Prison Break Season 4 New Characters:

Don, an FBI handler who offers Michael a way to bring down the Company once and for all.

Penrab, the Company’s top assassin who’s waiting on the sidelines for his chance to attack

Season four is jumping-forward, hit-the-ground-running storytelling. But we are dropping back, in flashback, and explaining how the characters got to where they are and the situation with her, certainly.

The flashbacks are much more economical, and you’ll get it fairly quickly. There are some mysteries that we’re going to extend out, but it’s not going to be the bulk of the season.

There will be a bit of a mystery period where we cover what happened. It becomes about Michael trying to figure out what happened to her. It’s his attempt to reclaim her, and her trying to figure out what happened and dealing with it.

They are finally able to be together, but we are jumping ahead [in time], so there’s that period that’s unaccounted for, so what happened to her, what happened to him and hope they both help each other get past that, get past these…invisible barriers.

There’s no physical barriers anymore between them, but they’re both pretty banged up when they see each other, and it’s about how they get past that to really find that real intimacy.

Wentworth Miller said that if he had to describe Prison Break Season 4, the phrase “the Dirty Seven” comes to mind, as all our fave guys join forces to defeat the Company.

Wentworth also confirmed that Michael might finally get some action this year and that he’s getting his tattoo removed. Wentworth said that the tattoo removal is bittersweet, since that was such a key part of the character in the first two seasons. I’m sure he’s thrilled not to have to spend time getting into the tattoo though!

After engineering an escape from the hellish Panamanian prison Sona, brothers Michael Scofield and Lincoln Burrows are determined to seek justice against The Company, the shadowy group responsible for destroying their lives and killing the woman Michael loves, Dr. Sara Tancredi. During their quest for vengeance, Michael's world is turned upside down when he learns that Sara is still alive. Realizing the only way they will truly be free, Michael and Lincoln avenge to find Sara and take down The Company.

With the help of a government handler, they assemble a group of allies and familiar faces including Mahone, Sucre and Bellick to aid in their seemingly impossible task. Unfortunately for the brothers, they must also enlist T-Bag, who unknowingly possesses a vital clue to help them pull off their most difficult challenge yet. Live from Comic-Con: Wentworth Miller a No-Show for 'Prison Break'

Oh, Wentworth Miller, how you toy with your legion of fans. Mr. Miller, who has a rabid fan base (especially here at BuddyTV), has become known as something of a recluse or, at least, a person wary of any and all media attention. So, it was semi-big news when it was announced that the cast of Prison Break would be making their first in-person appearance at this year's San Diego Comic-Con. Tonight, you could feel the young females in the room squirm with excitement as the 24 panel ended and the stage was prepared for Prison Break. Little did they know that intense disappointment was on its way.

First, the FOX/Prison Break representative went out and put down the placards for the panel. There were the names you wanted to see: Dominic Purcell, Sarah Wayne Callies and, most important of all, Wentworth Miller. It was coming true, Wentworth fans felt, they were finally going to see him in person. Then, they showed the first ten or so minutes of the fourth season premiere. The crowd was lathered up and rarin' to go. Finally, the moment of truth; the cast and creative team arrived on stage. There was executive producer Matt Olmstead, there was Sarah Wayne and Dominic and...that was it. Wentworth Miller was nowhere to be seen, and the crowd lost its breath, a great many fans standing up and leaving the room the second that Olmstead said that Wentworth got stuck in LA shooting some pick-ups. Hmm, does that seem dubious or what?

So, yeah, that was a letdown for fans. But, there was other cool stuff. The beginning of the season premiere was cool, and definitely sets up what will come in season 4. Let's just say that Michael begins the season in Los Angeles, having tracked Whistler to Los Angeles. His priority: avenge Sarah's death. He goes to a party where Gretchen is doing some Company business, and through a series of events, is told by Gretchen (at gunpoint) that Sarah is not dead, that the whole thing was fixed. The Company needed leverage.

The main point of the panel, really, was to let us know that season 4 will revolve around Michael and Linc searching for Sarah and trying to figure out what has happened to her. However, it was interesting to hear Callies say that Sarah and Michael will have a reunion of sorts before the end of the two-hour season premiere.

A large theme is how two people, who had a prior relationship, can come back together after a serious trauma, after incredible drama, and relate to each other once again. Parallels to the current war veterans coming home to their families are drawn.

Season 4 will definitely be a departure for the series, and there doesn't look to be a prison involved, nor does it look like Michael and Linc are being pursued by anyone. They are, if my assumptions are correct, the pursuers. Prison Break fans may have been disappointed in Wentworth's no-show, but they should only be excited for the upcoming season.

