I recently confessed to someone that, when I was a little kid, I was convinced that all things had souls and feelings, even inanimate objects. So I would get a little upset when we would kick the soccer ball in gym or when I would reject one toy to play with another. This might have had something to do with my abrupt decision to become a vegetarian when I was 16. Eventually, tastiness won out and I started eating meat again a few years later. But if these figures had been around, things might have gone differently.
The vinyl toys, which are based on artist Andrew Bell's "Never Look Back" prints, come in red or blue and include de-limbed octopi (at least I think that's what they are), the limbs turned into delicious foodstuffs, and an alternate pair of eyes for when the inevitable occurs. Macabre fun for all!

We all have weaknesses, right? And one of my weaknesses, among many, many others, is bed linens. I don't know what it is about comforters and quilts, but golly, I can't get enough of 'em. Also, apparently, I have a weakness for robots, because this is the second time in about a week that I've written about coveting robots. Who knew?

Anyway, something about this bedding collection, in all of its almost-beeping, robotty splendor, just sends me right over the edge. And, by robot bed linen standards, it's cheap; I know this because, yes, I did recently Google robot bed linen prices. And what of it? Would you rather that my weakness be, I don't know, barbiturates? Isn't bedding, as addictions go, relatively harmless?

From a design perspective, there's plenty to be said for the classic paper plate. It's simple and clean and the rippled border gives it a nice tactile sensation and helps you to grip that precious burger. From an environmental perspective, they're not so great. Plus, if you're needing a few extra doses of potato salad, you might end up wearing your picnic on your lap.

Cool Summer Necklace We Covet

Doesn't this necklace just scream cool? I feel like it would just lay all chilly-like around your neck as you lounge lazily on the deck of your yacht (or sit seething in hot traffic, that isn't the point!).
