I’ve had many crazy surprises on my always exciting Sunday nights, but getting a new song unexpectedly from Arctic Monkeys is pretty much the cream of the crop. They just uploaded a new music video featuring a new song titled “R U Mine?”.

It sounds like an altered version of their Suck It And See sound, only a lot sexier. Yeah, I said it. Helders backing vocals may or not be the reason for that. It’s a groovey tune from a band full of them. Enjoy it below.

Philadelphia cool guys Work Drugs got a new single called “License To Drive”. It’s an all too cool song that features one of the catchier guitar lines of the year. This song is all good vibes, you will soon be beaming from corner to corner. It’s set to appear on their upcoming full length release.

It’s only February, but this song has me impatient for those hot summer days to arrive. You may feel the same.

We already heard “Marathon Runner” from Yellow Ostrich’s upcoming album Strange Land. We now also have “The Shakedown”, a guitar heavy track that further expands the new full band sound that Yellow Ostrich has comfortably transformed into. It’s a welcome change that sounds miles ahead of the bedroom sound that once defined the band.

I have been getting a few recommendations about Django Django and had to check them out. They’re a band from London that just release their self titled debut album. They maintain a refreshing sound that is part psychedelic dreams, part pop sensation. These are songs you can get lost in, while also finding a irresistible catchy-ness that traps you.

Two tracks from the album that you need to hear are “Default” and “Storm”. Both are unique in their own way, but they are similar in their way to bend sounds to sound as welcoming and sensation as can be. You won’t regret checking this band out. Both songs are streaming below.

Spiritualized have released an epic 8-minute new song called “Hey Jane”. It’s set to appear on the bands new album Sweet Heart Sweet Light, which Fat Possum will release on April 17.

“Hey Jane” is a big sprawling track that has that electric british feel to it. It keeps going, expanding on it’s comfortable groove, working it every way that it can. It’s chill, trippy, and all around feel good. Stream it below.

Craft Spells are releasing a new EP titled Gallery on May 15th via Captured Tracks. They’re previewing it with new single “Still Left With Me”.

The band’s delightful ode to 80s synth-rock is still perfectly intact. The band has taken things a step further, staying true to themselves, while also becoming more comfortable in their shoes. We still have 5 more songs to hear from the EP, but this fantastic track will hold me over for now.

The Shins have released a pretty wild music video for “Simple Song” that put’s James Mercer in a fatherly role. It’s an interesting concept, an interesting choice for “Simple Song”. It was directed by Daniel Scheinert and Daniel Kwan.

Metric have announced a new album titled Synthetica. The album is due June 12 via Mom + Pop Music.

The Toronto band recorded it in their own studio, Giant, in Toronto as well as at Electric Lady Studios in NYC. The band’s very own Jimmy Shaw produced it. Lead singer Emily Haines described the album as:

It sounds like the culmination of everything we have done. We’ve always had a sound in our heads that we hoped to realize and we finally heard it coming back out of the speakers this time.

Summer Camp did a wonderful cover of Fleetwood Mac’s classic, “Everywhere” live. It was for Mulberry’s Mixtape Tour. The duo do the song plenty of justice, making it stand out in it’s own way.
