Question:

I’ve been working with a woman for a long time, long enough that I would think she could trust me to do my job extremely well. Yet, she questions me, checks up on me, and then apologizes to me (sometimes) because I have done my job 99% of the time.

This makes me crazy. How can I find peace? I love my job, I just can’t take this distrust anymore.

Answer:

Mark, thank you so much for asking this question. There are many people who find themselves working with and for people who have difficulty trusting others. The absence of trust creates one of the most energy depleting experiences for people in relationship.

When trust isn’t present between two or more people in personal or professional relationships, everything moves like molasses. It’s sticky, slow, and catches everything little thing that comes along in it’s path. Obstacles become greater as time goes on. Everything takes so much more time, energy, and money, have you noticed?

I can appreciate that you feel very frustrated in working with this woman. Here’s your real problem, however. Your experience is being determined by her actions. In other words, you are falling victim to her distrusting nature and denying your power of choice. This is what is draining your energy!

From a higher perspective, I submit to you that you have drawn this person into your life to grow beyond the victim level of awareness. Subconsciously, you have rendered yourself powerless to act resourcefully and to feel grounded and centered. From the victim level of awareness, you can only react in your fight/flight/freeze mode.

Please stay with me here. I am offering you a perspective that can free you from this emotional prison that uses resistance to keep you locked in. I would never want that for you or anyone. The truth is, you are most likely trapped in the Power Struggle stage of your relationship with your business partner. Where else in your life might you be stuck in this stage?

This is your inner work. If you are ready to be free from the pain of your victim perspective, I recommend you start by doing the following each day:

1. Decide that you are now taking full responsibility for your life.
2. Become aware of everyone and everything you are complaining about.
3. Acknowledge this activity as the victim’s habit. Stop yourself when you notice that you are in the complaining and “shoulding” mode. Say to yourself, “the victim’s talking.”
4. Turn your complaints around, i.e. I will trust myself more. I will forgive myself more. I will notice my strengths more. I’ll acknowlegde my weaknesses and mistakes without judgment.

Mark, please believe me when I say, this relationship is no accident for you. I celebrate this opportunity for you to claim your powerful, undefended, unjustified Self. This is who you really are. You are not your victim perspective. It is merely a level of awareness that every human being experiences in their life. You are not alone.

Question:

Do you want to increase your income significantly, yet you feel overwhelmed with what you think it will take?

Answer:

Don't make this fatal mistake if you want to increase your income.

If you believe that in order to produce more income you must give more, make more offers, serve more people, become more proficient and masterful at what you do, network more, etc., then you might feel overwhelmed when you think about everything that you must do.

I know, that happened to me. My over-giving and caring nature became an obstacle for me when I decided to up level my business income earlier this year. I simply found myself drained of the energy that I needed in order to make the changes that I believed I needed to make. What I discovered changed everything, and it can change everything for you, too!

Over-giving and over-caring is not an uncommon practice for heart-centered, over-achieving, perfectionist women who care deeply and want to serve and help others. The problem is, we tend to experience a huge challenge when we want to increase our income significantly.

Why is this and what can you do about it? First of all, let’s look at a Universal principle that determines the flow for the energy of money, the Law of Circulation.

Put simply, this states that the energy of money must circulate. If this process is thwarted, due to misaligned beliefs, it will produce an experience of lack and scarcity in your experience.

There is a belief that suggests that if you want to experience an increase, you must first invest your energy (give). Like putting your money into the bank. It will grow if you invest it into an interesting-bearing account (receive a return). Do your subconscious beliefs allow you to receive a return on your investment of time, talents, and energy?

Let’s look at this closer. Do any of these beliefs feel true for you?

• It is better to give than to receive.
• You’re not deserving to receive abundantly.
• If you make too much money you will become or be seen as uncaring.
• You’ll have to work too hard to make a lot of money and keep it.
• People will use you for your money and won’t really love you.
• Your friends or family will be jealous of your success and you’ll feel guilty.
• I must provide for myself without any help. This proves I am strong.

