They say that writing regularly on your blog is probably one of the best things you can do, which is why I try to post at least twice a week. There was a time when I used to post three times a week and then I cut back to two because of a lack of time. One thing I noticed after cutting back to two posts a week was that my Alexa ranking started to creep up. As most of you know Alexa basically monitors the amount of traffic to your site and so one can assume that more posts leads to more traffic, although I’m sure you can overdo it and too many posts could drive your readers away.

To test the theory I’ve decided to go back to three posts a week to see if it will improve my Alexa ranking. As I’m still pretty strapped for time and because I get a lot of funny emails I’ve decided to a series of posts called Friday Funnies, and yes I will be posting every Friday, which will probably the most regular thing in my life

Friday Funnies #1 One For The Women

Housework was a woman’s job, but one evening, Janice arrived home from work to find the children bathed, one load of laundry in the washer and another in the dryer Dinner was on the stove, and the table set. She was astonished!

It turns out that Chuck had read an article that said, ‘Wives who work full-time and had to do their own housework were too tired to have sex’.

The night went very well. The next day, Janice told her Red Hat friends all about it. ‘We had a great dinner. Chuck even cleaned up the kitchen. He helped the kids do their homework, folded all the laundry and put it away. I really enjoyed the evening.’

‘But what about afterward?’ asked her friends.

‘Oh, that………. Chuck was too tired.’

God is good.

OK, I’m assuming that most women would have found that joke to be funny but as a bloke I can honestly say I wasn’t all that amused, the reason being that as a bloke I know that when it comes to sex we are never that tired. I bet if that housewife turned over in bed and grabbed Chuck’s old fella he would be up and raring to go.

Friday Funnies #2 Xmas Post Office

There was a man who worked for the Post Office whose job was to process all the mail that had illegible addresses.

One day, a letter came addressed in a shaky handwriting to God with no actual address. He thought he should open it to see what it was about.

The letter read:

Dear God,

I am an 83 year old widow, living on a very small pension. Yesterday someone stole my purse. It had £100 in it, which was all the money I had until my next pension payment.

Next Sunday is Christmas, and I had invited two of my friends over for dinner. Without that money, I have nothing to buy food with, have no family to turn to, and you are my only hope. Can you please help me?

Sincerely, Edna

The postal worker was touched.. He showed the letter to all the other workers. Each one dug into his or her wallet and came up with a few pounds.

By the time he made the rounds, he had collected £96, which they put into an envelope and sent to the woman.

The rest of the day, all the workers felt a warm glow thinking of Edna and the dinner she would be able to share with her friends.

Christmas came and went.

A few days later, another letter came from the same old lady to God.

All the workers gathered around while the letter was opened.

It read:

Dear God,

How can I ever thank you enough for what you did for me?

Because of your gift of love, I was able to fix a glorious dinner for my friends. We had a very nice day and I told my friends of your wonderful gift.

By the way, there was £4 missing.

I think it might have been those bastards at the post office.

Sincerely, Edna

I don’t know about you but I sure as heck wasn’t expecting that and that made it funny.

Send me an email if you have any posts that you think is funny and if I like it I’ll link to it in the next Friday Funnies post. Until then here are some funny books and stuff that you may enjoy.

It also allows us to buy and sell things online whereas before we were limited to printed media or having to place ads on local bulletin board.

The obvious advantage of going online, whether to buy or sell products, is twofold. The first is that you instantly get access to a huge market and the second is its so easy get or find you product or service online. As an example lets look at selling your car online. In the old days of being restricted purely to news papers and such you were very limited to the amount of information in your ad because they would charge you per word and forget using a photo as that alone would cost you an arm and a leg. Sure you could place an ad on the local bulletin board that could include a photo and as much text as you like but then you’re limiting yourself to local passerby therefore limiting your market.

So in reality, even though it wasn’t all that cost effective, your best option used to be the various print media and they used to be great in their day but unfortunately do not have as wide a distribution as what’s available online.

