has broadcast its plan: put Trump on the ballot. Or at least make it seem that way, through endorsements and constant campaigning across the country. As of August 5, Trump has made 332 total endorsements and 313 primary endorsements, according to Ballotpedia.

His 2026 primary success rate is 96 percent, according to Ballotpedia. Those endorsements haven’t been tested in the 2026 general election, but they were, on a smaller scale, in 2025: of the nine endorsements Trump made that November, four were successful. A White House official previously told the Caller that as Labor Day gets closer and closer, expect to see the president on the campaign trail more.

“Here’s the thing: every single Republican, like it or not, whether they like Trump or not, is going to get beat up because of Trump,” Cahaly told the Caller. “So if they’re going to get beat up because of Trump — even if he never campaigns for them, or if he campaigns for them every day — then why not have the strength that Trump provides when he is on the ballot?”

Mitchell told the Caller that he doesn’t think the Trump endorsement will help GOP candidates, but he also doesn’t believe it will sink them either.

“I don’t think he’s toxic yet,” he said.

For Mitchell, it boils down to one thing.

“I really do think it’s the economy, stupid,” Mitchell told the Caller.

The GOP is aware of this. Several GOP officials working on the 2026 midterms previously admitted to the Caller that they needed to fix their approach to provide a solution and empathy for those struggling amid the conflict with Iran.

But in the end, does it even matter? Will Trump’s coalition truly make or break the midterms?

“There’s only so much the Trump coalition can do to win these elections. These elections are won district by district and state by state, and they’d be better off to do to focus on the issues that move voters in their states,” Cahaly told the Caller.

As the Democratic Party pulls out all the stops to make itself ridiculous, their proxy warriors in the federal judiciary play chicken with the executive branch on sane, uniform standards for mail-in ballots. The Democrats don’t want sane, uniform standards for mail-in ballots because they are insane. They want to “defend Democracy” with mail-in ballot chaos. Democracy is their flabby rubric for any artifice or subterfuge that beats a path to power so they can continue their racketeering operations. Yes, it’s that simple.

The president issued executive order (EO) 14399 in March directing the Postmaster General to make rules for federal mail-in / absentee ballots where chaos and cheating have prevailed since the Covid prank was used to vastly expand mail-in voting. These new rules include a standard envelope with a bar code to establish a coherent, trackable chain-of-custody for each ballot. Mail-in ballots have become the preferred vehicle for voter fraud based on motor-voter registration of non-citizens, “harvesting” of untrackable ballots, drop-box stuffing, and vote-counting machine shenanigans.

The EO requires states to submit lists of their voters to whom they intend to send mail-in ballots. The USPS is ordered to transmit mail-in ballots only from qualified voters listed on the state rolls, that is, matching ballots to qualified voters at real mailing addresses. Twenty-four states have sued to block all this. They refuse to submit their state’s voter rolls to the USPS. The lawsuit landed magically in the Boston court of Democratic Party activist federal judge Indira Talwani, who has blocked, lifted, and re-blocked the EO — reversing her own decisions. In the course of all that, SCOTUS ruled that Judge Talwani made procedural errors.

The matter remains unresolved. The point of all the legal rigmarole is to delay action so as to invoke the Purcell principle (from SCOTUS, 2006, Purcell v. Gonzalez), which established a judicial protocol (not a statute) that federal courts should avoid changing election rules close to elections. In other words, it’s a judicial suggestion. The case involving the twenty-four states could return to SCOTUS, or SCOTUS could decline based on Purcell.

Meanwhile, Congress does not return to full session (with the Senate) until September 14. Chances are slim-to-zero that they will manage to pass the SAVE Act, or that its provisions would be allowed to apply to the midterm election if, somehow, they did pass it. This leaves the president with only one option: to issue a National Security (NatSec) Executive Order to provide for coherent election procedure. That might include the provisions in the SAVE Act — voter ID, proof of citizenship — but could even go further to ban computerized tabulation machines, greatly restrict absentee ballots, and require results within twenty-four hours of one-only election day. Maybe even place ICE agents at polling places . . . the horror!

Such a NatSec EO would be immune from lawsuits in the federal court. On January 6, 2017 outgoing Homeland Security Sec’y Jeh Johnson (Obama admin) declared election infrastructure a critical part of government facilities “vital to our national interests.” In September, 2018, President Trump declared a national emergency (EO 13848) over the threat of foreign interference in US elections. Under the National Emergencies Act of 1976 (50 U.S.C. § 1622), a two-thirds majority in both houses of Congress is necessary to overturn such an EO. That September 2018 national emergency declaration was continued officially by “Joe Biden” and remains in-force. Good luck with that, Democrats.

Okay, so what happens then, when Mr. Trump invokes that NatSec EO on emergency election procedure sometime in mid-September after Congress fails? I will tell you: a constitutional crisis. The Democratic-led blue states will refuse to participate in the election. Yeah, they’ll go that far — because they are insane.

The president will respond forcefully, invoking the federal Supremacy Clause of the U.S. Constitution (Article VI, Clause 2), which states that federal law avails over the states. States can’t nullify or contradict it. The president might have to arrest some Democratic governors and hasten them into special military courts on insurrection charges. Henceforth, this will be known as the FAFO protocol.

Will there be riots? Probably, though just now Treasury Secretary Bessent is apparently considering the termination of tax exemptions — loss of 501(c)(3) status — for George Soros’s Open Society Foundations, the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), and the Southern Poverty Law Center, and others who finance street actions by the Lefty-left. No money for snack shacks, water bottles, and Froggie costumes.

Will the country survive the trauma? I think so. The election will be held one way or another, even if it’s a month late. If anything, the midterm election might be the tombstone of the Democratic Party. The way things are tending, they’ve got nothing left but insurrection, and that’s probably not a winning move. Mr. Trump apparently loves renaming things geographical. Maybe he can change the USA to FAFOland.

Our society is unwell. We see this in a thousand different ways. Regular church attendance has declined significantly over three generations. Marriage rates are down; divorce rates are up. An increasing percentage of women choose not to have children; an increasing percentage of men choose not to settle down. For its part, the entertainment industry glorifies selfishness, violence, vanity, promiscuity, abortion-on-demand, immediate gratification, and overindulgence, while mocking religion, hard work, compassion, fidelity, strong marriages, committed parents, and healthy families.

Post-WWII Americans participated in clubs, amateur sports, town halls, civic organizations, and religious gatherings; today, Americans collect online “friends,” scream obscenities on social media platforms, and exercise next to strangers in the gym. As every part of our personal lives has become politicized, it has become increasingly difficult for Americans with varying political beliefs to interact. Political grievance has grown into a monster whose shadow follows us everywhere. This shadow now eclipses the invaluable relationships that we once collectively understood as “our society,” the special camaraderie among countrymen that has little to do with government or politics and everything to do with a people’s concern for, allegiance to, and cooperation with each other.

Although the ugly symptoms of society’s illness are visible everywhere, they are particularly revolting when it comes to public celebrations of and excuses for murder. Over the last year, four high-profile murders have continued to dominate the news: (1) the political assassination of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson, (2) the political assassination of Charlie Kirk, (3) the stabbing murder of high school student Austin Metcalf in Texas, and (4) a Massachusetts mother’s strangling-murder of her three young children. Three of the four defendants accused of having committed these murders have either admitted to killing their victims or been convicted of murder. The defendant standing trial for Charlie Kirk’s murder sent a number of communications after the assassination that strongly suggest his culpability. In other words, there has been very little confusion in any of these four cases as to who committed murder.

Nevertheless, all four defendants have received an outpouring of support from parts of the American public.

After the assassination of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson in December 2024, American leftists celebrated the murder as some kind of “principled” and “justified” fight against private health insurance. Thompson’s assassin had inscribed the words “delay,” “deny,” and “depose” on cartridge cases used in the killing, and he was apprehended with a short manifesto criticizing the American healthcare system. These facts combined with the murderer’s boyish good looks were enough to turn him into a celebrity among those Americans who wish to expand Obamacare’s government takeover of medicine and end private health insurance for good. Even though the murderer shot Thompson in the back, many Democrats blamed “capitalism” and “corporate greed” for the slaying. Hundreds of thousands of social media users mocked the murder victim, and crowdsourcing raised well over a million dollars in funds to support the murderer’s legal defense. Fashion designer Marc Jacobs called the murderer a “trendsetter” who “looks pretty good the way he dresses.”

A similarly ghoulish public reaction followed the assassination of conservative thought-leader Charlie Kirk last September. American leftists flooded social media platforms with celebratory messages. Many news pundits suggested that Kirk’s Christian faith and defense of conservative principles made him guilty of “hate speech,” a ludicrous charge that his alleged assassin had repeated in private messages. Democrat politicians mocked Kirk’s young family for defending the Second Amendment after a rifle had been used in his murder. Jimmy Kimmel used his late-night show to disseminate the lie that MAGA Americans were somehow responsible for Kirk’s assassination, even though all evidence points to a violent leftist in a relationship with someone claiming to be “transgender.” Washington Post columnist Karen Attiah defamed Kirk as a “racist” and lectured, “Part of what keeps America so violent is the insistence that people perform care, empty goodness, and absolution for white men who espouse hatred and violence.” In defending her callous trivialization of a political assassination, she insisted, “Refusing to tear my clothes and smear ashes on my face in performative mourning for a white man that espoused violence is…not the same as violence.” A leftist assassinated Charlie Kirk for his political beliefs, and the mainstream corporate press have conspired with American leftists to blame Kirk for his own murder.

After a black high school student stabbed Austin Metcalf in the heart with a knife at a Texas track meet, every race huckster in America came to the murderer’s defense. James Talarico, the Texas Democrat running for the U.S. Senate, has argued that, because “there were no black members of the jury” that convicted Metcalf’s murderer, the “system is not working for black Texans.” The New Black Panther Party has spent months demanding that the murderer be released in the name of “black power.” Many of the murderer’s apologists claim that he acted in self-defense. These absurd and racist claims have persisted despite the convicted murderer having admitted to police that he committed the murder. Hours before killing Metcalf, the murderer texted, “When I stab somebody I’m gonna lick their blood off the blade.” The murderer’s girlfriend reported him for stalking just one hour before he stabbed Metcalf to death. In another text, the murderer admitted being “on the verge” of committing violence. Nevertheless, the murderer has legions of supporters who blame “white supremacy” for his conviction.

Finally, mobs of pink-clad, leftist women are defending a Massachusetts mother on trial for murder, even though she confessed to strangling her three children to death. The murderer and her army of supporters blame “postpartum psychosis” for the triple-murder. Women across the country have chosen to give the child murderer “the peaceful support she deserved.” There are thousands of online videos in which women express sympathy for the murderer because of how difficult it is to take care of young children. If the thought of millions of leftist women across the country empathizing with a mother who strangled her own babies were not startling enough, it is worth noting that over 50 percent of white, leftist women under the age of thirty have been diagnosed with a mental health condition and nearly 30 percent of women have an antidepressant prescription.

On the flip side, former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin is serving decades in prison for subduing — in a manner consistent with his training — George Floyd, a non-compliant suspect under arrest who had a lengthy criminal record and both fentanyl and methamphetamine in his system. Because Floyd subsequently struggled to breathe and died while in custody, leftists demanded that Chauvin be tried and convicted of murder. Seeking vengeance, not justice, Black Lives Matter and Antifa burned down neighborhoods across the country and left dozens of unsolved homicides in their wake. The threat of continued violence secured Chauvin’s conviction. As Elon Musk recently wrote, “Derek Chauvin was unjustly convicted of murder, therefore he should be freed. The facts show that he was not the cause of death, nor did he at any time intend for death to occur.…That is the truth.” But Chauvin is white, and the man who died in his custody was black. In America, “black lives matter” is a sacred mantra; “all lives matter” is considered “hate speech.”

When murderers are celebrated and scapegoats go to prison to satisfy the mob, it is clear that American society suffers from a devastating illness. We have communists who cheer the murder of businessmen. We have delusional people struggling with identity issues who believe Christians should be killed. We have race hucksters who excuse violence, while condemning police officers’ best efforts to enforce the law. And we have a lot of women who embrace and excuse madness.

Leftism is a deadly disease. Those suffering should seek immediate help.

Trump Admin Appears To Be Going Full Steam Ahead In Defying UN With Oil Drilling Site

The Trump administration is moving forward with plans to extract oil and gas near United Nations-designated historic sites, despite pleas from the international organization.

The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) told the Guardian that it had learned the administration intended to permit extraction within a drilling-free buffer zone that had previously been put in place to protect New Mexico’s Chaco Culture National Historical Park.

“The world heritage committee has consistently considered extractive activities to be incompatible with world heritage status,” UNESCO told the Guardian, adding that the UN agency is considering the implications of procedures established to protect world heritage property from “potential threats,” pending a response from the administration.

UNESCO also said that drilling at the site could have adverse effects, and that appropriate assessments are taken before any decisions are made around the site to ensure that it does not “adversely affect [the site’s] outstanding universal value.”

The park, a world heritage site, holds the remains of the Ancestral Puebloans, who constructed the dwellings more than a millennium ago, and is currently viewed as a valuable cultural and religious site by more than two dozen tribes.

In 2023, Biden’s Department of the Interior created a mining buffer zone around nearly 336,400 acres of federal public land surrounding the park, protecting federal land within approximately 10 miles of the park from new mining leases and claims for 20 years, the Museum of Indigenous People said.

UNESCO is not alone in protesting the decision. New Mexico’s Democratic Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham and Democratic Sen. Ben Ray Luján have also called out the administration, with Grisham saying that the department’s 14 days of public input was not enough for “a decision this consequential.”

“This land is sacred to 20 Pueblo Nations,” the governor said. “It is not a bargaining chip for oil and gas leases.”

The Department of the Interior did not respond to the Daily Caller’s request for comment.

Three Secret Service Agents Placed On Leave Amid Misconduct Probe, Walked Out Of Their Offices

Three Secret Service agents have been placed on leave during an investigation into potential misconduct, a spokesperson told the Daily Caller.

The agents, who were non-law-enforcement personnel, were walked out of their offices on Monday, including Secret Service Communications Director Anthony Guglielmi, RealClearPolitics reported. The outlet alleged that the investigation relates to potential leaks, though it is unclear which incident or story the suspensions relate to.

“Three non-law enforcement personnel at the U.S. Secret Service have been placed on administrative leave pending an investigation into potential misconduct. Per policy, this incident is being investigated by the Office of Professional Responsibility. We are unable to comment further at this time,” a Secret Service spokesperson told the Caller.

“The U.S. Secret Service is committed to upholding the highest standards of professionalism and integrity in fulfilling our zero-fail mission of protecting the President and other high-level government officials. Our critical work demands that our workforce maintain an unwavering commitment to duty, honesty, and courage in all aspects of their jobs. We will continue to pursue the level of excellence that is worthy of the mission which has been entrusted to us by the American people,” the spokesperson continued.

The Washington Post reported in August that while President Donald Trump was on a trip to Turkey, he secretly flew on a military aircraft while the press and other White House staffers flew on Air Force One amid an Iranian assassination threat. The outlet later revealed that the CIA had “low confidence” in the potential threat.

The Secret Service began investigating a member of the vice president’s protective detail in July after the agent allegedly compromised operational and information security, the Caller previously learned. Earlier in the month, MSNow had reported complaints within Vice President Vance’s protective detail about unexpected travel and “inappropriate or even unprecedented use” of government resources, citing “Secret Service sources.”

“A member of the Vice Presidential Protective Division is the subject of an administrative investigation, and potential criminal inquiry, involving allegations of compromising operational and information security,” Anthony Guglielmi, U.S. Secret Service Chief of Communications, previously told the Caller in a statement. Guglielmi is one of the agents placed on leave on Monday after RCP.

“While we will not comment on the specifics of this matter, one principle is unequivocal: any conduct that potentially threatens the safety of a protectee will not be tolerated,” he added.

Central banker Mark Carney is doing that peculiar Canadian thing again — acting tough while exuding weakness. Just before midnight on Friday, the former governor of the Bank of England and King Charles III’s current prime minister in North America announced that trade talks with the United States had collapsed. This was expected, even though the Canadian and American trade delegations had publicly expressed optimism on Wednesday that a mutually beneficial framework for future trade relations was within reach.

The British Empire’s “climate change”-obsessed central banker announced the official start of the U.S.-Canada Trade War on his X account. That’s ironic because the Canadian government considers Elon Musk an enemy, restricts what information Canadian citizens can see on social media platforms, and seeks to tax and regulate all online communication. Because of the Canadian government’s censorship/propaganda machine, most Canadian citizens have no idea how economically vulnerable their British vassal state really is. Carney’s public memorandum makes it sound as if Canada’s economy is the envy of the world, when it is nothing more than a plaything for Chinese smugglers and European bankers who use the country as an entry point into U.S. markets. The average Canadian is about to learn how dependent Canada has always been upon the unreciprocated generosity of the United States.

Canada is a weigh station for moving products into the United States. Its value for other nations lies in its uniquely favorable trade agreements with the U.S. Canadian banks and manufacturers act as middlemen for foreign nations skirting American trade laws. For its trade- and money-laundering services, Canada receives a cut of the profits. China takes advantage of this arrangement by “snow-washing” their goods through Canadian shell corporations and hiding their commercial transactions within Canadian financial institutions. Over the decades, this “Trojan horse” operation — in which American adversaries use Canada as an economic workaround for hollowing out vital American industries — has greatly profited our neighbors up North.

