What's going on? Where is Swivel Radio?

Hello all... again...

Like I first mentioned I am a University student and therefore have other duties that can not be postponed. One of those duties is to studying. Over the past month I have just finished my exams, my final large projects, and then took a week to relax. And now we are back! Sorry for the break in shows but I felt that it would be better to just pause production of shows until I would be able to produce a good quality show again.

To reduce / prevent other lags in production of new Swivel Radio shows I have created a brother Blog. This blog is called "The Daily Marty", and will focus on a daily update of new content. This way I can look over what has happened since the last show and know what is best to focus on. The other great part about this is that there is potential to have additional links or other content that I may not be able to put on the PodCast because of time or lack of visuals. So either wait for the weekly Swivel Radio PodCast with new topics, music, links, news, etc. or check in daily for new updates.

Second Podcast show. Yet again no mention of "Swivel Radio". This show is mainly a second test and useful for me to test out some new upgraded equipment from that of the 1st official podcast two days prior. Still the show lacks content but for all those who are interested in going back to the start this is the place. This Officially is the first Podcast show. As you will see the show is very crude and not well organized. Topics and ideas are not yet set out, and there is no mention of "Swivel Radio". This show was mainly done as a test, and has the name "Martin's Podcast". Though this show is posted for those who which to go back to the beginning and see how it all started. Welcome to Swivel Radio!

Swivel Radio is a great podcast containing varied topics and interesting content. Topics can be from Music to Reviews, How-to's to daily views, Canadian news and abroad.

I welcome any input or ideas here at this blog or though SwivelRadio@gmail.com. You can send mp3 voice comments or if you have a band and want to get your music featured sent that in too!

How To: Get Swivel Radio

A Podcast is basically a free subscription to a audio magazine. In order to receive this magazine you must download a program which will automatically download the newest feed and put it into your music player (computer and/or portable).

The best programs currently are:

iPodder (Win, Mac, Linux, etc) - http://ipodder.sourceforge.net/index.php
iPodderx (Mac) - http://ipodderx.com/download

Once you download one of these programs or another program which will automatically download the feeds to your computer you will need to subscribe to feeds.

Swivel Radio Feed - http://feeds.feedburner.com/SwivelRadio
(For iPodder it's as simple as coping the link above and pasting into the "Add feed manually" field and clicking Add.)

Your done!

When there is a new mp3 the program will automatically download it and you can listen to it on your audio player (i.e. iTunes) or on your mp3 player the next time you sync it to your computer (i.e. iPod)

OR
Download iPodder, and subscribe to the feed.

Yes, all programs, and the feed itself is free!

Can I help?
Yes, this is half of why I posted this on here. I'm looking for people who would like to add content to the audio program. Either with show ideas and links to good related sites and make show notes that go along with it. Or Participate with actual audio voice on the show or in your own small weekly editorial about a topic of your choice.

What positions are Needed?

- Audio weekly editorial (on any approved topic)
- Content, Suggestions, etc.

Who is listening?
currently only people who read this or talk to me on msn are listening. But within a show or two I plan on listing the site with all the main index sites of podcasts. Since there aren't that many out there currently we can grab listeners quickly and easily. Some shows have upwards of 50,000 listeners!. (My first goal is 100 but would like to move up from that)

That content was boring!
Maybe that's true so far, but please not they are early shows with not a lot of direction. With help from you we can put together a great show!

Ya you can tell I'm in business because I have a mission statement, which is to encompass the whole reason for doing something.

To create a fun, and entertaining podcast, which will achieve a large audience, and cover a large variety of subjects and continue to evolve and keep changing.