So, let’s say you want to sell your car online the question is How to sell your car online? Naturally that would depend on what site you choose to sell your car. The one I’m using as an example in this post is an English company and I’m using them as their method of selling your car is rather unique. You start off by entering you car registration, if you don’t have one you simply give them a description of the car. Once they have your rego it enters their database and within moments you get an offer! I found that you can get an instant offer online for car pretty amazing

If you accept their offer they will transfer the money to your account and the car remains in your possession until you have received confirmation from you bank that the money has been deposited. Once you’re happy that the money is where you want it you just tell them where to pick up the car, whether at home or work and they will pick your car up for free.

I found that you could sell your car online, without even having to place an ad, pretty bloody amazing.

So, tell me, have you ever seen such a service before. Have you ever sold a car online and if so what was your experience. For my non English readers, does such an online service exist in your country. If you having anything to ad please feel free to leave a comment.

Its very important for men and most important to women. Yep, you guessed it, I’m talking about Valentine’s day! It’s very important that men don’t forget it and really important to the women that the men remember how important it is to the women. They may argue the point but I’m pretty sure that most men out there have had to deal will women after forgetting to show their appreciation for them by showing their love on this most auspicious day. As important as it is to the men and women of this world it’s even more important to the marketers and retailers because they’re the ones that capitalize from this annual event. That being the case there is no reason why us bloggers get in on the action. The way to do that is to use our blogs to market to all those blokes out there who, if they know whats good for them, will give their better half something nice on Valentines day. OK, all you guys out there, there is a very good reason too for not forgetting to buy your better half a Valentines Gift. Forget about what I said about Valentines Day on my Load Of Bullshit blog. Forgetting your better half on Valentine’s day can have dire consequences, anything from not getting laid on the night to getting the silent treatment for some time to come. As to those of

you who have yet to score a girlfriend, this is probably one of the best opportunities you will get to show the woman of your dreams how much you think of her. Who knows, play your cards right and you may land your first girlfriend. The problem that most guys, and a lot of women, have is deciding what to give to their Valentine. Well, that’s cool because I have some very good ideas for you and thankfully for you some of those ideas come straight from one of the most reliable online stores ever. Yep, you guessed it Amazon.

I’ve often wondered about this and I’ve even tried to compare blogs to real word businesses in order to find an answer. Let’s consider a couple of real world businesses to see where some differences may lie. The first one that comes to mind, probably because I’ve been associated with this type of business for most of my life, is the supermarket or corner deli. As long as their premises are neat, tidy and welcoming and their staffs attitude is professional and friendly they’re likely to convert almost every person that comes into their store into sales. The main reason for this is people who come into this type of store are looking for something that they need then and there.

Now lets look at a store that sells TV’s, Hi-Fi systems and the like. They may find it a little harder to convert because not everyone that walks into their store is ready to buy a product then and there. Many are window shopping or even looking for the right product at the right price. However, it is possible to convert these casual shoppers as long as you have the properly trained staff. Staff that are able to approach the prospects without scaring them off. Who are able to get out of the prospects what it is they are looking for and then convince them that they are not only able to offer the best deal but the best after sales service as well. Done correctly, even if the prospect leaves the store many will come back, especially if they do not receive the same service elsewhere, to complete the sale. I know this to be a fact because it’s happened many times while I was working in such a store.

Knowing Who Your Customers Are

In the above examples, as in other such businesses in the real world, they have the advantage in that people walking into their stores know what they’re selling and more importantly are probably wanting to buy something from them, if not now at a later date. This is generally not the case for our blog visitors, especially if the blogger has been using the wrong keywords to attract prospective customers.

Are You Using The Wrong Keywords?

This is something every good blogger must ask themselves. How often have you left in disgust because you landed on a site that had absolutely nothing to do with what you were searching for. While some may blame Google for it the problem usually lies with

Keywords are Important!

the site owner for using the wrong keywords. Their mistake was all they were interested in was traffic rather than getting a lower amount of targeted traffic which has more chance of converting. While traffic may be good for lowering your Alexa ranking its pretty useless unless the people who land on your site are actually looking for the products you have on offer. Traffic that isn’t targeted can be likened to customers who rush into a store just to get out of the rain. They may look around while there but they’re not likely to buy anything and once the rain stops they will continue their journey to the store which has what they’re looking for and are therefore more likely to make a sale.

