The Lady and Sons is a staple of Savannah culture.

If you are looking for a fantastic brunch location for Father’s Day, there are many restaurants near Savannah, GA apartments. Of course, one of the most famous is Lady and Sons, made popular by the TV cook Paula Deen.

This three story restaurant, located right off of Whitaker street and near City Market, provides an excellent buffet for any lover of fried chicken, cheese corn bread, and anything else rich in flavor. So, for the perfect Father’s Day option, skip out on the other restaurants and check out Lady and Sons.

Lady and Sons does not accept reservations for tourists, but if you stop by the check-in and explain you are a local, you are able to bypass the rather extensive line, which often spans several city blocks. This way, you don’t have to wait long in order to sit down.

When visiting the Lady and Sons, unlike other restaurants near Savannah, GA apartments, you have the option of either ordering the buffet, or selecting a specific menu item. The buffet is the most popular special, especially for Father’s Day, but if there’s something specific your father wants, he can opt into order from the menu.

Visit the Tybee Lighthouse at the Beach this Summer

Be sure to visit the historic lighthouse when you go to Tybee Island!

In the heat of the summer, it’s always delightful to get out of your apartment and go to the beach for an afternoon. The ocean breezes and beautiful sunsets give you a new outlook on life. Tybee Island is within easy driving distance of many apartments in Savannah, GA, and it offers a lighthouse to explore in addition to several miles of beaches.At the Tybee Island Light Station, you get a chance to examine Georgia’s oldest and tallest lighthouse up close. The current lighthouse dates from 1866, when the previous tower was rebuilt after suffering damage during the Civil War. Today, the U.S. Coast Guard still operates the light, which can be seen 18 miles out to sea, as a navigational aid.

The Tybee Island Historical Society is responsible for maintenance of the rest of the Light Station site. You can explore the restored cottage of the head keeper, the oldest building on Tybee Island, as well as the cottages where the assistant keepers and their families lived.

The Light Station is also available for weddings and other events with advance reservations.