Prison Break Preview: Time for a Break In?

As hinted at last week, during the TCA press tour I got some 1-on-2 time with Matt Olmstead and Zack Estrin, the creators of Fox's Prison Break. I was up front with the guys — as much of a Pollyanna I can be for the series, Season 3 was, well, a bit rocky, and certainly didn't tee up a clear-cut next arc. Here's what they had to say about that, the character they worked hard to keep around, and the boys' latest mission. — Matt Mitovich

TVGuide.com: Where do we go from here? The ersatz season finale didn't really spell it out.
Matt Olmstead: As you know, we had a whole back nine planned, but the strike cut that out. Ironically, that enabled us creatively to jump forward. So we're not picking up moments later from Season 3.

TVGuide.com: Right, we're jumping ahead a month or so. But any "blanks" would have been filled in had you had a complete Season 3?
Olmstead: Yeah. We would have led the audience to this same point. But now we're starting there and dropping back a little bit to explain the history [through flashbacks].
Zack Estrin: We made the creative decision to not spend the first half of this season wrapping up last season. We wanted to find a way to start with a brand-new story while also honoring all the things we set up at the end of Season 3. The two-hour première wraps things up and sets us on the new journey.

TVGuide.com: I understand the prison breakers will be breaking in someplace?
Olmstead: The only thing harder than breaking out is breaking in!

TVGuide.com: Who was the trickiest character to keep on the canvas?
Olmstead: T-Bag, because his character is not a natural part of this rag-tag team, because there is such animosity. But because of Robert Knepper, we were going to find a way, one way or another, to keep him involved.
Estrin: Part of the fun each season is wondering, "How is T-Bag going to fit into all of this?" He's always a thorn in their side.
Olmsted: But Whistler had that bird book that he left behind in Sona, so T-Bag is now in possession of these codes and secrets. Ultimately, the two trains — T-Bag and Michael — will collide.
Estrin: Originally Michael's tattoos were our story engine. This bird book steps in and takes over a bit, bringing back some of that Season 1 vibe.

TVGuide.com: Is the Cherry Hill/women-in-prison spin-off still in play?
Olmstead: Yes. We had a script that essentially was obsolete in that it was picking up on [Season 3] moments that never got to happen. Plus, we couldn't find the right actress. So we revisited it and thought, "Lets just groom out this continuity of a character and not even try to work her into Prison Break." It's more of a brand spin-off.

TVGuide.com: So we're not going to meet Molly through Michael anymore? [Originally, Molly was supposed to seek out Michael at the Sona prison, starting with last season's Episode 14.]
Olmstead: No.

TVGuide.com: Have you cast her yet?
Olmstead: No. We're almost done with the script, and then we go to studio and network and start that whole process.

TVGuide.com: I've said all along, the spin-off will probably star the only prison inmate prettier than Michael Scofield.
Olmstead: Yes, indeed!

The Fox press-tour bash went down last night at the Santa Monica Pier, and as usual with Fox, it was fun, sophisticated and just damn cool.

I chatted up all your fave stars on the red carpet and will be posting the videos of those interviews over the next few days. First up? Fab Prison Break headliners Wentworth Miller and Sarah Wayne Callies.

Prison Break: Wentworth and Sarah Share The Love

This September, Prison Break fans who are very much in it for the tumultuous relationship between Michael Scofield and Sara Tancredi will get a heaping dose of it when the show returns for its fourth season. The show will address Sara’s “resurrection” of sorts right off the bat, in episode 1. We all now know that it wasn’t her head in the box that Lincoln found early last season. The two will reunite early on and will surely have a lot to talk about. Michael has gone to great lengths to exact revenge on The Company but how will finding out that Sara is alive affect his plans? E! Online’s Kristen Veitch caught up with Sarah Wayne Callies and Wentworth Miller this week to deliver some answers about the ever evolving MiSa relationship.

It’s no secret that Sarah Wayne Callies and the Prison Break execs had a falling out, resulting in her untimely death. She had made peace with the death of her character but then, suddenly, found herself on the show again - a place she said she never thought she'd be. Sarah walked Kristen through her first day back on set this year. “It was really strange,” she admitted. “The first day, thankfully, I had one word to say all day and it was ‘Uh-huh’ to Wentworth. He had his arm around me for the rest of the day.” Miller was more than happy to have her back on the show. “I very much missed Sarah,” he said. “She added a certain something to the show: class, intelligence, estrogen.”

