Corey Haim Collapsed, Prescriptions Found (R.I.P.)

Corey Haim collapsed in the bedroom of his mother's apartment and four prescription bottles were found nearby ... law enforcement sources tell TMZ.

We've learned Corey had been sick the last couple of days with flu-like symptoms. The medications recovered, however, were not related to his illness, sources tell TMZ.

We're told no illicit drugs were found in the apartment.

Sources say Haim got out of bed just before 1 AM and collapsed in front of his mother. She called 911 at 12:53 AM and Corey was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead at 2:15 AM.

Corey's mom told authorities he had been battling prescription drug addiction for years.

Authorities believe -- though are not certain -- Corey died of an accidental drug overdose.

UPDATE: We're told the LAPD has wrapped up their preliminary investigation and it's now in the coroner's hands.

Law enforcement sources tell TMZ Corey Haim did indeed OD on drugs, and his mom is the one who discovered him in the apartment and called 911.

Although cause of death is premature, so far law enforcement is telling us it was "possibly accidental."

We're told LAPD has opened a death investigation.

Singer Rick James died in the same apartment complex in 2004.

Corey Haim Found Dead:

Actor Corey Haim died this morning of an apparent overdose -- possibly accidental -- according to LAPD. He was 38.

Police tell us they were called to St. Joseph's hospital in Burbank, CA shortly before 4 AM PT to investigate.

Haim shot to fame in the 80s -- when he co-starred in a number of films, including "The Lost Boys" with Corey Feldman.

Haim reportedly suffered a drug-induced stroke in 2001 and was rushed to UCLA Medical Center.

Haim also reportedly was in and out of rehab 15 times, but cleaned up in 2004 after moving to Toronto

Summit Entertainment has made us wait four long months after the release of "New Moon""Eclipse." It kind of hurts that after all that they only gave us 10 seconds, but fret not, "Twilight" fans, because a full trailer is heading our way tomorrow.

There's not much to say about the 10 seconds, but it shows a lot about where the emphasis of the film will be. "Eclipse" is one big sexual-tension-filled love fest between Edward, Bella and Jacob, and this trailer shows exactly that

First there's the blink-and-you-miss-it shot of Bella and Edward in their meadow, which there isn't much to say about except we missed it in our first time viewing the teaser, and it's awfully darn pretty.

Then the teaser shows Bella (Kristen Stewart) and Edward (Robert Pattinson) lying in bed together, and he says, "I know the consequences of the choice you're making." This choice could refer to one of the two that were agreed upon in the final seconds of "New Moon": that Edward would turn Bella into a vampire, but only if she married him. We're guessing it's the former.

Then (of course) we get a shirtless shot of Jacob (Taylor Lautner) looking — is it even possible? — more buff. "I'm going to fight for you," he says, "until your heart stops beating." The heart-breaking, torn look in Bella's eyes shows that she might actually be considering it.

While we argued earlier that "Eclipse" could be the most guy-friendly "Twilight" yet, this tease is all about the Edward-Bella-Jacob love triangle, and that will whet fans' appetites more than anything else. But we guess the full trailer is going to have some serious action shots as well as Victoria and her newborn army to reach out to other audiences that would typically disregard "Eclipse." But hey, if the Academy can acknowledge "The Twilight Saga" as a horror film (which it is so not), maybe audiences can open their eyes too?

Retweet.com, which put itself up for sale last month, has sold for $250,000 in an online auction on Flippa. The auction saw a fair amount of interest with 45 bids in total, but it appears that the winning party came in with a “buy it now” offer for $48,000 more than the current bid to take ownership of the Tweetmeme competitor.

Like Tweetmeme, the site aggregates the most popular links on Twitter, and also provides third-party websites with buttons that lets their visitors easily retweet articles. Although the service isn’t as popular as Tweetmeme, it has been able to accumulate respectable traffic, and it’s ideal name give it significant branding power. According to the company’s listing on Flippa, there is not yet any revenue.

At this point, we don’t know who the buyer is, though we heard rumblings last month that a major social news site was interested. We’re looking for more information and have contacted the team behind Retweet.com for details. We’ll update if we learn more.

Facebook to Launch Location Features Next Month!

Facebook’s move into location has seemed inevitable for some time, and it now appears that the company will officially reveal its plans at next month’s Facebook developer conference –- f8.

According to The New York Times, the social network will incorporate location in two ways: (1) its own features for sharing location and (2) APIs to let other apps — like Foursquare and Gowalla –- offer location services to Facebook users.

Presumably, Facebook will make sure to address privacy issues with its location features — for example, perhaps with settings that allow you to share your location only with a select group of friends. The Times’ report doesn’t detail the specifics of such features, though it notes that the social network updated its privacy policy late last year in preparation for a location launch.

Facebook will be rolling out its location features to an enormous user base — there are now more than 400 million users of the social network in total, 100 million of which access the site via mobile regularly. The company also has its own native apps for all of the major mobile platforms. All of this gives Facebook’s location features an enormous edge over the competition.

The Times’ report suggests that the competition isn’t the likes of Foursquare and Gowalla, however, but rather Google and its huge base of local small business advertisers. Of course, the startups aren’t ignoring this opportunity either — earlier today, Foursquare shared details of upcoming features it plans to release to help local businesses utilize checkin data.

With Facebook entering the space, though, the other players will need to look to create value in ways beyond checkins and knowing where your friends are located at any given point in time. That’s why Foursquare seems to be so focused on partnerships and gaming, while Gowalla is making moves (as recently as last night) in virtual goods.

