Newzie for windows arrives!

The much awaited RSS reader which was previously available only for mac is finally available for windows. Newzie is feature rich and you can import all your rss subscriptions from your existing reader through OPML files.

It has some interesting features that most of the RSS Readers dont provide like
Watching updates to regular html pages
Get updates on keywords which is extremely useful for tracking specific keywords
A post sweeper feature clears up posts that you have not watched
Supports tabbed windows
All in all, Its free

What’s new in Picasa 3?

The popular photo managing application Picasa from google saw a recent update with loads of new features like previewing with picasa, creating and editing videos, syncing with picasa web albums etc.(see here for the list of new features).

Picasa3 is certainly worth for the new set of changes …

TweetDeck for twitter lovers

Twitter lovers there, TweetDeck is an amazing desktop app for twitter. Apart from the normal twitter client apps, tweetdeck supports a list of extra functionalities like searching tweets and putting it into a deck or you can even group friends into custom groups watch updates from them.

It requires adobe air to run which makes it cross platform(windows,Mac,Linux). I have tried lotta twitter client applications like twhirl, snitter, tweetr and stuff but tweet deck seems to give a amount of flexibility that no other app provides.

YamiPod an iTunes and Floola Alternative

Previously, we had mentioned about an free alternative for iTunes named Floola. Yamipod is another such alternative for iTunes and seems to score better compared to Floola. Its fairly stable than Floola and crashes less often and its also free like Floola.

Yamipod supports all the facilities that Floola provides except for the music playing from ipod on windows. You have to add it to a temporary playlist which kinda sucks. But its stable than Floola.

It can download and upload songs and manage playlists in the same way as iTunes or Floola does.