Okay, this is actually a very short list. Can you relate to any of these beliefs or do you have a few more to add? Here’s the problem. Your ability to increase your income will be greatly limited if you can’t RECEIVE! Your cup must be filled back up or you’ll run on empty! The problem isn’t that you have not been giving, it’s that you haven’t allowed yourself to receive, to fill back up!

The beliefs I’ve listed above are reasons why you won’t let your good (money) come into your life. By changing your relationship with money, which includes your beliefs about you and money, you’re really changing your ability to be contributed to. You’re increasing your emotional capacity to receive!

Given the culture we live in, you have been conditioned in the masculine approach to business. Men have been our role models in business for centuries. Nothing wrong with this, it just doesn’t work well for heart-centered, over-caring, over-giving women (men too). It is the FEMININE PRINCIPLE OF RECEIVING that you MUST open up to within yourself in order to regenerate the flow of money back into your life.

Relax and breathe! Yes, receiving completes the circulation process. How well do you really allow yourself to receive? You might think you do, yet, if your income isn’t growing and you want it to, consider this could be your blind spot.

This week, I invite you to practice evoking your feminine energy. Intend to receive in all areas of your life. Start with something as simple as practicing extreme self-care. Take a break and do something that you love. Be very kind to yourself. Be a gracious receiver!

In addition, ask yourself this one important question each morning, “Where do I need to receive more of my good that wants to come to me now?” Listen closely, your heart will tell you. The practice of listening for guidance shifts you into the space of your feminine energy to receive.

Hi Judy, I find myself having all kinds of incredible ideas. I make a commitment to move forward on them. However, I find old patterns of being distracted and not working the new idea into reality. Any ideas or help on this one? Thanks, Barb

Answer:

Thank you for raising this issue, Barb. This is a very common problem for many of us that are creative and passionate about what we do. Lots of good ideas flop around in our minds, yet they never get born into reality. The good news is, you are creative and passionate about what you do!

There can be many reasons that your patterns of distraction are interfering with your ability to complete your ideas and see them through to fulfillment. Look and see if your old patterns are surfacing because you’re subconsciously believing something negative about yourself or the value of what you offer. Perhaps you are judging what you are offering and creating as not being good enough.

Judgment stops your creative juices from flowing. It diminishes your ability to take the actions necessary to complete your ideas and bring them into fruition. Oh yes, and please stop judging yourself and the value of what you have to offer, now!

These subconscious patterns of sabotage could be showing up in other areas of your life as well. The way we all do one thing is often the way we do many things that are similar in nature.

It is always a good idea to notice the sabotaging pattern that uses distractions to hijack you from working on your ideas, as quickly as you can. The following steps will help you if you make them a daily practice:

• Interrupt the pattern before it interrupts your work. Take a deep breath and do not allow the current distraction to carry you away. See it for what it is, a safety ploy to keep your beautiful self- expression quiet and repressed.
• Release the tension that your old thinking produces. Shaking out your hands or clenching your fists tightly, then releasing them slowly, are a couple of quick and easy ways to do this.
• Focus on the energy that is coursing through your body. Breathe deeply and step back from your idea or project. Ask yourself this question? For the sake of what do I want to birth this idea? In other words, why do you want to birth and complete this now?
• Discover what is most important to you, and prioritize your idea according to your bigger plan. This is an important practice to do with all of your ideas – prioritize them within the context of a bigger plan.

You might find that some of your ideas are not ready to come into fruition just yet. Use your power of discernment and gage your ideas according to your bigger picture. Everything grows in stages. Knowing what stage your bigger project is in is paramount to deceiphering what ideas are appropriate to be completed now.

This is not only more fulfilling, it is financially attractive as well, particularly when it comes to your work and business. Thank you for giving your unique self-expression the attention it needs and deserves! Our world needs you now!

Question:

Might the way you treat your body be similar to the way you treat (or do) your business? In other words, how is your relationship with your body similar to your relationship with your business (how you work with yourself and others)?