In any event, location remains the huge trend so far in 2010, and literally each day seems to bring new indications of which way it will all play out.

Miley Cyrus on BF Liam Hemsworth: “We’re Deeper Than Normal People”

TEEN VOGUE: Miley, before you went to Georgia to film The Last Song, you had just gotten out of a relationship. How did you change over the next few months?

MILEY CYRUS: In L.A., I had so many security blankets, people helping me with everything. I tried to book my friend a flight, and I didn’t know how because I was used to someone doing it for me. I didn’t want a babysitter anymore. I came to Tybee Island crying harder than I had ever cried in my life—and I left with the biggest smile on my face.

TEEN VOGUE: What were your first impressions of each other?

MILEY CYRUS: He’s really tall. I thought, Either I’m going to have to be in heels or standing on something for this entire movie! He definitely showed chivalry: I remember him opening the door for the director, and I was like, Wow.

LIAM HEMSWORTH: I have very good parents (laughs). It was funny—working with Miley was a lot easier than I thought it was going to be. From the first time we read, it was like I had known her before.

TEEN VOGUE: So, you had chemistry right away?

MILEY CYRUS: Yeah. I think we’re both deeper than normal people—what they think and how they feel. He’s very grateful for what he has, but he doesn’t let it go to his head. I’m like that too.

TEEN VOGUE: How many people did you read with?

MILEY CYRUS: Only three. The audition process is so intense.

LIAM HEMSWORTH: Basically, you’re thrown into a room and judged.

MILEY CYRUS: It’s like American Idol, but worse.

TEEN VOGUE: Isn’t that pretty much every day in Los Angeles?

MILEY CYRUS: Uh-huh, but you pay your bills with what they say.

LIAM HEMSWORTH: At the start of this year, I flew to L.A. to do a screen test for a film [Thor] that my brother ended up getting. There are a billion people there trying to do what we do.

TEEN VOGUE: You seem very at ease with each other.

MILEY CYRUS: Honestly, people do not always get along on set, so for two people to want to be together this much …

TEEN VOGUE: Just you, Liam, and the 3 million fans in Georgia.

MILEY CYRUS: I’m happy to meet them, and it’s flattering, but I couldn’t focus. Can you imagine someone at their office—like at a computer—and people are chanting at them while they’re trying to work?

LIAM HEMSWORTH: The first day, I walked out, and one end of the beach was blocked off for fans—screaming kids. I’d never seen that before. It was quite amazing.

MILEY CYRUS: Sometimes you have to remember, OK, what would I have been like if I had met my favorite singer? It is exciting.

TEEN VOGUE: Speaking of music, I read that you’re giving it up?

MILEY CYRUS: The more I make music that doesn’t truly inspire me, the more I feel like I’m blending in with everyone else. So after this next album, I’m taking some time off.

TEEN VOGUE: Liam, do you sing?

LIAM HEMSWORTH: I don’t sing well.

MILEY CYRUS: It’s refreshing to work with an actor who isn’t also a singer and dancer and musician and artist and this and that. I’m sick of quadruple threats who do everything when they should stick to one thing.

TEEN VOGUE: So he’s just a threat?

MILEY CYRUS: He’s a really freaking good actor is what he is. And he’s cute—so he’s got that.

TEEN VOGUE: You guys spent New Year’s in Australia, where Liam is from. Did you have fun?

MILEY CYRUS: I’m used to being in Times Square or something like that, so having a day to chill was awesome. And I got to hang out with his family and friends and see where he grew up.

TEEN VOGUE: I hear the Hemsworths are big surfers. Did you try?

MILEY CYRUS: Nooo. I was like, I’m gonna go to Melbourne and take a shopping break.

TEEN VOGUE: You weren’t the supportive girlfriend waving from the beach?

MILEY CYRUS: No. I was the brat who didn’t watch. I’m not “cute movie” like that.

TEEN VOGUE: Your on-screen roles have been pretty cute movie so far. Now that you’re shooting the last season of Hannah Montana, will there be more of that?

MILEY CYRUS: I’m working on lots of different films: drama, action, comedy. I like challenges, so I’m doing a little bit of everything.

TEEN VOGUE: And you have a cameo in Sex and the City 2. Do you identify with any of the main characters?

MILEY CYRUS: I know everyone says Carrie, but I love Kim Cattrall, so I’ll say Samantha. I want to be her because she’s the hottest, she’s funny, and she has attitude.

TEEN VOGUE: With all of these projects winding down, maybe you’ll be able to take some time off and relax.

MILEY CYRUS: I don’t know if you noticed the past few years of my career? I don’t really believe in breaks.

Gabourey Sidibe met Gerard Butler for the first time on Saturday night and things didn’t go exactly as she wanted.

“I bumped into him yesterday. I feel like I stepped on his foot,” she said.

But on Sunday, while being interview by Access Hollywood’s Billy Bush on the Oscars red carpet, her second meeting with Gerard became forever memorable.

“He’s kinda sexy,” Gabourey told Billy, as she saw Gerard again, standing to her left, just out of earshot. “I’d hit that.”

And as Gerard leaned in to shake her hand, Billy asked Gabby if he really heard her correctly.

“I kinda said, ‘I’d hit that.’ I’m not ashamed,” she said as Gerard heard her words for the first time, reacting with a shock of delight. “I’d hit that. I’m sorry.”

“I’m here, I’m available,” Gerard said after he composed himself from the proposition from the Best Actress nominee. “Let’s go!”’

“Let’s grab a bottle of champagne and see where the night goes,” Gabourey replied.