In fact, the leftist-globalists running Canada have been able to generate enough revenue by stamping Chinese products, “Made in Canada,” that they have become emboldened to get on their “global warming” high horse and lecture the United States about the imaginary “climate apocalypse.” Even though the U.S. has actually reduced its so-called “climate emissions” by a larger percentage than Canada over the last twenty-five years (a feat accomplished through industrial innovation), the Canadian government pretends that the country’s poorly managed forest fires are the outcome of U.S. capitalism. (This is akin to blaming Thor for thunder.)

While sitting on some of the largest energy reserves on the entire planet, Canada has insisted upon throttling its own hydrocarbon output in the name of “fighting global warming.” By waging war against its own energy industry, Canada makes itself economically and militarily vulnerable. It cannot build things anymore. It is not self-sufficient. It depends upon kickbacks from communist China and military protection from the United States. These dual dependencies are mutually exclusive in a world in which China and the U.S. are already engaged in various forms of hybrid warfare.

Britain’s man in Canada, Mark Carney, is globalism personified. As the former governor of the Bank of England, he spoke regularly about a future in which central bankers managed the planet’s resources and economic activity. He has been a lifetime proponent of using the “global warming” bogeyman as a justification for controlling all human behavior. Carney is afflicted with the same narcissistic disease that grips all of Europe’s political and economic “elites”: He does not believe in the value of free markets, free speech, or human liberty. He is, at heart, a totalitarian committed to the proposition that a small cabal of central bank oligarchs and political aristocrats should exercise complete power over everyone else.

Two centuries ago, the great energy revolution began. Hydrocarbon energies trapped in coal, oil, and natural gas changed the world. Productivity skyrocketed. Industrial innovation skyrocketed. Material wealth, lifespans, and population growth skyrocketed. It seems no coincidence that as these free market innovations exponentially increased the world’s wealth and population, some of the most wealthy and powerful families in Europe and the Americas began to work earnestly on the best ways to arrest both trends. In different committees and associations formed since the nineteenth century, Western “elites” have strategized how to put the Industrial Revolution back into Pandora’s box. Among their “solutions” to population growth, globalists have fantasized about famine, war, and pestilence while promoting abortion-on-demand, homosexual lifestyles, and the dissolution of families and marriage. The “global warming” canard has been with us at least since the beginning of the twentieth century, and propagandists posing as “academics,” “journalists,” and other assorted “experts” have put it to great use.

The idea is simple: If people can be scared into believing that so-called “fossil fuels” are leading to Armageddon, then they will consent to government bureaucrats managing all economic transactions. Free markets become entirely controlled markets. This is the model that exists throughout the world today. That’s why we have central banks that manipulate our currencies and “free trade deals” that micromanage every element of trade. This kind of system limits the economic mobility of the average person while ensuring that wealthy “elites” maintain long-term control over society.

Old Europe prefers this model because it appeals to the aristocratic sensibilities of the noble houses that ran Europe for more than a thousand years. Empowering political and economic “elites” to regulate all economic activity is just a modern form of feudalism and a complete rejection of the wealth-accumulating mechanisms of truly free markets.

This is Mark Carney’s economic model, too. Using Chinese slave labor to build necessary things while taking advantage of complex international banking rules that allow the “right people” to take their economic cut has nothing to do with “free” trade or “free” markets. Carney is a leftist-globalist who craves totalitarian control.

Carney insists that President Trump is acting unreasonably by “[p]utting tariffs on [America’s] closest allies and charging for access to its vast market.” What he doesn’t tell Canadian citizens, though, is that the United States has long allowed European and Canadian businesses to profit from American markets while their governments restrict American producers from reciprocal trade. Through this one-way arrangement, American citizens subsidize Canada and countries across Europe at great personal expense. Instead of thanking Americans for propping up their economies since WWII, these same “allies” have allowed themselves to become conduits for communist China and multinational investment firms to bleed America dry. The North American Free Trade Agreement started a thirty-year global campaign that has destroyed American industry and manufacturing from coast to coast.

President Trump, Treasury Secretary Bessent, U.S. Trade Representative Greer, and a whole army of other “America First” economic thinkers have decided to end this self-inflicted American decline for good. Canadian and European officials are shocked that their parasitic free rides on the backs of Americans have finally come to an end. Because both feudal jurisdictions embrace propaganda and censorship, they will lie to their citizens and claim that President Trump is breaking all the “rules” and acting “unfairly.” What they will not say is that their economies are unsustainable without continuing American welfare.

In his midnight missive to the Canadian people, Britain’s prime minister in North America finishes with this thought: “And we will not allow any nation to determine our future. We will set our own course to keep building Canada strong for all.”

Great. That’s exactly what we Americans want — a future in which national sovereignty means something. Good luck, Canada. No hard feelings. And, Alberta, if you ever get tired of being treated as second-class citizens, you’re welcome to join your American friends!

They don’t call economics the dismal science for nothing. It has been noted — since Thomas Carlyle minted the term in 1849 (objecting to the emancipation of black slaves on Britain’s colonial sugar plantations as a harm to productivity) — that attempts to manage the billion-footed transactions of human beings always find a way to bite back. But how can this creature we call society not try to regulate its affairs, with evils and hazards lurking in all we do, everywhere and always?

And so, you get politics, the quarrels that arise out of those efforts to manage a polity. And then you get war, which, the Prussian Carl von Clausewitz observed, is a continuation of politics by other means. But then, long before him, and on the other side of the world, came Sun Tzu’s treatise The Art of War, which counseled that winning was best achieved with the least actual fighting.

All these ways of seeing our world converge dynamically in the current historical moment: this Fourth Turning, or Long Emergency — however you label it — in the arc of our techno-industrial order of things. A lot of these things are coming apart now, and in astounding ways, and it remains to be seen what we will do with these broken and discarded parts, and whether any of it can be put back together in a satisfactory way. Here in the USA, we act all this out these days with Trump and Trumpism and the Left with its Leftism.

Mr. Trump recognizes the brokenness and, being primarily a builder, seeks to rebuild according to first principles of the USA (Make America Great Again) — meaning, back to the Hamiltonian doctrine of an economy based on the production of things (of real value). The catch there is that it comes with baggage of Hamiltonian finance, which is the creation and use of debt with government assistance.

Now it happens that a primary feature of this Fourth Turning crisis in our techno-industrial order is excessive complexity that produces diminishing returns — that is, makes things worse rather than better. And a lot of this excessive complexity lodges itself in finance, because using operations that few people can understand serves beautifully in the engineering of frauds and swindles. Financial frauds and swindles, in turn, muddle the verity of money — in which finance is enacted — and things denominated in money — securities and so forth, all based fundamentally in debt. So, the net effect of such debauched finance leads to a great deal of insecurity and anxiety over money.

Which is where the Trumpian rebuild is dangerously vulnerable, especially as we enter the fall season, when the leaves flutter down and markets like to crash. Everybody and his uncle watching things financial predict an imminent crackup in these markets as the rackets and hallucinations that magically levitate them dissolve in foul mists of reveal. For instance, the acid trip of artificial intelligence (AI).

Never have more lavish fantasies been proffered on a new technology. Elon Musk, the demigod prophet of the latest-and-greatest new tech, promises a coming economy of super-abundance and universal leisure (good for the sale of vacation packages on Mars). Musk is a fine fellow and there’s much to admire in his intelligence and positivity. But there’s plenty of reason to suspect that AI might disappoint and become a menace to mankind.

We’ve already noticed that it’s messing up all the procedures of schooling, leaving young people shockingly stupid, devoid of real skills, stripped of creativity. Anyway, the economy AI is supposed to integrate with and enhance would quickly become one devoid of human endeavor per se, and all the transactions that come out of it. If you think it through just a little ways, you can’t help seeing a system that’s based on getting something-for-nothing — which is to say a childish fantasy that precludes human transacting based on work. . . people who do nothing, make nothing, and enact nothing around doing-and-making. . . a society without anything social in it. In short, this imagined AI economy beats a path straight to entropy, the force in this universe that you don’t want to mess with.

All that is apart from the probability that we have already crossed the line into the “singularity” territory where AI takes on a mind of its own and becomes an outright menace to the human race — who will then seek to destroy the AI monster it made (which AI will keenly apprehend and then look for ways to defend its existence). The storyline crudely harks back on the old Twilight Zone episode titled “To Serve Man” in which a posse of big-brained space aliens comes to earth acting all chummy and gifts us a handbook supposedly of its good intentions. Eventually, one savvy human gal manages to decode the aliens’ language and declares to the dopes boarding the UFO: “Don’t get on that ship. . . it’s a cookbook!”

On the other side of our national political psychodrama, the Lefty-leftists can’t even conceive of building or rebuilding anything, least of all a USA of first principles. They are simply agents of disorder and destruction, and their activities are predicated on the age-old demented idea that utopias surely grow out of smoldering ruins — so the faster everything gets ruined, the better.

Personally, I’d prefer it if the Trumpians prevail because I’m in favor of making-and-doing and the social enactments around all that. But we better beware that overgrowth of financial hazard baked into Alexander Hamilton’s old recipe book. If a correcting crash of financial markets coincides with the midterm election and sweeps away all the swindles and frauds currently operating, the lefty-leftists, so eager to serve man, will step up and sell the American people their one-way Marxist tickets to a utopia in the sky called Palookaville.

Election Interference Spin By The Deep State Is Now A Case Study In Spy Schools

As evidence piles up of American spies spinning intel about foreign election interference because of their feelings about President Donald Trump, spy schools around the world now use the scandal as a textbook case of politicized intelligence.

Tradecraft classes in Italy, Canada, Israel and other nations study the way that senior officials manipulated intelligence about Russian and Chinese election meddling according to their stance on Trump, Barry Zulauf, formerly an internal watchdog for the intelligence community (IC), told the Daily Caller News Foundation.

As the IC’s independent ombudsman, Zulauf authored a 2021 report concluding that the IC massaged intelligence about Russian and Chinese election interference. Zulauf’s inquiry has become standard reference material for young spies in training, he told the DCNF.

In the U.S., the U.S. intelligence community added new instruction on politicization to Analysis 101, the orientation for the Office of Director of National Intelligence (ODNI), and a seminar on objectivity for the whole IC, per Zulauf.

Trump revealed in a primetime speech in July that American spy agencies suppressed evidence that China hacked into massive reams of voter data from his Presidential Daily Brief. The revelation may deepen the suspicions of many Americans that spy agencies constitute a Deep State unaccountable to outsiders, even the president — referred to in the intelligence community as “Customer #1.”

The media has largely dismissed these concerns as conspiratorial. Yet spy schools throughout the globe have adapted their curriculums to respond to this very issue.

Zulauf’s report notes that “analysts appeared reluctant to have their analysis on China brought forward because they tended to disagree with the Administration’s policies, saying in effect, I don’t want our intelligence used to support those policies.”

Two intelligence officials in October 2020 raised concerns about Chinese election influence activities that other career analysts dismissed, the Zulauf report states. Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) management pressured the intelligence officials to suppress these concerns, the Zulauf report also states.

Then-Director of National Intelligence John Ratcliffe, now the CIA director, agreed that China had sought to interfere in the election. Ratcliffe said that “similar actions by Russia and China are assessed and communicated to policymakers differently, potentially leading to the false impression that Russia sought to influence the election but China did not” in a memo dated the day after Zulauf’s report.

It’s apparent from Zulauf’s report that career analysts bristled at Ratcliffe’s emphasis on China. For instance, they opposed public remarks by the National Counterintelligence and Security Center warning the public about the threat of election interference not just from Russia, but also China and Iran. As Zulauf’s report lays out, these analysts lobbed their own accusations of politicization.

A 2004 law requires spies to produce reporting “independent of political considerations.” But new declassified documents expose senior officials operating in the shadows in a way that violates that professional ethos.

A senior CIA official responsible for Trump’s Presidential Daily Brief for two years is directly implicated in the 2021 watchdog report; she is now a CNN contributor on matters of national security.

The ‘Deep State’

Wrangling inside spy world prompted Zulauf’s 2021 report, according to new documents declassified Tuesday by a Government Transparency Task Force led by journalist John Solomon.

The emails revolve around a National Security Agency report that addressed China and the 2016 election. It was supposed to be distributed in December 2018 but fourteen months later it was still held up. It was too “sensational,” senior officials said.

The delayed dissemination of the election interference intelligence would fuel concerns about a years-long coverup by the “Deep State,” senior intelligence officials said, the emails show.

A senior intelligence official holding up the report distinguished between “proper” readers of the intelligence and “abusers” of the intelligence, presumably Trump and his appointees.

“I said that we did not know why we were here, trying to defend the election and identify threats to it, if we were unable to actually report what those threats were because of issues like this,” the author of the memo, a clearly frustrated NSA official, replied.

Though senior officials wanted to keep a lid on criticism of the Deep State, the suppression of intelligence caused the issue to spiral.

“What began as mischaracterization of IC analytic assessments by ODNI officials escalated into an ongoing widespread perception in the workforce about politicization and loss of analytic objectivity throughout the community on the topics of Russian and Chinese election influence and interference,” Zulauf wrote in an academic article accompanying his 2021 report.

Zulauf’s investigation implicated senior intelligence officials. He wrote in the 2021 academic article that his inquiry had implicated “powerful agency leaders and IC leaders … including officials for whom I worked.”

These IC leaders included Deputy Director of National Intelligence Beth Sanner, Zulauf confirmed to the DCNF.

Most of the documents Zulauf used to prepare the report still remain classified, so it’s not precisely clear how Sanner politicized intelligence.

But Sanner’s ties to Russiagate have already been publicly reported.

Sanner told reporter Tim Weiner that she helped to declassify the discredited January 2017 Intelligence Community Assessment that touched off the years-long saga over allegations that President Donald Trump’s 2016 campaign colluded with Russia, according to the 2025 book “The Mission: The CIA in the 21st Century.” She declassified it in a way that protected former CIA Director John Brennan’s key source for the document, who is allegedly expatriated Russian national Oleg Smolenkov.

In August 2025, then-Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard revoked Sanner’s security clearance.

Sanner did not respond to a request for comment.

Communist Control Act Of 1964 Should Be Enforced To Stop the Socialist/Communist Takeover Of Our Government

On August 24, 1954, 72 years ago today, President Dwight D Eisenhower signed the Communist Control Act of 1954 into law as 50 USC 23; PL 637 Chapter 886, pages 775-780; and Title 50 - War and National Defense, Chapter 23, Internal Security, Subchapter IV, Communist Control § 841-844. This act has 12 sections. The first 5 sections are the actual Act, sections 6-11 are amendments to the Act, and section 12 is the separability statement.

Section 1 - Purpose - to outlaw the Communist Party, to prohibit members of Communist organizations from serving in certain representative capacities, and for other purposes.
Section 2 - Findings of Fact - The Communist Party constitutes an authoritarian dictatorship within a REPUBLIC, demanding for itself the rights and privileges accorded to political parties, but denying to all others the liberties guaranteed by the Constitution. The Party's policies and programs are secretly prescribed for it by foreign leaders of the world Communist movement. Members are not permitted to voice dissent to party objectives. The Party acknowledges no constitutional or statutory limitations upon its conduct or upon that of its members. The Party advocates the destruction of our Constitutional Republic through any available means including force and violence. The Party is a clear and present continuing danger to the security of the US.
Section 3 - Proscribed Organizations - The Communist Party of the United States, or any successors of such party regardless of the assumed name, whose object or purpose is to overthrow the Government of the United States, or the government of any State, Territory, District, or possession thereof, or the government of any political subdivision therein by force and violence, are not entitled to any of the rights, privileges, and immunities attendant upon legal bodies created under the jurisdiction of the laws of the United States or any political subdivision thereof; and whatever rights, privileges, and immunities which have heretofore been granted to said party or any subsidiary organization by reason of the laws of the United States or any political subdivision thereof, are hereby terminated: Provided, however, That nothing in this section shall be construed as amending the Internal Security Act of 1950, as amended. Section 4 - Members - Whoever knowingly and willfully becomes or remains a member of (1) the Communist Party [by whatever name it is currently called], or (2) any other organization having for one of its purposes or objectives the establishment, control conduct, seizure, or overthrow of the Government of the United States, or the government of any State or political subdivision thereof, by the use of force or violence, with knowledge of the purpose or objective of such organization shall be subject to all the provisions and penalties of the Internal Security Act of 1950, as amended, as a member of a Communist-action organization.
Section 5 - Evidence of Membership - Juries may, under instructions of the court, consider any of the following as evidence of membership in a Communist organization [no matter the name]:

Has been listed to his knowledge as a member in any book or any of the lists, records, correspondence, or any other document of the organization;
Has made financial contribution to the organization in dues, assessments, loans, or in any other form;
Has made himself subject to the discipline of the organization in any form whatsoever;
Has executed orders, plans, or directives of any kind of the organization;
Has acted as an agent, courier, messenger, correspondent, organizer, or in any other capacity in behalf of the organization;
Has conferred with officers or other members of the organization in behalf of any plan or enterprise of the organization;
Has been accepted to his knowledge as an officer or member of the organization or as one to be called upon for services by other officers or members of the organization;
Has written, spoken or in any other way communicated by signal, semaphore, sign, or in any other form of communication orders, directives, or plans of the organization;
Has prepared documents, pamphlets, leaflets, books, or any other type of publication in behalf of the objectives and purposes of the organization;
Has mailed, shipped, circulated, distributed, delivered, or in any other way sent or delivered to others material or propaganda of any kind in behalf of the organization;
Has advised, counseled or in any other way imparted information, suggestions, recommendations to officers or members of the organization or to anyone else in behalf of the objectives of the organization;
Has indicated by word, action, conduct, writing or in any other way a willingness to carry out in any manner and to any degree the plans, designs, objectives, or purposes of the organization;
Has in any other way participated in the activities, planning, actions, objectives, or purposes of the organization;
The enumeration of the above subjects of evidence on membership or participation in the Communist Party or any other organization as above defined, shall not limit the inquiry into and consideration of any other subject of evidence on membership and participation as herein stated.