Answer:

This is an interesting question to consider. And, if it is true, that you treat your body like you treat your business, you could be on the verge of having a huge breakthrough in both of these areas of your life, particularly if there are symptoms of dis-ease in either area.

Let’s look at how you are with your body. What happens if you start to gain weight? Usually, if you are like many of us humans, you will have an emotional reaction (fear, frustration or anger, etc.) to your clothes fitting too tight or to what the scale says, that is if you are brave enough to get on the scale.

You might make a conscious decision that today is the day you have to start losing weight. The next thing you might do, in your state of URGENCY and DETERMINATION, is to charge forward and begin to make changes with your eating and exercising habits.

You keep this going until the pressure is off and you’ve lost some weight or until you get really tired from not sleeping or from being stressed out. In other words, you use your will-power (conscious override of your subconscious defense systems) to begin making the changes that you believe you should make until stress takes over and weakens you, thus throwing you back into your old ways.

What happens when you don’t feel well? Do you push yourself to keep going? Do you ignore your body when it tells you that it needs to rest and relax? Do you push yourself to do more than you have the energy for?

This is a sure-fire recipe for a weak, sick, or painful body. The truth is, this is not a loving and respectful way to treat your body. In fact, it seems a bit like a dictator who pushes and expects great performance out of his/her “subjects” because that is what he/she wants. People (your body) are merely seen as things – vehicles to get the dictator what he/she needs and wants as quickly as possible.

Now, let’s consider this same way-of-being as it applies to your work or business. You look at your bank account and decide it has to change for the better. You feel a sense of URGENCY and decide that you have to change now. You must get more clients, do more marketing, speak, network, sell, raise your prices, cut back on expenses, and save your money.

You consciously focus and begin to make changes. You force yourself to do what you believe you need to do, disregarding how you feel in the process. Without consciously realizing it, you push your feelings down and push yourself to make it happen.

You become disillusioned because you aren’t getting the results you want fast enough. Then, you get tired and stressed out because change isn’t happening, even though you’ve been working very hard and putting in many long days and weekends.

What is likely to happen, given you are the same person in the tired, stressed out body, is that without realizing it, you will see yourself and the people you want to serve as “things”, just like you see your body as a thing. “Things” are defined as vehicles that are used to get something, in this case, more money. They can also be obstacles that prevent something (money) from coming to you.

This is certainly not a loving and respectful way-of-being. How are you treating your body? How are you treating your business and your money? If you are being the same way with your body as you are with your money and your business, they will both become dis-eased, weak, and limited. The symtoms will be evident.

Any dis-ease in your body, your business, and with your money is not due to what you are or are not doing, directly. As you might guess, the problem is much deeper than that. If you know anything about fear and resistance, you know that what you resist, persists. What you try to get rid of will try to get rid of you!

In order to keep dis-ease out of your business, your finances, your body, and relationships and to enhance your experience of well-being, financial abundance, freedom, and joy, you must begin with these five (5) steps:

• Stop reacting out of fear or anger, your survival channel
• Access your “state of choice” and acceptance
• Choose what you want and long to experience
• Create an inner REALity that allows for and aligns with what you want
• Take inspired action from your state (channel) of choice

These five (5) steps are your path to transformation. While they are simple, you may find that you have difficulty completing one or more of these steps along the path. It is important to work each step in the order that I have given. This is energy work that must be experienced at the subconscious level of body/emotions/mind/soul.

Question:

“I am a serious “take action” kind of person. I get lost in my daily to-do list, and I’m driven by the goals I set for myself. Unfortunately, I’m not getting the results that I hope for day after day.

You write about living from the inside out, yet, I’m afraid if I resort to relying on doing my inner work, I’ll turn into a passive person who sits around waiting to take action and not achieve anything. Can you put my mind at ease?

Answer:

Dianne, you are describing a fear that so many of my super-achieving students and clients have. You are also describing the consequences (lack of desired results) of being driven and taking action when you are not aligned with receiving what you really want.