Miller’s love for Callies didn’t end there. He couldn’t stop praising his co-star for the way she handled her exit from the show. “I think she was sorely missed and I think that’s why the fans reacted the way that they did and certain people who made certain decisions decided to make it right,” he said. “I think it’s important to note that throughout the whole situation, Sarah was a model of grace and integrity and acted out of her concern for the fans, the story, and the character that she created. We’re really happy and honored that she decided to come back.”

When asked what Sara Tancredi went through while in the hands of The Company, Callies would only say, “It kind of makes the whole Kellerman bathtub thing look like a picnic.” Michael and Sara will immediately reunite and take comfort in one another, but they’ll also have a lot to talk about. “They do get together, there is everything you kind of hoped would happen in that reunion but at the same time, Michael’s changed a lot,” Miller told E!. “While he thought Sara was dead, he crossed a couple of lines. He’s got blood on his hands and his question is: Does he deserve her? Is he the man she once knew and fell in love with?”

For now, it seems that Michael and Sara are, in fact, in love and will be showing each other just how much they are when they shack up together. How steamy will it get though? The question made Callies laugh, as she explained, “We’re on a network at 9 o’clock at night. I mean, they didn’t have to put fuzzy marks over anything. We’re not on HBO… yet!”

Prison Break: Can You Handle These Season 4 Spoilers?

In Prison Break’s latest trailer to hit the internet, FOX touts the new season as being the “final confrontation”. Many fans have speculated that this would be Prison Break’s last season and perhaps a good time for the show to finish up the storylines of Michael Scofield and Lincoln Burrows. This could stand to be Prison Break’s best season to date, with a reunion coming between Michael and Sara as well as an epic showdown between Michael and everyone who wronged him. With the season 4 premiere coming on Labor Day, details about the upcoming episodes and spoilers have been coming in on a weekly basis. This batch examines the reunion between Michael and Sara, Michael and Lincoln, and interpreting the meaning of the season 4 premiere title.

** WARNING! SPOILER ALERT!! **

Perhaps some of the biggest questions surrounding this season pertain to Sara’s kidnap and subsequent rescue. We will get a lot of details about what happened to Sara when she and Michael are reunited but we won’t see flashbacks. At least, not yet. She will, of course, be affected by what happened to her but it will not affect her relationship with Michael. The two will fall right back into their comfortable relationship with one another, while facing major obstacles like taking down The Company.

Speaking of The Company, Lincoln returns from attempting to start a new life with LJ to help his brother. What brings these two together? SpoilerTV says that there will be events in the first episode, “Scylla” (which we’ll get to in a minute), that bring the two back together. E! Online reported that the brothers will have to complete a break-in, as opposed to a break-out, which is more their specialty. If the two can be successful at getting into a top secret building, to uncover information regarding The Company, they will receive unconditional freedom. This deal will be offered to them by a top government agent (played by Michael Rapaport).

Now back to the first episode, “Scylla”. As many people know, Scylla is the name one of two Greek monsters (the other being Charybdis) that leave on either side of a narrow channel of water. There is a phrase where someone is known as “being between Scylla and Charybdis”, where a person is standing between two dangers and moving away from one will cause you to be in danger from the other. We already know that The Company represents one of the monsters, or danger, and perhaps the government represents the other. At this point, Michael and Lincoln clearly can’t trust anyone but each other and those closest to them.

Prison Break: Early Season 4 Episode Spoilers

Let the Prison Break spoilers keep rolling in! Season 4 of Prison Break kicks off September 1st with a 2 hour premiere. Let’s recap everything we know so far. Don’t worry, we’re only discussing what is common knowledge. Season 4 is featuring several new cast members, including Michael Rapaport (The War At Home), Cress Williams (Grey’s Anatomy), Sasha Alexander (Dawson’s Creek), and newcomer James Hiroyuki Lee. With Michael on the other side of Sona’s walls and a fugitive, he chooses not to run this time. Instead, he turns his attention to The Company and unleashes his wrath upon them, determined to make them pay for killing Sara. This week, more spoilers hit the internet with details about the first few episodes of season 4.

In the first episode of season 4, Michael’s tattoos will be addressed. As BuddyTV previously reported, our anti-hero will have his tats removed this season. They have served their purpose, helping him escape from Fox River in season 1, and it’s time that he let them go. If anybody hoped for Gretchen to experience a slow and painful death, it won’t be happening early in the season. In episode 5, she’s still alive and kicking but she’s being held by a character named Wyatt.

