again. This time at Gliwice, Poland. Tournament format was set to Late War 1500 points. Let's see how we were performing.

Gliwice is nice Polish town in Upper Silesia. It is known for so called Gliwitz incident at the beginning of WWII, which happened 31st August 1939.

Q1: Hi Rob, can you introduce yourself a bit, please?
"Rob Shirley, 60 years old, travelling round the world with my wife, the two big reasons were the 100th Gallipoli and 200th. Waterloo Commemorations. We left NZ and flew to Perth, Western Australia (7.5 hour flight) on 26 March. With 2500 other Australians and New Zealanders travelled by Cruise Ship on the original WW 1 route that the 1st ANZAC’s travelled to Gallipoli. 25 April 2015 was the 100th commemoration of the landings on the Gallipoli Penninsular. The ship was chartered by a travel firm in South Australia. We called into Sri Lanka, Egypt Turkey, Greece (including Santorini and Mykolas), Sicily and we got off the ship in Naples. We had been in Italy for a month about 4 or 5 years ago. The next phase was visiting some of the WW2 Battlesites where NZ troops fought at in 1944 and 1941. Monte Cassino, Crete and Mt Olympus in particular.

Prague ETC Training EW 1550 Points - Report 2.5.2015

After last year great tournament held in Lesany Oct 2014, I have organized smaller event for club

Ogri Doupe, where we are playing in Prague. Unfortunately many people dropped, but in the end we have been left in 5 participants - Michal Jozwiak from Lodz, Roman Liebich from Prague, Jiri Drapal from Brno, Darregh Cullen - Irish living in Dresden and me. As I expected we have some fun, so it is forth sharing with you.

I had first met Michal and Kamila, so we went to see first on Saturday evening ice hockey match between Czech Republic and Sweden (Icehockey Championship 2015 opening game in Prague). We had lots of fun including 9 beers in total, which made me happy for upcoming games.

As we haven't had standard participation 8+ players, we have decided to make whole event shorter by 1 day. We have chosen to play 2 games on Saturday and have some fun.

How to paint 15cm NW41 rocket launchers in 2 days

15cm NW41 rocket launchers is one of the most frequent piece of artillery for Germans in Flames of War. Why? Well, it is cheap, it can destroy a tank by penetrating top armor and it can smoke. I have recieved to paint GE590 from my friend for his Early War German army. He wants to have ideally Germans close to Early period on muddy terrain with dust and tussock grass parts. KV-1: Painting Zvezda 15mm tank, Part 2

Let's start painting step-by-step Zvezda KV-1 obr 1940 kit. In fact this whole process took me about 2 weeks, because lack of time and also I was not happy with model assembly. When cut off of sprues, I wanted to add magnet, so the turret can be easily removed, then glued the rest of the kit. I believe this is just my own personal preference, but I really hate this part with Zvezda models particularly. Besides some different measures in comparison to other manufacturers, I think main disadvantage of Zvezda kits in general is it's assembling and customizing for Flames of War game. Anyways, some might say: "What would you expect for 4 bucks?"...

I have decided to assemble and paint KV-1 obr. 1940 for one of my armies and practice before some more demanding paintings as a practice. I was choosing between Battlefront and Zvezda models.

"Победа будет за нами" means "Victory will be ours".

As I own both of them, I have chosen for this article Zvezda models. First let's find something more about this awesome tank from beginning of WWII, which was the wreath for German panzers during the Operation Barbarossa.

Plastic Soldier Company New Releases

New 88mm and tractor soon!

Great alternative to Flames of War models are Plastic Soldier kits. I must say I can't wait till some of new kits will be released. I guess I will be crazy especially about 88mm, as I need to finish many of these excellent guns for my Early War and Late War armies, desert, winter and summer themed armies. I like on these models very good quality, crew always included (in opposite to Zvezda models) and moreover they are still for reasonable price.

How it all started?

I have started with wargaming hobby about 20 years ago, when my friend Petr Anderle told me, that owners of well known gaming magazine Score looking for a shop assistant in a geek store in Prague. I liked the idea, as I was fun and player of Draci Doupe RPG game in 90's - Czech version of Dangeons&Dragons, so I have passed interview with Nick Pendrell and Oldrich Hejtmanek and started to work there as of 1996. This way I got into the Warlord store with Bob Koutsky, my colleague in Ckalova street, Prague 6.