Here’s the problem. You’re seeing this as an either/or scenario. Either you take action from a place of urgency and sheer will-power, while ignoring how you feel or what your gut is telling you, or you believe that if you do your inner work you won’t feel the urgency that often drives your actions. From this vantage point, you might be imagining that you’ll just be sitting around and passively waiting for something to happen.

In my experience, I can’t think of a more rigorous action to take than doing our inner work. There is nothing passive or inactive about transformation. To engage in our transformational process is a privilege and a responsibility that we human beings have over our animal friends. We arrive at a place in our growth when we must choose to either act out of our true nature or to act out of our limited, reactive, conditioned self.

The truth is, when you claim your identity as the Truth of who you are, and you align your inner beliefs and emotions with the desires that you really care about, you will be released from your fearful, protective patterns of survival that do not align with what you truly want. (Notice how I worded that.)

In doing your inner transformational work, you will dissolve your inner resistance to having what you want. I promise that you can’t help but take inspired action from your REAL power. You will be drawn to all of the people and the resources that you need to achieve your desired outcomes. You’ll no longer feel a sense of urgency, you won’t be pushy and manipulative, and you won’t be in judgment of yourself and others.

True alignment inspires and motivates right-action. When you feel confident and you experience an inner permission to have what you really want, there will be no separation between the inner work that you do and the inspired action that you will want to take. Your actions will produce the experience that you want in much less time and with much less effort.

Taking action when your “house is divided”, so to speak, i.e. part of you is in the basement and part of you is upstairs trying to live your life, is like trying to be creative, joyful and resourceful from within your own inner war zone. That’s hard and it keeps you in the war!

I trust that I have allayed your fears about valuing the inner work that your desires are calling you to do to begin with. You are being called back to identify with the truth of who you already are. This is not an exercise to fix something that is broke or wrong! It is a choice that we have been given the privilege to make. It is part of our spiritual evolution and growth.

Just remember, when it comes to doing things from logic and will power versus what you subconsciously believe, what you subconsciously believe will ALWAYS WIN OVER, hands down, every time!

This truth is why your quest is well worth making. I believe it is your soul’s desire to do so. It is a MUST if you want to live the life you were born to live and to be the grandest, prosperous YOU that is YOU!

Question:

Do you believe that you can permanently and radically change your financial experience just by:

• changing your behavior once things get bad enough,
• having someone to be accountable to,
• or following what someone else tells you to do?

Answer:

My response to this question is definitely, “NO YOU CANNOT.” How many times have you made a decision to save money, pay off your debt, stop using credit cards for consumer purchases, or try to implement what a successful mentor tells you to do to increase your income, only to fall back into your old habits when the urgency or pressure goes away?

Please do not feel inadequate if you’ve made a number of failed attempts to change your financial situation by using sheer will power and determination. Making promises to take different actions and being held accountable for those promises is a common practice for many goal setting achievers who want to improve their financial and business lives.

It’s true, in the short-term, you can produce results using these methods, however; to achieve sustainable, long-term results, you cannot fundamentally change your relationship to money, which you must do by the way, by merely changing your behaviors and strategies? Look at your results in the past. Did you fall back when the pressure and urgency was no longer there?

This common approach to change can only create a yo yo effect with your results, in this case, having more money. You might bring in a bunch of money one month, then experience a drought for a few months, then more comes in, and then the drought is back, and so on.

High earning months can create the illusion that you have conquered your financial issue. Then suddenly, a large unexpected bill shows up and eats up your increase. Sooner or later, the drought is back and you get further and further behind.

What creates this yo yo effect to begin with? It actually occurs for a very simple reason. You are taking action from within a conflict between what you want and what your deeply held, protective beliefs want. This is why trying to stay positive about your financial dilemma and focusing on having more money doesn’t work. The hidden intention of your protective belief system will snap you back into your status quo every time. (This is crazy-making. I know, I’ve been there.)

Here is the truth of your situation. Your conscious intention and will power to have more money are driving your new behaviors and actions. Unfortunately, they only carry 10% of the impact towards you realizing a change for the better.

