Self-guided cycle and bike tours of the Ring of Kerry in Ireland

A four centre self-guide cycle ride of the Ring of Kerry Coast in County Kerry starting any Saturday in 2008, starting and finishing in Killarney. 7 nights bed and breakfast in en-suite guesthouse accommodation, transfer of luggage each day, 21 speed touring bike and detailed notes and maps, Telephone back-up and emergency support throughout. This Kerry Coast cycle ride takes you through some of the county's most outstanding scenery around the Ring of Kerry from Killarney. It is enhanced by the influence of both ancient folklore and local traditions. We begin our cycle along the banks of the river Laune and continue through the beautiful district of Caragh Lake to the seaside resort of Glenbeigh, which boasts miles of golden sands and rolling waves. The next stage gives panoramic views of Dingle Bay and the island studded Atlantic ocean, passing through the market town of Caherciveen and onto the small picturesque fishing village of Portmagee. We cycle around Valentia Island with its unique scenic beauty and tropical vegetation. We continue around the coast by St. Finans Bay and through the beautiful villages of Waterville, Caherdaniel (the home of Daniel O'Connell, the Irish Liberator) and onto the award winning village of Sneem. We travel along the shore of Kenmare Bay into the bustling heritage town of Kenmare and onto Killarney via Molls Gap and Killarney National Park. This is a trip you will never forget. You are free to choose your own routes, between the accommodation, but you have the service of a back up van - a phone call away - if things go wrong and to transfer your luggage. The average daily cycling distance is a comfortable 15 - 31 miles or 24 - 50km. The tour starts and finishes in the beautiful town of Killarney, where we kit you out with your bike. Dinner is not provided, your overnight host will advise on local pubs and restaurants.

Self guided independent walking tours of Ireland help you discover the many shades of green in the beutiful countryside of Wicklow and Kerry. The most popular of which is the 7 night tour aroung the Ring of Kerry in County Kerry. You walk the waymarked Kerry Way in County Kerry from Killarney to Cahersiveen, nearly 50 miles in all. From Killarney the route goes through the Killarney National Park, where you might be lucky to sight the native red deer or watch otters playing in the stream. You descend to the island-dotted upper lake and into the Black Valley. From here you pass into the rocky and remote glens of Glencar. The route from Glencar ascends to a spot with magical views of Caragh Lake and then goes down to Glenbeigh on the northern edge of the Kerry Way peninsular. Here you will stay 2 nights, to give you the option of a relaxing day off, to follow short local circular walks or even to take advantage of the facilities provided by a nearby Outdoor Adventure Centre - canoeing, windsurfing, and orienteering. From Glenbeigh you follow an early Christian route to Cahersiveen, with detours to archaeological sites, and splendid views across Dingle Bay and out to the Atlantic Ocean to finish. Your last night is back in Killarney where you could take the time to celebrate in an Irish Singing Pub or discover a little more about Irish Culture and Customs in the book and giftshops. You stop in 5 Irish Tourist Board recommended guest or farmhouses along the way, where accommodation is available in twin, double and single rooms all with private facilities. Bed and Breakfast, collection and return from Shannon airport and luggage transfer between the overnight stays, and route notes and maps of the Kerry Way are included.

Self guided walking tours along Dorset Coast and the Purbeck Hills, England

The South Dorset Coast and the Purbeck peninsula are perhaps the jewel in the crown of the South West Peninsula Path. You meander through quiet smuggling villages and coves and chance upon quaint limestone buildings with thatched roofs. You can delight in a traditional cream tea or stop at a local inn and refresh yourself with a pint of real ale or cider. You start the walk from the busy pleasure sailing boat harbour at Weymouth before heading off to the isolated Osmington Mills to stay overnight in an ancient smugglers inn. The walking the next day is a little more strenuous as you go up the small hills and down to miniature smuggling beaches and coves. From the geologically interesting Lulworth Cove you skirt around Purbeck Marine Wildlife Reserve in Kimmeridge Bay and finish the day inland near Corfe Castle. You head out to the fine viewpoint at St Albans Head where almost the whole of the Dorset Coast is visible from. The Purbeck Marble quarries can be viewed down off the cliffs and as you start to head north at Durlston Head you come across the seaside resort of Swanage. The final days walk is around Studland Hill and along the spit of sand where you hop onto the local ferry to cross to the mainland at Sandbanks, passing Brownsea Island and finish your tour overlooking Poole harbour. You stop in country hotels and inns along the way, where accommodation is available in twin, double or single rooms, all with private facilities. B and B, guide book, map and luggage transfer are included in this Dorset Coast and the Purbeck Hills Path tour price.

To celebrate 2007 and the introduction of our new cruise ferry route between Newcastle and Bergen, DFDS are giving away City Cruise Breaks to Bergen which normally cost from 65 pounds per person. On these wonderfully relaxing short cruise breaks to Bergen, the Gateway to the Fjords in Western Norway, you sail the brand new addition to the DFDS Seaways fleet. With three nights on board the ferry and plenty of time to explore the heart of Bergen, you really get a feel for the enormity of the majestic West coast fjords on these short breaks to Norway. Bergen is Norway's second largest city and apart from the stunning scenery, has a great deal of culture and charm, with a wide range of museums, art galleries, and architectural buildings of interest, especially the array of wooden buildings. From Newcastle to Haugersund, Bergen and Stavanger. From Newcastle to Ijmuiden and Amsterdam. From Harwich to Esbjerg. Additional route from Copenhagen to Oslo.