Agent Lang will make a return this season, presumably in Mahone’s storyline. Speaking of, is he working for The Company or Michael? We’re still not sure. "There will be times when there might be some conflict but Michael and Mahone have an understanding and a hesitant respect of each other and what the other can do,” SpoilerTV reported. “Lincoln and Mahone will be more interesting but they may even find something to bring them closer together". As for what happened to Westmoreland’s money, well, the Panamanian government found it and dispersed to its police and soldiers. Looks like Michael and his A-Team are out of luck.

Rumors swirled that Prison Break was in danger of being cancelled, with the show not being listed in the 2009 lineup. No so, says SpoilerTV. Season 4 will run the way season 3 did, with the first half of the episodes running in the fall and then taking a break, while Dollhouse and 24 air. Prison Break will return in the late spring to finish out season 4.

Prison Break: New Cast Members and Season 4 Spoilers

Prison Break spoilers? Already? Yes! Since season 3 ended back in February, the season 4 details have come rolling in slowly but surely. This week, Prison Break released its season 4 trailer and it's not much of a surprised that it focused on Michael's destructive path as he vows revenge on The Company for killing the people he loved most. The show has added several new characters that will be integral parts of that storyline from government agents to assassins to hackers. After waiting several weeks to find out who will fill the role of the hacker, FOX finally came clean and gave us some dirt on new characters and season 4 plotlines.

James Hiroyuki Liao will be joining the cast of Prison Break as Roland Glenn, a computer hacker who joins forces with Michael and Lincoln. FOX revealed that Roland will land in hot water with the brothers since his mouth tends to get him in trouble. This is Liao's first big television role, as he has only appeared in guest spots on CSI and Law and Order. Sasha Alexander is also joining the show as Shannon Anderson. So far, her character as only listed as appearing in the first episode and her part in the storyline remains known. Anderson is perhaps best known for playing Pacey's sister on Dawson's Creek.

A Prison Break fansite recently posted several spoilers that should have fans counting down the minutes until the season 4 premiere date, September 1st. One has to wonder what kind of prison Panama is running since, at some point, Sucre and T-Bag make it out. In the season 4 trailer, Michael points a gun at someone and says, "This is for Sara." A source close to the show says that he is pointing it at a character we've already seen but that person walks away unharmed. LJ remains unharmed in the early part of the season but is not part of Michael's A-Team, who joins forces to go up against The Company. And for those dying for that Michael/Sara reunion, the source says it comes early on, in episode 3.

Fox slides sched back a week

Network pushes fall premieres from late August to early September; Prison Break leads charge September 1.

Fox surprised some people in the middle of last month when it announced that it would kick off its fall season in late August, about a week earlier than the rest of the networks. August 25 was to see the two-hour fourth-season premiere of Prison Break, followed by more two-hour specials during the rest of the week.

Well, it turns out Fox was just playing around. The network readjusted its schedule yesterday, pushing everything back a week and lining up with its rivals.

The fourth season of Prison Break will now bow on September 1, with two-hour premieres of Bones (September 3), The Moment of Truth (September 4), and Are You Smarter than a 5th Grader (September 5) following.

The following week will see the more traditional Fox fall lineup take shape, with premieres of Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles on September 8, Fringe on September 9, and 'Til Death and Do Not Disturb on September 10. House makes its season premiere September 16, and the shows comprising Fox's Sunday animation block all kick off their seasons on September 28.

Prison Break: New Season 4 Character Announced

At the FOX upfronts two weeks ago, Prison Break announced that they would be adding two new characters to the series for season 4. One character will work with Michael and Lincoln while the other will work against them. Soon after, it was announced the Michael Rappaport will be joining the show as a series regular. Recently, the show announced the addition of a third character. E! Online dished out the details, saying, "The new season of Prison Break is back Aug. 25, and they're introducing a new nerdy hacker character named Roland Glenn to join the boys for at least six episodes to help them fight the Company. He's a talker, this one, and his big fat mouth is going to get him into trouble."

The cast of Prison Break revealed a few more juicy tidbits about the fourth season at the upfronts, most of them courtesy of Wentworth Miller. He said that his character, Michael Scofield, will be getting his tattoos removed. The actor called the storyline “bittersweet”, since the tattoos have defined so much of who he has been. He went on to say that if he could sum up the upcoming season, he would say that the “Dirty Seven” will all team up against The Company.

Miller also recently spoke to Access Hollywood about what viewers can expect when the show returns, saying, “I think it’s time that the boys stop running and I think it’s time to stand and fight.” He went on to say that he felt confident that the show had longevity, feeling that the writers were always coming up with new and unexpected twists and turns for the characters of Prison Break.

Prison Break’s 4th season will premiere on August 25th. FOX has announced that the show will move from its usual 8pm time slot to 9pm ET.
