My Results With Maverick Money Makers

Ok, now onto my results.. It’s every seller’s nightmare. You know, when you’re not getting enough sales even if you truly believe your market will benefit from your product. You can approach this problem in a number of ways. Let me show you some of the easiest methods you can use so you can implement them soon and increase your sales immediately.

1. Market Your Product

Marketing is basic stuff when it comes to selling something. But there are still people who create products and expect others to simply come to them from nowhere and buy. Unfortunately, that’s not how it works. You must tell people that your product exists, and you do that through marketing. I won’t discuss marketing in detail here due to space constraints, but let me put it plainly for you.

Marketing is all about building relationships with your market, and convincing them to buy from you.

If you’re going to sell something, you’ll spend most of your time marketing it. So I recommend you learn as much as you can about marketing if you want to sell your products to more people.

2. Give Incentives to Your Current Customers

4 Under Utilized Copywriting Techniques That Turn More Browsers Into Buyers!

You may not consider yourself a copywriter, but if you’re writing sales pages for products you sell on the internet (even through direct mail), then I’m sure you’re using different copywriting techniques to do the job.

So you’re likely familiar with creating compelling headlines, telling a story, the power of using PSs (post scripts) on your copy, and all the other basic stuff. Now here are some underutilized copywriting techniques you can use to write even more powerful copy.

Ready? Read on.

1. Closing the deal.

You’ve got the perfect headline. You’ve written a compelling story that your readers can relate to. Now what? Remember that the goal of your copy is to persuade your readers into buying your product. And so now you must close the deal.

Closing the deal is a copywriting technique that many copywriters fare poorly at. Fail to do that, and your prospects will leave the page without buying anything from you.

Here are a few quick tips on closing the deal:

A. You must be able to persuade the reader that the price he/she’s paying for is small compared to the value he/she receives in return,
B. Erase the risk of buying your product by providing a guarantee,
C. Place your prospect at the crossroads to help that prospect focus on the decision he/she’s going to make.

Again, you’re writing the sales letter to sell the product, not tell a nice story. So learn how to close the sale.

2. Writing bullets.

If you’re going to write a sales letter, begin by writing bullets – hundreds of them (yes, hundreds).

Bullets do more than just showing quickly your readers the benefits of your offer. They can also do other things such as stimulate your readers’ curiosity, keep your prospects reading (which is of course what you want to do in your copy), and more. Best of all, if you’ve written hundreds of bullets, you can use the most powerful and compelling one as your headline!

Need an example? How about this: “7 Ways the Recession can Wipe Out Your Savings… Plus, What Can You Do to Prevent It!” If you’re worried about losing your money because of recession, there’s no way you’d want to miss the information the bullet promises.

3. Show, don’t tell.

Your sales letter will be even more effective when it hits your prospects emotionally. When you successfully evoke their emotion about something they can relate to, then selling the product to them would be much easier.

And the subtler your approach, the better.

Don’t simply say, “don’t you just hate working for your boss?” Tell them a story they can relate to instead. Example: “Monday, 8am. I hadn’t even put my bag on my desk yet when my boss called me and said, ‘could you fix me a cup of coffee?’ The gall. And he hasn’t even paid me my last month’s salary yet!”

See what I mean?

4. Split Testing.

Alright, this isn’t in itself copywriting. But if you really want to get the best results out of your sales letter, you should test it. Split Testing is about directly comparing two sales letters, or a number of particular elements (e.g. headline, offer, payment options) and see which sales letter or element wins.

The great thing about testing is that you can find out what works in your copy without the guesswork. And more, you can now do it for free. Google has a free tool called Website Optimizer that lets you perform split (A/B) or multivariate tests. Go check it out today.

The Importance Of Split Testing

I was just in a meeting today with a company that wanted to improve their conversions on a FREE front end offer. Amazingly, the company in question has a big budget and is currently spending in the region of £30k per week on TV Advertising.

The thing that amazes me is that they never even did any split testing on the site first with PPC or their existing traffic to improve their conversion rate from a paltry 14% on a FREE offer. I won’t go into the details of the company or the offer, but for what they are offering for free, they should get well over a 14% conversion on their offer.

Anyhow, I wanted to point out to you the importance of split testing your websites pages, lead capture pages, backgrounds, layouts, buttons, whatever it may be it can be tested to improve the response rate from your visitors.

It’s amazing the improvements you can get in your conversion rates by testing the smallest of things. I recently setup an affiliate site that pre sells a popular computer software tool. On the homepage of the site I was testing how many people clicked on a button to view the affiliate offer, just by testing 3 different colours in Google Website Optmizer I got an improvement of 42% in click volume. Amazing results from just changing 1 thing on a website, and the colour of a button at that!