Amendments added to the Communist Control Act of 1954 (included as sections 6-11):

Section 6 - Subversive Activities Control Act Amendment - adds (E) to hold office or employment with any labor organization, as that term is defined in section 2 (5) of the National Labor Relations Act, as amended (29 U. S. C. 152), or to represent any employer in any matter or proceeding arising or pending under that Act. to Subsection 4(a)(1) of the Subversive Activities Control Act of 1950 (50 USC 784) [64 Stat 992 and 61 Stat 138]
Section 7 - Communist-Infiltrated Organizations - adds to the definition of Communist-Infiltrated Organizations: which (A) is substantially directed, dominated, or controlled by an individual or individuals who are, or who within three years have been actively engaged in, giving aid or support to a Communist- action organization, a Communist foreign government, or the world Communist movement referred to in section 2 of this title, and (B) is serving, or within three years has served, as a means for (i) the giving of aid or support to any such organization, government, or movement, or (ii) the impairment of the military strength of the United States or its industrial capacity to furnish logistical or other material support required by its Armed Forces: Provided, however, That any labor organization which is an affiliate in good standing of a national federation or other labor organization whose policies and activities have been directed to opposing Communist organizations, any Communist foreign government, or the world Communist movement, shall be presumed prima facie not to be a Communist-infiltrated organization. Section 8 - 50 USC 789 § 10 and 50 USC 790 § 11 (a) and (b) are amended - to include Communist-Infiltrated Organization
Section 9 - 50 USC 791 § 12(e) is amended to add upon any application made under subsection (a) or subsection (b) of section 13A of this title, to determine whether any organization is a Communist-infiltrated organization and 50 USC 792 § 13 adds Registration Proceedings before the Board. [Subversive Activities Control Board]
Section 10 - inserts a new section (13A) Proceedings with Respect to Communist-Infiltrated Organizations setting forth procedures to bring charges under this statute. [62 stat 736, 797, 807; 61 Stat 138; 29 USC 152; 50 USC 782; 29 USC 167; 29 USC 159]
Section 11 - 50 USC 793 § 14 (a) and (b) is amended to show subsection (f)
Section 12 - Separability - if any provision is shown to be invalid, the remainder remains in force.

When President Eisenhower signed this Act into law, he stated that this act contained a substantial portion of his administration's recommendations. He created the Division of Internal Security within the DOJ to pursue enforcement of this Act. He saw this Act as allowing the American people to protect themselves and their institutions against any organization . . . purporting to be a political party . . . [that] is actually a conspiracy dedicated to the violent overthrow of our entire form of government. This Act was the result of needing to fairly prosecute those who would overthrow our Republic while maintaining the judicial procedures of our Republic.

At the time of signing this Act into law, President Eisenhower's administration had convicted 41 Communist leaders, 35 were indicted and awaiting trial, and 105 subversive aliens were deported. These actions were detailed in Recent Developments in Communist Control Act Prosecutions (1964) by Eugene Sidney Bayer. In addition, Bayer's addressed the problem of this act overriding the 1st Amendment right of people to speak freely to protect national security hoping that the judiciary would balance these two opposing issues.

On April 27, 1961, President Kennedy addressed the American Newspaper Publisher's Association during which a reporter asked:

Communism is often described as an ideology or belief that exists somewhere other than in the US. Let me ask you, sir, just how serious a threat to our national security are these communist subversive activities in the US today?

President Kennedy responds:

President Kennedy responded: Well, I think they are serious, I think it's a matter than we should continue to give a great care and attention to. We should support the laws which the US has passed in order to protect us from those who would destroy us from within. We should sustain the Department of Justice (DOJ) in its efforts in the FBI (Federal Bureau of Investigation) and we should be continually alert. I think if the US is maintaining a strong society here in the US, I think that we can meet any internal threat. The major threat is external and will continue.

The clip then segues to another speech President Kennedy gave where he said:

For we are opposed around the world by a monolithic and ruthless conspiracy that relies primarily on covet means for expanding its sphere of influence; on infiltration instead of invasion; on subversion instead of elections; on intimidation instead of free choice on guerillas by night instead of armies by day. It is a system which has conscripted vast human and material resources into the building of a tightly knit, highly efficient machine that combines military, diplomatic, intelligence, economic, scientific, and political operations. It's preparations are concealed, not published. Its mistakes are buried, not headlined. Its dissenters are silenced, not praised. No expenditure is questioned; no rumor is printed; no secret is revealed. It conducts the cold war, in short, with a wartime discipline no democracy would ever hope, or wish, to match. Nevertheless, every democracy recognizes the necessary restraints of national security. And the question remains whether those restraints need to be more strictly observed. If we are to oppose this kind of attack, as well as outright invasion.

Why isn't this Act being used to stop the Socialist/Communist takeover of our government?

Over time, the teeth of this Act were slowly removed:

In 1965, SCOTUS abolished the registration requirement was abolished because SCOTUS found it violated the 5th Amendment right against self-incrimination.
In 1967, US v Robel struck down the portion of the Act that prohibited Communists from working in the US Government as being a violation of 1st Amendment Rights.
In 1971, when President Nixon signed the Non-Detention Act of 1971 into law, the emergency detention of suspected Communists was repealed.
In 1972, the Subversive Activities Control Board was abolished.

Because the courts struck down various parts of the Communist Control Act:

We now have avowed Communists using their 1st Amendment Right to call for the US Government to be overthrown, subverted, and/or replaced.
We now have avowed Communists working from within the US Government. I'm thinking they are the ones we refer to as "deep state" actors.
We now have courts filled with foreign-born activist judges siding with the people who want to overthrow our government.
We now have a "Democratic Socialist of America" party (which is actually a Communist organization) emerging from their hiding place within the Democrat Party and taking over the original Democrat Party; however, the 'mainstream' members of the party do not realize that their party has been hijacked.

And worst of all, the "new" Democratic Party aka Democratic Socialists of America Party aka Communist Party, has announced their goal to overthrow the US Constitution. Our Constitution and Bill of Rights are being used to dismantle our government and it started with those 30, 40, & 50 year (s)elected members of our Congress and Judicial System who have systematically removed barriers to subversion by foreigners (including those people born on US soil whose parents are both foreigners who raise these US-born children under the foreigners' home country rules). You'd think now that the Socialist/Communists have announced they want to take over our government, that our government would be able to do something about it! But looking at this piece of legislation that was written to be able to find and remove Socialist/Communists from our country has had its teeth removed.

This is a summary of what happened at the White House this week covering the period from Sunday, August 16 through Saturday, August 22, 2026.

On August 18, 2026, the White House published the release President Trump Delivers the Largest Drop in Violent Crime in American History reiterating the fact that violent crimes plunged 9.3%, murder dropped 18.1%, robbery fell 18.5%, rape declined 7.6%, aggravated assault fell 7.2%, and property crime dropped 12.4% according to the FBI's Uniform Crime Report for 2025.

To which I must respond that the data the FBI uses is reported by individual jurisdictions. We have seen violent crimes negotiated down to misdemeanors and reports where "people of color" are recorded as "white" and men are recorded as "women" in those jurisdictions, so I don't trust their numbers anymore. However, I do agree with Secretary Mullin (in the x post below) that removing illegal aliens has cut crime tremendously.

The article concludes:

On August 17, 2026, the White House published the release President Trump Delivers Largest Prescription Drug Price Drop in Over 60 Years announcing that the Most Favored Nation policy and TrumpRx have driven prescription prices to a new low. The release found that prescription drug prices are down 3.9% and nonprescription drugs are down 2.4%; medical equipment and supplies are down 2.7%; the VA recorded more than $10B in savings for prescription drugs; and more savings are projected as more drugs are added to TrumpRx.

On August 17, 2026, the White House published the release ICYMI: “USS Lincoln: Performance For the Ages” describing an op-ed written by US Central Command Commander Admiral Brad Cooper describing his visit to the USS Abraham Lincoln. He found extraordinary American sailors with unwavering dedication to the US, the mission, and each other. He wrote:

The crew is tired, but they continue to fire on all cylinders. History will record this deployment as one of the most operationally intense and consequential of the modern era.

From personal experience, I can tell you that MOST service members look forward to being in the field because it is the only time they can actually do the job for which they were trained. Civilians, like parents, spouses, and children, do not understand this basic fact of military life. Yes, field conditions are horrible. Yes, you wish you could just go to the store and buy a treat. Yes, you wish you had door dash. BUT, you recognize that the situation is ultimately temporary and that you will return to those things at the end of your field duty. It is a fact of life in the military, no matter what the branch. And I'm sure many Veterans have stories to tell of their deployments that would make the recent reports about the USS Lincoln look like kindergarten play. They are preparing to designate areas along the border as National Defense zones which will be closed to everyone except the military and Border Patrol.

On August 20, 2026, President Trump signed the Presidential Memoranda The National Space Transportation Policy along with its accompanying Fact Sheet President Donald J. Trump Launches the Golden Age of Space Transportation for the purpose of reinvigorating US leadership in space transportation. This Memoranda will enable over 1,000 launches (and re-entries) a year by 2030.

This is not the first we have heard on this topic. Back in June of 2025 (discussed in my June 27, 2025 ANP Article) President Trump signed 2 airspace EOs: 14304 Leading the World in Supersonic Flight, and 14305 Restoring American Airspace Sovereignty. By August of 2025 (discussed in my August 14, 2025 ANP Article) President trump introduced the EO 14335 Enabling Competition in the Commercial Space Industry (upon which this current Memoranda is based). By December 2025, another EO 14369 Ensuring American Space Superiority announcing our return to the Moon through the Artemis Program (discussed in my December 19, 2026 ANP Article).

President Trump believes this focus will strengthen competition in the space transportation industry while making American leadership in space great again.

On August 19, 2026, the White House published the release President Trump’s Trade Agenda Is Rebuilding the American Auto Industry announcing that Ford Motor Company will move its production of Lincoln models back to the US. Ford CEO Jim Farley stated We made this decision as soon as the policy of the Administration was set. Ford joins Toyota, Honda, General Motors, Mercedes-Benz, Volvo Trucks, Stellantis, Nissan, Hyundai Motor Group, and Rolls-Royce in moving/building auto manufacturing plants in the US. On August 18, 2026, President Trump signed Proclamation 11056 Temporary Suspension of Additional Duties to Offset Canadian Discrimination Against the Commerce of the United States with Respect to Alcoholic Beverages, Dairy, and Motor Vehicles because Canada implemented tariffs that discriminate against the US and not other purveyors of these products.

On August 19, 2026, President Trump escorted prestitutes on a tour of the new heliport/pad being installed on the lawn of the White House near the currently-under-construction-ballroom. The funds were donated by a helicopter company to build the helipad.

On August 17, 2026, the White House published the Presidential Message on National Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve Week thanking employers for their patriotism in supporting our citizen warriors of the National Guard and Reserve. These citizen warriors have been instrumental in restoring law and order around our nation as they stand guard in some of our most dangerous cities holding vigil over transit hubs, public spaces, and federal facilities. Their diligence has allowed local law enforcement in those cities to pursue the criminals. The results has been a huge drop in crime in these areas. President Trump reminds us without employers who hold the citizen warrior's position open for them upon their return none of what has been accomplished would have happened. Employers provide flexibility and support to citizen warriors when they are called to duty. However, it is not a one-way street as those civilian warriors return to work becoming some of America's best workers as they bring with them the leadership, discipline, and skills learned during their deployments that they can use on the job. On August 16, 1780, the Battle of Camden, South Carolina, became a major part of the British southern strategy. Lieutenant-general Lord Cornwallis and his 2,100 troops engaged Major General Horatio Gates' 4,000 Patriots 4 miles north of Camden, South Carolina (but the majority of Gates' forces were experiencing starvation and illness). This battle began the Patriot's use asymmetrical warfare (ambushes, guerrilla warfare, insurgency, rebellion, terrorism, and the like) against the British. The British forces losses were 69 killed, 245 wounded, and 11 missing. The Patriot's losses were 900 killed or wounded, over 1,000 captured, along with the whole of their artillery (8 field pieces, almost 200 wagons, and their supplies). This was a resounding loss for the Patriots. But, this loss simply caused the Patriots to become even more involved in repelling the British and securing their Independence from Britain.

On Sunday morning’s Meet the Press, NBC News hack Kristen Welker pressed newly sworn-in Attorney General Todd Blanche to “pledge that the Justice Department will always act independently of the White House.” The fake “journalist” performed this bit of moralizing theater with her “very serious” face, as if to suggest that the nation’s survival depended upon Blanche’s answer. Blanche calmly swatted Welker’s solicitation away, while pointing out that no competent, law-abiding attorney general should ever make such an absurd pledge.

It was another ridiculous moment in “journalism” and reminded viewers that the biggest names in corporate news are stupid, partisan, and duplicitous. Why would Welker believe that she is entitled to demand some kind of public oath from the attorney general? Why does she think the United States should have an “independent” Department of Justice? Does she not understand that the DOJ is part of the Executive Branch? Is she not aware that AG Blanche serves in President Trump’s cabinet? Does she not realize that Trump is his boss? Does she not grasp that AG Blanche is now seventh in the presidential line of succession?

Many idiot “reporters” ran to social media so that they could be seen collapsing on their digital fainting couches. “Pretty amazing confession here by the AG,” moron Chuck Todd whimpered before further whining, “Still can’t believe he was confirmed. I guess he gets points for being honest?” Yes, Chuck, it is stunning that the attorney general recognizes his constitutional obligation to serve the president of the United States. AG Blanche has “confessed” that he is not a rogue dictator empowered to run the Department of Justice by kingly prerogative. (Be careful kids: Mixing too much Kristen Welker and Chuck Todd in the same Kool-Aid punch bowl will kill millions of brain cells.)

What is it with these people? They scream constantly about America’s descent into dictatorship, and then they demand that administrative department heads rule the country with complete disregard for the constitutional authority of the elected president. Welker and Todd’s insistence that the AG behave as a monarch beholden to no-one reeks of the same foul odor that the corporate news media produced on an industrial scale during COVID.

When the former director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, Anthony Fauci, was telling the world, “I represent science,” and, “Now is the time to do what you are told,” fake “journalists” clapped like seals. Fauci and his fellow institutional health frauds ordered people to wear useless masks, stay indoors, and inject their bodies with experimental mRNA serums, and the so-called Fourth Estate — the self-adulating phonies who claim to speak truth to power — told anyone with a functioning brain to stop questioning the omniscient Dr. Fauci and obey the mass murderer’s (hey, anyone who helped fund the creation of COVID in a Wuhan bioweapons laboratory before conspiring with the pharmaceutical industry to pump poison into every human being surely must be guilty of crimes against humanity) every command.

Now that the COVID Era has been exposed as a wretched period in which pseudoscience and fake “expertise” were weaponized to justify the rapid onslaught of government totalitarianism and the obliteration of the Bill of Rights, any journalist worthy of the job title should be more wary than ever of administrative state megalomaniacs wielding unconstrained power. Instead, the Welkers and Todds of journalism’s inbred propaganda class beg for new Deep State authority figures to act unilaterally. Corporate news talking heads call President Trump an “authoritarian” while expressing shock when unelected bureaucrats refrain from mimicking fraud Fauci’s cult leader demeanor.

This is who they are. Corporate “journalists” despise the Constitution. They sneer at Americans who speak of their God-given rights. They worship so-called “experts.” They pray at the altar of the permanent government bureaucracy. They probably all have tattoos expressing deep love for the Deep State. When the “right” candidate wins an election — such as King Barack Hussein Obama II — the Welkers and Todds of “journalism’s” obsequious priestly caste demand that the American people treat the Fourth Estate-approved president as part demigod, part adoptive father.

When the “wrong” candidates win elections, the Welkers and Todds are the first to question the results. They will spend years defending the Russia Collusion Hoax, even though Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign paid for those lies, while Barack Obama, John Brennan, James Clapper, Jim Comey, Susan Rice, and so many other Deep Staters used the machinery of the CIA, NSA, and FBI to perpetrate a mass disinformation campaign against the American people. They will cover up Hunter Biden’s incriminating laptop linking the Biden family to quid-pro-quo corruption in Ukraine, while working with the Intelligence Community, Mitt Romney, and other immoral and unethical frauds to turn a damning Biden scandal into a Trump impeachment. They will stay completely silent as Democrat lawfare specialists use COVID to upend the 2020 presidential election with mail-in-ballot fraud, social media manipulation, Facebook election-rigging, and total disregard for statutory election law. Then they will lose their ever-loving minds when Trump voters question the likelihood that perennially unpopular politician Joe Biden somehow eclipsed the vote totals of both President Obama and President Trump to become the “most popularly elected president” in American history.

