I’m having a destination wedding (in the US) so no need for a passport, when should I send the wedding invitations? Also, RSVP date is six weeks prior to wedding day.

Etta Says…

For invitations, I recommend sending them no less than eight weeks (preferably 3 months) before your wedding. This gives guests plenty of time to clear their calendars for the event and make all the necessary travel arrangements.

Timely invitations also allow you to make the RSVP date earlier—about 3-4 weeks before the wedding. I don’t recommend setting the RSVP date any later than 2 weeks prior, just to allow you and your future hubby plenty of time to put together your seating chart, catering totals, etc—and most importantly, to avoid any unnecessary stress!

2012 Trends: Romantic Neutrals

We started with our base, placing craft moss and a nest atop a cute dish. Then we filled it in with different sized color-coordinated birds and some eggs. Next, we glued one of the smaller birds to the top of the menu and finished off the project by gluing the menu into the nest base. It’s amazing what a couple of faux birds, some moss and a bit of glue can do!

DIY Menu Display

When I first started to “plan” my wedding a couple months ago, I knew that I wanted a “girly and vintage garden party” themed wedding. Pink was a must.

Simple enough, right? Pink. Not so much…

Now that I have been in touch with different florists, they have been asking me questions like, “what type of flowers do you want?” Or, “specifically, what shades of pink do you want in your bouquets?” “Do you want pink flowers mixed with other colors as well?” Good question! I have been scratching my head for the past couple weeks because I don’t know what shades of pink or what types of arrangements I want to do on the tables. Here are a couple of my inspirations:

Do I go with this pretty pastel palette of garden roses mixed with peonies and yellow roses…

There is always the choice of gorgeous all-pink displays with multiple bouquets as well:

Or a fabulously girly, yet sophisticated bouquet of white, light pink, dark pink and green…

And swooning over these perfectly pink peonies all in a row…

And then there is this image of pink, purple and yellow, which is exquisite too! Not to mention the touch of lace…

I am learning towards the simplicity of the darker pink flowers in the second photo, but I’m not sure! Stay tuned to see what I choose—your guess is as good as mine!