Big Companies Live Or Die By Testing

Take Amazon and Godaddy for instance, they spent a fortune testing their sites to improve conversions and with the budgets they have, they would be stupid not too. Just take a look around their sites and really pay attention to the upsell process on each and how the elements work together to squeeze more money out of you, once you have your credit card at hand… Clever stuff!

If you have never used Google Website Optimizer on your site then I encourage you to just setup a simple split test and try it, on your order buttons, or your call to action images. Adding a Retweet Button To Your Blog

Twitter is all the rage these days and until today I never utilitized the retweet button for this blog. Now at the bottom of the post you will notice the share this plugin I use and the retweet button on the right.

Twitter is the fastest growing website of all time and having this little button on my blog should increase my traffic and exposure to my posts across the twitter network.

Surprisingly, it was very simple to install. If you would like to install one for your blog you can find the full instructions and options at tweetmeme, where you can add a web button, add the retweet to your rss feed, embed it into your email and the plugins you need to add it to your wordpress blog.

Whether you are using performance-based cost-per-action affiliate networks or regular pay-per-click, the trick to making more money lies in how much traffic you can attract to those offers. Internet marketers understand that is isn’t just a simple case of getting the highest earnings-per-click (EPC) offer, it’s also about understanding how to attract highly targeted traffic to these offers in large streams. If you are having a little bit of trouble generating the income you desire from affiliate marketing, think about implementing some of these traffic-generating strategies to amp up the performance and your final payout.

Article Marketing

Join several article directories and start posting targeting articles in the niche you are trying to market. This does two things, it allows you to quickly find people who might have an interest in the product or service being promoted in your affiliate offer and it also let’s you add a link in the resource section sending them back to some area where you can market them further. Just keep in mind that there are guidelines on what you can do with these articles, although making them search-engine friendly with keywords in your niche is always appreciated. Don’t overload the articles with too many keywords, instead keep them to 1% to 2% of the total content of the article. Add your link to the resource box, either to the affiliate offer (if that’s allowed) or your website and pages that offer that include that offer as a promotional link.

Answer Some Pertinent Questions

There are numerous online question and answer sites that are ripe areas to mine for leads. Don’t spam these services, and instead seek to contribute to the conversation and make the link relevant to the dialog. Since users will rate the communities answers, if you show up and just post a link back to an offer, it will be flagged as spam and you will have wasted your time. Instead seek to add value to the conversation while gaining a foothold to allow your link to be valuable to the readership. Take a look at Yahoo! Answers and Mega to start generating leads from these areas.

Pull Traffic From Social Networks

This is one of the newest and hottest ways to generate traffic back to your offers. Build a profile in any of the popular social networking sites: Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, or LinkedIn. Add information to that profile that is relevant to the market niche where you have promising affiliate offers to promote. You won’t be allowed to solicit people within the social networking site, but you can update your status with links back to an intermediary page where your offers are posted. It takes a very suave touch to learn how to market these sites successfully as any hard sell will quickly get you a reputation as a hard core marketer, and you might end up losing friends and sales.

Other Ways To Plug Into Traffic Streams

Any site that allows you to contribute to their content and has large amounts of traffic is a good place to generate some Internet presence. This can be popular blogs, commenting on major news sites and stories, online groups and forums, and video sites. Just find a way to add your links in accordance with the terms of service and use these sites to generate traffic to boost the income from your affiliate offers.

Mark Ling’s Affilorama is a product that has seen its way around the Internet a few times. Initially, this was priced at over $250 but since, Mark has generously made his Affilorama training available for free.

The quick history behind Affilorama is that it is not the Internets newest affiliate training program, but it is perhaps the most honest. Up until recently, this entire catalog was subscription only, but the owner, Mark Ling has recently split the course up into a free version, alongside a subscription model for his advanced students looking for that little bit more.

After registering and receiving a confirmation e-mail, the only catch seems to be a tremendously corny name for a training program! Affilorama features hours and hours of professionally recorded training videos which are backed with notes, software and literally everything that is needed to start building an affiliate income.

As experienced internet Marketing experts ourselves, we also know our way around the internet, and after taking a look at the details of this course with literally tons of videos, we were stunned to see that Mark and his team are not focused on the get rich quick mindset, but sound internet Marketing techniques that have been tested time and time again. Using the techniques learned on Affilorama the only limitation is yourself. Mark makes sure any technical terms are covered and clearly defined, and he also ensures that the pace is slow enough to cater to beginners, but also challenging enough to remain motivating.

Google Content Network vs Search Network

For years now I have always claimed how good I believe the Google content network is in driving converting traffic. Most people are afraid to test it for fear of losing money and getting no conversions as they *heard* the search network performs better. (I’ve tested the content network in various markets, and most of them outperformed the Search network by a factor of 2-1.)
