Tom & Katie’s Rustic Country Wedding

Here is what Tom & Katie had to say about having me photograph their beautiful rustic country wedding at Yandina Station in Queensland.

We decided to hire Jeremy to document our wedding because we absolutely loved his raw, honest style that captures emotions as they happen and tells a story. When we met Jeremy over Skype we were even more convinced that this was the photographer for us. We loved that he was similar in age to us, liked similar things and was so easy to get along with. It was so wonderful to meet Jeremy in person and have him meet our friends and family over dinner. He is very personable and fitted in so easily whilst being completely professional.

Jeremy works unobtrusively and respectfully, capturing moments in time that other people would have missed. We love how our wedding album tells the story of our wedding day and brings back so many emotions and memories. He is an incredible artist. Everyone who sees Jeremy’s photos absolutely adores them and loves how different they are to standard wedding photos. We feel like even if people weren’t at the ceremony or reception we can tell them exactly how the day happened, how people felt and what the atmosphere was like by showing them Jeremy’s photos. Jeremy had the photos ready for us so quickly, he pay attention to detail at every step of the journey and his prints are just gorgeous. We are so happy to now know Jeremy as our wedding photographer and our friend.

“We’ve heard many people say they want candid shots but few are brave enough to go the whole way and end up trying to get both… just in case. We got the family photos for our Mums, but were very happy to just let you do your stuff. The result speaks for itself. Something we’ll treasure forever.

Thank you for being so sensitive to the whole weekend. It really did just feel completely natural for you to be there and we cannot count the amount of people that thought you’ve been one of our friends for a long time. And then let’s get to the work. Wow.

Talk about a wedding with a smile – I don’t think I could have counted all the smiles from everyone all day! (That could be because I can only count shutter speeds and apertures these days…) but the ever so lovely Em & Max got married at this cute little church (St Thomas of Aquinas) and had their reception in the city at The Alto. The team at Style Co went to town making some funky stuff (including those giant foam letters, wowzers) and the whole day went beautifully. Jam packed with all the good juicy bits; great people, great light, great location and most importantly such beautiful affection (the 4th last shot in this post should help explain it). Thanks for being so awesome guys!

“We both agree that our best decision for the wedding was choosing Jeremy to be our photographer. We struggled to find someone with such a short engagement but we are now so glad because it forced us to look outside Sydney. I was so excited to see Jeremy’s photojournalist style and could barely bring myself to read his reply to my enquiry as I was so nervous he’d say he was already booked! I was so relieved when he said he was available to be our photographer!

Not only was he very professional and clearly very talented at capturing the stories of the day, but he is incredibly friendly and lovely, and was such a joy to have with us through the course of such a special day. I think it’s really important to like the person as well as their work, because they spend so much intimate time with you on this important day. We loved having Jeremy there and looking back he really became a special part of the day too. I’ve been sitting here in front of the computer for the last hour trying to decide what to write. What can I possibly say to describe Scott & Libby’s indescribable wedding? Words like awesome, amazing, beautiful, emotional, touching, inspiring & perfection are some of the first words that come to mind, but it was really so much more than that. I can still vividly remember kneeling down in the aisle while Scott’s mum lead the entire room in an exceptionally powerful rendition of Amazing Grace. Goosebumps washed over my entire body and I started to choke up… It’s at this point that I realised there is something incredible happening, the energy in the room, the love, the emotion it was something else. We were all truly experiencing what it is to be human, what it is to be alive and what it is to feel love on such a deep level. I closed my eyes for just a moment to enjoy this feeling and to be so grateful to be able to experience such a personal, intimate and beautiful thing in life. I really am so lucky to be able to do this! Scott & Libby you guys rock! I truly hope from looking through your photos you can relive your day. The great stories like Scott’s cologne dance, the tears of happiness & anticipation getting ready, the emotion walking down the stairs, that kiss! (wowzers PG 13+) the fun games and more. If one day in your lives can bring this much laughter, smiles, tears and happiness I can’t even begin to imagine what the rest of your lives will bring!
