If you modify or make additions to Internet Explorer 8, it can cause random program crashes or features to malfunction. These problems include:

	* Font sizes do not change
	* Yellow background stays behind text after editing.
	* Text jumps when you double click on the text object to edit it
	* Problems with galleries
	* Crashes when copying and pasting
	* Other random problems

Reason for the Problem
Our research leads us to believe that Internet Explorer 8 Add-Ons from third party developers are corrupting IE8. Some of the Add-Ons work fine, but some can cause problems with Windows programs. Add-Ons can even interact with each other to cause even more problems.

IE8 Reset (Internet Explorer 8 Reset)
This solution will NOT cause you to lose any Favorites or Home page settings or affect any other browsers that you use.
(http://mail.webstudio.com/fogbugz/default.asp?pg=pgDownload&pgType=pgWikiAttachment&ixAttachment=1644&sFileName=Info%20Blue%20Square.gif) If your computer is connected to a Proxy Server, DO NOT do this procedure, it will break the connection to your Proxy Server. If yo don't know what a Proxy Server is, contact your IT person to see if you are using one. If you don't have an IT person, you don't have a Proxy Server.

	* Close Web Studio
	* If you haven't upgraded to Internet Explorer 8 yet, then click to upgrade at http://www.microsoft.com/windows/internet-explorer/worldwide-sites.aspx (http://www.microsoft.com/windows/internet-explorer/worldwide-sites.aspx). Choose your operating system on the right side of the page. Download and install Internet Explorer 8.
	* Now open Internet Explorer 8, click on the Tools drop down menu, and then choose Internet Options at the bottom.

(http://mail.webstudio.com/fogbugz/default.asp?pg=pgDownload&pgType=pgWikiAttachment&ixAttachment=1650&sFileName=wiki%20ie8%201.png)

	* Click the Connections tab and then press the LAN Settings. This opens the Local Area Network (LAN) Settings dialog.

(http://mail.webstudio.com/fogbugz/default.asp?pg=pgDownload&pgType=pgWikiAttachment&ixAttachment=1651&sFileName=wiki%20ie8%206.png)

	*
If you have entered information into any of these fields you will need to write them down on a piece of paper as these will be reset during this process and are necessary for you to connect to the internet. There are two sections to the LAN Settings. Make sure you write down all of the information. If these are blank, just press Cancel.

(http://mail.webstudio.com/fogbugz/default.asp?pg=pgDownload&pgType=pgWikiAttachment&ixAttachment=1652&sFileName=wiki%20ie8%207.png)

	* Now, click on the Advanced tab and then click the Reset button at the bottom of the window.

(http://mail.webstudio.com/fogbugz/default.asp?pg=pgDownload&pgType=pgWikiAttachment&ixAttachment=1646&sFileName=wiki%20ie8%202.png)
(http://mail.webstudio.com/fogbugz/default.asp?pg=pgDownload&pgType=pgWikiAttachment&ixAttachment=1644&sFileName=Info%20Blue%20Square.gif) If you get an error that says you need to close other programs before you can reset, then restart your computer and go through these steps again.
(http://mail.webstudio.com/fogbugz/default.asp?pg=pgDownload&pgType=pgWikiAttachment&ixAttachment=1648&sFileName=wiki%20ie8%204.png)

	* When you click the Reset button in the Advanced tab, a new window opens.

(http://mail.webstudio.com/fogbugz/default.asp?pg=pgDownload&pgType=pgWikiAttachment&ixAttachment=1649&sFileName=wiki%20ie8%205.png)

	* In the new window, click the Reset button. DO NOT check the box that says Delete Personal Settings.
	* After it finishes the reset, press the Close button. It will ask you to restart Internet Explorer. Close Internet Explorer comnpletely and then reopen it.
	* Internet Explorer will prompt you with a few questions about how ou'd like to use itl These are personal preferences that will not affect how Web Studio is used.</itunes:summary>