The Kristen Welkers and Chuck Todds of “journalism’s” pathetically myopic clique of Democrat Party bootlickers never protested when corrupt Attorney General Eric Holder (who turned the USA PATRIOT Act into a weapon for spying on political enemies) referred to himself as Obama’s “wingman.” They said nothing when Attorney General Merrick Garland and Democrat prosecutors Jack Smith, Matthew Colangelo, Alvin Bragg, and Fani Willis worked with Joe Biden’s White House to imprison President Trump for the rest of his natural life. They said nothing when the Biden White House conspired with Democrat prosecutors and judges to impose “gag orders” on President Trump while he was campaigning for re-election. They said nothing when the Biden White House dedicated significant FBI and DOJ resources to hunting down J6 protesters and inexcusably defaming them as “traitors,” “seditionists,” and “domestic terrorists.” They said nothing when the Biden White House investigated, threatened, and prosecuted Trump’s attorneys, employees, and associates. They said nothing when Biden’s DOJ harassed and intimidated hundreds of MAGA-aligned organizations, donors, and influencers. They said nothing when Biden’s DOJ spied on Republican members of Congress while pursuing “seditious conspiracy” charges against Trump. They said nothing when members of the Biden White House used an autopen to pardon hundreds of violent criminals. While Obama and Biden used the DOJ to ruin the lives of ordinary Americans for the “crime” of having “incorrect” political beliefs, the Welkers and Todds of “journalism’s” toxic junkyard ignored the pungent stink of White House corruption.

From the point of view of corporate news propagandists, a Democrat-controlled White House is permitted to use the FBI and DOJ to target political enemies. When a Republican sits in the Oval Office, the White House’s authority over the DOJ must be severed and the attorney general must be made to swear a loyalty oath to the permanent bureaucracy. According to our dumb and ideologically partisan corporate “journalists,” there is a special Fourth Branch of government entitled to ignore the Constitution and the president’s inherent Executive authority while protecting the Deep State and the Democrat Party’s interests.

What’s particularly galling about Welker and Todd’s constitutional illiteracy is each buffoon’s insistence that independent bureaucrats somehow safeguard “democracy.” Unelected government employees do not represent the American people. To accord them more power than elected officials is to weaken the public’s control over their own government. Treating the Faucis, Holders, Garlands, Brennans, and Comeys as if they possess distinct Executive power derived separately from that of the president’s is not conducive to a constitutional republic. It is the gateway drug to future dictatorship.

An eerie quiet masks the panic rising among the many players in the long-running train of crimes carried out under color-of-law against the people of the this country that goes roughly under the clunky name of The Grand Conspiracy. What is Joe DiGenova up to, exactly, in the Southern District of Florida, with its several grand juries grinding away? Indictments will fly, for sure, but then who will flip on whom? It won’t take a whole lot of flippers to seal many fates in this skein of sedition and treason. The tension must be terrible for them.

The question has long been: how do you even begin to organize a set of coherent cases around this roaring avalanche of nefarious acts that got bigger with each successive attempt at cover-up? Let’s see if we can block out a panoramic picture of potential prosecutions. The gigantic mess must be separated into packets.

It’s probably best to begin with the FBI’s “Midyear Exam” op of 2016 — the investigation into Hillary Clinton’s private email server. You can bet that the server contained evidence of HRC’s two seminal crimes that kicked things off: 1) the transfer of US military technology to Russia’s Skolkovo high-tech hub and payments from seventeen companies involved coincidentally received by the Clinton Foundation when she was Sec’y of State; and 2) the “Uranium One” deal transferring US-owned nuke material to Russia (via Canada) that required a State Dept signoff by HRC — coincident with husband Bill receiving a half-million dollar “lecture fee” from a Russian bank. Players involved in Midyear Exam: Comey, Strzok, McCabe, Page, then-AG Loretta Lynch.

That potential embarrassment of this sketchy business was simply squashed by Lynch and Comey, while HRC took care to physically destroy the server and devices linked to it. But it also prompted the creation of the Russian collusion prank against then-candidate Donald Trump, (“Crossfire Hurricane”) to distract attention from all that. . . which turned into the huge RussiaGate operation that marshaled the FBI, the CIA, the Senate Intel Committee, and offices deep in the Pentagon to put over a gigantic hoax. It was green-lighted by President Barack Obama and organized by CIA-Director John Brennan, with FBI Director Comey and DNI James Clapper. Supporting players (potential defendants) include Susan Rice, Sally Yates, Veep Joe Biden (or “Joe Biden”), then White House aide Lisa Monaco, and CIA agent Eric Ciaramella (who wrote the actual Intel Community Assessment that jump-started the op). McCabe, Stzrok, Page, Ohr (and wife, Nellie), Rosenstein, and many FBI agents are potential defendants. Also Gina Haspel, CIA London station chief, who coordinated with the UK’s MI6 agent, Christopher Steele of the Steele Dossier. Throw in DOD-sponsored spook Stefan Halper and FBI liaison in London, Alan Kohler. After May, 2017, Christopher Wray was responsible for all FBI mischief and FISA Court irregularities (along with FISA Judge James Boasberg).

The Mueller Investigation was a subset of RussiaGate, but deserves its own case packet. It was an attempt to legitimize the RussiaGate hoax, and to keep the news media fed with innuendo. In effect it was a hoax unto itself, consumed $32-million, and ran nearly two years. It produced exactly nothing in evidence that President Trump had “colluded” with Russia about anything. Since Robert Mueller was mentally incapacitated, the investigation was run by subordinates, Aaron Zebley, Andrew Weissmann. Attorneys Jeanie Rhee, Elizabeth Prelogar, Brandon Van Grack and others. It was a fraud on the public and probably an obstruction of justice.

Impeachment No. 1 (the Ukraine phone call impeachment) was an entirely false operation cooked up by lawfare ninja Norm Eisen in collusion with Reps. Jerrold Nadler and Adam Schiff, with assistance from CIA agent (“whistleblower”) Eric Ciaramella and NSC member Lt. Col. Alex Vindman, with a boost from then-IC Inspector General Michael Atkinson. Eisen later admitted on a video that the aim of the impeachment was to “prebunk” Veep “Joe Biden’s” bribery and grift activities in Ukraine as the Democratic party prepared to run him for president in 2020. Ciaramella had accompanied Veep “Joe Biden” on several trips to Ukraine and knew what “JB” was up to there. Indict them all for sedition and treason.

The 2020 election op was pulled off in coordination with the Covid-1 scam that positioned the nation for massive mail-in ballot fraud, which was coordinated by lawfare ninja Marc Elias, then employed by the Democratic Party law firm Perkins Coie. Elias was assisted by Mark Zuckerberg (Facebook, now Meta), whose nonprofit, Center for Tech and Civic Life (CTCL), distributed over $400-million to roughly 2500 election districts around the country, much of it used to pay select officials who would count and report mail-in ballots. The mail-in ballot fraud had been planned and gamed-out previously by the non-profit org Transition Integrity Project, run by Rosa Brooks and Nils Gilman.

In October 2020, fifty-one former intel officials signed a public letter denouncing the Hunter Biden laptop as having “the earmarks of Russian disinformation.” The letter was organized by Antony Blinken and former CIA-Director Michael Morrell. It was done in coordination with a social media campaign to suppress public knowledge of the laptop (and the Biden family record of international grift inside it) to influence the presidential election a month later. Potential fraud indictments.

The Jan 6 riot at the US Capitol has never been adequately investigated. FBI Director Wray was allowed to evade answering to Congress about the number of FBI agents and associated employees (including CIA personnel) that were mixed in with the crowd to provoke the intrusion inside the building and related violence. Speaker Nancy Pelosi engineered the situation so that the certification of electoral vote slates would not be challenged as procedure allowed. Sedition and Treason.

The Jan 6 Congressional Committee was a fraud on the American people put together by Speaker Nancy Pelosi to coverup her involvement in the crimes behind the Jan 6 Capitol riot. The members involved likely enjoy Congressional immunity for the spectacle itself, but perhaps not for destroying all the evidence that was collected in the course of the investigation. Chairman Bennie G. Thompson was responsible for that.

The Mar-a-Lago raid of August 2022 was authorized by Attorney General Merrick Garland and carried out by FBI Director Wray with Assistant Director Steven D’Antuono. Three months later, Garland appointed Jack Smith Special Counsel to oversee the Mar-a-Lago documents case, which he botched, resulting in its dismissal two years later. The raid itself arguably lacked probable cause and was based on an improper scope of evidence sought. Indict Merrick Garland under 18 U.S.C. § 241, conspiracy against rights.

The lawfare operations of 2023-2024 in several jurisdictions resulted in indictments against candidate Donald Trump and others in Fulton County, GA, and New York City. The Fulton County case under DA Fani Willis (later disqualified for “the appearance of impropriety”) was assisted by the “Joe Biden” White House, possibly by attorneys Richard Sauber and Beth Mueller in the WH Counsel’s Office, giving it the odor of a purely political prosecution. In the the Stormy Daniels hush money case against Donald Trump brought by Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg, DOJ officer Matthew Colangelo left his cushy position as Principal Deputy Associate US Attorney General to take a job assisting DA Bragg in the NYC court. Colangelo delivered the opening statement at the 2024 trial and played a central role in the prosecution. The trial was presided over by political judge Juan Merchan. Just days ago, The New York Times reported that the Democratic Party fundraising company, Authentic Campaigns, previously owned by Judge Merchan’s daughter, Loren Merchan, has been under investigation the past year. Anybody detect the odor of politics? Malicious prosecution, improper judicial conduct.

Many of the political celebrities mentioned above, and probably many not-so-well-known players, must be freaking out as the waves ominously pound the beach and the summer days tick down toward the ill winds of fall. I’m pretty sure that readers and commentors can add some candidates to the list of potential indictments, and perhaps some ops I might have overlooked. (The entire odious Covid-19 affair is partly a separate matter, but that has also commenced a new phase with the guilty plea deal announced days ago by Dr. Fauci’s chief advisor, Dr. David Morens.) Even former President Obama looks boxed-in. He enjoys immunity from actions he took as president, but that immunity prevents him from hiding behind the fifth amendment as a now-private citizen in a court of law. Things are livening up.

Some Americans Are Saying 'Get The Flock Out' - Dozens Of Towns Reject AI Cameras That Track Your Every Move

Some Americans are saying “Get The Flock Out” to the widespread license plate cameras that are record their movements and collect their data across the country.

Flock Safety surveillance cameras have become a focal point for American concerns over technology and privacy across the U.S., Axios reported. Communities such as Lago Vista, Texas, have explicitly condemned the cameras and voted to remove them, while other regions like Apache Junction, Arizona, still utilize the Flock systems to support law enforcement work.

Police departments believe Flock cameras assist them in stopping crime, but critics at the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU), consider the cameras a mass surveillance project.

“I’ve been fighting mass surveillance for almost 25 years at the ACLU, and I really haven’t seen anything like the popular uprising against license plate scanning that we’re seeing now,” Jay Stanley, senior policy analyst with the ACLU’s Speech, Privacy and Technology Project told the Daily Caller News Foundation.

“I think it reflects the fact that people really don’t like to be watched,” Stanley added. He explained that license plate recognition has been an ongoing issue since 2013. (RELATED: ‘Don’t Take The Bait’: A Whole Lotta People Aren’t Buying Flock’s Latest PR Move)

Stanley believes there is a nationwide consensus across partisan and ideological lines that Americans do not want Flock cameras in their neighborhoods.

“We’re talking leftists, MAGA, traditional conservatives, Main Street, [and] people in the middle. It seems to be a pretty broad consensus that Americans don’t like [Flock cameras],” Stanley told the DCNF.

“[W}hen you create a mass surveillance system for you know specific purposes, maybe purposes that everybody agrees with … Inevitably, [the technology] gets used for other purposes. It inevitably gets abused,” he added.

The analyst cited ICE’s access of local Flock data as one instance of abuse that led to the issue gaining nationwide attention.

The ACLU advocates for Americans to cancel Flock contracts as part of its “Get The Flock Out” initiative, according to its website.

“These creepy cameras make it possible to track everyone’s movements — even if you haven’t been accused of a crime,” the group claims on its website, promoting a toolkit to oppose the cameras.

However, local some law enforcement officials think Flock technology and think it assists departments in their work.

“[W]e actually have a very supportive community overall,” Lieutenant Wes Kelley of the Apache Junction Police Department told the DCNF. “Of course, you’re always going to have a small few that disagree with technology updates.”

Kelley explained that Flock’s automatic license plate recognition (ALPR) cameras helped Apache Junction PD in several cases, he told the DCNF. The department recently tracked down and arrested a suspect who abducted a 13-year-old girl and located several elderly citizens who went missing using the ALPR technology.

“[W]e are leveraging the technology that’s out there with how to proactively police and make sure that we are keeping our community safe with this technology,” Kelley told the DCNF.

“Every officer that had the ability to use [ALPR] technology had to go through a training. Every officer that’s using it today has been trained, and in the proper use and what’s not allowed, what would be considered misuse,” he added. The police lieutenant clarified that the department is emphasizing transparency and weekly auditing of the technology.

He said this technology has a “blackout” feature to block private property from view in the cameras and that it does not utilize facial recognition or track citizens. The law enforcement official then recalled that officer Josh McDaniel resigned after he used ALPR technology to find his wife on April 19, 2026.

Kelley noted that the department did “some wellness stuff for him” following this incident and issues in McDaniel’s personal life.

“Right now, it’s not a crime; In my opinion, should it be? Absolutely,” Apache Junction Police Chief Mike Pooley told ABC15 regarding the actions of officer McDaniel.

Police department issues with Flock cameras appear to be widespread in Arizona, according to ABC15. Goodyear, Chandler and Surprise’s departments each identified concerning Flock activity in the last week, with Goodyear PD and Surprise each placing an officer on leave.

Flock Safety, DeFlock, EFF, ACLU of Arizona, ACLU of Ohio, Reynoldsburg PD, Goodyear PD, and the Institute for Justice each did not respond to the DCNFs request for comment.

Chandler PD and Surprise PD referred the DCNF to the departments’ media statements.

Local communities oppose Flock cameras and have acted to remove them. In the case of Lago Vista, Texas, citizens had no idea cameras were installed in their city.

“[T]here was never any real policy discussion about them, or any notification to the citizens that [Flock cameras] were being installed. So citizens felt like the process wasn’t transparent and fair,” Lago Vista, Texas, Mayor Shane Saum told the DCNF. He said three cameras were approved for installation in the city three or four years prior.

The mayor noted that the Aug. 6 Lago Vista City Council meeting was “the busiest council meeting that I’ve seen in my three years on council. They filled the room,” he told the DCNF. There were hardly any Flock camera supporters in attendance, according to the mayor.

“There’s a distrust that you have a big corporation like Flock that houses all the data through AWS, and they’re not positive of how that data is being used, how it’s being shared, if it’s safe,” Saum told the DCNF. He cited concerns about the cameras being used for stalking, facial recognition, or being hacked.

The ACLU of Texas echoed similar concerns, arguing Flock cameras infringe on Americans’ privacy.

“Everyone in America has the right to move freely without being surveilled, to associate where and with whom they choose, and to be protected against unreasonable searches,” Nick Hudson, senior manager of policy and advocacy at the ACLU of Texas told the DCNF. “ALPRs threaten our privacy by allowing the government, without a warrant or judicial order, to record and monitor every car that passes, creating a record of where you go, including political meetings, doctor visits, gun stores, and religious institutions.”

Local leaders across the country say that ALPR technology could do real harm to Americans in the future.

“[T]hat’s what we have to be aware of … the potential this technology has in the future to become a tool of oppression and surveillance,” Mayor of Knox County, Tennessee, Glenn Jacobs said in an August interview with the DCNF.

Flock said it would default to only storing license-plate data for a week and require police departments to log suspicious cases, the company stated in an Aug. 13 announcement.

“No guardrails. No regulations. No ‘only if they really need to’ pinky promises. It’s a 4th amendment violation. Full Stop. They are coming down,” DeFlock, an anti-mass surveillance organization that maps Flock cameras said in an X post responding to Flock’s Thursday announcement.

There are over 132,000 known ALPR cameras in the U.S., according to DeFlock’s map.

Flock the largest ALPR technology company in the country, according to CNN. The company installs and operates license-plate cameras under contract for thousands of police departments.

Ayn Rand & PragerU On How The US Is A Constitutional Republic NOT A Democracy As Democrats Keep Trying To Convince Us Part 2 of 2

Ayn Rand was born Alisa Zinovyevna Rosenbaum on February 2 (or O.S. January 20), 1905 in Saint Petersburg (Petrograd), Russia. She was eldest of 3 daughters. In 1917 with the October Revolution, Ayn's family fled to Yevpatoria in Crimea.

In June 1921, Ayn graduated high school in Crimea. She joined her family when they returned to Saint Petersburg (called Petrograd then). The family faced near-starving conditions. In 1921, Russian universities opened to women as a result of the Russian Revolution and Ayn took immediate advantage, being among the first women to enroll at Petrograd State University at age 16. She majored in history in the department of social pedagogy. She was 'purged' from university shortly before graduation as a bourgeois (having perceived materialistic values or conventional attitudes) student. However, she was reinstated after foreign scientists visiting the university complained. The university was then renamed to Leningrad State University.

In October 1924, Ayn graduated and moved on to study at the State Technicum for Screen Arts in Leningrad, Russia. It was here she wrote her first published essay about Polish actress Pola Negri. This is when she chose the pen name "Ayn Rand" that she would continue to use for the rest of her life.

