Das Album wurde mit insgesamt sechzehn Musikern live aufgenommen: Bläser-Section, String-Quartett, Percussion – alles mit dabei. Ein Aufwand, den sich heute kaum noch eine Band leisten mag. Aber es hat sich gelohnt, das Album groovt wie ein gutes Live-Konzert und der Sound lässt an große Künstler wie Jill Scott, Erykah Badu oder Jamie Lidell denken.

Mehr als 250 Konzerte in Deutschland, Schweiz, Österreich, Italien und Frankreich in den letzten Jahren ließen die Band zusammenwachsen und ihren Live-Sound perfektionieren. gestern war es soweit.  Zusammen mit Nord-Event und dem Hamburger Abendblatt luden wir zur ersten HighLive Lounge auf dem Panoramadeck des Emporio Towers in Hamburg. High war es wirklich und so hatte man in 100 Meter Höhe einen atemberaubenden 360° Grad Bick über die Stadt. Dazu noch feines Fingerfood und leckere Drinks – was will man mehr? Richtig, Musik.

Als musikalischen Gast konnten wir Johannes Oerding gewinnen, den wir schon seit Jahren begleiten und der mittlerweile wohl einer Deutschlands bekanntester Popmusiker ist und auch gerne mal den Hamburger Stadtpark füllt. Gestern dann also ein kleines intimes “Wohnzimmer-Konzert” in luftiger Höhe. Was soll man sagen? Der Mann kann es einfach und hatte Hamburg sofort im Griff! Zwischen seinen Songs noch mal eben ein Cover von “Rapper’s Delight”, hier eine Bob Marley Einlage, da die Beatbox. Das läuft.

wir steigen Hamburg aufs Dach: am 2. Februar 2012 startet die erste „HighLive Lounge“ mit Johannes Oerding und wavemusic auf dem Panoramadeck im Emporio (Ex-Unilever Haus am Dammtorwall). Ein exklusiver Event 98 Meter über Hamburg. Erlebt ein hautnahes Akustik-Konzert von Johannes Oerding in entspannter Atmosphäre, super 360 (Grad) Blick,  köstlichen Drinks und leckerem Fingerfood.

Autumn is finally here and just in time for the cosy season we realeased our brand new moreorlessJAZZ 8. Our little homage to the lightness in complexity. Origami for example. Origami, the centuries-old Japanese art, is all about the ability to fold a simple sheet of paper into incredibly elegant objects that are more complex than they look. This principle of illusion is also employed in the design world, and is manifested in a wide variety of elegant furniture: forms that appear to be weightless.

moreorlessJazz 8 likewise stands for artistic lightness, in both music and design. It’s about the lightness in our perception, and the artistic achievement of those responsible. Swing, for example, has a special vibrancy about it that has us feeling how the world drifts effortlessly through space – and how something that normally only stamps is suddenly tender-footed. Easy, right? Anyone who’s ever sat at a drum kit will know “what it takes for things to start swinging…“

Check out “Devil May Care” to experience the natural swing of Raúl Midón. Or Bert Kaempfert, whose horn arrangements sound like elephants drifting blissfully along. Does it get any better?

Aus Gründen der Gemütlichkeit spielte Rainer Trüby dann spontan im totschicken Kaminzimmer des SAGE auf und sorgte mit einem großartigen Set aus Jazz, Soul und House für einen perfekten Abschluss der diesjährigen wavemusic PUBLIC CHILL Event-Serie.

Was bleibt zu sagen? Sylt. Hamburg. Berlin. Drei mal tolle Stimmung, eindrucksvolle Locations, super Acts und viele, viele glückliche Menschen. Grund den PUBLIC CHILL auch 2012 wieder auf die Straße zu bringen. Vielleicht ja auch in eure Stadt.

Nach einem ziemlich miesen Sommer lassen wir zum Ende der Saison noch einmal die Sonne ins Herz. Am Sonntag, 18. September kommen wir mit dem wavemusic PUBLIC CHILL endlich nach Berlin, ins Sage-Restaurant nach Kreuzberg.

Für die lauschigen Beats werden Rainer Trüby von Compost Records, DJ JONDAL von Klassik Radio sowie unsere DJs Max DISKO und Tim TABEL vom wavemusic.sound.collective sorgen. Und mit dem Sage-Restaurant in Kreuzberg haben wir genau die Location gefunden, die wir uns für Berlin gewünscht haben. Drinnen wie draußen herrscht dort eine lockere Atmosphäre direkt an der Spree, mit feinstem Sandstrand und stylischer Backstein-Architektur.
