Rezero is the first ballbot prototype which is able to move fast. It is designed and built by a team of incredibly skilled engineering students. Rezero has a sole contact point on ground, a sphere (ball) for locomotion and the gyro systems makes it move dynamically and stand gracefully in front of the people. Different sensors are kept so as to perform various tasks, such as to keep certain distances from a person, orbiting a person and even dancing beautifully.

Péter Frankhauser talks on Rezero’s many beneficial use in future. Such robots can be very useful for transportation; as a virtual assistants in hospitals and museums. There are so many possibilities.

In 1967 an experiment(small world experiment) done by “While Stanley Milgram” which was drew on 296 voluenteers and pegged the average number of people seprating two individuals are over 5.2 peoples or 6 hops.

Now an recent experiment was done over 721 million active Facebook users shows the number of separation is even less than 5.2 . In a note it states:

We found that six degrees actually overstates the number of links between typical pairs of users: While 99.6% of all pairs of users are connected by paths with 5 degrees (6 hops), 92% are connected by only four degrees (5 hops).

This means  that no two peoples are seperated by more than 4 intermediates connections.  It have also found that in a same country the world is even smaller.The seperation of degree is found to be only 3 connections.
This research was concluded in november of this year. In 2008 the average number of connection was found to be 5.28 hops but now it is reduced to only 4.74 hops.

The idea of “Six degrees of seperation” was proposed on 1929  by Hungarian author Frigyes Karinthy, and made popular by the John Guare play and movie, Six Degrees of Separation.

Galaxy Nexus by Samsung and Google is the first phone with Android ICS. It was announced along with the OS itself. We can expect a phone and tablet manufacturers to announce phones and tablets built-in with Android ICS. Google has stated that theoretically any device running Android 2.3 can be updated to Android 4.0. Some manufactures may not make the updates available for their current Android 2.3 phones.

I have here listed the manufacturers and their possible new Android 4.0 phones as well as those upgradable to Android 4.0 :

Samsung’s Android 4.0 ICS phones / tablets

New Samsung phones / tablets : Galaxy Nexus is the first phone manufactured by Samsung featuring Android 4.0. Samsung Galaxy S3 will be featuring Android 4.0 and is expected to be released on 2012 with quad-core processor. Samsung hasn’t announced any new tablets running Android 4.0 but we can expect new version of Galaxy Tab featuring Android ICS to be released in 2012.

Current Samsung phones that can be upgraded to 4.0 : Samsung has already confirmed that its two high-end phones Galaxy S2 and Galaxy Note will get Android ICS update soon. Google has confirmed that Nexus S manufactured by Samsung will also get the update. Not confirmed but we can expect that Samsung’s tablets Galaxy Tab 10.1, Galaxy Tab 8.9, Galaxy Tab 7.7 and Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus which currently run Android 3.0 Honeycomb will get Android 4.0 update soon.

LG’s Android 4.0 phones / tablets :

New LG phones/ tablets : According to GSMArena, LG Optimus U1 may be the first LG phone with Android ICS releasing on 2012 though it is not officially announced by LG. For tablets, we can expect new upgraded version of LG Optimus Pad with Android ICS to be released on 2012.

Current LG phones / Tablets that can be upgraded: Its is still not confirmed if LG Optimus 2X will get the Android 4.0 update. According to GSMArena, LG initially stated that it will not release ICS update for Optimus 2X. Later, LG replied saying they are working on it. Similarly, official Android 4.0 update is not confirmed for LG Optimus pad.

Motorola’s Android 4.0 phones / tablets:

New Motorola phones / Tablets : Motorola have announced that it will release Android 4.0 devices 6 weeks after Google releasing the final version of the OS. So, we can expect Motorola devices with Android 4.0 to be released around January 2012.

Motorola phones/tabled that can be updated: Motorola have confirmed that it will update Motorola DROID RAZR, Motorola RAZR, Motorola XOOM and DROID BIONIC to Android ICS soon.

