San Juan Water Conservancy District Seeks Outside Counsel in Water Law

The San Juan Water Conservancy District located in Pagosa Springs, Colorado (“District”), is seeking to hire outside counsel (sole practitioner or law firm) with broad experience in Colorado water law, the Colorado Water Conservancy District Act, and Colorado statutes that apply to District operations, such as the Colorado Open Meetings Law and Colorado Open Records Act.

23rd Annual Children's Water Festival Call for Volunteers May 2, 2018

Southwestern Water Conservation District is pleased to sponsor the 23rd Annual Children’s Water Festival taking place May 2nd, 2018 at Fort Lewis College. It’s a science conference that focuses on water in our world. The Festival is geared towards 5th grade students, features exhibits and many hands-on presentations highlighting a variety of water-related topics. The goal is to provide a better understanding of water resources, and the value and importance of water.

To help make this event the success that it is, approximately 30 volunteer guides are needed to lead close to 700 regional fifth-grade students and their classes to various water-related stations on campus. In exchange for this valuable and FUN service a continental breakfast will be provided, a Water Festival t-shirt, gourmet lunch, as well as a keepsake water bottle. In addition, if you are a student, the festival qualifies for seven (7) hours of community service. Guides will need to meet at 7:30 am sharp at the FLC Student Union Ballroom and will likely be finished sometime between 2:00 pm and 3:00 pm.