Low cost flights from Germany through Europe with TUIfly.com

Low cost flights from Germany through Europe with TUIfly.com In summer 2007, the TUI AG Group in Germany owns 56 aircraft, which means that TUI operates the third-largest German fleet, carrying more than 13.5 million passengers per annum. As from mid-January 2007, the entire aircraft fleet, which originated from Hapagfly and HLX, will operate under the new, amalgamated airline brand TUIfly. TUIfly offers flights to 75 destinations in 17 countries, at low fares and in the customary high quality. Hapag-Lloyd Flug continues to stand for reliable flight operations, where quality, punctuality and friendly service on board take top priority. TUIfly.com will be expanded into an international airline sales brand. TUIfly headquarters are at Hanover Airport. TUIfly cuts costs in the right places. That is the only way we can offer our customers flights at smile prices. Our costs are only half the level of those of traditional airlines. For example, we do not print out any tickets, run expensive lounges or provide free meals on board, and we use the internet as a sales platform. TUIfly ensures that you enjoy a cheap flight, but not at any price. We do not cut any corners when it comes to safety. Our fleet consists of modern aircraft that is checked and serviced at regular intervals in accordance with the relevant regulations. Check for low cost flights to and from Bari, Berlin-Tegel, Bilbao Biarritz Coast, Birmingham, Bonn, Bremen, Catania Sicily, Cologne, Dublin, Dubrovnik, Dusseldorf, Frankfurt, Hamburg, Hanover, Innsbruck, Karlsruhe, Klagenfurt Karnten, Leipzig, Majorca, Manchester, Milan, Munich, Munster, Nador Marokko, Naples, Newcastle, Nurnberg, Olbia Sardinia, Osnabruck, Paderborn, Palermo Sicily, Paris, Pisa Florence, Porto, Rijeka, Rimini, Rome-Ciampino, Salzburg, Stockholm, Stuttgart, Valencia, Venice and Zweibrucken. When we publish our summer and winter flight schedules, we have reserved a certain quota of ultra-cheap tickets for 19.99 euro for each flight. That price may be higher for certain long-distance flights to tourist destinations. The earlier you book, the better your chances of securing a ticket for a smile price. But even late bookers still have a chance of obtaining a low-cost ticket, if the flight is not fully booked shortly before the planned departure date. Bargain hunters who are prepared to book spontaneously should subscribe to the TUIfly newsletter to obtain regular information about all special offers, such as the TUIfly Ticket Times which start at 6pm every Tuesday.

Cruise the sunny Greek Islands with easyCruise from 10 pounds sterling per person per night

From Piraeus near Athens you can cruise to Milos, Ios, Amorgos, Naxos, Folegandros, Serifos, Mykonos, Paros and Sifnos. You can take anything from a weekend break to a two week holiday with the chance to visit some of the least travelled but most picturesque, tranquil and historical destinations in the Aegean. Arriving each day by lunchtime, passengers can stroll along some of the prettiest untouched beaches, try the local delicacies in one of the many taverns, discover the charm of the hillside villages or the culture and bustle of Athens and of course, enjoy the stunning views of mountains, hillsides and beaches. Cheap flights link Athens from all over Europe or to complete the adventure try travelling to Greece by train and ferry. No problem! You can travel from Waterloo station to mainland Greece in just 48 hours, with a bed at night in a sleeper on the train and a cabin on the ship, a restaurant for your meals, and great scenery. Sailing across blue seas under even bluer skies past the islands of Ithaca and Kefalonia is a wonderful way to reach Greece. A far more rewarding experience than 3 hours strapped to a seat on a plane, and affordable, too. This is the most wonderful way to reach Greece, just 48 hours from London, with sleeping-cars and restaurant car on the Paris-Italy overnight train, lunch in the restaurant car on the Bologna-Bari train, and best of all, a cruise on a comfortable modern ferry across the sunny Adriatic from Italy to Greece, with the islands of Cephalonia and Ithaca passing slowly to starboard... London Greece: Day 1 - Travel from London to Paris by the Eurostar Train, leaving London Waterloo at 12:09 and arriving Paris Gare du Nord at 15:59. Cross by metro to the Gare de Bercy. Travel from Paris to Bologna overnight on the Palatino train International Rail, leaving Paris Gare de Bercy at 19:00 and arriving in Bologna at 05:58 the next morning. The Palatino is a EuroNight express, with 1, 2 and 3 berth sleepingcars, 4 berth Comfort couchettes and 6 berth ordinary couchettes. There is a restaurant car for dinner and breakfast. Day 2 - Travel from Bologna to Bari by fast, air-conditioned Eurostar Italia train leaving Bologna at 08:56 and arriving Bari at 14:52 Eurostar Train. There is a restaurant car, credit cards are accepted. The train follows the Adriatic coast for much of the way. In Bari, you can take a 25 minute walk or take a taxi to the ferry terminal, which is next to Bari's attractive old town. Sail from Bari to Patras in Greece on the Blue Star and Superfast Ferries leaving Bari daily at 20:00 and arriving Patras at 12:30 the next day. You can book a deck place, good if you have your own sleeping bag, or a reclining seat or a berth in various types of cabin, including luxury cabins. The ship is modern and comfortable, with restaurants, bars and sun decks. Strolling the decks in the morning sun as the ship sails past the islands of Cephalonia and Ithaca is the nicest part of the trip, and it is a wonderful way to arrive in Greece. In Patras, the ferry arrives in the town centre just two minutes walk from the railway station, which is just outside the ferry dock to the right. Day 3 - Travel from Patras to Athens by train, leaving Patras at 13:55 and arriving Athens Larissa station at 17:28. As of January 2006, this journey now involves taking an InterCity train on the classic narrow-gauge line as far as Korinthos and changing there onto the newly-completed standard-gauge fast line to Athens. A small InterCity supplement is charged. It's an enjoyable and scenic trip, as the train follows the blue waters of the gulf of Corinth for much of the way - look out for the new bridge at Rhion, and the crossing of the deep Corinth Canal soon after leaving Korinthos.