HTC’s Android 4.0 Phones / Tablets

New HTC Phones: HTC hasn’t announced any Android 4.0 phone yet but they were OEMs to speak up on the matter by declaring that they’re already looking into the new features and enhancements to determine their upgrade path. So, we can expect new HTC phones with Android 4.0 being announced on early 2012.

Android 4.0 update for current HTC phones : As hinted by HTC, they are looking at Android 4.0 for upgrade. Their challenge may be to modify the stock Ice Cream Sandwich experience with their Sense UI. Though not officially announced, it can be confirmed that HTC’s dual core phones Sensation and EVO 3D as well as their variants will get ICS update. It is still not clear about the other phones.

Sony Ericsson’s Android 4.0 phones / tablets:

Sony Ericsson will roll out Ice Cream Sandwich update to all 2011 Xperia handsets. Phones that should receive the update include the Xperia Play, Xperia neo and neo V, Mini Pro, Xperia Ray, and the Xperia arc. New phones with Android ICS are not still announced by Sony Ericsson.

'Phones and Tablets with Android 4.0 Ice-cream Sandwich

You can download Sparkleshare from the Android market. For now, the app can only be used to view or download files. The team is working on the app to make browsing experience a lot smoothers and to add additional features like uploading files. You can watch the video showing Sparkleshare for Android.

Inspired by the iPhone App, developers from Dexetra has come up with its clone – iris after an effort of 8 hours. It may not be currently comparable to the iPhone app developed by a huge team but certainly shows big potential.

The developer Narayan Babu on his blog earlier wrote “We were not even planning to put this into Android market when we started, but if people are really liking it, we will brush it up, make it more interesting and make it a product that adds some real value to the users.”

The app was got an space on Techcrunch and spread suddenly. Excited by the response, the developer writes - “Thank you for making Iris the toast of the Android World. Frankly, its been a helluva ride ! We do understand what you desire and make no mistake, we are striving to get ya’all what you wish. All I could say is – Watch out for the upcoming updates”.

'Iris – A Siri-like app for Android

The first countries to have Galaxy Nexus in the market are expected to be Austria, Canada, Denmark, Finland, Japan, Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, United States and United Kingdom. It is reported that the phone will be available on Verizon in US. Sprint may too launch it soon. Price in countries like India are still unknown.

'Samsung Galaxy Nexus – Pricing and availability

Rovio is the Helsinki-based company developing hugely popular gaming sensation Angry Birds. Back in July, Rovio recruited former Marvel Studios Chairman David Maisel as a special adviser who explained about plans in turning Angry Birds into a “larger entertainment franchise”. And this week at the Web 2.0 Summit in San Francisco, Rovio has confirmed that it is working on a film version of Angry Birds. David Maisel will lead the creation of the movie and it will hit big screens in early 2014.

In June, the company acquired Finnish animation studio Kombo for an undisclosed amount of cash and stock. Variety reported that it plans to “become another Pixar”, evolving from a popular game industry to an entertainment franchise with animated shorts, movies, TV shows and licensed merchandise. And Kombo will help achieve its long-term goal of becoming a “world-class powerhouse in animated entertainment.”

Rovio is currently working on short animated Angry Birds videos which is expected to be released next year. It has already released several animated clips and Angry Birds comics on different seasons. For Angry Birds fans, Rovio Today has revealed the newest addition to the Angry Birds flock, the Orange Bird with a release of Halloween Trick ‘r Treat Seasonal short animation. It’s a ballooning bird. The new Angry Birds Seasons Ham’O'Ween level pack is now available for iPhone and Android Smartphones.

No other technology focus or specifications on the new iPhone 4S can be seen on this thirty-second clip. We can just see people using the Artificial Intelligence application Siri, asking iPhone to check weather reports, find definition of words, adjust calendar entries and find local locksmiths.
