<div><em><em>We are counting on a HUGE show of member support this year and are already have at least 8 WBII members committed to sponsorship! The more WBII members we can highlight the more robust we can present the WBII to attract more members and increase the value of the WBII network for everyone. For €100 + BTW (same as last year), you can place an ad in the calendar. Payments must be received by June 15. Once committed to sponsorship, you will receive an email with details (invoice, logo size requirements, etc).</em></em>Corporate sponsorship costs €500 + BTW and buys a large advert on one of the calendar month pages (see attachment for example). We need your help and connections to secure corporate sponsors, so please work your contacts to help find sponsorship partners!</div>

<div><em>This year&#8217;s calendar will be a photographic beauty, full of helpful dates, and a platform to highlight your business as well as corporations who support the work of the WBII. And with free distribution, we&#8217;re printing 1000 more copies expecting it to be a huge hit! The calendars will be available at the September Feel at Home in the Hague fair as well as the Expatica fair in Amsterdam in October. You may also have as many copies as you like to pass out to colleagues, friends, and clients. </em></div>

Not only has <a href="http://www.womensbusinessinitiative.net/jo-parfitt/">Jo Parfitt</a> written books on the topic of Networking, she has authored 28 books in total has has now published over 50 for other aspiring writers through her business, Summertime Publications. Azra Secerbegovic (not pictured) won the Ambition Award as owner of <a href="http://www.womensbusinessinitiative.net/azra-secerbegovic/">ASpa</a>, a city spa concept she created in 2008 with the our philosophy to create a complete range of honest, natural and therapeutic treatments. Congratulations on the new ASpa location on Alexanderplein 2 in The Hague.</p>
<p>The Initiative Awards are based on the Core Values of the WBII and this year a new award was added&#8230;<a href="http://www.strongisthenewblack.com/2012/04/13/the-2012-recipient-of-the-strong-award-is-kathryn-bolkovac/">The STRONG Award</a>. Kathryn Bolkovac, pictured left, was the recipient of the first ever STRONG Award. More STRONG role models are definitely needed for women and her courage and strength make her an absolute hero and inspirational role model for all women. Kathryn Bolkovac is the author of the book, <a href="http://www.amazon.com/The-Whistleblower-Trafficking-Military-Contractors/dp/0230108024/ref=cm_cr_pr_pb_t"><em>“The Whistleblower: Sex Trafficking, </em><em>Military Contractors, and One Women’s Fight for Justice”</em></a> and her story is the inspiration for the movie <em>“The Whistleblower”</em>, which portrays her courageous fight against sex trafficking in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Rachel Weiss plays her character in the movie. What a privilege it was to meet such a remarkable woman and to honor her in this way. Congratulations to all the 2012 WBII Initiative Award winners!</p>

<p>The WBII 2012 International Women&#8217;s Day event at the Bel-Air Hotel was an extraordinary evening! The keynote speaker, Silvia Fernandez, Judge at the International Criminal Court gave a moving and memorable speech that provided some tangible proof and reassurance that significant progress for women in the area of human rights is in fact being made and is therefore possible.We very much appreciate that she took the time from a very busy schedule, while presiding over a very important case to spend the evening with us. Her talk was so informative and relevant and she is such a warm person; she made the evening truly remarkable.</p>
<p>Thanks to everyone who attended the event and especially to all of the contributors and participants in the first ever WBII silent auction. We raised over 1400 euro on the night and already have some contributors lining up for next year. Congratulations to all WBII Members and to the Executive Committee on another successful event!</p>

<p>The WBII Networking evening is held on the 4th Thursday of every month at the Carlton Ambassador hotel from 19.00-22.00. These events are a excellent opportunity for informal networking and to find out all about the WBII.</p>