I have to admit that before Market Samurai I never used to worry about keywords because it was all to hard and I know now what a great mistake that was. It’s better to do some keyword research than to not worry about it at all because otherwise you’re not getting the right traffic reducing any chance at converting traffic into sales.

Knowing Your Audience

An important question to ask yourself is who exactly is reading your blog. This is

Preaching to the wrong audience is like talking to the wind. It’s a waste of breath!

because if you know who your readers are then you have more of a chance at selecting the right products to sell to them. The real reason many bloggers are failing when it comes to marketing is because they’re pushing the wrong products to the wrong people.

Say for example you know that your audience consist mainly of teenagers then you would want to provide products that would interest them. This could be anything from ways of treating acne to the latest iPhone. Find the right products and then you’re finally on a winner.

Take this blog for example, it’s not a niche blog and yet it still provides me an income. Most of my readers are bloggers and therefore most of my money comes from selling blogging related products. My biggest seller to date has been the FlexSqueeze theme and other products include the plugins like CommentLuv Premium and even Andy’s latest IM Graphics plugin. The reason for my success with these two plugins is getting in early and being able to offer them at a discounted price. I’m sure that those who purchased the plugins from me in the early days also offered it to their readers thereby recouping their costs and perhaps even making a profit.

Just so you know those images you see in this post are all thanks to Andy’s latest updates to his IM Graphics plugin and if you act quickly you may still get it at the introductory price. My last post not only explains how it works it also shows you.

So, if you can find out who your audience is you will have a better idea at what products you can market to them Having a niche blog makes the job a lot easier but niche blogs can be boring resulting in poor posts and therefore poor conversions.

The question for many of us is how do you work out who your audience is? The obvious answer is by interacting with your commentators. I’m afraid that alone may not be enough and so I ask you, my loyal and knowledgable readers, how to we learn what category or people are reading our blogs so we can successfully market to them?

I have gotten a lot of emails from people who say that although they love the FlexSqueeze theme the fact that they’ve just purchased a professional theme of their own prevents them from outlaying anymore money on another one. Even so they wish their theme had the ability to incorporate professionally designed images right into their posts or sales / landing pages and, pretty please, is there a plugin or something that would allow them to have at least that portion of flexibility that FlexSqueeze has. Unfortunately I’ve had to disappoint them all by answering in the negative, until now.

Rather than emailing them all with the good news, an impossible feat as I’ve deleted most of their emails, I though the next best thing is to write a post about a plugin I’ve just purchased that will allow them to do just that. Why buy it when FlexSqueeze already has the feature built in? Well two reasons really, the first being I had to get my hands on it to give it a proper review and the second is that I got it at a really good price and you can too if you act quickly!

Is The IM Graphics Plugin For You?

Before I tell you about the IM Graphics plugin I want you to know that the person behind this plugin in none other than Andy Bailey the man behind the CommentLuv plugin and so you can be assured of it’s quality and know that Andy is always there to help when and if it is needed.

In case you’re not aware the IM part stands for Internet Marketers and this plugins is best suited for those of you who are planning to sell stuff on the net. Where most people go wrong when designing their landing pages or writing posts with the intent to sell is that the end result looks so unprofessional and that alone may be the reason why their conversion rates are so low. The problem is that they don’t have the resources to pay for the images required nor the graphical expertise to design their own and that’s where Andy’s IM Graphics Plugin comes in.

I just entered that image with two clicks of the mouse and it’s these sorts of images that will attract peoples attention and help them to focus on what you’re saying. Now I

know there will be some of you who will say that they could do the same thing using the WordPress media library but comparing that to the IM Graphics plugin is like comparing a beat up Volvo to the Brabus Mercedes 800E. They will both get you to your destination but you will get there a lot quicker and with a lot more style with the Mercedes.