 <itunes:summary>(wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2009/08/TV_PlayButton_v01_200.png) Web Studio has powerful tools for creating forms, but before objects can become an active form, the objects need to be grouped. Grouping the form objects is how you tell Web Studio which form objects belong together. If you imagine a page with more than one form, you can see why the grouping of form objects is necessary. This episode shows how to group a form, and how to avoid a common problem, which occurs when an object is "behind" the form group. If you click & drag the form group (the translucent box with the red border), all the objects that move along with it are considered by Web Studio to be included in that form group. Sometimes an object seems at first glance to be part of the form group, but is actually "behind" the group. In this case, you'll need to either bring that object forward, or bring the form group backwards, using the Page Layout Tab (?p=120).</itunes:summary>

At PayPal (http://www.paypal.com/), choose sign-up at the top. Make sure you sign up for a Business Account, and enter your information. With a business account, you will be able to do transactions under your business name, you'll be able to accept credit and debit card payments, and you'll be covered by paypal's 24-hour fraud surveillance, among other features. Next, you'll choose which payment solution you'd like to sign up for. Website Payments Standard might be right for you. If you're not sure, PayPal can recommend a solution based on your needs.

Next, you'll begin PayPal's 3-step sign up process. First you'll enter your business and financial information. Next, you'll want to allow PayPal to verify your email address and bank account information in order for funds to be transferred directly into your bank account, rather than your PayPal account. The verification process will take a few days, during which PayPal will deposit money into your account so that you can verify the amount. Once verified, you'll be able to use the Shopping Cart group in the Create Tab to make Pay Pal buttons on your own site. Watch the Shopping Cart group video (?p=183) for help.</itunes:summary>

 <itunes:summary>(http://webstudiotv.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2009/08/TV_PlayButton_v01_200.png)Web Studio automatically generates an XML Sitemap of your website when it is published. This sitemap is updated every time you upload a change to your site, so it always stays current. The only thing you need to do to take full advantage of this transparent feature is enter your site URL into the Website Properties dialog box (located at the right-hand side of the Caption Bar). Enter your URL into the Website Address field in the General tab of the box. If you upload your site before entering your URL into the Website Properties box, Web Studio will prompt you to enter it before you upload. It is recommended that you enter your URL, since you'll gain all the benefits that a sitemap will bring.

Having a Google sitemap will help increase your search engine rankings and allow the internet to work harder for you. To get the most mileage out of Webstudio's automatically generated sitemaps, you should sign up for an account with Google Webmaster Tools (http://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/). This is where you can, among other things, submit your site to Google, letting them know your Sitemap address. Once your site (and sitemap) is submitted, you'll be on your way to better search engine rankings. Be sure to check out the other tools on the left side of the dashboard. Be sure to check out Google's other webmaster tools.</itunes:summary>

 <itunes:summary>(http://webstudiotv.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2009/08/TV_PlayButton_v01_200.png)The Preview group will let you preview either in Web Studio's internal browser (which is Internet Explorer), or use the default browser you've set on your computer. Web Studio uses whatever version of IE that you have installed. If you've installed IE 6, Web Studio will render pages using the IE 6 engine. We recommend using the latest version of IE, combined with the latest version of Firefox and/or Chrome. Set Firefox/Chrome to your default browser, which will let you preview in either browser with a single click.

You can also preview links. This will build your entire website and preview, and your internal links will be valid. Previewing the page will not build the rest of your pages, which temporarily causes your internal site links to be broken, resulting in a 404:File Not Found error. Eventually though, when your entire site is built, these links will work perfectly.</itunes:summary>

Also discussed are Protected Photos, or Protected Graphics, which are not subjected to Web Studio's internal conversion processes. If you are a photographer or designer who has spent a lot of time creating the graphics/photos you're using for your site, you might want to import them as protected graphics/photos. Web Studio will use a "hands-off" approach when dealing with protected graphics/photos. One of the implications of this is that for protected graphics, you'll be unable to use the photo manipulation features within Web Studio. If you want to use these features on a certain graphic, import it as a normal graphic.</itunes:summary>

Gone are the headaches associated with keeping your links current as your site evolves and changes over time.

Before creating your first menu, it is sometimes helpful to create the pages that will populate the links in the menu. But of course, Web Studio is still capable of adding new pages to existing menus, in the event that you haven't completely fleshed out your site before creating menus.</itunes:summary>