Your subconscious patterns of protection strategies, beliefs, and memories carry 90% of the weight toward whether or not you will reach and sustain your goal to have more money. (This applies to every great thing that you want, like losing weight or attracting your soul mate.)

This is why making a concerted effort to radically changing your behavior and actions without first transforming your inner belief systems, which include who you think you are, are difficult to do and do not produce the long-term results you seek.

Here’s the good news: It is NOT hard to do what works. What is hard is trying to maintain the momentum of taking actions that are in conflict with your closed inner belief system of protection and limitation.

Doing your inner work begins with a very important step that I invite you to take now. It’s actually the first step in my Alchemy of the Shadow™ process. This process is a shortcut that brings you into alignment and out of conflict between your conscious desires and your subconscious belief system. This is your true power – Peace and Alignment with the Truth.

My Alchemy of the Shadow™ Process to Power, Freedom, and Prosperity…

Module I.

1. Identify what you really want and how you want to feel.
2. Write this affirmative statement as if you really believe it has already happened. ( don’t worry, you won’t really feel it here.)
   
   I now have__________ and I now feel________. ( This will bring up your inner resistance to what you want because you don’t really believe this will happen for you. )
3. Give voice to this resistance by completing this phrase, Yeah BUT. . . The answers will be right there at the top of your mind.
4. Look at your answers and see them as negative and limiting beliefs about yourself and what you believe isn’t possible. This begins your journey inward.

Just remember, when it comes to doing things from logic and will power versus what you subconsciously believe, what you subconsciously believe will ALWAYS WIN OVER, hands down, every time!

Question:

“I work on a sales team and I always intend to wish my team members success. I never discuss my pending sales with them or how much I have sold, yet my team members do. Maybe they are trying to impress me, maybe not.”

“When they do share their sales numbers, and I haven’t been as busy, I become annoyed and a little jealous. I worry why I’m not as busy as they are, and then I blame myself for not doing enough. I really don’t like this feeling. I want to understand and stop what is going on with me. Can you help me, please!”

Answer:

My dear Anne, you are so not alone! I’m hearing that you are wanting to stop being jealous of other peoples’ success, particularly when you are not experiencing your own. Jealousy is a painful emotion to experience, and I commend you for wanting to change this in yourself.

Actually, this issue comes straight out of a belief that suggests you are not as good as others, perhaps you are “less than” when it comes to financial success. I say this because success in others is triggering a negative reaction in you when you decide you’re not “matching up.” I would bet that you’ve had this feeling from a very young age. Perhaps you have compared yourself to one of your siblings growing up?

What you are doing in your mind is playing the win/lose comparison game which carries a negative judgment about the loser, in this case, you. Your habit of determining your self-worth and value based upon what other people have or don’t have is denying your intrinsic worth. It is ignoring the Truth about who you really are.

I recommend you do this exercise ASAP. Your peace depends on it.

1. Acknowledge that you do have a desire to be successful, and celebrate that.
2. Recognize and accept that you deeply believe that you are “not good enough” or that you are “less than.” The trappings of success and being busy are being used as a strategy within your subconscious mind to make you feel like you are “good enough.” This is a survival strategy that I lovingly refer to in my work as “small trying to get big.”
3. Make a decision that you are going to stop using financial success and being busy as a means to determine your intrinsic self-worth. Let it go now. Be willing to release it, don’t try to get rid of it. This is NOT the truth of who you are.

Being aware and accepting your subconscious busy – success strategy, which is only intended to “make you worthy,” will bring you peace. Each time you feel jealous of others, embrace your desire to be successful for a better reason than to make you feel “good enough.”

I challenge you to reach for the Truth of how worthy you are and the valuable contribution that you make to others. Love and contribution is your highest vibration. It is the vibration that will bring you the peace and freedom that you seek. This is the gift your jealousy is bringing you at this time.

Just remember, when it comes to doing things from logic and will power versus what you subconsciously believe, what you subconsciously believe will ALWAYS WIN OVER, hands down, every time!