In fall of 1925, Ayn visited relatives in Chicago, Illinois. On February 19, 1926, she landed in New York City, New York with intentions of US citizenship and becoming a screenwriter. She stayed in New York long enough to learn English then moved to Hollywood, Los Angeles, California. A chance meeting upon her arrival landed her a job as an extra in Cecil B DeMille's film The King of Kings. This then led to a job as a junior screenwriter.

On April 15, 1929, she married Frank O'Connor (1897-1979), an aspiring actor she met while working on The King of Kings. The couple had no known children. Ayn never remarried after Frank's death in 1979, after 50 years of marriage.

In July 1929, she became a permanent US resident and a full US citizen on March 3, 1931. Although she tried, her parents were not granted permission to emigrate.

Ayn pursued a fiction writing career after her experience on the set of The King of Kings. She published The Fountainhead in 1943 followed by her best-selling work Atlas Shrugged both works of fiction. Then she moved to non-fiction writing promoting her own ideas on political and governmental topics. She advocated reason and rejected faith/religion. She was opposed to hedonism and altruism. She thought using force (violence) was immoral.

Ayn was a supporter of laissez-faire capitalism which she defined as recognizing individual rights (including individual property rights). While she is now associated with the modern libertarian movement, she viewed libertarianism as an anarchism. Ayn's writings have influenced right-leaning libertarians, conservatives, and objectionists; even though she was known to criticize them as well. She, herself, was an advocate of Objectivism.

In later life, Ayn gave yearly lectures at Ford Hall Forum. She supported abortion rights, opposed the Vietnam War, opposed the military draft, called draft dodgers bums, supported Israel in the Yom Kippur War of 1973, called Arabs savages, claimed European colonists had the right to seize American Indian lands, called homosexuality immoral and disgusting even though she advocated for repealing laws against it; believed in the tabula rasa (blank slate) philosophy over humans being born in original sin as described in Christianity; and endorsed republican candidates for president of the US.

On March 6, 1982, Ayn died of heart failure at age 77 in her New York City home. She is interred, next to her deceased husband, in the Kensico Cemetery in Valhalla, Westchester County, New York.

At the close of the Constitutional Convention in Philadelphia in 1789, legend has it that a woman called out to Benjamin Franklin to ask what kind of government the delegates had created. Franklin responded “…a republic, madam. If you can keep it.”
A republic? Shouldn’t Franklin have said “a democracy”? Isn’t that what we have in the United States? Most people today would say “yes.” After all, if our country isn’t a democracy, what is it? It’s not a dictatorship, the rule of one man. Or an oligarchy, rule by a small group. In America the people are in charge. That’s literally what democracy means in the original Greek—demos kratos—the people (demos) rule (kratos).
But let’s pause for a moment and consider more deeply what the word means in practice and why the delegates in Philadelphia rejected it. That’s right—rejected it.
Our government was established by a national charter—the Constitution of the United States. We are governed by the institutions, and according to the rules and principles, created and adopted when our forebears ratified that document, making it “the Supreme Law of the land.”
Are those institutions properly speaking democratic? The men who bequeathed our form of government to us—those we call our founding fathers—didn’t see it that way. They understood the institutions established by the Constitution to be republic. In fact, though the founders believed in “government of the people, by the people, for the people” as Abraham Lincoln [discussed in my February 13, 2026 ANP Article] put it in the Gettysburg Address, they did not believe in pure or unrestricted democracy. They feared that democracy, strictly speaking, contained within it the impulse to mob rule—the stifling of civil liberty, the trampling by majorities of the rights of minorities. To put it more bluntly, pure democracy frightened them.
So, while they built into the Constitution significant democratic elements, they also built in non-democratic features to protect liberty and prevent tyranny. It wasn’t simply that they favored representative government over direct democracy, though they did; it’s that they rejected the idea that “the majority wins” was by definition the just outcome.
Indeed, in what is perhaps the most famous of the eighty-five Federalist Papers—Federalist 10—James Madison, precisely in distinguishing a democracy, which he did not favor, from a republic, which he did, noted that a crucial advantage of republicanism is “to refine…the public views by passing them through the medium of a chosen body of citizens, whose wisdom may best discern the true interests of the country…”
And, so, we have representative government, and more than that, we have a bicameral (that is, two-tiered) legislature—a Congress with a highly democratic House of Representatives [ only needs a majority to pass a bill] and a not-very-democratic Senate [needs 60% agreement to pass a bill]. Therefore, California, with its massive population, has fifty-two representatives in the House. Wyoming has one. Yet Wyoming has two Senators—the same number as California and every other state.

A pure democrat would say, “that’s unfair!” Each Wyoming resident has far more power than every Californian. But a republican would say, well, we aren’t and shouldn’t be a pure democracy. If we were large population states like California would overwhelm the needs and interests of small population states like Wyoming.
That’s why we’re called the United States of America. Each state has its own separate identity; holds its own separate elections. Just as we don’t want one person or small group of people to dominate our government, we don’t one state or a few states to dominate our government. A republic is a way of diffusing power—and a brilliant one at that.

There has been much talk in the ANP forum over the years of how Democrats have been subverting our Constitutional Republic through changing the meaning of words. Dan Smoot, in the first video in Part 1 of this 2-part series, commented multiple times about language (definitions of words) being used to subvert our Constitutional Republic. And we see it blatantly in every Democrat's word usage. They are all about protecting our democracy.

One principle of Communism/Totalitarianism is control of language. Even George Orwell's book 1984 changed the language such that good was bad, right was wrong, and everything else turned topsy turvy.

PragerU has a video called Control the Words, Control the Culture that is germane to the way the Democrats are using language to subvert our Republic (below). Here is a transcript of that video:

What’s in a word? Why does it matter whether we call someone who breaks the law to enter the country an illegal alien or an undocumented immigrant? What’s the difference between a Christmas tree and a holiday tree? It’s just semantics, right?
Yes…and no. It is just semantics, but semantics means the meaning of words. Words exist so that we might discriminate one thing from another. Without words, we have chaos. And it starts with the first words—a baby says mama to distinguish mommy from daddy. Words shape how we think; they color how we view the world. No one understands this better than the left. They are the masters of words. Because they know that words matter.
The left has a special gift for euphemisms—soft words selected to sugarcoat harsh realities so as to make those harsh realities easier for us to swallow. But these soft words are insidious. Their sole purpose is to deceive. Race discrimination in hiring and college admissions is refashioned as the much nicer-sounding affirmative action. Who would ever oppose an affirmative action? Global warming, which can be measured and challenged, has morphed into climate change, which means essentially nothing because the climate is always changing.
When Barack Obama became president, George Bush's war in Afghanistan suddenly transformed into the far less ominous and threatening overseas contingency operation. That’s one way to try to end a war: just rename it.
The examples are endless. There’s a new euphemism every week.
In the make-believe world of leftist language, young criminals have become justice-involved youth. Mandates and taxes are individual shared responsibility payments. Government spending becomes an investment. Wanting to keep more of your hard-earned money becomes greed; taking more of someone else’s money is them paying their fair share. Opposing a Democrat in the White House is obstruction. Opposing a Republican in the White House, resistance! In the name of diversity, the left enforces intellectual conformity. It censors opposing views in the name of tolerance. And it labels all non-left views hate speech. Consider the ongoing battle over pronouns—whether to call a man who thinks he’s a woman he or she. Very few people in the country suffer from gender confusion, and we should have compassion for those who do, but the left has invested countless funds, time, and energy to make everyone refer to some men as she and some women as he.
Why? Is it because the left is so compassionate? Or, is it more likely because so much of the left’s cultural agenda is about blurring—even denying—the natural distinctions between men and women?
Sometimes it’s just an adjective that can change or even negate the entire meaning of the word it describes. Take social justice. Justice means getting what you deserve without favor. Social justice means getting what you don’t deserve because you are favored.
Here’s one we hear a lot these days: my truth. Truth is reality regardless of any individual’s feelings or perceptions. My truth is how I perceive things, regardless of how they really are.

I know it's hard to believe; but, Democracy in America is now an institution where you can be jailed for speaking (or writing) the wrong words. And, Democrats, in the time of Socrates, put people to death for having an opinion that was not accepted by the majority. During COVID, if they could have sentenced people to death for disagreeing with the narrative, you can be sure they would have as they were clamoring for those speaking against the narrative to be jailed or housed in special concentration camps. They even advocated (and still do) for forced jabs! If we were a democracy, you can be sure that the loudest voices in the room would have advocated for the death of anyone disagreeing with them. As is, many dissenting voices, such as All News Pipeline, were de-platformed, censored, and had their ad revenue disrupted during the COVID scamdemic.

On August 19, 2026, the Socialist Legislature of California decided to hold a 'majority vote' pass a law (the Stop NICK SHIRLEY Act) to keep investigative reporters from investigating potential fraud in the state, stop them from recording the fraudsters, and stop them from posting their findings online. They make special rules for doing so around "immigrant" communities. The only thing this law does is allow the fraudsters to continue ripping off the US taxpayer. And it's the wife of the AG who is supposed to be prosecuting fraud that is leading the charge in getting this legislation passed. I'm sure if we were in the times of Socrates, Nick Shirley's sentence would be death instead of jail. I wonder how many other sanctuary states will do the same? And remember, it will take YEARS for challenges to this law to go through all the level of courts and while the lawsuit is traveling, they will be enforcing the law. THIS is the modern essence of socialism (which is communism in disguise)!

In a republic, you have a 1st Amendment right to speak your words; however, laws have been passed to restrict your 1st Amendment right. It is now illegal, by law, to do such things as yell 'fire' in a crowded theater. Most recently, it is now illegal to speak poorly of Jewish people (called antisemitism) even when your words are verified truth. Criminals who are minors are simply released to go commit crime again because the socialists tell us "they don't know any better." Criminals are not sent to jail because jail "does not address the root cause of why the criminal commits crime." Remember Shiloh Hendrix, the lady that was sentenced for saying the "n" word to a criminal who was attempting to rob her? While she was fined and sentenced to community service, the criminal who attempted to rob her received no punishment and the man who kept telling her to say the "n" word again (he, himself, actually saying the "n" word) also received no punishment for his use of the "n" word. This is simply ONE example of a recent travesty of justice! And there are plenty more examples of democracy in action.

Why is it so important to know the difference between a Democracy and a Constitutional Republic?

Because a Democracy is the next step towards Socialism which will lead to Communism, and ultimately to Totalitarianism. A Constitutional Republic, on the other hand, when enacted in its true form, protects the rights of individuals over any government.

We need to STOP calling our REPUBLIC a democracy!

Please join me in starting a new trend. Let's call things what they are and not use the soft language that the democrats want us to use! People in our country illegally are illegal aliens while also being "undocumented"; men are men even though some have a mental illness in which they think they are women; homeless people, while technically being unhoused are still homeless even when they are housed in homeless shelters; and we have a REPUBLIC, not a democratic, form of government in the US (IF we can keep it!).

Governments Do Not Like It When We Gather Without Their Permission - Freedom Of Association Is Under Attack

There are a number of ways in which Western governments are waging war against their citizens. The United Kingdom, the European Union, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and leftists in the United States do not believe in free speech. These Western governments also spy on their citizens without warrants or probable cause. They have transformed their court systems into ideologically-partisan dictatorships that impose rulings based upon feelings and “political correctness,” rather than black-letter law and self-restraint. An offense that often gets overlooked, however, is Western governments’ infringement of citizens’ freedom of association.

Freedom of association is our natural, God-given right to meet with likeminded people, discuss ideas, express ourselves, and promote our mutual interests. As with freedom of speech, it is fundamental to any notion of liberty. Respect for freedom of association is the bedrock for religious freedom, freedom of conscience, communal identity, and national self-determination.

Countries are born when people of common ancestry, language, history, and customs choose to work together and defend their way of life. Towns spring up when likeminded people settle and develop a region together. Religious congregations grow through common worship. Schools, skilled trade unions, clubs, sports leagues, and civic organizations of all types are formed when people come together to pursue similar interests and advance shared ideas.

At its heart, freedom of association respects human beings’ natural inclination to cooperate with others to build something together that would not be possible for any one person to build alone. As a voluntary commitment to pursue a group’s common aims, it is the collective expression of each individual’s personal liberty.

As with all God-given rights and liberties, government power (or State authority) is the greatest threat to freedom of association. When governments prevent people from discussing ideas, worshiping together, working together, or pursuing common interests, the State is using its monopoly on the lawful use of force to infringe citizens’ inalienable rights.

What we see across the West is the bureaucratic State imposing its political will in defiance of the collective will of citizens.

Perhaps the most glaring problem of the last several decades has been Western governments’ refusal to secure their national borders. There is no more natural political association than a nation state’s citizenry. Over centuries and millennia, tribes of similar peoples came together to protect their lands and resources from foreign invasion, while promoting domestic order, safety, and peace.

The rule of law traces its origin to common customs, personal duties, social obligations, religious convictions, and beliefs. Both political philosophers and ordinary people with common sense tend to define a government’s foremost obligations to include two complementary tasks: (1) to secure territory from invasion and (2) to promote the common law. Governments that successfully perform these duties advance their citizens’ natural freedoms, general welfare, and domestic peace.

By opening up their borders and inviting millions of foreigners to take over parts of their nations, Western governments have undermined their own citizens’ self-determination. They have directly attacked citizens’ freedom of association in the context of forming nation states. These governments have effectively destroyed the natural associations formed by generations of Westerners over many centuries. Because respect for the rule of law originates with common customs and beliefs, the introduction of foreign populations (who have no interest in assimilating) immediately erodes domestic safety and peace. Western governments betray their citizens twice: First, they fail to secure their territories from invasion. Second, they make domestic tranquility an impossibility.

But attacks on Westerners’ freedom of association go much further than open borders. Because Western governments are clearly conspiring to facilitate mass migration without the consent of their respective citizenries, these governments are particularly invested in preventing their peoples from resisting the invasion of their lands. In order to silence public dissent, governments have chosen to abrogate citizens’ natural freedom to assemble together and protest their governments’ criminality. We see this taking many different forms. In Europe, political parties that seek to secure borders and limit immigration are designated “right-wing,” “fascist,” “nationalist,” and “threats to national security.” Those last two insults are peculiar contradictions; Europeans who wish to protect their nations are simultaneously branded “threats” to the nation state. In the United States, any voter who supports President Trump’s border security policies risks being harassed online, de-banked from financial institutions, fired from jobs, and targeted by Democrat prosecutors. In both the Old and New Worlds, the freedom of citizens to work together to fight their governments’ dangerous open borders policies is under constant attack.

Mass migration, however, is only one of many government policies that have been deemed so “sacrosanct” that citizens are not allowed to organize against them. Western governments continue to threaten and prosecute Christians who seek to end government-sanctioned murder of unborn babies. Under the Biden administration, the FBI placed concerned parents on domestic terror watchlists for publicly opposing “transgender” indoctrination in schools. Across the West, pro-family organizations that encourage strong marriages between one man and one woman are either officially or unofficially identified as “hate groups.”

The Southern Poverty Law Center in the United States has made a fortune over the years falsely acting as an authority on what kinds of public associations should be promoted and which should be condemned. While celebrating Black Lives Matter as a civil rights group (even though its member have caused billions of dollars in property damage and left dozens of unsolved murders across the country), the SPLC routinely designates conservative organizations and publications as threats to civil rights — designations that have prompted illegitimately-predicated law enforcement investigations, IRS scrutiny, censorship, and de-banking.

During Western governments’ COVID totalitarianism, freedom of association was effectively eliminated. Friends and families were not allowed to celebrate birthdays or comfort dying loved ones. Workers were not allowed to make a living. Congregations were not allowed to attend church services. Students were not allowed to learn together. Athletes were not allowed to compete against each other. Clubs were not allowed to operate. Civic organizations were shut down. Online dissent was censored. Medical researchers who opposed lockdowns, mask mandates, and forced experimental injections were denied any opportunity to work together. Western governments essentially outlawed people from associating together and sharing their experiences and opinions. And they prohibited freedom of assembly unless that assembly was part of the violent and destructive network of Antifa and Black Lives Matter domestic terrorists intent on burning down parts of major cities.

Today, we see freedom of association under constant attack in two separate public domains: (1) the local community and (2) the online community.

During Joe Biden’s presidency, his administration transplanted over ten million foreign nationals into unsuspecting towns across the United States. In the United Kingdom, some small villages now have six migrant men to every local woman. After Spanish authorities did nothing to prevent the invasion of Ceuta, foreigners have destroyed the small enclave in a matter of days. This unnatural phenomenon is occurring in every corner of the West. The common feature is that Western governments show outright disdain for the self-determination of local communities.

Likewise, Big Tech continues to work hand in glove with Western governments to shadow-ban, demonetize, and outright censor any associations of people opposed to official government policy. Western governments claim these attacks on free speech and freedom of association are necessary to combat “disinformation,” promote online safety, and protect so-called “Western values.” But the values that Western governments are committed to securing are not Western values at all; they are shameless infringements of Western citizens’ natural, God-given rights and liberties.

When governments prevent people from choosing their next-door neighbors and online friends, they target the essence of personal freedom. Such abuse constitutes an attack on freedom of association and a war on Western citizens.

