- We were invited by the (bilingual) German design magazine Form to design the next poster in their ongoing series. The theme of the issue was ‘Collaboration’ so we thought it would be interesting to get our twitter followers involved. We asked people for their favourite English/German word. Once we had collected 140 words we invited one of our collaborators, the talented Mr Nick Asbury (wordsmith/copywriter) to write a 14 line sonnet using only the words we collected. We then illustrated Nicks sonnet into a super-graphic poster that is included with the magazine.

- We were commissioned by MADE, a young dynamic furniture company to assess their current brand assets. Working with the design team and the directors at MADE we designed a new classic MADE logotype + a versatile new brand marque. We were also tasked with looking at their current online typography and to investigate and propose new typography to give their online & increasing offline presence a more cohesive/classic look. A small set of guidelines were produced to help MADE look consistent when working with 3rd party partners.

- The Dreamers’ Supply Company is a new project that enables marginalised young people to develop their creative, collaborative and entrepreneurial skills. Teaming young people with talented professionals, and together they design, prototype, build and sell dream-realising products. We were approached by Spark & Mettle to give The Dreamers’ Supply Co. a look and a voice, we designed the branding and identity, working with the DSCo team on ‘make days’ prototyping products. We then designed packaging for the products, wrote copy and designed their website and produced a set of animated stings. Welcome to the positive world of the Dreamers’ Supply Co. – Purveyors of the finest quality oneirological goods since 1901.

- Exhibition to celebrate our 11th anniversary of Build. Located in The Dray Walk Gallery the show was part of the 2012 London Design Festival. We collaborated with architects Studio Octopi & hi-end carpenters Aldworth, James & Bond in producing a bespoke/one-off table. Custom perspex frames were made to display the work, window-vinyl graphics.

- On-air & off-air branding for PlusPlus, a new Ukrainian childrens TV channel. The ‘PlusPlus’brand is designed to be dynamic and flexible with the PlusPlus family at the heart of the brand. Design work includes character direction, typography & all on-air menu systems. We produced extensive on/off-air guidelines for all aspects of the brand. We also worked with London-based character animators Animade to produce a set of teasers, idents & endboard animations.

- ‘Design Film Trilogy’ limited-edition box set of all three Gary Hustwit directed documentary films (Helvetica/Objectified & Urbanized). The set consists of a cloth-bound slip-case, 3 disc-tray and 72 page signed book. The hardback book contains essays by Steven Heller and director Gary Hustwit, with behind-the-scenes photography of all three films. We devised a system of abbreviating each film (He-Helvetica/Ob-Objectified/Ur-Urbanized) giving the box set an individual identity in of itself. This marks the end of a great relationship with Gary and the studio, which started with Michael (Build’s Creative Director) being asked to be in Gary’s first documentary film ‘Helvetica’ (2007), then being asked to design identities/packaging for his next two films ‘Objectified’ (2009) & ‘Urbanized’ (2011).

- Print campaign for printers Generation Press. The East Sussex-based printers had invested in a new state of the art B2 Komori press and wanted a promotional campaign to tell their customers about their ability to take on not only bigger jobs, but making them more capable and competitive in a tough market than ever before. We shot 4 striking images with Jason Tozer (styling by Katy Ingram, w/appearance(s) by Build designer Joe Luxton), involving snooker-playing fencers, a beekeeper, remote-controlled galleon w/paddling pool and a set of twins (+ skull). These were then used as direct mail teaser cards, B2 puzzle mail-outs and a bespoke fold-out brochure (w/custom envelope). Copywriting by Nicky/Build.
