WallpaperSync beta now available to the public, try it out now!

We’re happy to announced that a beta version of WallpaperSync is now available to the public!

The beta is only available on Windows for now, but we’re working hard on the Mac OS X and iPhone/iPad versions.

What next?
-install it on a few windows machines
-enter your login information on each machine
-change your wallpaper the way you would normally do (through the Display control panel, or by right clicking on an image)
-the wallpaper should be transfered to each computer automatically
-send bug reports

Do you want a beta invite for WallpaperSync?

We’re currently looking for testers for the Windows client for now (the Mac OS X and iPhone versions are still on the way).

Make sure you:

Run Windowx XP (or more recent)
Are willing to send back suggestions and bug reports
Are willing to update to recent beta build a few times a week

iPhone OS 4 will let apps update the wallpaper

It looks like iPhone OS 4 (coming out this summer), will allow applications to modify the device’s wallpaper.

Also, from the demo screenshots, it looks like the iPhone will finally able to have a wallpaper for the “Home" Screen” and the “Lock Screen”, like the iPad does.

I’m looking forward to try out the new SDK and integrating this into WallpaperSync!

WallpaperSync: Prototypes now running on Windows, Mac OS X and iPhone

Progress on WallpaperSync has been going pretty well for the past few weeks.

A basic prototype of the web site is now functional (but not available to the public yet), as well has the Windows, Mac OS X and iPhone clients.

Once a few more features have been added and few more bugs fixed, we’ll announce more info about the beta invites, if you’re curious to try it out.

Working on WallpaperSync

I’ve been working for a few weeks on WallpaperSync, a wallpaper syncing web site and client for Windows, Linux, Mac OS X, and iPhone/iPad.

For now I’m working on the web site, and the Windows client.

Once those are more stable, i’ll be working on a Mac version and an iPhone/iPad version.

Looking forward for your suggestions and feedback!
