This is another awesome tutorial – it’s just opens your eyes to how easy things can be, you just have to try it once! I’ve always wanted to know how to convert PSD to CSS and to make proper PSD templates but it just seems to baffle me. Now with this I really think I may try it – it could actually work out! In this tutorial we will start with the Photoshop file that was designed as part of the previous tutorial (which can be downloaded from Folio Focus), and we will work our way through the process of converting that design into a coded page. We’re also going to implement a jQuery slider, so the lead image will be part of a rotation rather than just a static image. Have fun with the tutorial!

I just found this awesome article explaining how to create rounded corners with CSS3! A few years back, rounded corners became one of the signature design elements of the Web 2.0 trend. Even though they started as a fad, rounded corners are more than simple eye candy. They also have a role in separating or grouping the sections of a page.

As CSS3 gets closer to becoming the new standard for mainstream design, the days of rounded corners through elaborate background images is fading. This means less headache and time spent working out alternatives for each browser. Make your rounded corners!

We all know that a tree doesn’t always have green leaves, water is not blue and clouds are certainly not always white and puffy. As designers, we need to know to look beyond the obvious when looking at things.

New Solar Battery Charger

How awesome is this! Buying rechargable batteries is always far better than purchasing the disposable ones. However, it’s still not a perfect method. It helps so that you’re throwing away less batteries, but at the same time you’re still plugging something into the wall and using your electricity to charge the batteries. Instead of plugging a battery charger into the wall, this ReNEW would allow for your rechargable batteries to become even more eco-friendly.

This ReNEW charger allows for you to just drop the batteries through the top slot and once the battery is all charged it will drop out of the bottom. On the back of the unit is a solar panel that is the resource of the power pumped into your batteries. The charger can either sit on a tabletop like a picture frame or you could use the suction cup to attach it to a window. It’s a fantastic design, but sadly it is still a concept.
