Diablo 3 Hell Mode Drives Me To Drinking

I am okay with harder levels. It is how the hardness is factored into Diablo 3 that flat out just gets annoying. They have made certain elite mobs spawn together, and do these laser light shows. At least that is what I am calling them.

These mobs are easy to kill one versus one, but putting three together that do a laser light show is nearly impossible. It is like Blizzard intentionally wants you to waste gold repairing so you will have to use the real money auction house to buy any equipment.

I would be okay with it if it just required a strategy, but really there isn't one. You can't just pull one because they are interconnected bring a friend type of mobs. In case that wasn't enough they stick a mini boss in the middle of them. You have no choice but to do suicide damage runs until eventually you kill them.

I have found it much easier just to drink heavily, and than you just don't care as much about dying. Otherwise, I just feel the urge to break my keyboard across my knee over, and over. I guess that is why they call it the hell mode, but I would rather just have more mobs with higher health, and not some stupid elite super laser light show.

Why is vitality the most important stat in Diablo 3? It plays into the same thing in MMORPG's that the more health you have the longer you live. It doesn't matter if your strength is 4293 if your health is 6487 than you will be dead long before you kill stuff.

I know I have had this debate over, and over in games. It is just plain simple that if you are dead you aren't killing. I did this myself in Diablo 3 for some reason. It wasn't until I played with Christopher Morin that I realized how I gimped myself.

I visited the AH, and bought everything with Vitality. My health went from 6k to 20k. I am sure I will be using fewer health pots, and dying almost never. I couldn't believe I improved my health by that much. It made a huge difference in all of my battles after that.

I am still asking myself why I was so worried about the strength stat before. I totally pulled a noob move. I just wanted to let others know so they don't go through the same frustrations as I have for normal, and nightmare mode. It seems like a piece of cake now.

How to Defeat Maghda in Diablo 3: Strats for Barbarian

I have this fight down. I defeated it in Nightmare tonight with ease. I will explain how to defeat Maghda in Diablo 3 for a Barbarian, but the actual strats should work for most classes.

I won't go over all the spell details, but you can check out the screenshot that shows my skill setup, and spellbar rotation. It is pretty simple strat. I use revenge a bunch for free heals basically. Be sure to use ignore pain, and use your ancients to help fight.

Maghda has a few things she does. She will pop an immunity bubble, and spawn some minions. You have to kill all her minions to pop the immunity bubble. While she roams with the immunity bubble she will cast like an insect swarm. Be sure to avoid it at all costs. Try to stay behind a pillar to kill the minions if possible.

The fight is actually pretty simple. I had no problem killing her today. I learned a ton from this fight in normal mode that Nightmare mode seemed like a piece of cake. Just be sure to attack her every time you pop her immunity bubble, and eventually you will win the fight.

Yes, I did it. I killed Diablo with ease being a Barbarian. I killed him the first try with no close calls. It seemed like one of the easiest fights in the game. Basically the whole strat is to stay away from his fire circles on the ground, and when he turns while blowing fire. Otherwise the fight is really a piece of cake.

Some of the offensive/defensive spells used is Frenzy, Ignore Pain, Threatening Shout, Ground Stomp, the one with 3 minions, and Revenge. I think for passives I used Nerves of Steel, Tough as Nails, and one other. You can check out the screenshot below to check out my exact spell setup, and rotation on my hotbar.

I finished Act III tonight in Diablo 3. I managed to kill Azmodan with ease. I just spammed about six spells when the cooldowns were up. The only real strat is to stay out of the black glowing circles of lava. Otherwise there should be no problem killing him. Here is few screenshots showing the beginning, and end of the fight along with my skill setup I used during the fight. Basically I used 1,2,3,4, and right and left mouse clicks.

Call me a noob I guess. I went almost 20 levels before I realized that in Diablo 3 you can give your scoundrel a weapon, two rings, and a neck piece. I kept wondering why the guy was a pile of nothing, and basically worthless. Just hit F in the game to bring up his character display, and equip the items. On top of that they also level up skills every five levels. It made a huge difference once I selected spells, and gave him some upgraded equipment.

I killed Belial, and it ended Act II in Diablo 3. It roughly took me 8 hours. A little quicker than Act I. It puts my total play time for Act I, and Act II at 18 hours, and 23 minutes. I have now moved on to Act III, and the story moves on to kill Azmodian. I am sure he is the final boss in Act III.

Yes, I killed this morphing pain in the you know what solo at level 23 with my Barbarian. It took a few times, but I readjusted some of my skills, and he became a piece of cake to kill. I never even had to use a health potion the entire fight All I can say is spam Ignore Pain, and Threating Shout every time the cooldown is done. I will show you screenshots of my skill setup that made it real easy to kill this boss in Diablo 3.

