As we already know, wedding cakes are being served to guests during the wedding reception. It is also quite a fact that wedding cake is not a normal or what-you-see-daily cake. It is made of large cake or loaf covered with ornamental icings all over it together with fondant. In short, wedding cakes are special, extraordinary and extravagant. Aside from having an extravagant presentation, the dense of the cake and the proportions of it is being handled alone by the baker’s expertise and excellence in his culinary background. But above all of these, did you know that each and every slice, cut and portion being eaten of world famous wedding cakes do have a lot of meanings?

Some pastry chef use sweet cupcakes and arranged it similar to croquembouche. They simply calls it "sweet cupcake wedding cakes". Definitely an eye-candy in the reception I bet.

Kids Being Kids Wedding Photography Contest Winners (PHOTOS)

Prince William and Kate Middleton will be getting married April 29, 2011 at the historic English church Westminster Abbey. Start time will be 11:00 a.m., and the Archbishop of Canterbury, Dr. Rowan Williams, is slated to marry the royal couple.

Mrs Tessa Green
Tessa Green is former Chairman of The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust. Prince William became President of The Royal Marsden in May 2007 having undertaken two days of work experience there in 2005. Sgt Keith Best is a colleague of Prince William’s at RAF Valley, in Anglesey, North Wales. The Winchman was awarded the Queen’s Commendation for Bravery in the Air after playing a major role in the rescue efforts in the Cumbrian floods in 2009.

Squadron Leader Paul Bolton
Sqn Ldr Paul Bolton is a colleague of Prince William’s at RAF Valley in Anglesey, North Wales.

Wing Commander Kevin Marsh
Wing Commander Kevin Marsh met Prince William through his service in the RAF. He will be one of the Path Liners outside Westminster Abbey on the wedding day.

Lance-Corporal Martyn Compton
Martyn is a Lance-Corporal in the Household Cavalry. He was injured in an ambush in Afghanistan in 2006, which put him in a coma for three months and left him with 75 per cent burns.

Miss Holly Dyer
Holly is sister to 2nd Lieutenant Joanna Dyer, who was killed by a bomb in Iraq in 2007. Joanna was a close friend of Prince William’s at Sandhurst. In a statement released by Clarence House at the time, Prince William said he was “deeply saddened to hear the tragic news and he is very much thinking of her family and friends right now and they will remain in his thoughts and prayers”.

Mrs Susie Roberts
Susie Roberts is the widow of Major Alexis Roberts, who was killed in Afghanistan in 2007. Major Alexis Roberts was Prince William’s Platoon Commander at Sandhurst. In a statement released at the time, Prince William said he was deeply saddened to learn of Major Robert’s Death. The Prince remembers him with “great fondness and respect”.

Former soldier Bryn Parry and his wife Emma founded the charity Help for Heroes to assist wounded service men and women. Cast a spell on your guests with a torn and tattered invitation. Printed on a vellum overlay with a ripped edge, the invitation is aged with black ink.

Haunting Feast
Send the signal that this is no ordinary buffet with an eerie table covering conjured from yards of gauzy cheesecloth. Illuminate the room in gothic style with blood-dripping candles, and add ambiance with a do-it-yourself foam candelabra.

Double Wedding

Wedding Dove From Jason Darr

In September of 1999, my grandmother passed away. She desperately wanted to attend the wedding of one of my cousins, but died three months prior. In a picture my mother had taken of the bride, groom, and my grandfather (who is also a minister) with a digital camera, there is what seems to be a dove over my grandfather. My first thought was it was merely a reflection of something. I zoomed in, but couldn't find a light source.

This photo was taken at my best friend's wedding. It was after midnight and all pictures were taken with natural light. There are no near windows, or any thing for a flash to reflect, because there was no flash. When she sent it to me, I was taken aback and almost didn't want to touch the photo. I called her right away and asked her about it, she laughed and said it was a ghost. I asked her if it was in the developing and she told me that it was on the negative. When held up to the light, you can see that the images lightly cover the entire photo.

What gets me, is that it isn't the end of the roll, and all of the other pictures are normal. The face that's over my head has been fading since I got it. Is that strange? It looks like there's a "D" surrounded by blue and an "I" surrounded by red, and the face looks like an "E"... Out of the head of my boyfriend (at the time), if turned counterclockwise, is a pink heart; on the back of the photo the numbers 187(a police code for murder/death) were written by the photographer, right in the middle of the heart. One of the lines is going through both my boyfriend and my hearts. Obviously we had a difficult time staying together. Out of my friend's new husband looks like a wing, or maybe a bench. Yet, when turned upside down, my friend looks like she's flying downward.

