Mine seems to be speaking a different language. Can’t understand what it is saying, sounds like its been drinking too much VB and wants to sleep it off!!!

There has been some nice editions to the whole Campaign by adding Desktop Widgets and some extra competitions, but I think they dropped the ball. There has been plenty of advertising on the Cricket. Most of the sight screens around the country have had Warnie’s characture  on them and lots of the boundary fences as well.

The problem I see is that my Warnie figurine that has sat on my cupboard since I got it in December has done nothing! Not only that, but I can’t make it do anything either. Lasts years Boony/Beefy dolls where fantastic (and still are. Often I joke to the wife, “what would Boony say about this”, I then press his button and get a comment) in that firstly the random comments went off for things like Melbourne Cup, Queens Birthday, Christmas, New Years, etc. This meant that you always kept Boony and Beefy around to see what they where going to say and when they would say it.

Warnie, to my knowledge, hasn’t said a word yet! The Cricket season seems like it is almost over. The Indian test series is on its last day. The T20 match between the T20 World Champs, India and the One Day World Champs, Australia is on this Friday and then we start the One Days and Warnie Comes to life.

Also the package claims that we are back to having the communications kicked off from signals kicked off from the TV but I am hoping that this isn’t the case or at least it isn’t totally based on the TV interaction as the first dolls where plagued by problems with this interaction but did seem to go off on a timer.

So this years doll/figurine has been the best looking but worst yet. Lets hope they continue the campaign next year but return to the button operation of the Boony/Beefy dolls.

As the title says, have already got in and put in my order for my Warnie. You should do the same as you never know what he might be saying this year!

On another note, I found tonight that people are already selling codes and figurines on eBay at possibly jacked up prices. If you are going to buy a code or a Figurine from eBay, please do some home work and make sure your not being ripped off.

The interesting thing is that Ford are running with a backyard cricket theme themselves and also have a game. You choose from two teams and then decide on your batsman. You get 5 overs of 6 balls to get as many runs as possible. I should have mentioned that you first choose 6 object and get differing runs for hitting them. Of course you get six for hitting it over the fence (it Bill Lawry’s Backyard) but disappointingly your not out (as normally is the case in backyard cricket (okay, in the context it wouldn’t make sense)) but lose 2 runs if you get bowled.

Personally, I prefer the game play of the Ford game, but some of the comments from Warnie on his game are worth the play. Find below a video with me playing a little of each of the games.Let me know in the comments which you prefer.

Speaking of Murali, I agree with Terry Jenner that he should be tested under match conditions. I’m sure he is sick of it all, but it would be well worth the exercise and hassle. I think for his own peace of mind and everyone in world cricket, do the testing in the heat of battle — a Test match. Surely the ICC, Sri Lanka and Murali would want that.

So the guys friendship will go on and I am sure that Warnie will be one of the first to contact Murali when he finally does break his record. Wonder if the Warnie Figurine will make any comment on Murali. Probably not as he isn’t here for the One Days (I don’t think).