I don’t know about you but I am a busy bloke and I don’t have the time to fart arse around. This means if I have to spend a couple of bucks to buy something that will save me time then I will do it. Spending money wisely in order to make yourself more productive is what good business is all about because you can use the time saved being more productive hopefully resulting in more money in your pocket.

If you’re not a proud FlexSqueeze owner and you want the ability to use professionally designed images to make your posts, pages or landing pages stand out from the rest then this is the plugin you’ve been waiting for.

I’m not kidding, you have less than a week to get this plugin at the ridiculously low price of $27. That’s a whole lot better than having to pay $97 which is what the plugin will cost you if you miss out on this great deal. I know how many people are kicking themselves today because they missed out on getting the premium CommentLuv plugin and the special price and ended up paying full tote odds for it!

The Price Includes Professional Images

That’s right, not only do you get the plugin for 27 bucks, Andy has also thrown in a whole pile of quality images to get you going. Watch my video just to get an inkling of some of the images included or follow the link to he IM Graphics plugin page to get an even better idea. The best thing is that you also get the PSD images which will allow you to edit them with complete ease with PhotoShop.

Having said that, I wanted access to even more images and so I paid $49 to get my hands on the Ultimate Squeeze Page Vector Pack which gives me over 250 images

which are also completely editable. Have you ever noticed when you try to enlarge and image or manipulate it in some way how the quality deteriorates dramatically? Well it won’t happen with vector graphics! Like the page says “The Vector Graphics Pack not only contains the layered vector files for each image, but it also contains a fully commented HTML file with all the HTML and CSS needed to quickly create your own professional squeeze pages. Simply copy and paste the code into your sales page and add your content!” This means that even if you’re not a FlexSqueeze owner, if you have access to a HTML editor then there is no reason why you shouldn’t be able to creat your own sales page.

Anyway, I’ve uploaded those files to the plugins image directory so I can show you how it easily manages all your file directories of images.

If there is anything lacking it would be this. Andy, if you’re reading this it would be great if you could incorporate the facility to add a link to an image so that it would link to the product or whatever is being offered. Until then if anyone needs help with doing it manually I’ve included it in my video.

As far as ratings go I give the IM Graphics plugin a rating of 4 out of 5 stars. If Andy was to include that nifty little feature then I would gladly change it to a 5 star rating. As to the graphics pack, that’s a great deal having it included with the plugin but I wanted something more and so I bought the Ultimate Squeeze Page Vector Pack and it’s great that the plugin allowed me to incorporate those images into it.

Is this something that you could use? If not what is it lacking that would cinch the deal?

Honestly people, if you were ever going to do something for me it would have to be to vote for me in the Shorty Awards. It didn’t even know what a Shorty Award was until I read Mitch’s post, My Pitch For The Shorty Award, Being the person that I am I went out of my way to vote for Mitch and it did it not only because I consider him a friend and all round great guy, nope, I did it because he’s a great blogger and I reckon he deserves to win it.

Strangely enough I awoke this morning to a Tweet that someone had nominated me for an award as well, ergo this post, and yes that person was Mitch. Thanks mate Being nominated I don’t expect to win, as like Mitch mentioned in his post this contest started way back in Jan 3rd and although it ends in February 17th we’ve lost almost three weeks in the voting race.

What Is The Shorty Award?

So, what is a Shorty Award? It’s an award that has been running for several years, four to be exact as this is the 4th Annual Shorty Awards, but far be it from me to put words in their mouth. This is straight from their about page.

.

The Shorty Awards honor the best of social media, recognizing the people and organizations producing real-time short form content on across Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr, YouTube, Foursquare, and the rest of the social Web.Every year, millions of people visit the Shorty Awards site to tweet nominations for their favorite social media content creators. All those tweets culminate in a highly anticipated awards ceremony that celebrates the winners in dozens of featured categories, as well as thousands of crowd-sourced community ones. For the second time, the Shorty Awards will also honor the industry’s best agencies, brands, and social media professionals.