It was an interesting coincidence that my daughter chose September 30th 2000 for her wedding day as it was also my aunt's wedding anniversary who passed away this past December 1999. (We didn't know of the nuptial coincidence until one of the wedding gifts was opened that included a note from my mother that explained the history.) This photo was taken by myself only a few seconds after another photographer took a photo of the same setting. I remember not even really wanting to take it, I just mindlessly snapped the photo and went on with the events of the day. Needless to say, there was nothing between myself and my youngest daughter in the center of the photo.

The Headless Bride from Jay

This picture was taken in an empty house as a "before" picture - before we started remodeling. It was taken with a Polaroid, and I am sure the film was bad, but it is a very interesting picture. We call her Sally, after the lady that died recently. We purchased the house from her family.

Uninvited Wedding Guest from Connie Challender

We wanted a country-style wedding, so we chose an out-of-the-way town called Elby in Washington State, not really that far from our home in Puyallup. Elby has this cute little church built back in 1906 for the loggers in that era. The church was a historical monument and only held services once a month, so my fiancé and I decided to go to one of the services for permission to use the church for our wedding, for a fee of course. The church was small, so a lot of our guests had to stand outside for the ceremony. They didn't mind because that day on August 5, 1995 was extremely nice for Washington; only days earlier it had been pouring rain. While I was getting ready in the guest house next door, my fiancé and his best man greeted our guests and saw that they were seated or standing what ever the case was. After all the guests arrived, one of my friends, who was in charge of taking pictures, took a snapshot of what looked like a figure forming in front of our Pastor and to the left of my fiancé. We had no idea this photo had been taken until all the pictures were developed after the wedding. There were several shots taken by the same friend with the same camera but no other apparitions showed up in those pictures. My husband thinks this might have been his grandmother's ghost because she died while he was on ship in the Navy. I told him I think it's one of the brides from that era back in 1906. What do you think?

Wedding Reception Ghost from Martin Green

I was the best man at my friend's wedding in Sept. 2002. I was giving a speech to all who attended the wedding reception. I am the one standing up with a pint of beer giving my speech. To the legft of me is Mel, the groom whose wedding we attended. Mel is speaking with his new wife and a friend. The funny thing is, Mel said to me only weeks before his wedding that strange things kept happening at his council flat (ground floor). I dismissed these as run-of-the-mill chit-chat. However, on the discovery of the photographs of the wedding, there really is a ghostly figure standing through the kitchen window. It almost makes me chilled to the bone as I am the nearest thing to the window, and I was talking and moving around all the time speaking the reception of people in the garden. What's more, the black eyes and a fairly good height of this person gives me the creeps. I have never released this picture before I have had it for the past three years. I have had it checked by a photographic friend of mine who has confirmed it is not a double exposure.

Mum's Spirit at Wedding from Marc Savage

My mother died about a month before my niece, her granddaughter, was married. She had desperately wanted to go to the wedding. After the service, we were standing outside the chapel and I remarked to my two aunts (mum's sisters) that I could feel her there. The group of people that you can see [in the background by the trees] are myself, my aunts and my cousins. The area that is enhanced (lower left) is just above our heads. Minutes before that, I'd sent my young cousin off to take a photo of the wedding car. My father was just walking down the hill to look at the car also. The venue of the wedding was at an historical homestead and one of my mother's favourite places. She had often remarked that she'd be happy to be buried there. It was a friend of mine who saw the photos a couple of months later, that noticed something unusual. We decided to have the image professionally enhanced and were all amazed to see my mother's face appear. The hair and bone structure are unmistakable. My niece was very freaked out and refuses to look at the photo, but the rest of us grew up in a culture that embraces such occurrences, and we love that mum made it to the wedding.

My sister thinks she can see two other faces. They are reflected in the rear window of the car. One is a woman with curly hair wearing a bonnet or shawl, and the other is just above her - a man with a beard, who looks like he's wearing a monk's hood. Can you see them?

Demon Appears in Wedding Picture

Fox news broadcast shows a demon over the shoulder of the groom in a wedding picture. The Martinez family says this is a real demon that was with Mr. Martinez when he was doing drugs. There is evil out there!

What Is Photojournalism?

Photojournalism is the process of documenting events with a camera without controlling or affecting the situation. Henri Cartier Bresson, considered as the father of photojournalism coined the phrase "the decisive moment" and this essentially means capturing the peak moment within a situation. Thus, giving way to wedding photojournalism, or generally, photojournalism.