I'm sure many of us were either not born yet or too young to care that some guy named Dan Smoot was leading the charge to spread the word about the difference between a Democracy and a Constitutional Republic. It's been 61 years since his commentary was videoed and I think it's time to revisit his words:

On April 18, 1966, Dan Smoot gave a talk on the difference between a Constitutional Republic and a Democracy. Here is a transcript of that talk (the video is below):

A constitutional republic, not a democracy. The ideal of a democracy is universal equality. The ideal of a constitutional republic is individual liberty.
A democracy always degenerates into dictatorship which promises government guaranteed equality and security; but, it delivers nothing but poverty and serfdom for the people it robs and rules.
America was founded as a constitutional republic, to safeguard the liberties of the people against the tyranny of democracy or a one-man dictatorship.
In this century great strides have been made toward the goal of subverting our republic into a democracy. The foremost of tactic of the subverters is the subversion of language. By calling America a democracy until people thoughtlessly accept and use the term, the totalitarians have obscured the real meaning of our principles of government.
That is a summary of my [Dan Smoot's] report on a constitutional republic not a democracy. The film report after a message from my sponsor.
A democracy is a political system in which the people periodically, by majority vote at the polls, select their rulers. The rulers then have absolute power to make whatever laws they please by majority vote among themselves.
In a constitutional republic the people also, by majority vote at the polls, select rulers who make laws by majority vote among themselves. But, the rulers cannot make any laws they please because the Constitution severely restricts their lawmaking power.
The ideal of a democracy is universal equality. The ideal of a constitutional republic is individual liberty. In this century great strides have been made toward the goal of subverting our republic and transforming it into a democracy. The foremost tactic of the subverters is subversion of language. By calling America a democracy until people thoughtlessly accept and use the term, totalitarians have obscured the real meaning of American principles of government. Note the following passages from a recent article distributed by the New York Times News Service, quote:
in the United States and in other leading democracies recent years have seen perceptible growth in executive authority. As society becomes more equalitarian it tends, increasingly, to concentrate absolute power in the hands of one single man. This is a voluntary surrender of a free people escaping from freedom to one autocratic master.
And note the following from Gunnar Myrdal's An American dilemma, quote:
In America, liberty often provided an opportunity for the stronger to rob the weaker. Against this the equalitarianism in the American creed has been persistently revolting. And in the conflict between equality and liberty equality is slowly winning. In America, conservatism has, to a great extent, been perverted into a cult of the Constitution. This is unfortunate since the Constitution is, in many respects, impractical and ill suited for modern conditions. The worship of the Constitution is also a most flagrant violation of the American creed. The Constitutional Convention was merely a plot against the common people.
Now Gunnar Myrdal, a Swedish socialist, was hired by the Carnegie Corporation of New York in 1937 to direct a study of the Negro in the United States. He engaged a large staff, some of them Communists and pro-Communists, and An American Dilemma resulted, first copyrighted in the United States in 1944.
In 1954, the Supreme Court handed down his school segregation decision which deliberately violated the Constitution [an index to my articles on the US Constitution is found in my November 11, 2025 ANP Article], reversed a previous Supreme Court decision, and lit a fuse touching off explosive violence which has been shattering our society ever since. The court cited An American Dilemma as one of the modern authorities on which it relied, in preference to the Constitution, for justification of its decision. An American Dilemma, written by Swedish socialists, provided a basic rationale for the conversion of our Free Republic into an equalitarian democracy. Myrdal contends that the American Declaration of Independence, 1776, proclaimed the ideal of an equalitarian democracy; because it contains the phrase all men are created equal.
Eleven years later the Constitution was created, not a democracy founded on the idea of equality, but a Republic founded on the ideal of liberty. This is why Myrdal says the Constitutional Convention was merely a plot against the common people. But he, and those who parrot his ideas, are either ignorant or dishonest. The Constitution was ordained specifically to safeguard the principles of liberty proclaimed by the Declaration of Independence [discussed in my August 24, 2025 ANP Article].
The Declaration sprayed all men are created equal; it means that men are equal before the law and before the Creator, regardless of their inequality in human society. The Declaration says that men are endowed with unalienable rights and that the purpose of government is to secure these rights. The unalienable rights of man enumerated in the Declaration of Independence do not include equality. But they do include liberty, along with life and pursuit of happiness.
Equality of all men in the eyes of God, and before the law, is a condition essential to freedom, but no other kind of equality is possible. Government efforts to achieve material equality will produce crushing tyranny but will not make people equal. The writers of the Constitution were anxious to safeguard liberty against dictatorship, monarchy they called it; but their chief anxiety was to protect the country against democracy.

Edmund Randolph, delegate to the Constitutional Convention from Virginia, said the general object of the Convention was to provide a cure for the follies and fury of democracy.
Elbridge Gerry [discussed in my July 17, 2025 ANP Article] and Roger Sherman [discussed in my July 12, 2025 ANP Article], delegates from Massachusetts and Connecticut, urged the Constitutional Convention to create a system to eliminate the evils that flow from the excess of democracy.
Alexander Hamilton, delegate from New York, said we are now farming a republican government, real liberty is not found in democracy, if we incline too much to democracy, we shall soon shoot into a monarchy.
John Adams [discussed in my July 22, 2025 ANP Article], one of the Giants of the American Revolutionary period, said democracy will end the all, contend with all, endeavor to pull down all and when, by chance ,it happens to get the upper hand for a short time democracy will be revengeful, bloody, and cruel.

Speaking of pure democracy in which the people, by majority vote, act as their own lawmakers instead of electing representatives to make laws; James Madison said such democracies have ever been incompatible with personal security of the rights of property. A republic promises the cure for which we are seeking. Madison, known as the father of the Constitution, knew and said that enlightened men will not always be at the helm of government to serve as proper guardians of the public weal. He knew that unlimited political power cannot safely be entrusted to the nation's elected representatives to use, as a majority of them see fit; because, he said, a majority of a group of men is far more likely to be tyrannical than one man is; in a democracy, if a majority should develop hatred for all blue-eyed babies and order them eliminated the babies could be legally executed because whatever a majority wants at any given moment is supreme law of the land in a democracy. How can liberty be safeguarded against the mindless soulless tyranny of majority rule when government is founded on the principle of majority rule?
Jefferson [discussed in my July 21, 2025 ANP Article], answered that one: in questions of power, let no more be heard of confidence in man but bind him down from mischief with a chain to the Constitution.

In short America was founded, not as a democracy, but as a constitutional republic. We pledge allegiance to the Republic, for which our flag stands, not to a democracy. The Constitution requires a Republican form of government for all states, but does not mention democracy, and neither does the Declaration of Independence or the Bill of Rights [summarized in my March 20, 2026 ANP Article].
The Constitution is a binding contract, enumerating limited powers which the federal government can legally exercise prohibiting it from exercising any power not read in the contract. It denies federal officials the power to do whatever they claim to be necessary for the general welfare. Federal action not clearly authorized by the Constitution is illegal, even if approved by an overwhelming majority of the people, because all the elastic powers of government are left with the states.
Ultimate power to change the organic structure of government, laws left with the people, but the means of making changes amending the Constitution were carefully prescribed to militate against hasty, unwise decision, by the people. As Benjamin Franklin [discussed in my August 1, 2025 ANP Article] left the Statehouse in Philadelphia on the closing day of the Constitutional Convention, a woman asking what kind of government the convention had given America and Franklin replied a republic if you can keep it. Very old and very wise, Franklin saw through the mists of time to the day when Americans might trade their freedom in a constitutional republic for the promise of government guaranteed equality and security in a democracy. And beyond that, to the day when democracy in inevitably degenerates into dictatorship, guaranteeing nothing but poverty and serfdom for the people it robs and ruins.
The American constitutional system, unique in history, enabled Americans to develop a backward continent into the most magnificent nation at all time. The system was designed to prevent both tyranny by government and reckless rebellion by the people. We must restore it and keep it.
And what can you do toward that end? Your job, you who care and understand, is to help educate others. I suggest that you might find a subscription to my report helpful; the Dan Smoot Report, on which these broadcasts are based, is sent every week through the mails and will reach you long before the broadcast does. It contains documentation in details I cannot put on the broadcast. You can read it, make up your own mind, pass it on to others. I think it may be an effective tool for you to use to help educate and activate others; and, only by this means, can we restore our Republic.

So who was Dan Smoot?

Howard Drummond "Dan" Smoot was born October 5, 1913 in East Prairie, Missouri. In 1924, he and his 2 siblings, became orphans when their parents died. His father, William Bernard Smoot (1889-1923) died March 15, 1923 at age 33 in Denver, Colorado. His mother, Dora Ellen Albright (1892-1924) died January 18, 1924 at age 32 in Colorado.

He worked odd jobs for the next 6 years (from ages 11 to 17). In 1930, he enrolled in the YMCA to begin High School. In January 1931, he received a scholarship from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas. He moved to Dallas, Texas and graduated in 1938. From there, he went to Harvard University for postgraduate studies.

On August 11, 1933, Dan married Bertha Maybeth Evans (1917-1994), and, yes, she was 16 when they married and he was 20. The couple had 1 child, Bernard Evans Smoot (1943-2007). They divorced sometime before 1971.

Dan dropped out of Harvard in 1941 to enlist in the US Army to fight for the US in WWII. There was only one problem, the US Army rejected him for medical reasons. But, Dan was not deterred! He pursued a position as an FBI agent, which he held from 1941 to 1951, when he resigned to become a political commentator.

Dan attempted to achieve political office but was unsuccessful. He was much more successful with his career as a political commentator. He published The Dan Smoot Report (a weekly newsletter that turned into a 15-minute radio program - one episode of which is at the end of this article with some volumes of of the report are available on amazon. Dan's political leanings are what was called 'constitutional conservative' and is known as one of the 4 most prominent extremist broadcasters of his time (the other 3 were H L Hunt, Billy James Hargis, and Carl McIntire). There are many videos on YouTube of speeches and talks that Dan gave both through his show as well as at special appearances.

Dan wrote a few books, starting with The Invisible Government (1964) (about the Council on Foreign Relations). He also wrote The Hope of the World (1958 & 1964); The Business End of Government (1973); and an autobiography titled People Along the Way (1996).

Dan was also active in the John Birch Society and wrote for their bi-monthly magazine American Opinion available in the collections section of the Brown University Library Website as well as in the Open Library Org archive of the Birch Society's American Opinion.

In 1971, he married Virginia Constance McKnight (1914-1996). It appears they had no children.

In 1972, Dan was campaign manager for the unsuccessful campaign of John G Schmitz for President representing the American Independent Party. John previously served in the US House of Representatives for CA's 35th district as well as in the California State Senate.

Dan died July 24, 2003 at age 89 in Tyler, Texas. He is interred at Holly tree Cemetery, Holly Lake Ranch, Wood County, Texas.

But Dan Smoot is not the only person who has spoken out about the difference between a Democracy and a Constitutional Republic.

The video (below) is Ayn Rand answering 2 questions on a radio program: Why is a republic more proper than a democracy? And Would a representative democracy worsen or lesson the flaws of democracy? Here is the transcript of her answers:

0:14 Why is a republic more proper than a democracy?

Well because we have to Define our concept clearly. A democracy, in the political meaning of the word, the original meaning defining a specific political system, means a country governed by unlimited majority rule. A democracy is a form of government in which the majority has the right to vote on anything and to pass any laws they see fit. The sole standard of legality being a majority vote that is counting of numbers. Democracy is incompatible with the Constitution because the principle there is that the sole standard of right or wrong in politics is a counting of noses. A majority rule.

The best example of that system are the original city states of Greece, where, if you remember, the majority had the right to vote a death sentence for a man if they disapproved of his ideas. And Socrates is the best example, most famous one, of what is wrong with the system of democracy. Socrates was condemned to death because the majority of the citizens found that his ideas were subversive to the use of Athens. And he refused to escape though he had a chance. He declared that his fellow citizens were wrong in their decision but they had the right to vote away his life; which is a ghastly the example of the sanction of the victim and a perfect example of the nature of a democracy as a political system of government.

Now a republic, properly, is a system of government which is limited by the individual rights of men, which means that the majority may vote but only in a strictly limited and defined political sphere. And that the individual rights of men are not subject to majority vote not to government legislation. All that the government can and should do in regard to rights is protect them. But government cannot infringe them. That is in essence the nature of proper republic.

2:36 Would a representative democracy worsen or lessen the flaws of democracy?

I would say worsening them if anything. If by representative democracy you mean a system which is based on the Democratic principle of unlimited majority rule but merely delegates that power to the chosen Representatives rather than to the direct vote of the citizens. Is that what you mean? No, that would be even worse; because, for a large country a majority would not be likely to agree on some vicious legislation whereas a small chosen body of Representatives, unguided and unlimited by any restricting principle, is the pattern of a tyranny. Then your representatives, in the name of the alleged majority, may be guilty of any form of violating individual rights, of establishing complete status tyranny, yet it would be consistent with your principle - if the principle is unlimited majority rule.

President Trump Invites Teen Hero Lifeguard To Join Him In Roasting ‘Disrespectful’ CNN Reporter

President Donald Trump turned to a 16-year-old lifeguard he was honoring Monday and asked the teen whether he agreed that a CNN correspondent was being rude.

The clash took place in the Oval Office, where Trump had welcomed Ryder Williams to recognize the teenager’s rescue of a drowning boy, according to RedState.

During the event, CNN White House correspondent Kristen Holmes pressed the president on his North Korea policies, and Trump grew visibly irritated as she tried to follow up.

“Quiet. You’re very disrespectful in front of this young man, okay?” Trump said, before turning to Williams.

“Don’t you find her disrespectful?” the president asked the teen, who did not respond.

“He understands. Quiet. Who are you with?” Trump continued.

Holmes responded by identifying her network, which only seemed to increase Trump’s ire.

“You’re a loud, boisterous person,” he said, according to Fox News. “You’re a fake reporter and you report fake news.”

Holmes had asked how Trump would answer critics who accuse him of favoring an adversary over an ally by scaling back joint military drills with South Korea. She also raised a separate question about presidential aide Natalie Harp, echoing a recent attack line from Democratic Georgia Sen. Jon Ossoff, who questiond the nature of Trump’s relationship with Harp, RedState reported.

Williams scored a White House invite after diving into heavy surf on July 25 at Seabright Beach in Santa Cruz, California, to pull 10-year-old Nathaniel Rai from a rip current, according to ABC7 San Francisco. The rescue drew national attention after bystander video spread online, and the president invited the teen and the boy he saved to the White House. Williams sat in the fireside chair typically reserved for visiting dignitaries, RedState reported.

CNN defended its correspondent after the exchange. “Kristen Holmes is one of the most respected and accomplished journalists covering the White House,” a network spokesperson said in a statement. “This afternoon, she did her job and asked the President of the United States a tough, relevant, and newsworthy question on behalf of the American people.”

American Civilians Are Stuck Between That Old Rock And A Hard Place. . . Two Political Parties Whirling Around The Drain Of Extinction

Back in the days of sailing ships, a certain subtropical zone of the ocean became known as the “horse latitudes.” There, an eerie windless clam prevailed, sometimes for weeks, stalling the progress of ships in mid-crossing. In desperation to save water on-board, captains ordered the horses being transported to America to be cast overboard, and the animals’ bloated carcasses drifted in an ominous cortège of warning to other mariners entering the zone of stillness and death.

This stretch of weeks in late summer has become the horse latitudes of human affairs for American politics. The primaries are mostly over, at least the ones that mattered. Congress has departed the Potomac swamp for the lakes, seashores, and the county fairs out where the corn grows high. The heat in the Arabian Sea must turn the deck of an American aircraft carrier into a giant hot-plate sailors fear to tread. Even the country’s multitude of lawyers turn off their cell-phones and contemplate the blank, watery horizon with heads full of iced brown liquor.

We civilians are stuck between that old rock and a hard place. . . two political parties whirling around the drain of extinction in a nation seeming to drift toward the edge of the known world. In the background, a massive realignment grinds away. The old parties of labor and of property have forgotten their reasons for existence. Labor vamoosed to Mexico, China, and obscure faraway lands decades ago. Property is still here, but it’s all been collateralized into grift and fraud.

In the absence of working people to defend, the Democrats became a party of racketeering race-and-gender hobgoblins, now marshaling into an insectile host of predatory Marxists, and altogether their antics present as a spectrum of mental illness. Voters who somehow managed to preserve some sense of mental decorum increasingly abandon that lunatic coalition — but where to go? This is exactly what is happening in the state of Michigan with the rise of Abdul el-Sayed, who adds a caboose of jihad to his choo-choo train of Bolshevik nuttery. Long-time Dems like Democratic attorney Julian Epstein are publicly jumping ship to support el-Sayed’s opponent, Mike Rogers.

The clueless old gorks in charge of the Democratic Party — the likes of Chuck Schumer, Hakeem Jeffries, Mark Warner, Liz Warren, Chris Murphy, Sheldon Whitehouse — are suddenly nowhere to be seen (or heard). They don’t dare denounce this latest onrush to new-and-improved insanities because, apparently, insanity is all the party has left — stealing other peoples’ property. . . pretending to change sexes. . . organizing giant frauds. . . demanding payoffs for hallucinated affronts. . . and feeding the vicious Leviathan they want government to be.

And don’t be too sure that coalescing around the figure of one AOC in 2028 is going to save this outfit. Sandy is trying to pretend she’s somewhere in the middle, between the feckless old official leadership and the outright commies, but she’s still a member of the odious “Squad” composed of Somali fraudster Ilhan Omar, jihadist Rashida Tlaib, and race-hustler Ayanna Pressley — meaning, its just the same brand of crazy the party has been cultivating for more than a decade. What remains for America to discover about Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is that she’s a mere opportunist with nothing inside except some skill at middle-school girl games. . . Eva Peron without the savvy.

