Toyota typically does not have great commercials in North America, and seem to gear them towards the typical Toyota crowd of asian accountants, j/k! A commercial we’re missing out on is the Ninja Kittens marketing the new Corolla in Australia

According to the agency, the campaign “tells the story of a kitten headed hero who battles a gang of feral baddies” in an abandoned shopping mall, then scoots away in his sporty Corolla. “The ambitious production was a combination of very well rehearsed fighting sequences, and real, cuddly kitten heads.” source

There’s an animated online comic for the campaign on their website. The cuddly kitten heads may give you nightmares though!

If you are growing tired of all the crap on the radio like me you’ll be relieved that Jazmine Sullivan is not just a pretty face. Jazmine started off her vocal career in gospel, impressing the congregation with a voice strong enough to reach the heavens. Getting her break at age 11 on Showtime at the Apollo performing Accept What God Allows.

Jazmine finally found a home at J Records and set out creating her debut album, Fearless. While most artists spend their debuts trying to convince you that the belong, Jazmine has chosen to confront expectations head on. If you take only one message from her album, it’s that you do not f**k with this girl unless you want her to Bust Your Windows. An ocherestral production that you could mistaken for a love song takes you through a story of a cheating man who gets his car windows busted up.

Fearless shakes off all flash and provides the substance that has been lacking in the music industry. Jazmine Sullivan reminds me of a young Lauryn Hill from her chart toppin’ Need U Bad to the mainstream sounds of After The Hurricane. Jazmine Sullivan is one to watch the next few years.

As part of a pilot project, the BMW Group will be unleashing 500 electric powered Minis to the California, New York and New Jersey area. With the official specifications released yesterday, the MINI E will be powered by a 150 kW (204 hp) electric motor fed by a high-performance rechargeable lithium-ion battery.

The large battery weighing around 573 lbs is placed in the back seat, eliminating the backseat making the Mini E a two person. The little E outputs 204 horsepower with a torque of 162 lb-ft. It runs from 0-60 mph in 8.5 seconds, reaching a top speed of 95 mph. That’s pretty peppy specs for a battery powered car.

Users can recharge a battery that has been completely drained within a very short period of time using a wallbox that will ship with every MINI E. The wallbox will be installed in the customer’s garage, enable higher amperage, and thus provide for extremely short charging times. Wallboxes fully recharge batteries after a mere two-and-a-half hours. A fully charged battery will produce a range of more than 240 kilometers, or 150 miles.

It doesn’t really matter how the Lions or the White Caps do, Vancouver is a one sport city. Even during the off-season, Vancouverites were overwhelmed with hockey news. Now after months of hockey depravity, after all the news of shifty acquisitions, saddened departures, indecisions, and retirements, the Canucks are back.

The team shed away its final pieces of the ‘West Coast Express’ with Markus Naslund and Brendan Morrison both signing with the Rangers and Ducks respectively. And with Linden’s retirement last season, the Canucks have lost two captains in a span of a few months. With Nazzy gone, so is the whipping boy who fans and the media blamed in the failures of the team. Now when the season opener on October 9th comes around the entire team will be even under more scrutiny, as everyone will not only be looking for a leader but also a scape goat.

Is this team good enough? Did rookie GM Mike Gillis do enough to ensure this team is competitive? Are fans in for another season of disappointments?

The 2008/09 team is BETTER then the previous year. You are reading correctly, this year’s Canucks are better. How so? I will show you.

We’ve replaced Naslund (55 points in 82 games) with Pavol Demitra (54 points in 68 games). Demitra is more injury prone but he is capable of putting up numbers that rival our once famed captain. We still have the sis…Sedins who were ranked 24th and 27th in the ENTIRE NHL last year in terms of points. Our top six defensemen, as a whole, can compete against Detroit’s defensive core. We picked up gritty players like Rob Davison and Darcy Hordichuk, so we’re no longer a ’soft’ team. We picked up Bernier, Krog, and Wellwood to help in scoring (keep in mind we didn’t have to trade anyone away). We still have around $10 million in cap space to pick up more players if the opportunity comes up. And less we forget that we have the best goalie in the entire league defending our goal.

How do we stack against our division? We stole Demitra from Minnesota’s top line and they didnt’ pick anyone up to replace him or Brian Rolston. Colorado’s only bright spot was that Sakic is back for one more year. Edmonton and Calgary are the only scary one’s. Edmonton is full of youngsters like Gagne and (former Giants) Brule, who are itching to prove themselves. Calgary is wildly inconsistent but when they’re on they can beat just about everyone.

But think about it for a minute. How many teams in the NHL can get 2 goals past our healthy defensive core AND a rejuvenated Luongo? Not many, all we have to do is score 3 goals per game…
