Small businesses like Chalmette Amusement Co. of Arabi, LA understand the simple fact that a good website should be considered a revenue producer and not a hard-to-digest expense. Your website, done right, can drive business to your door in ways that even top-notch salespeople find hard to do. After all, websites don't need to sleep...or eat...or stay in expensive hotels...wine and dine clients...

You get the idea.

Today we went live with a new website designed and created by WebCamp One for Chicago area wrestler, Justin Reno. Featuring a rather unique design, this website has been designed to give Mr. Reno a major presence in the wrestling world and to help him promote to and grow his fan base. We wish him well and admit that we had a boat load of fun designing this site.

Visit: http://www.justinreno.com/

Google recently posted a good video that shows what happens when you don't take the time to really think about how to configure your shopping cart to streamline your customer's online shopping experience.

Watch this and, should you ever elect to add e-commerce to your website, please don't let this happen to you. Of course, WebCamp One is always there to help make sure it doesn't.

Why Small Businesses Need Websites

Your company’s website may be the only contact you ever have with your customers. For many business owners, how your company website looks, works, and informs is your only opportunity to make a positive impression. For brick and mortar businesses, the website should spark a desire for an in-person visit.

Websites of this caliber do not happen by chance. It takes more than pretty pictures, do-it-yourself design templates, and basic coding skills to effectively recreate the soul of your company for an online world. It takes a special mix of business sense, development expertise, and design chops to capture, distill, and present the soul of your business on the web, a medium where the decision to stay or go is made within the first three seconds.

WebCamp One has created websites for property management companies, shopping malls, law offices, trade associations, even companies that place jukeboxes, pool tables, and gaming machines in your favorite bar or pizza joint. See our portfolio page for examples of our work.

It's always nice when someone actually takes the time to write up a review on a product. In this case, a few people have written reviews about Ann's book titled, "No More Secs!" Those reviews are posted on Amazon and can be found at the address below. If you've been considering the book, why not take these reviewers to heart and pick up a copy today.

Those who know Ann know that she loves to write. A year or so ago she took it upon herself to begin a memoir, mostly dealing with her life as it unfolded in her mid-40's after being diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (MS.) The process of writing a book is quite interesting to watch, and I had a front row seat. So, after writing, rewriting, editing, rewriting... you get the picture... Ann declared the book "Done."

"No More Secs!" is actually much more than a book about MS. It's about survival, marriage, relationships, children, family, good times and bad. It pulls no punches, but still makes room for spaces where you have to laugh at the absurdity of it all. There are other places in the book where you simply try to comprehend what it must feel like to face the occasional horrors that MS throws at you. Worse, those horrors exist where nobody can help... inside your own body.

Available as an eBook for both Kindle and Nook.

Visit the "No More Secs!" Facebook page at: www.facebook.com/nomoresecs or the "No More Secs!" website at www.nomoresecs.com.

WebCamp One partner, Ann Pietrangelo, has written a memoir titled "No More Secs!" about her life since being diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis when she was 44. Of course, we created a website for the book. It can be found at: www.nomoresecs.com.

The book is currently available in eBook formats for the Kindle and Nook platforms. We plan on making it available in more stores in the near future. PLUS, we are working on having it available on Amazon in print form.

Firefox 4.0

I've been working with Firefox's new browser--version 4.0--for the past few days. So far I like it a lot more than their previous versions. Truth be told, I had almost stopped using Firefox altogether. It was just getting too bogged down on itself, taking FOREVER to load, stumbling on certain pages, etc.

The new version seems lighter, faster, more responsive. I've gone back to it and encourage my clients to do likewise.

New Website for Rhode Island Property Management Company

We're proud to announce that we've just released a new website for our client, Real Estate Property Management, Inc. of Woonsocket, Rhode Island.

The site can be found at: http://www.repm.com/.

This website incorporates a content management system that allows our client to create and edit listings for their properties and features a maintenance request form so that tenants can easily notify the company of any maintenance issues, anytime, day or night.

The site is coded in HTML5 and uses CSS3 for presentation. In addition, the site uses JavaScript, jQuery, PHP, MySQL, and Flash for the photo gallery slideshows. We did both the design and all the coding.