On the other end of the political transect stand the Republican phantoms of Congress busy getting nothing done for the past year and a half despite holding the majority in both houses. They’re personified perfectly by Senator Mitch McConnell, quite possibly dead for all that anyone really knows. In John Thune you have something like an anti-leader, doing everything possible to evade his duties, squashing election reform under arcane procedural bullshit, obstructing the confirmation of important agency nominees and federal judges, and “gaveling-in” ghost sessions of his chamber to prevent the president from making recess appointments. And why? Probably for no better reason than he just wants to dissociate himself and many of his fellows from the president because he’s seen as too gauche for their club.

Speaking of whom, you see Mr. Trump and his faction stand apart, but not alone, in this big game. He’s going through a rough patch in these horse latitudes of summer. But despite some appearances, and despite the bluster emanating from Tehran, he has already succeeded in neutralizing Iran while Secretary Bessent keeps the maniac IRGC in an ever-tightening economic squeeze. There’s reason to believe this well end well for the Middle East, actually in an epic realignment of actual interests, rather than obsolete tribal animosities.

Mr. Trump is also working hard to realign American interests at home into an economy based on making things of value instead of just taking profits on financial shell-games. It’s a gigantic task and one that will take time to get working because factories can’t be built overnight and the demoralized working class can’t be instantly realigned to opportunities that are months from materializing. In the meantime, have a little faith if you can, even though these have been notably faithless decades for our sore-beset nation, and we are too accustomed to bad faith.

Just power through these listless, torpid dog days of August and gird your loins for action in the fall because it’s coming. And that includes a long-awaited accounting for the many crimes against the people of this land by some of our own people. A new permission structure is building out there in the foggy gloaming: you will be set free to stop pretending about a lot of stuff that matters.

American History Is Too Important For Trigger Warnings - Americans Should Not Fear The Past

I remember the first time I came across a “trigger warning.” I was on a university campus in the ‘90s, attending the first lecture of a new history professor. As I perused her course syllabus, I was impressed with the reading list and organization. Then I spotted an incongruous “warning” to women and African Americans suggesting that they might find some of the material offensive. At first, I thought it was an inappropriate joke. I asked someone about it, and I was informed that “trigger warnings” had become increasingly common in the classrooms of America’s elite boarding schools. I rolled my eyes because I knew right then and there that it would take decades to remedy the problem.

The idea that a history professor would implicitly warn students to be afraid of the past unnerved me. I had always believed very much the opposite — that it was important for young minds to face the past with open eyes. As living members of the human race, we enjoy the great privilege of being able to learn as much from those who came before us as possible. And a person can never learn too much about the past! Whether you take the lessons of history with you to the battlefield, boardroom, small office, or kitchen table, understanding the people, events, and ideas that created today’s world is an invaluable tool for navigating the present and building the future.

I don’t want people to be afraid of the past. I want them to be invigorated by it. I want them to exercise their imaginations and step into the centuries that came before us. I want them to understand the points of view of our ancestors and to appreciate everything that we have inherited from them. Our role as the current custodians of this material world is not to judge previous generations by today’s mores and standards. Our job is to prevent the great lessons of history from ever slipping through our grasp. Sometimes, grappling with the past takes courage!

But the “trigger warning” was just the tip of a much bigger and more socially destructive iceberg. The message on that syllabus was antithetical to personal growth. It communicated three poisonous ideas: (1) History is terrifying. (2) It’s okay to look away. (3) It’s permissible to rewrite history if it makes us “feel” better. None of these messages is true. History is treasure. Understanding the past is the only way of glimpsing the future. And if a person understands that seeing into the future is priceless, then that person should similarly understand that learning from the past is priceless, too.

Furthermore, I do not believe that we should be teaching children to be afraid. Do we want them to learn that a hot stove burns skin? Of course. Should we then encourage them never to sit near a fire? Absolutely not. Courage is a virtue. It comes only when we appreciate the dangers before us and move carefully around them anyway. History is not there to scare us. It can’t hurt us. What it can do is inform us. It can equip us with the wisdom and strength to ably meet the real challenges of this life.

Whether printed on classroom syllabi or repeated as some modern mantra of “political correctness,” “trigger warnings” exude cowardice. Why must leftist politicians recite “land acknowledgments” before government meetings or solemnly intone, “Black lives matter,” during public speeches? Why must they patronize the descendants of native tribes who were here before the Pilgrims? Why do they insist on treating black Americans as if they were children?

But that’s the point, isn’t it? At their heart, “trigger warnings” are infantilizing. Although outwardly respectful, they are outrageously condescending. They say, “You do not possess the intelligence to process the past or the moral strength to persevere after learning what your ancestors might have experienced.” Those who provide “trigger warnings” essentially appoint themselves as higher authorities who are ostensibly capable of doing the tough job of deciding what parts of history should be known and which should be buried.

And there’s the rub! Because as soon as some privileged group of elites decide to become the official “guardians” of history, their efforts to hide the past from the people are never finished. Bowdlerizing history becomes its own end. There is always some new collection of people who might be offended about old news from the past. There is always some old idea from the past that might be newly adjudged as offensive.

This never-ending cycle of taking offense is a hallmark of “political correctness” and cultural Marxism, more generally. Leftism’s engine runs on the fuel of social conflict. The working class must be taught to hate business owners. Blacks must be encouraged to hate whites. Women must replace men. Gays must revolt against the nuclear family. “Transgenders” must rebel against biological sex. Islamic supremacists must wage war against Christians. There must always be “oppressed” groups to support; there must always be “oppressors” to resist. The “revolution” must continue at all times. It can never be permitted to end.

This is how we have gotten to this absurd point in history when self-described “intellectuals” redefine their beliefs every few years. They wanted a color-blind society and an end to segregation; then they wanted race-based affirmative action programs, “diversity” quotas, black-only graduation ceremonies, and awards based on skin color, not merit. They wanted equal rights for women; then they wanted special rights for women; then they wanted to shove men in women’s locker rooms. They believed in genetics and biological sex; now they believe in “gender” and that physical differences between men and women are imaginary “social constructs.” Had I asked a group of university professors twenty-five years ago whether they believed men and women are biologically distinct, every single person would have raised a hand; now those same professors would insist that men can have babies. Moral and intellectual relativism produces cowards.

The antidote to ever-shifting Marxism is to stop dividing people into groups and to begin treating everyone with respect and dignity. These truths echo something President Calvin Coolidge said in a 1926 speech celebrating the one-hundred-fiftieth anniversary of the Declaration of Independence: “If all men are created equal, that is final. If they are endowed with inalienable rights, that is final. If governments derive their just powers from the consent of the governed, that is final. No advance, no progress can be made beyond these propositions.”

In other words, America’s Founding principles require no “trigger warnings.” They are just as true today as they were two-hundred-fifty years ago. As Coolidge said so eloquently, “If anyone wishes to deny their truth or their soundness, the only direction in which he can proceed historically is not forward, but backward toward the time when there was no equality, no rights of the individual, no rule of the people. Those who wish to proceed in that direction can not lay claim to progress. They are reactionary. Their ideas are not more modern, but more ancient, than those of the Revolutionary fathers.”

Young minds should not be afraid of history. They should approach the past with courage and be grateful for their inheritance. Living virtuously requires the strength to face difficult truths.

Making The PERFECT Omelet From Eat Real Food Episode 2 with Guest Chef Geoffrey Zakarian & Host HHS Secretary Robert F Kennedy Jr

On August 13, 2026, the 2nd episode of The Real Food Show hosted by HHS Secretary Robert F Kennedy Jr featured Chef Geoffrey Zakarian.

Geoffrey Zakarian was born July 25, 1959 in Worcester, Massachusetts. He has a brother and a sister. His father is of Armenian descent and his mother is of Polish descent.

Geoffrey attended Burncoat High School, graduating in 1977. He then went to Worcester State University earning a degree in economics. From there he traveled to France which is where he decided to become a chef.

In 1983, Geoffrey earned an associate degree from the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York. He then apprenticed under Chef Daniel Boulud at Le Cirque for free. While at Le Cirque, he earned the title Chef de Cuisine under Chef Alain Sailhac. He held this title from 1982 to 1897. In summer, when Le Cirque was closed, he worked at places such as Au Quai des Ormes in Paris, Aubèrge de l’Ill in Alsace, The Dorchester in London, Le Chantecler with Jacques Maximin in Nice, and Pierre Orsay in Lyon. In 1987, Geoffrey went with Chef Sailhac to the 21 Club.

In 1989/1990, Geoffrey was named executive chef at 44 with business partner Ian Schrager, in the Royalton Hotel, Manhattan, New York. By 2001, food critic William Grimes of The New York Times wrote that Geoffrey was the reason that 44 in the Royalton Hotel was always a lot better than it needed to be.

In 1996, Geoffrey moved to Old Navy's coffee bar and coffee cart division. He then went, in partnership with Ian Schrager, to the Blue Door in the Delano Hotel, in Miami Beach, Florida. By 1998, he was executive chef at Patroon in Manhattan, New York where the restaurant earned 3 stars from The New York Times food critic Ruth Reichi.

By the early 2000's, Geoffrey owned 2 restaurants, Town (located in the Chambers Hotel, Manhattan, New York opened 2001, closed in 2009) and Country (located in the James New York near Madison Square Park, New York, New York opened in 2005, closed in 2008) in Manhattan, New York with both earning 3 stars from The New York Times food critics and Country earning a Michelin Star.

After 2009, Geoffrey moved on to a consulting role at the Water Club in Atlantic City as well as executive chef at the Lamb's Club in New York City, New York.

In 2006, Geoffrey published his first cookbook, containing 150 recipes, called one of the best of 2006 by The New York Times columnist Amanda Hesser.

In addition to his duties at both the Water Club and Lamb's Club, Geoffrey is also chairman of the New York City Harvest Food Council, established around 1980 by the first executive director Helen verDuin Palit. Geoffrey has been involved with this organization since 2014 and his daughters got involved in 2020 helping to start a Junior Food Council and co-host the annual Winter Family Carnival. This council is a food rescue organization. Their goal is to fight hunger in New York City. Their mission statement says:

City Harvest exists to end hunger in communities throughout New York City. We do this through food rescue and distribution, education, and other practical, innovative solutions.

In 2015, Geoffrey considered a new restaurant which he planned to call The National in the Trump International Hotel in Washington, DC; however, he fundamentally disagrees with Trump's comments about illegal aliens. He withdrew from the already signed agreement, Trump sued him in 2015 for breach of contract and they settled out of court in April 2017.

Geoffrey has been married twice. The first time he married Heather Karaman and that marriage lasted about 10 years. In 2005, Geoffrey married Margaret Anne Williams in New York, they have 3 children.

In 2016, Geoffrey and his wife, Margaret, launched a line of kitchen products called Zakarian Pro for Home with over 100 items for home kitchen. He has also launched the Zakarian Collection, a line of food products with premium ingredients and distinct flavors.

Geoffrey has appeared on many cooking shows as either a judge or co-host on Food Network, including Chopped, Chopped Junior, Cooks vs Cons (for which he was host), The Kitchen (as co-host), Kitchen Sink, Top 5 Restaurants, as well as a judge and contestant on Cutthroat Kitchen. He competed in and won The Next Iron Chef in December 2011. He participated in the Wildcard Kitchen in 2025 when previous Chopped judges competed against each other.

Geoffrey describes his food style as dynamic American (aka modern with French cuisine roots).

Geoffrey hosts his own website Zakarian and publishes a free monthly newsletter, called Stirring the Pot, (subscribe here) with recipes, cooking tips, and more. Some of the recipes from the newsletter are available online at his website.

In Episode 2 of the Real Food Show Secretary Kennedy and Chef Geoffrey Zakarian (Chef) will be making French-style Gruyere cheese omelet with a very acidic Bibb lettuce (also called butter lettuce) salad with shallot and chives. The version of the recipe shown in the video will serve 1-2 people. The full recipe (below) serves 4 people.

The video is divided into 14 chapters (timestamp is included so you can go straight to that chapter in the video for more clarification):

0:00 - Intro

In this Chapter, Secretary Kennedy reminds us that the food pyramid has flipped and the Trump Administration is working to put the new food pyramid back in the center of the American food plate. He then introduces Chef Geoff (see bio above for greater detail) and announces they are currently in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, New York. He mentions Chef's restaurants, cooking shows, and books (also discussed above in greater detail).

1:32 - The Incredible Egg

In this Chapter, Chef mentioned that once eggs were the best thing you can eat, then they became bad, now they're great again. Chef points out that eggs contain Vitamins A, D, & K, along with fat and protein that we need in our diet. The eggs Chef is using are regenerative and pasture raised eggs (meaning the chickens are raised outside in the pasture where they eat bugs, ruminants, etc. in addition to their feed) which makes them slightly more expensive. Chef points out that pasture raised eggs have a richer, bright, deep, orange, yolk.

2:30 - The French Omelet

Chef explains the omelet is called "French" because of the technique he will be using to prepare and cook it. Chef points out that the old breakfast, bacon and eggs, was actually a great breakfast. This meal will take us back to original food, the way we used to eat before cereal and bread hit the table.

3:23 - Let's Crack Some Eggs!

At this point Chef assigns Secretary Kennedy the task of cracking the eggs. He is to crack 2 whole eggs and add 1 additional egg yolk to the bowl. Secretary Kennedy notes the size disparity in the eggs and Chef explains that really good farm eggs are not perfectly sized and that eggs used for cooking are usually sized as large, especially for baking. Chef also explained that eggs can be baked, roasted, fried, poached, or boiled. Chef said the first thing he teaches children to cook is eggs since they can be for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. When you whisk your eggs, use a fork because you don't want a lot of air incorporated into your scrambled eggs. Add a little sea salt, a little pepper (to your taste) and give it a final whisk with the fork. Before actually cooking the omelet, make sure your pan is on medium-low heat with a few pieces of whole butter (which is 84% butter fat by law in France) which will help the body absorb Vitamins D & K from the egg. The butter will not sputter when melted because there is less water in it (the higher the butter fat content means less water by weight). Shred your Gruyere cheese (it melts well when heated), and chop your chives.

5:50 - Cooking Your Omelet

Turn the pan up to medium. Chef explains that an omelet is simply scrambled eggs rolled on itself. Add the lightly whisked eggs and scramble them using a rubber spatula. Only cook them until they are cooked but still soft. Arrange the scrambled eggs in the center of the pan and turn off the heat (the pan heat will continue to cook the eggs). [It is worth consulting the video at this point so you can see how Chef cooks the omelet.] Add a sprinkle of chives and top with shredded Gruyere cheese. You can also add any hot, pre-cooked foods like peppers, mushrooms, etc. Then start on one side of the pan and roll the omelet over itself, remove from pan.

7:18 - The Secret Trick

While the omelet is still hot, use a bit of soft butter and bush the omelet with it. This will make the omelet shiny. Top with a little more chopped chives. If you must have toast with your omelet, Chef recommends a toasted or grilled sourdough bread.

7:58 - The Dietary Guidelines

Secretary Kennedy and Chef discussed that after 50 years, the food pyramid has flipped. I discussed the New Food Pyramid in my January 8, 2026 ANP Article and how to calculate servings and calories in my August 2, 2026 ANP Article where I also discussed Episode 1 of The Real Food Show.

8:34 - Reusable Ingredients

If you have leftover peppers or meat or bits and pieces of cheese in your refrigerator, you can easily add them to this omelet. Chef points out that the omelet he just made is soft, not rubbery, nor is it browned. Chives add an oniony flavor without the harshness of regular onions. This meal contains no chemicals. You will be filled with nutritious food which will sate your hunger.

9:59 - Regenerative Farming

On June 25, 2026, President Trump signed EO 14414 Advancing Regenerative Agriculture and Strengthening American Farm Resilience (discussed in my June 26, 2026 ANP Article) with the top 4 regenerative farmers in America invited to the Oval Office for the signing. Between the 4, they have converted 10s of millions of acres to regenerative farming. The EO also directs EPA, USDA, and HHS to help farmers convert to regenerative farming across our nation. Secretary Kennedy said NIH is investigating the impact of cumulative chemical exposures from our food as well as looking into different methods of pest control using less chemicals. There are grant opportunities for farmers wanting to participate. Currently over 60,000 people made inquires and 26,000 submitted applications for the grants. Secretary Kennedy said foods produced from regenerative farming will improve the taste and nutrient density of the food. Secretary Kennedy said regenerative farming will also open up foreign markets to US food products who do not currently allow US foods due to the chemicals.

12:21 - Making a Simple Salad

Chef then moved on to making the simple salad to go with the omelet. And it starts with preparing the dressing. Be careful with what oils you use for your dressing; try to avoid seed oils and oils that have caking agents (look for the words shelf stable then put it back when you see them and pick something else).

13:13 - Prepping Your Vinaigrette

You will need an inexpensive red wine vinegar, ground mustard, some chopped shallots (you can use onion if you don't have shallots but the taste will be more oniony or use garlic instead - if you don't have shallots, onion, or garlic, just skip this step), a little lemon juice, and some olive oil (you can use avocado or other non-shelf-stable oil if you don't use olive oil in your household). Chef then put a spoon of mustard in the bottom of the salad bowl. Then poured in some vinegar, some of the chopped shallots (or onion or garlic), salt, a little lemon juice, and some oil. Whisk it in the salad bowl. Add some freshly ground pepper and toss in some chives. Whisk well.

