Go to (see image below) Tools > Options (which is Preferences on Mac) > Under The Hood Tab and uncheck the checkbox next to “Use DNS pre-fetching to improve page load performance.” This will help Google Chrome load some of the websites that usually aren’t loaded and will also increase the website load time by very few microseconds (which you won’t notice).

The usual that bots use to search for email addresses is by searching for the ‘@’ symbol. These softwares are nothing but simple piece of code which is also available for free on the Internet or if you have some programming knowledge then you can go ahead and code your own script. It ain’t tricky! Here I will list some tricks that will help you hide email address from email spammers though they will be easily accessible to your friends and readers.

Simply Replace The Vulnerable Symbols

As I said above, email spammers create bots that look for @ symbol to harvest email addresses. Once you remove this symbol then you have almost foiled their major technique. All you need to do is replace @ with ‘AT’ and something similar. Like test@test.com can be written as:

• test_AT_test_DOT_com
• test (at) test.com

It just depends on your imagination.

Email Obfuscators

As the tag says, email obfuscators create a weird looking email address out of our pretty looking email thus totally confusing the email spammers. They actually convert each character of your email into ASCII characters henceforth making it something which no way looks like an email address. Manually Change @ And MAILTO Characters To Their Corresponding ASCII Characters

and @ can be replaced with @

Use CSS To Reverse The Direction Of Your Email

Just check the simple CSS code mentioned below:

When you use this code then your email address will be displayed properly on the screen but behind the screens it will actually be written in reverse order. This is enough to fool email spammers and their crazy bots.

Go ahead and create a .swf file which will also have an mailto: behavior embedded in it. The action in the button that will be required to extract the email will be:

Remember that if the computer being used on the other side has no Macromedia flash installed in it then the email address will not be displayed.

Ask.com’s ‘Top Questions for 2009

On a different note, Ask.com has released the top questions that were searched in their search engine during the year 2009. Some of these are similar to the usual popular search keywords that are regularly searched by Internet users while some are quite crazy too! Though ‘Michael Jackson’ seems to be the most popular search keyword for most of the search engines, here in case of Ask.com the legend could not be a part of toppers list. Just to console the soul of the ultra famous Jackson Ask.com has listed the question “Who is the father of Michael Jackson’s children?” as part of the top 10 list.

Other usual questions that made to toppers list were “How much should I weigh?”, “How do I get pregnant?” and “How do I get out of debt fast?”. Other then these some of the weird search questions were “What is Miley Cyrus’s phone number?” and “What is twitter?”. Quite tricky questions, eh?

Ask has also compiled list of top 10 questions for various categories like beauty, traveling, personal finance and pets etc. I couldn’t resist listing some of the questions that have made to the top of various sections. The year started with people madly searching for “What is Twitter?” but later on the topic changed to discussions related with Twitter. Seems like search results helped the planet quick enough so that they can move to better queries!