Yes I just said it. I hate your guts. I haven't figured out a strat yet, but very soon you will be like Ned Stark in Game of Thrones. You have to start the whole event over if you die which is a pain in the rear end.

It seems like I am doing good. I knock him out easy in the first fight. The second fight I get him about halfway, and he starts spitting acid balls, or whatever they are. I die almost instantly once he starts doing that. I need to figure out some way to be able to beat him.

The problem is if you die in the second fight it doesn't just restart there, but instead all the way back to the first fight. It is driving me crazy, and the reason I hate his guts. I will eventually conquer him, and he can kiss my behind.

I think I made it to level 23 tonight, and I am sure the Belial fight ends Act II. I can't wait to get to Act III.

Finally I figured out how to kill the stupid witch. I just stuck close by, and killed all her minions. The immunity bubble would pop, and I just pounced frenzy, and rend on her. I killed her really easy. It was weird all these other times it seemed so hard, and the time I kill her it was a piece of cake. It figures. I am stuck again. The dirty little witch keeps killing me. I have tried so many strats it isn't even funny. I must really fail at boss fights. I think I am going to have to co-op it, and have someone carry me.

Can it really be that hard. I actually watched a Youtube video, and the person literally stands there the whole time. I stand there, and die five seconds later. Am I missing something? It really has drove me to drinking today to keep my RAGE at a minimum.

I just hate getting stuck. It takes all the fun out of the game. I think maybe my gear sucks, or I am using the wrong spells, or something. I am level 18 so I think that should be good. Here are some of my current strats that failed miserably:

Using a two handed weapon with Frenzy, and Cleave.

Using my damage reducing AOE which the name has slipped my mind at the moment.

I know Maghda is immune once she spawns her little minions to fight for her. I try to kill them really quick while trying to avoid her. The bubble pops, and I start whacking on her. She bubbles again. Rinse, and repeat while humping the pillar. Eventually I get low on health, and my potion is on cooldown, and I die. It is sucking my gold like crazy.

I was tired of dying in Diablo 3 due to lag. It seemed that my spells were taking 1-2 seconds, or at least it felt that way. I just felt I was never getting the jump on the hoards of mobs running towards me, and died way to often in easy trash mob fights. It was really frustrating, and drove me to drinking yesterday. I know I am better than that.

I really tried all these other free fixes. I saw no results from any of it. I spent hours during the server downtime adjusting video settings, and still lag city. I just didn't understand it. My computer is less than two years old, and I recently upgraded to the new 550ti graphic card. It just makes no sense why my computer was lagging so much.

It was to the point that I was just going to ragequit Diablo 3. I refuse to buy a new computer just to play Diablo 3 when my computer should be running it with no problem. I even talked with Comcast, and they said my signal was fine. I just wanted to pull my hair out.

By total accident I found a video on Youtube. I watched the video, and everything in the video made sense. I went to the site , and downloaded the free trial. I immediately saw amazing results. I decided it was worth the $5.99 a month to get the full program subscription.

I am back enjoying Diablo 3 again. All this time before I thought I was losing my touch, and was just bad at gaming now. I now know it was lag causing me to be so bad. I no longer have to drown my sorrows with drinking every night.

Here are some screenshots to prove that this really works. I took these screenshots on Thursday 5/17/12 around 10 PM pacific time. You can compare the latency yourself, and see the huge difference. It is a testimonial all by itself.

I know you don't have to tell me. Some people have finished the game almost in that amount of time. I am exploring every square inch so it is taking a while longer to complete. I rushed through Kingdoms of Amular, and decided this time I am going to do everything.

I met Jimi on my Diablo 3 hangout tonight, and we tag teamed The Butcher, and finally defeated him. He is a pain in the you know what. It was nice to finally finish Act 1. We played for a little bit in Act II together, and I enjoyed playing co-op. It really breaks up the monotony of soloing. I did keep going once he logged off, and I am now doing the boss fight of Maghda or whatever her name is. I did a trial run, and it looks like it is going to be another rager.

All in all I am really enjoying the game.

I think I need to sedate myself with some beer. The butcher in Diablo 3 is really making me rage. How hard can it be to kill him? It seems so easy, but it never fails that I keep dying.

Did I tell you how much I hate the ground turning into fire? It is making me really angry as many times it has killed me now. I try to run, but it is like impossible to escape.

I am not sure what level he is, but I am 15. I may have to wait a few more levels or something. I am going to try one last attempt, and see if the fire goes in a pattern or if it's random. There has to be a way to beat the butcher at my level as a Barbarian.

I am loving Diablo 3 right now. I am a little surprised myself. Initially when beginning to play I realized that the game was click to move. I hate click to move with a passion. I don't know why, but it seems to be no big deal in Diablo 3. It just seems normal.