Just so you know there are heaps of categories but the only one I’m interested in is not coming last in the blogging one. If that’s not enough incentive for all my loyal fans let me list a few reasons why you should vote for me in the Shorty Awards.

You should Vote For Sire In The Shorty Award Blogger Category because;

I’m two inches off being 6 feet tall which puts me in the short category so I deserve a Shorty Award

I’m and Aussie an all around good guy

I know my way around the blogging world and have amassed one or two followers

So that I don’t win the wooden spoon by coming last in the blogging category, and this could happen because I am last and will remain there unless you people pull your finger out

I actually know a fair bit about blogging, having 9 blogs and combined having written over 3000 posts.

So that I don’t embarrass myself by coming last

Because you love me and want me to have a good chance at getting somewhere near the top

So that when I do win you can pat yourself on the back and can tell everyone that you helped me to win it

Because it will give you an all round fuzzy feeling in the pit of your stomach knowing that you did something nice.

Because if you don’t your comment will be deleted OK, I’m only kidding about that one….or am I?

Well, there are 10 perfectly good reasons why you should vote for me, and just so you know where to go I’m going to make it very easy for you.

Vote For Me!

Just so you know, being a social media site and all, you need to be a Twitter member to vote as the votes have to be tweeted. I’m not sure if you can vote more than once but I don’t mind you experimenting. Unlike Mitch I did vote for myself just to see if it works

So, don’t just sit there thinking about it, click that link and vote for me and then come back and leave a comment, and remember my social blogging status depends on you! And remember when tweeting you need to add a reason why you’re voting for me. I’m sure you can think of something.

It’s been well over a month since I wrote the post about pruning my list to get rid of all the deadwood. By deadwood I’m referring to those subscribers who have never bothered, or hardly ever, to read my emails. Normally I’d just let them go to build up my list numbers except that I’m rewarding my list members by placing a link to their site from my List page and I figured it just wasn’t fair to reward them if they weren’t holding up their end.

That post included a youtube video showing my readers how MailChimps star system highlighted the quality of your subscribers. This post has a video which shows how to use that star system to separate the good subscribers from the bad ones.

Pruning Your List With MailChimp

I have to admit I was surprised how simple the procedure was and I am really glad that I did it. I have to admit there were a few bloggers who were regulars and I struggled with the decision as to whether or not I should delete them with the general culling and in the end I decided it was the only fair thing to do.

The Positives Of Pruning Your List

I know that there were a few comments in that first post where people thought I was crazy for pruning my list as they felt that the deadwood may actually come to life one day. Well, as far as I’m concerned deadwood is deadwood and you’re better off clearing them out of the way so you can concentrate on growing your live limbs.

There are also certain positives for pruning your list.

If you have a large list and are paying for the amount of emails you’re sending out pruning your list will reduce those costs.

Having a more dedicated list will also improve your open and click through rate which will give you a nice warm fuzzy feeling when you check your campaign reports

In my situation I know I am only rewarding those subscribers who are actually interested in what I have to say which is as it should be.

I’ve also made sure that any new subscribers know what to expect when subscribing to my list, that I only want dedicated members, ones who actually read my emails occasionally and that I will be pruning my list on a regular basis.

What’s that, how many did I cull in the pruning process? Reckon you’ll have to watch the video to see that.

Ok, this is the second Sunday in a row that I’ve done a post that’s only because I’ve been so busy working during the week. Oh well, at least the money will come in handy

Anyway, after he last few posts where I introduced you to the best ever WordPress comment system, a brand new Social Network system and a plugin that improved the quality of comments that you’ve been getting I’ve decided to make this post a fun one, one that will entertain you and hopefully put a smile on your face.

Have you calmed down yet? Perhaps you would be interested to know what the world was like when you were born? Obviously it was vastly different from what we’re experiencing today, This link will show you what the world was like on the year you were born. Speaking about days gone by, here’s a joke about dating way back in 1958, the year that I was born!

