What Do You Think About the New Apple Watch?

Apple unveiled their new watch today. This is their first attempt at releasing a smartwatch. There's three version to choose from: Watch, Watch Sport and Watch Edition. The touch sensor features new technology that can distinguish between a light tap and a deep press, and trigger instant access to a range of contextually specific controls.

- Retina display with Ion-X glass.

- Glances. It's gives you scan-able summaries of the information you seek out most frequently. To see them, you simply swipe up from your watch face.

- Real-time notifications for incoming mail, messages, and calls.

- Siri is built-in.

- Taptic Engine, a linear actuator inside Apple Watch that produces haptic feedback (taps your skin).

- Heart rate sensor

- New charger with MagSafe technology.

The new Apple Watch has received mixed responses so far. It will be interesting to see how this plays out once they are released in the wild.

SEIKO 6R15 Automatic Watch

Seiko has released three new automatic watches with model number SARG009, SARG011 and SARG012. The design of the watch face is a classic look with high contrast markers and numbers. These make for a nice addition to Seiko's current collection. These are currently only available through dealers in Japan.

BASELWORLD 2014: New Watches from Casio

Casio Japan has unveiled a whole slew of new watch lines at BASELWORLD 2014. The first watch ever produced with GPS and atomic radio signal reception will be a new G-Shock. There's also a new EQW-T620 Edifice chronograph. The Pro Trek lineup has a new PRW-6000 watch model with triple sensors. Oceanus is producing a limited edition OCW-S3051S model. There's also a new BGA-180 Baby-G watch with tide graph and thermometer features. And Sheen is releasing a SHW-1510 with solar charging and atomic clock radio syncing. Look for these all to go on sale later this year.

Seiko has produced a new limited edition SDGZ005 watch. Only 500 pieces of will be produced. This mechanical chronograph model comes with an additional crocodile leather strap, and each has unique serial number engraved on the case back. The street price on these is about $1,800 USD.

Seiko SDGZ001 & SDGZ003 Mechanical Chronograph Watches

The Seiko SDGZ001 and SDGZ003 watches are both mechanical chronographs featuring the Automatic 8R28 movement. This movement has a hack with 34 jewels. It is rated with 28800 vibrations/h and withing +25～-15seconds/day. The crystal is sapphire and it also features a skeleton case back. The case and bracelet are made of stainless steel. The chronograph has a Stopwatch display for 30 minutes, Tachometer and 10　bar water resistance. The total weight is 184g. The case thickness is 14.6mm and case dimensions are 50.0 x 42.5mm. These both have a street price of $1,588 USD and area available now.

New Pebble Steel Smartwatch

Pebble has unveiled a sleeker looking new steel smartwatch. The Pebble Steel can run all the apps of the original watch, but now comes in a sturdier case with Corning Gorilla glass. And the LCD is a new tricolor display with increased readability. The watch is available in matte black or brushed metal finishes. The retail price is $249 USD and is available now in their online store.

Watch Review: Zanis Nuvati ZA-004A-BSDSMD

Zanis has produced a limited edition watch that each contains a Martian meteorite, a Lunar meteorite, an outer space gem and 70 diamonds. The space gem, aka an extraterrestrial pallasite, is specifically a Brenham Pallasite. It is currently the only known gem stone from outer space. The Martian meteorite fragment is from NWA 6963 and the Lunar one is from NWA 6888. This is a first for a wrist watch.