Speaking of click to move I really need to break a nasty habit. It is like my left hand is drawn to the WASD keys. Every time I am in the middle of a fight I hit one of the keys, and some pop up window comes up, and I can't see anything until I close it. It is going to take a while to get used to it I think. I keep trying to keep my fingers up on the numbers, but it never fails that somehow they end up on WASD. I am sure it is from years of typing that my fingers are drawn to those keys.

The game just rocks. I love everything about it so far. It is easy to figure out, and you are never stuck trying to figure out what you are doing next. The game has a really good flow to it. There are a few annoying things that every RPG has which is breaking stupid stuff for worthless amounts of gold.

I love the crafting so far. It is simple, and easy. I can't wait to start making some really cool stuff. I basically just started the crafting, but have already made some pretty good upgrades compared to what I had.

The Skeleton King had my number the first couple of times. It was easier once I figured out some strats to beat him. It felt really good to win that fight.

I never really followed this game so I am a bit lost on the real money auction house. I don't see anything in game, but maybe I am just missing it. I did read that it may take a few days for people who digitally download to get access.

Create Your Own Voice

I have another great article to contribute to the Newbie Blogger Initiative. It is really simple just make sure you create your own voice. Do not try to be like another blogger. Don't just post stuff that can be found on the official websites like news, and patch notes.

No one will visit your gaming blog if all you do is rush to be the first person to post the patch notes. I personally do not visit blogs that do this. If I want to read the patch notes I know where to go already which is the official URL of the game.

I go a step further in posting patch notes I break down almost every change, and explain why it will, or won't work. This is what causes your readers to interact, and post their opinions. Unfortunately if you just post the patch notes with no commentary you will be very lonely on your blog.

You really need to create your own voice. You won't go nowhere if you just become a fanboi of the game. No game is perfect, and don't pretend it is. I would avoid any invites, or special interviews from gaming companies. You will than become biased, and feel like you can never say anything negative about the game.

You can ask any of the gaming bloggers who are sponsors, and they will tell you that I am very negative usually about games I won't deny it I am very picky about the games I play, and I know that alot of dev eyes see my blog. I just don't write to get attention. I feel that I post some pretty good information that devs should look at to improve their game.

You need to do the same. If you just post news announcements, and patch notes your gamng blog will die a very quick death. You will need to be very strong willed, and stand up to all the players who don't see it your way You have to stand your ground Do not give in.

I canniot stress enough about how important it is to have your own voice. You have to stand out from all the other bloggers. Be ready to have many bloggers block you. Unfortunately many bloggers are thin skinned, and any negativity they uncircle, unfollow, or whatever. Don't worry. For every uptight blogger that unfollows you about 10 more people will follow you.

Gamers want to know the truth. They don't want someone influenced by trips to the gaming headquarters, free copies of games, or whatever. I just say don't let the gaming companies control how you really feel about a game. I guarantee that players willl respect you so much more for telling them the truth about games than tricking them into wasting $50 bucks for a game.

One of my favorite settings is the automatic posting to Twitter of my blog posts along with hashtags. It makes it really easy. You can find it under the Social tab.

Are you looking to earn a few extra dollars on your gaming blog? Do you want the easiest, and best payouts? I have two different affiliate programs that I highly recommend. You could start earning money today. I wanted to share another great article for the Newbie Blogger Initiative.

I know you are probably thinking I am going to say to use Google Adsense. You are actually wrong. I initially tried this one, and the payout was horrible. Most clicks earn you only pennies, and you only get paid once you build up $100. It just isn't worth it in my opinion.

The first one that is actually worth it is WTFast which reduces game lag. The WTFast affiliate program actually has monthly residual income. It just isn't a one time click payout. If they keep using the product than you earn the payout every month which averages about $1.20.

It is similar in structure to Amway. You can not only sell there services for fixing lag, but you can get other affiliates under you, and they can get affiliates under them. The money just keeps rolling in. Your customer base grows every month for the most part so your income gets bigger every month.

I currently earn close to $200 a month just from this advertising alone. It isn't a huge chunk of money, but it definitely thickens the wallet a little bit. If you want to start advertising WTFast on your gaming blog than I can help you do that by following the link.

The second one I am just trying out recently. It is being a Go Daddy Affliate. It pays out 30% on every sale. It's a good payout. I am not real sure if it is going to tie in on my gaming blog, but I figured with all the new bloggers they could get a domain for dirt cheap.

I personally think having a real domain is important. It just looks a bit tacky when a gaming blog has a .blogspot, or .wordpress at the end of their URL. If you need any help setting these two up I can help you add them to your blogger.