Peggy Sue In 1958

Dating in 1958

It was a hot Saturday evening in the summer of 1958 and Fred had a date with Peggy Sue. He arrived at her house and rang the bell.

“Oh, come on in!” Peggy Sue’s mother said as she welcomed Fred in. “Have a seat in the living room. Would you like something to drink? Lemonade? Iced tea?”

“Iced tea, please,” Fred said. Mom brought the iced tea.

“So, what are you and Peggy planning to do tonight?” she asked.

“Oh, probably catch a movie, and then maybe grab a bite to eat at the malt shop, maybe take a walk on the beach…”

“Peggy likes to screw, you know,” Mom informed him.

“Uh…really?” Fred replied, with raised eyebrows.

“Oh, yes!” the mother continued. “When she goes out with her friends, that’s all they do!”

“Is that so?” asked Fred, incredulous.

“Yes,” said the mother. “As a matter of fact, she’d screw all night if we let her!”

“Well, thanks for the tip,” Fred said as he began thinking about alternate plans for the evening.

A moment later, Peggy Sue came down the stairs looking pretty as a picture wearing a pink blouse and hoop skirt, and with her hair tied back in a bouncy ponytail. She greeted Fred.

“Have fun, kids,” the mother said as they left.

Half an hour later, a completely disheveled Peggy Sue burst into the house and slammed the front door behind her.

“The Twist, Mom!” she angrily yelled to her mother in the kitchen. “The damned dance is called the Twist!

Now it’s something for the boys. I’ve done several post taking the mickey out of women, like Women & The All About Me Syndrome and maybe even the time when I rewrote the Lyrics to Roy Orbison’s Mean Woman Blues calling It Wassup’s Mean Woman’s Blues. You may even remember the funny video I made of the best ever pick-up line? Well, this next video is for all those blokes who find their eyes straying to a woman’s ample cleavage when they should be making eye contact. Come on guys I know you’ve all been caught doing that at one time or another.

What To Do When Caught Staring At A Woman’s Breasts

The problem is that in real life it doesn’t matter how accurate the logic is you use to make a point it just won’t wash when used against a woman Just kidding ladies, you know I luvs ya

I sometimes try to relate my posts to blogging in some way, whether it’s a blogging tip or simply by means of highlighting a particular point. Not this time though. This time it’s just for the sheer joy of presenting it to you in the hope that you will get some enjoyment from it. If you should take anything at all from it I hope its that you enjoy your blogging because everyone knows it’s those who enjoy what they do who do well at it.

I know there are a lot of people out there who are looking for that special WordPress comment system, one that will make their blog stand out from the rest. I know this because the post I wrote, What Is The Best Comment System For WordPress Blogs, generated a lot of interest, both in comments and in the amount of traffic it gets from the search engines. In that post and in others I’ve always maintained that the default system is the best and I’ve always bagged other comment systems like Disqus, Livefyre and Intense Debate, until now!

The biggest negative those other comment systems have is the extra hoops they put their commentators through just to leave a comment. This one bad point so outweighs any positive features that it’s pointless installing them. I know bloggers who use them will swear by them but if they’re that good why do most of them revert to the default system?

And The Best WordPress Comment System Is?

If you’re going to install any plugin you want to ensure there are benefits to either you or your commentators. If it’s beneficial to both of you then you’re on a real winner. This is especially true when it comes to your comment system as it plays such an integral part to a your blog. Considering its importance I thought I would never install a new comment system as I didn’t think you could improve perfection. How wrong I was!

From all the emails I’ve been getting I know that many of you have noticed something different about the comment system I’m no using. Well, you can stop tearing your hair out because this post will finally reveal all. You’re going to want to read it because without the knowledge contained within you’ll find it extremely difficult to find the right one.

I’ll give you a tip though, it was developed by MailChimp! Yep, the one I use as my autoresponder. I believe this to be important because as a well renowned company they’re not going to put their name on an inferior product. You’ll see their logo on the setup page so it also acts as a great advertisement. I’ve put a bit of a video together for you so I can show you how good this comment system really is.

