I didn't know Terri well enough to be considered a friend, but I really admired him...great pilot, big heart and he was huge advocate for Alaska aviation. He'll be missed. He and his wife also had a Grumman Albatross (HU-16), a much larger version of the Goose...same plane I flew crew on when I was on Midway Island. And yeah, Grummans have always been heavy (going back to WW2)...that had a lot to do with their Navy contracts (their fighters had to be stout and heavy to handle carrier landings). Pretty amazing what the twin turbos do to performance on the Goose...whole different aircraft.

Great comment and I’ll respond more in an email. What a nice post for your friend. I did not know that you had known him and that sure does bring it close to home. Yeah, this has been a tough year for the aviation industry here. (Just had a Homer Air 206 flip on the glacier here, no injuries) We have had similar years on the water, and it is always sad when it hits home. These are great shots and I would love to see the video sometime. I have ridden in several different Widgeons and Gooses, and most were just workhorses. I remember that Steve Harvey in Kodiak always took exceptional care of his and still does. They are a cool plane, but I always had a feeling of being too heavy when riding in them. Amazing cargo space....easy to overload. All for now....have a great weekend. Love, Pete

Hey Jack:<br

Sounds like something I would do with a boat. I have been in the drink 3 times that I can remember and ruined 4 cell phones(one was fish gurry)......good times.
