The weather was really crappy, and I expected to see no one, but the whole area was packed with fisherman. It rained half the time, turning to snow at 5PM on Saturday. Sunday morning, we awoke to 4 inches of snow.

We caught 3 trout...most other fishermen were catching dozens. I caught one on a wooly buggar and another on a tungsten nymph. One was a golden trout and the other a rainbow.

This was only the 2nd time I got to use my new Mountainsmith Auspex 4000 pack. It's really lightweight, but this time it hurt my back. I think it was because I had those heavy, wet waders and fishing boots hanging off the back. When I stood still, the weight seem to be distributed correctly, but when I walked, I was hunching forward.

It was also a good test for my Arc'teryx Gore-tex jacket. I had been suspecting for weeks that my jacket was leaking. I had washed it with Nikwax Techwash and refinished it with Gore Revivex. It still looked wet on the inside, but it could have been from perspiration.
