Lake Pointe Dental is an Austin-based dental office that was recently purchased by Dr. Holly Murphy. With the practice came an outdated web site created with a hosting company’s do-it-yourself web site builder—so it was time for a facelift! I took the logo Dr. Murphy had recently commissioned from a branding designer, and built a fresh, new, open design. The web site gives an impression of a friendly, comfortable, clean place to visit – and isn’t that how you’d like to feel about your dentist’s office?

Brother-Sister team Robin and Richard Hartman have been the proud owners of The Plant People in Ft Worth, Texas for ever 20 years, and provide high-end landscaping and maintenance services in 2 counties. They were looking for a new web site that portrayed them as the friendly, local business that they are, but also made it clear that this was not your run-of-the-mill leaf blowing service. I helped them with their copy, and created an earthy design with personality and lots and lots of photos showing their beautiful artistry at work!

Susan Lynn Meyer is an English professor at Wellesley College outside Boston. She is also the author of an award-winning novel inspired by her father’s experiences as a Jewish child living in France during World War II, a children’s picture book, and a novel about a seven-year-old African-American girl living in the rural south in 1950 (to be released in 2014). She needed a new web site to promote her writing and provide information about presenting at schools. I put together a bright and friendly design that would be appealing to adults, but not too serious for the kids. The site is built in WordPress so that this author can add and edit as the urge strikes.

DuraSeal is an Austin-based company that sells assorted materials for wastewater restoration projects. They had a web site, but were looking for something more polished and professional, and wanted the ability to update the site themselves over time. I took their existing logo and created a new design, then built it out in WordPress. Multiple navigation menus make it easier for their customers to find the information they need in just one click!

Annette Simon is a Florida-based children’s book author who creates fun and vibrant illustrations using colorful shapes, all wrapped around the most charming of stories. The plan was for her to create some illustrations that I could use in the design, but once she got started she ended up just creating the whole design! I am nothing if not flexible, so I took her design and created a flexible WordPress theme, allowing her to add new information and books in the future.

Jordana Raiskin is an Austin, Texas based therapist who uses a wide range of approaches to help her clients reach their goals. She had been getting by with a Google site, but it was pretty unfinished. I created a new, vibrant design (using colors from her existing business cards) and added a Skype feature so that she can help her patients remotely.

I love doing sites for authors, and I was especially excited to do one for Sarah Prineas, as she is the author of a series of books that my sons loved - The Magic Thief! This made me a bit of a celebrity with my kids. Sarah has a new book coming out in January, and decided that her existing web site was falling a little flat. Plus, she really needed to be able to make quick updates herself. I created a new design for her (with help from the beautiful dragon illustration by Kari Christensen) and built it in WordPress. I imported her blog posts from her existing WordPress.com blog so that everything would be in one place and super easy to manage. The organization means that her site can continue to grow with her body of work!

Stephanie Kelley is an Austin-Texas based pilates instructor, personal trainer, and fitness expert. She had a blog on Blogger, but needed something more professional to take her business to the next level. Check out her extensive Recipe section, all sortable by type of dish, including the perfect happy hour cocktails. I also prettied up her Twitter page to make everything more cohesive.

Cheryl Serdar sells vintage and one-of-a kind items in her online store. She also provides stylist and personal shopping services. She had a web site that was messy and hard to navigate, with a store that never really got 100% functional. I took her existing logo and started from scratch, creating a clean and open design and adding a BigCommerce store that is much easier to use than what she was accustomed to.

WOW! Jenny is incredible. She has the perfect mix of creativeness and technical knowledge while being extremely professional and timely! This was my second attempt on getting a website designed. My first site took over a year to design and made functional. After a year, it still was not “finished” and nothing like I envisioned. In less than 2 weeks I had a beautiful, well-designed site with Jenny. I sometimes have a difficult time conveying what I want when it comes to a vision for my business and website. Somehow, it was almost like Jenny read my mind and created the perfect website, better than I ever even envisioned! Jenny has the expertise to get you the ideal website. Sally Weiner is a painter & photographer who lives in Chicago, Illinois. She takes these amazing photos of crystalline rocks through a microscope! She also paints portraits from photos, creating beautiful art depicting kids, a favorite pet, or a loved one you remember fondly. The key word for this site was clean clean clean, to put all of the focus on her art and photography. We also added ecommerce to allow people to buy prints of her photography.
