I started this blog to keep my family and friends in touch with the places I got the chance to visit. It's not everyday that I got the time to travel so I kept photos to remind me of the places I've been.

First stop: Baguio City where I grew up.

The City of Baguio is located in Northern Luzon. Designated as The Summer Capital of the Philippines on June 1, 1903, Baguio is well known for its cold weather. And incorporated as a City by the Philippine Assembly on September 1, 1909. The city is at an altitude of approximately 5100 ft in the Luzon Tropical pine forest ecoregion conducive to the growth of mossy plants and orchids.

Baguio Cathedral (top right)

The Baguio Cathedral, the majestic church located on top of a hill in the heart of the city and one of the most visited landmarks of Baguio. From Session road, it is accessible to pedestrians who ascend long concrete stairways of more than a hundred steps. My mom, though hates the steps saying she's too old for a climb :)

See the buildings on top of the hill? It's actually residential houses. (our's isn't there) Baguio, as years passed by, is actually growing in population.

Anyone who visited Baguio knows this park, the Burnham Park, named after the American Architect and Urban planner, Daniel Hudson Burnham who laid the plans for the city. If you want to relax for free, (not minding the group of religious sects asking for love offering) then this is the right place to be. The park though offers a boat ride for P60 per 30 minutes and additional P10 if you're too ignorant to row. hehehe. My sister says you're lucky if the lake's quite clear of boaters then they will allow P60 for an unlimited ride.

Philippine Military Academy

Philippine Military Academy. It is the training ground for future officers of the Armed Forces of the Philippines. I'm not a fan of these people but I admire their discipline not to mention their willingness to die for the country and their motto: COURAGE, INTEGRITY, LOYALTY.

Baguio City is one of the best places to visit when you want to escape from the summer heat, commune with nature or just hang out with friends. They have other attractions like Camp John Hay, Lourdes Grotto and of course Saint Louis University.

Been there.. and will keep coming back.