As you can see I haven’t gone all out in the video as I like to keep my videos short and simple. The video shows you how the comment system works and also how to get the plugin via your WordPress dashboard. If you want a more detailed video as well as a more in depth review you should head on over to Kimberly’s blog and read her post WP Social Plugin For WordPress. If it wasn’t for this post who knows how long before I would, if at all, come across this rather unique comment system. Yep, I continue to call it that even though the guys who put it together refer to it as a Social plugin.

Kimberly has run a few tests and has found it to be compatible with Commentluv, Commentluv Premium, ReplyMe, KeywordLuv/KeywordName and Subscribe To Comments. Unfortunately it doesn’t work with my Smiley plugin which is cool as I’ve found another to take it’s place.

You should also note that your comments will no longer be displayed in the way you were used to as Social uses it’s own method of displaying comments, one that I am pretty happy with. Another positive aspect of this plugin is that you can set it to automatically Tweet your post as well as posting an excerpt to your FaceBook once you have published your post. That’s great for people like me who constantly forget to <del>market</del> promote their posts.

OK, if there are any questions you know where to leave them. I’d really like to get your feedback on this plugin too. Do you like it? If you do why and likewise if you don’t.

I bet there aren’t too many of you guys out there who have heard of Kondoot and if you haven’t don’t feel bad because it hasn’t been live all that long, about May 2011. Having said that the guys at Kondoot have been developing it for about 18 months and although it’s still in the early stages I can see them cementing a foot hold in the social networking market providing people like what they are offering.

The guys behind Kondoot are a couple of Aussies, Mark Cracknell and Nathan Hoad who just happens to have his own blog, nathanhoad.net. I’ve actually been chatting with Ben Hoad, Nathan’s brother and one of the founders and developers of Kondoot, via their live feed which proved to be very interesting.

Naturally people will compare Kondoot to FaceBook because there are certain similarities, apart from them both being developed by a Mark The biggest difference that sets them apart is that Kondoot is a social network based on live broadcast feed which means once a member you can sit in front of your computer and broadcast yourself to the world or just to friends and family.

Kondoot The Good The Bad & The Ugly

One of the things I asked Ben is what Kondoot stood for, I mean you have to admit it <del>sounds</del> looks kind of goofy. “It’s derived from Conduit, basically the idea of being the best way to connect two points” Yep, that makes total sense. We chatted about other things but I’m not about to bore you with all the details. What I will say is that it’s early days for Kondoot and there are a lot of things on the drawing board, things that will make Kondoot a force to be reckoned with when it comes to the social network market.

As a blogger I always look for things that I can use to market one of my blogs. Like FaceBook once you become a member you can set up pages to promote your blog or business. I set one up to promote my Lotto site and as you can see from my page it’s really pretty basic because there’s not all that much that you can do with it at the moment, something that Ben says they are working on.

There are a couple of positives about setting up a page on Kondoot, apart from being able to promote your business. You can see the first one by studying the image below. As you can see I can post comments using either my original login name or my page persona. The other is I can also choose from the two when deciding to do a video broadcast. If you’re lucky enough to have employees working for you then you can also give them admin privileges so they are able to make changes to your page.

Probably the biggest thing about Kondoot, as well as being their biggest money spinner, is their unique broadcasting platform which allows people to charge others to view their broadcasts. Remember, this is live so bands and musicians could virtually sell tickets, via PayPal, to their fans so they can attend concerts from the comfort of their home.

Another great way to utilise this would be for those of you who wanted to charge people to view a particular webcast. All you need to know is when you want to view it, how much you want to charge, set up the event using kondoots event page and then to get the word out to your prospective viewers. Naturally they will need to join but that won’t be a problem as joining Kondoot is free. As all broadcasts have a group chat feature you can answer any questions people may during the broadcast.

OK, that’s it for now! I’m sure you will have questions and if I can’t answer them I’ll just ask one of the guys from Kondoot. Who knows it may even be Ben who as you can see from the image below has a Space Invaders picture on the wall. What you may not know is that it’s made from post it notes.
