Flash image covers a js dropdown menu

Hi everyone,

I'm a newbie when it comes to flash designs.

I created a large embedded flash image for a test page Im creating with the intention of making it my index page. I'm also using a js dropdown menu. The problem Im having is that the flash image covers the menu.

I've tried changing the z-index divs for both the flash and js, without sucess, and added which just messes up the flash background.

I'm now at a loss. Im pretty sure though, that one of you more experienced techies can help.

I'd appreciate some other suggestions for solving my problems. Unfortunately my post count doesnt allow me to post the url.

I found it today on my second line in my homepage coding....I have never
realized it before.....and I have used FP2003 to create.

I just don't want it to be problematic and if I need to replace it with something
else, i wish to do so

I needed a new webdesign done for a booking site and I finally accepted the layout and I asked the designer to send me the template with the style sheet and he says:

No, I am designer not a coder. He offeres me to deliver a organized-layererd-PSD file instead and I should hire a coder for $30 which will do the rest.

Wo is correct ? I always recived templates but never this. Is he entitled for a full payment?

Hi there people, I realise there's loads of solutions to this problem out there via google, but the proxy at work is very, very unreasonably and while I wait for some sites to be allowed I thought I could maybe pick your brains!

Well I basically have a few background PNG images and I would like to know which method would best display these in the "wonderful" IE6?

A would very, very much appreciate your help, in fact I will name my first born after the person who suggests the best solution!

Newbie CSS (ie6) formatting problem

Hi there!

First of all I would like to introduce myself! My name is Ash, I live in Australia and I'm currently working on a website for a business our family will be starting up in the next few months! I have had many years of experience in the I.T industry however have never specialized in any sort of web programming.

After many years of experimenting with CMS's & Basic HTML websites I have started to teach myself the wonderful world of XHTML + CSS (for SEO), and boy have I learnt alot! Needless to say, when 'self-teaching' the learning curve is steep when trying to produce an idea without going back to 'grade 1'. I have tried to follow the basic rules of web page creation and have done plenty of market research to decide on a decent layout, etc (for seo etc, which will be my next tackle!)

I think *so far* I've done pretty well considering that i'm a beginner, and have restructured the site a few times already due to the learning processes (even though site previously passed the XHTML test + sitereportcard, there was *IMO* incorrect use of tags etc).

My problem now lies with the CSS (I believe). I have the site looking just how I want it to in 8, Firefox 3.5(b) and Chrome (Chrome being my default browser of choice) - however as soon as I view the page in IE6, everything goes out of wack - and I'm hoping some of the experienced here could help me resolve the problem.

I have spent many hours trying *different* things but could never manage to get it looking how it should; e.g; changing float values, padding values, and many more and combinations of - in the end I changed things so much that I decided to just take it back to the way I had it before I began to look into fixing it to ask for some professional advice!!

As you can see (I hope) in your *recently released* browser how I would like it to look, everything lined up and looking 'ok' but then try in IE6 and see how the navigations goes out of wack, and the corner top and bottom images move position also.

Any help would be appreciated, you could save me hours of frustrating editing!!!

on third look, IE7 also isn't correct either. (using IETester software for compatibility views)

I've been looking back at old threads, seeking suggestions on open-source (really, "free") html editors, and I don't see that anyone has mentioned Arachnophilia. I'm wondering if those that have played with it found it seriously lacking, or if the others mentioned were just that much better. The same holds true for PageBreeze.

Any opinions on either of these, anyone?

I need basic web graphic answers...

When I download a gif from my website script, it appears like a thin line.
I expected to see the 1" by 1" graphic solid color image that appeared on the site. Is it just a thin line that expands once the web page size is set? How does this work?

Help with frame/border?

Can someone advise me on how to re-create the border/frame/ around the attached image.

I remember this use to be quiet easy in an old version of Photoshop or paint shop pro, but I can't remember.