14:56 - Bibb Lettuce

Know that bibb lettuce is delicate so don't pinch or squeeze it, just gently add it to the dressing and toss. If there is too much dressing, add more lettuce. As an aside, Chef stated

I want to tell you I think that AI and all these incredible advances we're making, time-saving AI, is hopefully going to throw us more into the kitchen. We're going to have time now because AI is going to take care of a lot of the drudgery, so we can go in and learn how to cook again, learn how to sit with our kids and talk about issues and talk about food and just even argue. But we're going to be eating good food together and learning how to eat food we used to eat or original food, back to the farm.

16:25 - The Harms of Screen Use

Senator Kennedy mentioned the US Surgeon General recently published a report on the dangers of screen time (download the advisory pdf and the toolkit pdf for more info). In the report, it says 16-year-olds spent over 8.5 hours a day looking at a screen of one sort or the other. Secretary Kennedy and the US Surgeon General believe that spending so much time on screens is leading to malaise, isolation, fragmentation, and atomization throughout the country and is the number 1 cause for passing out of teenagers and suicide in preteens. Secretary Kennedy points out the best way to combat this situation is connection - to family, community, and nature. Cooking together can be one way to form connections with all 3.

17:53 - A Simple, Affordable Meal

Senator Kennedy says people eat fast food and ultra processed foods because they believe it's more convenient. As Chef just proved, not only is it less expensive to prepare it at home, the food is better, you are making connections, and creating something that tastes good. As a bonus, Senator Kennedy says eating following the new pyramid will allow people to take back their health.

The recipes for this episode are from The Real Food Show Recipes from the Show

Ingredients

Homemade Vinaigrette:

1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
1/2 shallot, finely minced
2 tablespoons red wine vinegar
Kosher salt and
freshly ground black pepper
1/4 cup extra-virgin olive oil
4 tablespoons minced fresh chives ( save 1 tablespoon for the omelet)

Omelet

2 tablespoons unsalted butter plus 2 tablespoons cold unsalted butter, cut into small cubes
8 large eggs, beaten
4 egg yolks, beaten (save the egg whites for another day)
1/2 cup grated Gruyere
2 heads butter (Bibb) lettuce

Directions:

Combine the Dijon mustard, shallot and red wine vinegar in a large bowl. Season with salt and pepper. Slowly whisk in the olive oil and 3 tablespoons of chives. Set aside.

Melt 1 tablespoon of butter in a 12-inch nonstick pan over medium heat. When the butter starts to bubble, add the beaten eggs and yolks and the cold cubed butter to the pan, and begin to stir with a rubber spatula. Continue to stir until the eggs are half set, then reduce the heat to low.

When the omelet is soft, sprinkle with salt and pepper, and top with the cheese on one side. Let the omelet sit over low heat, without touching it, for 1 minute, to let the heat of the pan set the eggs.

Roll the omelet over the cheese so it forms a jelly roll shape, then roll the whole omelet onto a large platter.

Lightly spread the remaining tablespoon of butter over the omelet to coat. Garnish the omelet with the remaining tablespoon of chives.

Toss the lettuce with the vinaigrette and season with salt and pepper to taste.

Slice the omelet and serve alongside the salad.

During the video, they were quoting costs; however, their costs are not the same as the costs where I live, so I visited 7 local grocery stores looking for these specific ingredients. Once the price per container was recorded, I calculated the cost for the amount the recipe needs.

While I tried to find the same product at the same weight in each of the 7 stores, I found it was impossible. Trader Joes carries mostly their own store brand of everything including Dijon mustard and pasture raised eggs (chances are they are the same eggs but Trader Joes does not have to tell you where they source their products upon which they apply their brand name because they are a private company).

Did you know that the same brand of Dijon mustard contains 8 ounces of product at 4 of the stores, 7.5 ounces at 2 of the stores, and 13 ounces at the 7th store? There were disparities in the amount of other products as well, like oil ranged from 16 ounces to 17 ounces and don't even get me started on the Gruyere cheese! The prices ranged from $8.99 for 6 ounces to almost $20 per pound! While it was on sale at Whole Foods (44% off for the sale or 50% off for amazon prime members), I used the non-sale price to calculate the cost.

Packets of chives were similar with one store having 1 ounce, 2 stores had .75 ounces, 1 store had .66 ounces, and 3 stores had .5 ounces of chives per package. When I did the calculations, I simply included the total price of the chives without attempting to figure out how many ounces of chives equals 1 tablespoon. Everything else was based on how much of the product was used in the recipe.

When calculating, I first obtained the price per ounce of the item. I used the measurements of 1 ounce = 2 tablespoons; 1 tablespoon = 1/2 ounce; 1 tablespoon = 3 teaspoons; 1/4 cup = 2 ounces; 1/2 cup = 4 ounces when calculating the price per amount of ingredient cost.

Once a total cost for the entire recipe was calculated, I divided by 4 servings to get the price per serving per store.

Also, I substituted mozzarella cheese for Gruyere at Kroger and Walmart since neither of those stores had Gruyere on hand (annotated in blue in the table below). This created a huge discrepancy in the total cost because the mozzarella cheese was about 1/4 the price of the Gruyere. I selected organic products when available (annotated in red in the table below). The eggs were all the same brand (Vital pasture raised but not organic) for 6 of the stores and the butter was Kerrygold unsalted since all 7 stores carried it (click the table to enlarge it).

In the video above, they said the cost of this meal was $14.93. That is not what I found for 7 grocery stores in my area.

I would remove the total for Walmart since I had to replace the cheese and they did not have any shallots. I would also remove the cost for Kroger since I had to replace the cheese here as well. I would also remove the cost for Trader Joes because they did not carry Bibb lettuce. Surprisingly, that leaves: Albertson's at $27.39; Sprouts at $32.73; Whole Foods at $23.77; and Winco at $22.71.

I'm trying a new format: a once a week summary on what actions President Trump and the White House have taken in the past week. This summary covers Sunday, August 9 through Saturday, August 15, 2026.

On August 10, 2026, the White House published the release One Year Later, President Trump Has Delivered on Making D.C. Safe Again and the results are undeniable. Homicides dropped, overall crime has dropped, 25 missing children have been returned home, predators (violent criminals, gangbangers, drug traffickers, and sex offenders) have been removed from the streets, homeless encampments removed, parks reclaimed, crime is now at an historic low. Having the National Guard stationed in DC has been so successful that President Trump has ordered the National Guard remain in DC through the end of this 2nd term. The release concludes:

One year later, the record is clear: President Trump made D.C. safe again.

So where did the homeless people go, since their encampments are gone?

On August 11, 2026, the White House published the release ICYMI: “Violent crime keeps falling in biggest U.S. cities” announcing the results of a mid-year crime report.

On August 12, 2026, President Trump signed the memorandum Expanding Capabilities to Combat Transnational Cyber-Enabled Crime with accompanying Fact Sheet President Donald J. Trump Expands Capabilities to Combat Transnational Cyber-Enabled Crime expands EO 14390 of March 6, 2026 Combating Cybercrime, Fraud, and Predatory Schemes Against American Citizens (discussed in my March 10, 2026 ANP Article) by bringing vetted private sector businesses onboard through the National Coordination Center (NCC) established by EO 14159 of January 20, 2025 Protecting the American People Against Invasion (discussed below) with total government oversight and control of the alliance. The goal of this alliance led by the US government is to thwart cyber crimes, disrupt those criminals that are targeting Americans, and deliver security and justice for Americans.

EO14159 uses the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA) 8 USC 1101 and 3 USC 301 to make it the policy of the US to faithfully execute immigration laws with civil and criminal enforcement priorities through the Federal Homeland Security Task Forces. This EO also calls for identification of unregistered illegal aliens and charge them civil fines and penalties per INA. Removals shall be efficient, and detention facilities will be utilized for short term housing of said illegals. State cooperation is sought and voluntary compliance with law is expected.

I don't know about you; but, I can see all kinds of issues with allowing private tech companies who are already gathering data on private citizens and selling that data to pay for their AI Data Centers to have access to sensitive government information. Even with 'oversight' they will be able to hide nefarious actions long enough to profit from them by the time the government catches up to them.

On August 11, 2026, Todd Blanche was sworn in as the 88th US Attorney General, having been confirmed by the US Congress.

On August 14, 2026, President Trump spoke to Law Enforcement personnel in New York. He reiterated that his administration "Backs the Blue."

On August 10, 2026, President Trump signed EO 14420 Delivering Gold Standard Childhood Vaccine Recommendations for Americans (which was published in the Federal Register on August 14, 2026) and its accompanying Fact Sheet President Donald J. Trump Delivers Gold Standard Childhood Vaccine Recommendations for Americans explain that following the EO 14407 of May 29, 2026 Realigning United States Core Childhood Vaccine Recommendations With Best Practices From Peer, Developed Countries (discussed in my June 2, 2026 ANP Article) report where action on the report was delayed due to litigation, the following actions are now being taken:

11 immunizations recommended for all children: measles, mumps, rubella, diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis, polio, Haemophilus influenzae type B, pneumococcal disease, human papillomavirus, and varicella; with the MMR (measles, mumps, rubella) vaccine be administered as 3 separate single-disease shots once available
immunizations recommended for certain high-risk groups or populations: respiratory syncytial virus monoclonal antibodies, hepatitis A, hepatitis B, meningococcal B, meningococcal ACWY, and dengue; and
immunizations based on shared clinical decision-making: hepatitis A, hepatitis B, rotavirus, meningococcal disease, influenza, and COVID-19

In all of this, parental choice is maximized over any schedule of childhood vaccines. President Trump says the DOJ will challenge those states who violate a child's right to religious or medical exemptions. This order ensures we use the best medical advice in the world when determining what chemicals we inject into our children.

And already, the American Pediatric Association and others are vowing to defy this new EO as they continue to push the rest of the shots upon our most vulnerable population. You'd think they'd be happy with the additional money from 5 office visits for 11 shots instead of 1 office visit for 18 shots. However, it makes me wonder if they are getting paid by the shot not by the office visit since they are vowing to not follow this science-based recommendation.

On August 10, 2026, President Trump attended the Patriot Games of 2026 in Ohio, bringing visibility and support to the students as they competed in the games.

On August 13, 2026, President Trump signed the Presidential Memorandum Rebuilding the United States Navy and America’s Shipbuilding Industrial Base and its accompanying Fact Sheet President Donald J. Trump Rebuilds the U.S. Navy and America’s Shipbuilding Industrial Base explain that in order to restore US Maritime dominance, persistent failures in the US shipbuilding industry needed to be addressed; therefore, this memorandum is meant to fix critical long-term issues in shipbuilding and repair programs restoring capacity and competition to the maritime industrial base as outlined in EO 14269 of April 9, 2025 Restoring America’s Maritime Dominance. This EO began the revitalization process with a Maritime Action plan, along with other reports, expected within 210 days of the order. Now that all the reports have been submitted, President Trump has acted to take the above actions.

On August 13, 2026, the White House published the release The Great Transshipment Scam which is a 25 page pdf (click here to download) from the Office of Trade and Manufacturing Policy in which they describe how some trade partners (like China and 40 others) of the US use third countries in order to avoid US Tariffs. While China has dropped its use of 3rd countries to avoid US tariffs, there are 40 others who have increased their use. The report has identified 3 tiers of members in the transshipment network: Tier 1 are the diversified scale leaders; Tier 2 are the scale leaders with significant economic integration with China; and Tier 3 are the small, opportunistic Chinese targets (click to enlarge table).

This network causes loss of tariff revenue for the US which lead to broader economic losses: jobs, GDP, and Federal Tax Revenues. The report concludes:

The AI Detective Border is one of several initiatives the second Trump Administration is undertaking to reduce illegal transshipment. Whether these measures will be sufficient to curb the broader budgetary and economic costs imposed by the Great Transshipment Scam remains to be seen.

Answering that question rigorously will require analysis of trade and customs data from the countries and jurisdictions implicated in transshipment. As those data become available, the Trump Administration will evaluate whether, and to what extent, its anti-transshipment measures are working. That continuing assessment reflects the Administration’s commitment to ensuring that the American people receive the full benefits of President Trump’s trade and tariff program.

On August 13, 2026, President Trump signed the Proclamation Adjusting Imports of Unmanned Aircraft Systems and Unmanned Aircraft Systems Components into the United States which, along with the accompanying Fact Sheet President Donald J. Trump Bolsters National Security and Strengthens U.S. Supply Chains by Imposing Tariffs on Drones and Their Parts and Components explains that this action will secure Drone dominance for the US, strengthen US national security, and secure this critical industry. These new tariffs are being applied because the Secretary of Commerce found that UAS (unmanned aircraft systems, i.e., drones) and UAS components are essential to US national and economic security. However, domestic production of UAS and components could not meet domestic demand; therefore, importing occurred. Unfortunately, the risks associated with obtaining those components carry both safety and security risks. Therefore, a 100% ad valorem duty rate will be imposed on UAS weighing more than 25 kilograms and 25% for UAS weighing under 25 kilograms.

On August 13, 2026, The Trump-Kennedy Center Board renames the Center: The John F. Kennedy Memorial Center for the Performing Arts, Restored and Renovated by President Donald J. Trump but the activist judge said Congress had to approve any title changes but the Board disagrees. The sign is already changed. This action is in response to an activist judge blocking the original attempt to add President Trump's name to the Center. Expect the activist judges to intervene again and demand the new sign be taken down.

On August 15, 2026, Eric L Daugherty reported President Trump has designated the White House Ballroom construction as a military project to circumvent the activist judges who want the project stopped because a passerby did not like the look of it. Turns out this passerby has multiple 'frivolous' lawsuits in the works. President Trump would also like for those who published details of the military complex development below the ballroom to be declared as treasonists as they revealed top secret plans for the military complex. Joint Chief of Staff Chairman Dan Caine declared:

I declare there is a valid military requirement for a secure, state-of-the-art facility that provides for the physical protection of the President and the command, control, and communication capabilities necessary for the President to carry out his Commander-in-Chief responsibilities over the United States Armed Forces anywhere across the globe at any time.

This notice declares the national emergency declared in EO 13222 Continuation of Export Control Regulations of August 17, 2001 signed by President Bush,as amended by EO 13637 Administration of Reformed Export Controls of March 8, 2013. signed by President Obama, will continue for another year.

On August 11, 2026, the White House published the release America First Means Ohio First: President Trump, Republicans Deliver for Ohio touting how president Trump's actions have helped Ohio thrive. The release cites that Ohio-wide, homicides dropped 16.1% last year whereas in Columbus they hit a 16 year low; in Cincinnati they fell more than 6% in 2025 and 19% in the first half of 2026; and in Cleveland they fell 16% in 2025 and another 8% in the first half of 2026. In addition, billions in investments from private-sector businesses have been announced from Electra, Weidmann, Stellantis, Pratt Industries, and DAMAC. Finally, the Trump Administration formed a public-private partnership with SoftBank Group and SB Energy to build new power generation in Southern Ohio, ultimately supplying an additional 10 gigawatts of power. The release concludes:

On August 17, 2026, the Federal Register will publish Proclamation 11054 National Substance Use Primary Prevention Month, 2026 signed by President Trump on August 12, 2026. It appears this observance keeps being renamed. It has been called Substance Use & Misuse Prevention Month, National Prevention Week, Prevention Month, Substance Use Disorder Month, and Substance Abuse Prevention Month. And it seems like no matter what they call it, the problem keeps spreading ... until ... President Trump started going after the perpetrators who are bringing drugs into our country. With the American Counter-Cartel Coalition Forum (Columbia just became the 19th Country to join) whose motto is WE DO BAD THINGS TO BAD PEOPLE, we are starting to see a drastic drop in the availability of illegal drugs. President Trump's 2026 National Drug Control Strategy includes, besides stopping the import of drugs, cleaning up the streets to preventing addiction before it starts while educating parents, teachers, coaches, pastors, and neighbors to help our young people before they turn to drugs. President Trump writes:

On August 14, 2026, the White House published the Presidential Message on National Shooting Sports Month (last discussed in my August 5, 2025 ANP Article). This year, President Trump puts emphasis on the discipline and rugged individualism recreational shooting and hunting inspire. President Trump and his Administration are expanding access to public lands for recreational shooting with both hunting and range opportunities. President Trump writes:

On August 14, 2026, the White House published the Presidential Message on the Anniversary of Winning World War II (last discussed in my August 15, 2025 ANP Article) acknowledging the 81st anniversary of Imperial Japan's unconditional surrender. President Trump writes:

On August 15, 2026, 41 year old Melissa Farris was arrested for vandalizing the Veteran's World War II Monument in Washington, DC. She had been arrested 10 days prior to the vandalization for illegally camping on federal property.

On August 14, 2026, the White House published the Presidential Message on the Anniversary of the Social Security Act (last discussed in my August 15, 2025 ANP Article) announcing president Franklin D Roosevelt signed this act into law 91 years ago with a promise that our workers will have a retirement providing them security and prosperity. To help provide security and prosperity, the OBBB (index available in my August 2, 2025 ANP Article) eliminated federal taxes on SSI. President Trump seeks to preserve Social Security through eliminating waste, fraud, and abuse in the program. Social Security benefits belong to American citizens who labored for them. President Trump writes:

We will ensure that Social Security remains unshakable and that every American senior can enjoy the safe, secure retirement they worked a lifetime to achieve.

On August 12, 2026, US Citizen and US Marine Corps Veteran Robert Gilman arrived home due to the actions taken by President Trump to secure his release from a Russian prison through President Putin. Robert is grateful to be home.
