We have a great real estate team working with us and are hoping to pass along some potential sites in the next week or two.

This weekend should be quite busy as we have several visits lined up in the Portland area.

Please look for a “Sign up Form” on the site shortly that will provide readers with email updates when we post something new.

Big thanks to everyone who has emailed The Walkers Course with support for the vision and project, it is very much appreciated and we look forward to welcoming you to the first tee one of these days!

David and I have some ideas about who we like for the project – but it would be great to hear from you, so please send us your thoughts.
Please remember – the basic premise is a very fun yet challenging 6,500 yard course that will be very walkable on a 225ish acre site.

David and I played a local course this weekend that we thought may have potential for TWC. The property was large and fairly flat. Unfortunately, it was also a swamp as the land was actually below the water table. A huge berm protects the property from an adjacent river. Enough said there.

Today we went out and looked at a property that seemed promising but there were too many topographical challenges. It was only 30 minutes from Portland and just off a busy road, which is great, but the land would be too challenging.

We have a couple more places scouted out but if you have any ideas let us know!

We are thinking that Yamhill County could be a great fit but we are open to sites in Washington, Marion, Clackamas and Clark (WA) as well.

The past couple of weeks have been very exciting for The Walkers Course.

David’s great work has the site up and running for the world to see.

We are planning on visiting a potential property for the course this weekend which will be fun and interesting. It is early days yet but this location certainly has many of the qualities that we are looking for.

Several meetings this week with members of the local community were very productive and we are currently assembling our “team” to make the dream of The Walkers Course come true.

One of the most exciting elements of the course will be the positive impact on the local economy, especially with Oregon unemployment ranking as one of the highest in the nation.

The Walkers Course will be about golf for many, but it is much more than that for David and I, along with the members of our team. This is an opportunity to further Oregon’s reputation as a premier golfing destination while providing significant financial stimulus at a time when it is truly needed.

We would encourage local communities and organizations to contact us about potential sites that may be available in their area or aspects of the project that they may be interested in helping out on.
