City Interactive announces Dogfight 1942

Recently, City Interactive announced their new arcade aerial combat game Dogfight 1942. Entering the digital space with content and quality traditionally expected of a console title, Dogfight 1942 will launch on Xbox LIVE, PlayStation Network and Steam later this year!

Previously announced as Combat Wings, Dogfight 1942 has been re-envisioned and recreated to feature more than 20 types of aircraft --from the fabled P-38 Lightning and Britain’s Spitfire to the feared Messerschmitt 109 and Japanese Kate -- players are challenged with the same missions as real WWII pilots, ranging from bombing runs and dog fights to manning defensive positions such as a gunner on a bomber or anti-aircraft site.

A demo of Dogfight 1942 will be released prior to launch.

Ubisoft Bringing Big Titles To E3 2012

Today, Ubisoft announced their plans for this years E3 2012 Expo. They will kick off the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) 2012 with an invitation-only press conference at the Los Angeles Theater at 3 p.m. PDT, June 4. The press conference will feature demonstrations and trailers of Ubisoft’s upcoming lineup of franchise hits, including games for the new Nintendo Wii U, as well as digital titles, special guests and surprise announcements.

Following the press conference, E3 attendees can visit Ubisoft’s booth -- #1023, located in the South Hall of the Los Angeles Convention Center -- to see and play the company’s latest titles. Games available at the booth will include Assassin’s Creed III, Far Cry 3, Rayman Legends, Rocksmith and many more. The finale of the ShootMania Marathon, an e-sport competition based on Ubisoft’s ShootMania: Storm also will be broadcast from the booth on at 11 a.m. PDT, June 6.

In a first, Ubisoft is inviting gamers to ask questions to its teams on Uplay, Ubisoft’s online service dedicated to enhancing the experience of players across games and platforms. The best questions will be selected by one of the guest hosts and asked live during the press conference. Ubisoft also is sending eight select Uplay members to E3, where they will interview teams backstage, preview fans’ favourite games and provide video reports from the show floor. Finally, the Assassin’s Creed III and Far Cry 3 teams released two Road To E3 videos showcasing their preparation for the event, and are inviting fans to post their questions on their respective Facebook pages.

Bethesda Announces Doom 3 BFG Edition

Today, Square Enix released the E3 trailer for their upcoming title, Hitman Absolution! The trailer titled "Attack of the Saints" starts in a run-down motel room where Agent 47 is using his time to treat his wounds.

Meanwhile, his former employer, the ICA, send a deadly specialized wetworks team after him: “The Saints.” The ICA wants 47 dead, but that’s easier said than done...

Moonraker Unveiled As One Of Six Bond Movie Missions In 007 Legends

Activision recently announced that, Moonraker – the 11th film in the Bond franchise – is the first of the six classic Bond film inspired missions revealed in the recently revealed 007 Legends video game!

Aspiring secret agents are transported to the well-known space port of billionaire industrialist, Hugo Drax. They must rely on stealth and determine if they’ll trust and align with questionable allies to infiltrate the orbiting evil lair and defeat one of the most iconic Bond henchmen – Jaws. The goal? Foil the enemy and destroy Drax’s plans to poison the world.

Resident Evil: Chronicles HD Collection Comes To The PlayStation Network

Capcom recently announced that the Resident Evil: Chronicles HD Collection will be available to purchase from the PlayStation Store on June 27th across Europe* for €26.99/ £21.99!

The collection features previous Resident Evil titles – Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles and Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles which have both been remastered for the PlayStation 3 with stunning HD graphics and PlayStation Move compatibility.

The titles will be available to purchase separately in the following weeks for €14.99 each from the PlayStation Store on July 18th across Europe.

Preview: Inversion Single And Multiplayer

Upside down, right side up, none of this matters when it comes to Namco Bandai’s Inversion and so I was lucky enough to be invited down to the UK office a second time to play what was potentially the final build. Unlike before, this time I was able to give the campaign a run and all the multiplayer modes where included but the question is… how does the game fair?

From what I played through, the single player campaign seems to be pretty solid, switching between straight up –intense shooting to more atmospheric stealth sequences. The basis of the story is that you take on the role of David Russel, a cop and father who finds his daughter missing while his city was being invaded. He teams up with his partner Leo Delgado in which they both look to save the world.

Wheee, I can fly now!

Through all this, it’s pretty much a generic shooter that makes use of interesting cinematics and gameplay moments to keep it fresh e.g. Moving from rock to rock due to gravity messing up the environment. The main factor here is fun and from the time I spent on the campaign, its more than fun to play but like with all stories, the end has to be on par or the whole experience could be ruined. I got really excited about the use of gravity throughout the game to solve small puzzles and defeat enemies making it, its strongest point.

The “fun” factor is carried on to the multiplayer making for some intense yet hilarious games. There are the standard Team Death Matches and Free for All but the one that probably gives the biggest adrenaline rush would have to be King of Gravity. In this game, players fight for the only Gravlink available on the map. Picking it up enables you to make full use of its gravity function however every other player will be trying to kill you in order for them to use it themselves. You can gain points by killing the player with the Gravlink but also killing others if you have it on you. What’s great about the multiplayer is that it takes standard games but adds twists to them to make them more interesting or unique. The use of gravity in matches to either completely flip maps or climb areas that are normally inaccessible adds a sense of challenge and flair to what is already a game that utilizes a lot that is seen in current shooters.

Immersive Multiplayer games.

Another big aspect of the multiplayer is its Co-op in which the game was basically designed around. You and a friend can complete the entire story mode together this way instead of relying on AI to control Leo Delgado.

Inversion looks to be a solid game but like all previews, we still need to see the full product before making full judgement. The main campaign is almost a thrill ride as you try to take on hordes of enemies while mastering gravity and then jumping onto multiplayer brings hours of replay value. Inversion is scheduled to be released on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC July 2012.

DmC: Devil May Cry Release Date Announced

Recently, Capcom, announced the release date for DmC: Devil May Cry. Developed by Ninja Theory in close collaboration with Capcom, DmC: Devil May Cry will release for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on January 15 2013 in North America and Europe!

In addition, Capcom also confirmed that PC gamers will also be able to experience the title with the news that development of a Windows PC version is well underway with a release scheduled for later in 2013.