History of Photojournalism

Henri Cartier Bresson in the 1930's began documenting European society with a Leica camera. The cool thing about the Leica unlike many cameras at the time was its small size was and it's quietness.

Leica is world renowned and is used by many of the great photographers today. The results of this documentary photography; a beauty and integrity that is timeless and priceless to this day.

Wedding photojournalism takes the same skills and philosophy and applies it to today. This is in contrast to the traditional style of photography I was bought up on and trained under.

Rather than organizing people and fabricating situations the wedding photojournalist relies upon his skills to capture the moments that go unnoticed in an unobtrusive manner.

The ability to see events and stories unfolding and capture those events in a unobtrusive manner come together to form a series of images that reveal seemingly simple yet complex images.

Wedding Photojournalism Basic Information

Wedding Photojournalism has become a very popular style of wedding photography and is essentially a series of candid photographs covering the events of the entire day. Wedding photojournalism is said to appeal to the bride and groom that require a series of unique photographs designed to "tell a story" or narrate the wedding day.

There are drawbacks of wedding photojournalism as there is usually no pre-planned "shot list," only the wedding photojournalist’s (photographer's) response to events as they unfold. The resulting images are can be unpredictable. As wedding photojournalism largely entails shooting under ambient light, the result in some pictures can suffer in the hands of an inexperienced wedding photojournalist.

It is a fact that some couples often later regret not opting for more traditional, posed portraits in their wedding album. The couple’s parents sometimes first to complain about the lack of traditional wedding photography in an album.

It seems like that the long time boyfriend-girlfriend Marc Mezvinsky and Chelsea Clinton will be exchanging "I do's" soon!

Reports and news are now all around the web regarding the engaged couple.

As we already know, Chelsea Victoria Clinton is the daughter and only child of former US President Bill Clinton and U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

Marc Mezvinsky is the son of former Iowa congressman Edward Mezvinsky and former NBC reporter and congresswoman Marjorie Margolies Mezvinsky. Marc is an investment banker with Goldman Sachs. Mezvinsky is a Jewish.

Chelsea and Marc met through their parents in 1993 at Renaissance Weekend, an annual event for big-timers, in Hilton Head.

June Bride - June Weddings

June bride refers to the fact more people get married in June than any other month. Contrary to popular belief, this tradition did NOT come about because of the dependable weather. And actually, really not a good month to get married in some Asian countries, like here in the Philippines because it was a rainy season/month.

According to some books, some classical scholars believe the month of June is actually named after Juno, the Roman goddess of marriage. Fast-forward a few centuries and you'll find another good reason to book a banquet hall for June: according to one old wives' tale, "Marry in the month of May, and you'll surely rue the day. Marry when June roses grow, over land and sea you'll go."

So maybe, that’s why the month of June becomes the month of marriage.

Bridesmaid And Bride Same Dresses

The reason bridesmaids all dress the same is, in ancient Rome, several of the 10 witnesses required to make a wedding legal, would dress identically to the bride and groom to confuse any evil spirits that might crash the ceremony or what they call the evil wedding crashers. I know its kind of odd, but yes, its according to the history book.

Pope Innocent III started the wedding ring tradition. It was being believed that, in the 13th century, Innocent instituted a waiting period between engagement and marriage, and insisted a ring be used in the wedding ceremony. Before that, rings were only used to seal an engagement (as well as other important agreements).
You May Kiss The Bride
A kiss is considered a way of legally binding and was used to seal a contract in the ancient Rome. And later on, a bride marrying in the Church of England had to kiss the minister doing the wedding ceremony before she could kiss her groom. Can you imagine that?

Wedding Throws

During weddings, there are so many things thrown through the air or to the newly weds including rice (for fertility), bouquets (for luck and protection) and, last but not least, garters (also for luck).
In the past, before the wedding dresses cost as much as small cars, people used to rip chunks of the bride's dress off for good luck.

A slightly related custom used to occur in long-ago England. The groom's friends would take off their socks and throw them; the first to hit the groom's nose would be the next to marry. Funny but yeah, it’s true.

Bride And Groom Wedding Ceremony Location

Normally, the bride stands on the left and the groom on the right on a Christian ceremony. So you want to know where and why did this custom originate?
Weddings used to be a lot more like the ones you watch on the movies or tele seryes - with ex-suitors and other thugs often rushing the altar to object on the wedding.

So to defend the bride and avoid the interference, the groom needed to keep his right hand free so he could grab his sword, thus the bride stood clear and to the left. This is from an ancient custom that is still being practiced today, but no more swords of course.
