I've run the Web CEO program to analyze our website. One of the "Optimization Advice" points that got produced was "Your keyword is not present at the end of your page. Your page will be more relevant if your keyword appears at the end of the visible text. To achieve this, put your keyword in the last 50 words of your copy." I've never seen this before when studying about SEO practices, and unless I didn't quite search the right thing, Google didn't return any results that proves or disproves this fact Web CEO is dishing out.

Has anyone heard that it is good SEO practice to specifically include your keywords at the end of the page? I thought the rule of thumb was just to have it spread throughout, but words near the top of the page have more relevance and importance.

Hey, I'm new here and also pretty new to web development and SEO. I feel like I'm comfortable with most of the basics of SEO, but have a few questions that I simply could not find the answer to anywhere.

So, I've got a site where there's a page of archived audio files (I can't post links yet because I have under 10 posts, but the link to the site is in my sig...it's the Archive section of the site). This archive list is generated through PHP. I'm wondering if it's possible to turn the titles of the audio files into keywords, or if there's any possible way to make them searchable.

Also along those lines, does anyone know a good resource or have tips for audio/mp3 search optimization?

In my previous post i mentioned that with the key words "best time management" and "time management for students" my site is on first page of google but i am getting no traffic increase.

I got so helpful replies now my question is that will it be helpful if i pay google for publishing my ads on different sites? and if yes how much will it cost to me?

I am currently working with an eCommerce site that has created a new product for their industry. The new product is related, however; it is much more different than what is out on the market now. My question is, is it better to create a sub page or a category page under the main domain or just create a brand new domain with the name of the product?

So in an attempt to lessen the possibility of my articles being considered spam (for a lack of a better label) I've thought that rather than only creating links to my site within my articles, but adding outbound links to other (what I could consider to be) authority sites would make my articles seem less about me (my site) and more about the topic...

When you write articles do you mostly add links back to your site or do you add links to other sites as well - always, sometimes or for the most part if you do add links at all?

I'm basically looking for the best ways to enhance my articles and get the most from them from an SEO perspective as possible.

rel=nofollow in Main Navigation?

I'm thinking of adding the nofollow attribute to my sites main navigation since it is really there for usability... I'm hoping this will "juice" the pages linked to from inside my content?

The goal being to better distribute page rank to the pages linked from inside my content... Which I am hoping will boost the relevancy for both the linking page, and the linked page.

- Does anyone know if nofollow effects "content silos?"

Why a 100 link limit per page?

Why does Google recommend only 100 links per page? What is the theory behind this? Is it for PageRank purposes?

So if i have 150 links, do i need to prioritise them and the bottom 50 make them rel=nofollow?

Or is it best to add rel=nofollow to things like

Create an Account
Links to XHTML validator, etc

Therefore im left with links to category and product pages. Any real world examples would be great!

Hi all,

I have to move a website from a country tld to a .com (example: from domain.co.uk to domain.com).
The website has been live for 6 years, we have several millions of pages and about 20 million visits/month.
domain.com has been live for several years too, with little content (one page).

Has anyone had to go through the same process, and what impact has it had on the organic traffic? (short and long-term)

We should be able to to all the proper 301 redirections, use the Geographic target tool on GWT, etc. so thechnically the transition should go smoothly, I am just worried about how Google, Yahoo and MSN are going to handle this change.

The relationship between results on different search engines

Can anyone clearly define for me which search engines effectively share results? I am sure I saw somewhere that Google serves its results to Yahoo... but when I search for my site on google for certain terms I am No1 on Google but nowhere in Yahoos results.

I re-writing a 2.x YUI Tooltip widget and decided to rethink how I have end users pass in parameters; let me explain; I have an anchor tag (link SEO for that link?

I have other options; like put it in a rel or rev tag; but my question is how will google look at this? Do they even look at rel or rev tags any more?

Obviously I want to have Tooltips of div's and other tags, so where do I hide this information in them? I use to use the style="content: this_parameter|equals_this", once Opera started rendering the content and not just the before and after, so I had to normalize every tag if the browser was Opera; but this technique works for all tags; so it seemed like the best one to use, overall; it validates also; but is this the best way to do this?

There is a fine line Widget designers need to walk, SEO, Accessibility and ease of use for end users, most who are none programmers types; I'd like to get as many options from webmasters whom might use Widgets in their pages; how would you like to interact with a widget?
