Oops! We forgot to book a guest for this week, but there's still plenty going this weekend. Nathan Irwin and Suzette Boulais talk about the Neil Simon comedy "Rumors," opening tonight. Nathan is stage managing the production, and helps explain what the stage manager is responsible for. Also, the Peoria Art Guild opens its Member Art Show. And Reel to Real Focus on Film presents two silent-film classics with Charlie Chaplin and Buster Keaton at ICC North.

The Peoria Municipal Band is back this simmer, with concerts every Wednesday and Sunday at the Glen Oak Park Ampitheatr. In addition, they have four performances on the Peoria Riverfront; and three concerts at locations around town. Director David Vroman talks with Suzette Boulais and Nathan Irwin about what the band has in store this season, and about how they handle inclement weather.

In a special podcast edition of Out and About, we talk with Julie Traenskenschuh, Fine Arts Manager for Public School District 150. She was one of the Peoria-area attendees at the "One State: Together in the Arts" conference held last week in Peoria. She talked about how she benefited from the conference, and about some of the advantages she sees for arts groups in the Peoria area.

Nathan Irwin and Suzette Boulais talk with Sharon Samuels Reed, who directs the Heritage Ensemble in their annual "Juneteenth" concert Saturday night at the ICC Performing Arts Center. The concert also features appearances by the Youth Heritage Ensemble, and the return of several past members. Also this weekend, the Peoria Bach Festival concludes at Trinity Lutheran Church, and Peoria Players presents "altar Boyz."

This week, Suzette Boulais and Nathan Irwin talk with Stacy Peterson-Steiner from the Peoria Art Guild. The fourth Art Fair at Junction City is coming up next weekend, June 6th and 7th. It features work from artists who live within 100 miles of Peoria. Also this weekend, Edith Bernard will be portraying Harriet Beecher Stowe at the Apollo Theatre. And the musical "The Producers" opens Corn Stock Theatre's summer season.
