As the name suggest the The History of Rome is a weekly podcast about Roman history. This weekly podcast traces the history of the Roman Empire from its humble beginnings to its great decline. I started listening to this podcast a few episodes in, and have been hooked ever since.

The podcast is hosted by Mike Duncan, whose narration is top notch. My knowledge of Roman history is pretty advanced but I learn something every week from this podcast. Each epidsode is a linear march through Roman history. We have finally reached the fall of the Republic and the beginnings of the Empire. The narrative nature of Roman history make for a great podcast. There is such a cast of characters in Roman history that the past comes alive.

I highly recommended anyone with an interest in ancient history to subscribe to the podcast. Mike has recently moved his blog to The History of Rome Blog
