Open Letter: Looking for a Philanthropist

First, a disclaimer.

I am extremely grateful for my current incarnation. While I could do without the genetically modified, ignorant subscribers of modern detriment, I am still awed with existence. The fact that I am a body sitting in a chair with individual thoughts and am able to convey them to other forms of consciousness all around the world still baffles me.

I find fault with the current insurrection taking place against the timeless universal law. As a society, we have fallen from the grace and harmony bestowed upon us. We are selfish, arrogant, and ignorant. If a sociopath is an individual who ignores societal law, what do you call a society that ignores universal law? Whether it is because of the legislation, or because of the constituents, the outcome remains the same. Change is necessity or extinction is imminent.

After countless red-eyed hours of internet digging, I unearthed the solution to our current debacle. It is extremely simple, yet unrelentingly arduous. We must go back to the land. We must tighten our circles. I am not advocating an exclusionary existence, but a path of open awareness. Seeing where your food is grown and witnessing the inter-workings responsible for your existence produces a grounding effect on the individual. The web is much more apparent when it is literally wrapped around you and can be experienced with all of the senses on a daily basis.

Sadly, I have lost faith in the political process. I am through trying to convince people of the scathing effects of disharmony. It is time to take matters into my own two hands. Literally. I need to live off of the land in order to reconnect to the higher power. You can fill in any synonym you like, the meaning will remain unchanged.

I have discovered methods of building shelter and sustaining existence that are intuitive, relatively inexpensive, and can be done by a novice with the proper intentions. If you've never heard of cordwood masonry, Earthships, or the concepts of passive solar and thermal mass, I highly suggest you check out MotherEarthNews.com. While I am in no way affiliated with the website, they provide an extensive library of articles on the aforementioned topics and much more.

But alas I am broke. While I am saving as much as I can, the prospect of land purchased outright seems to be decades away. A realization as cold as any I have ever encountered. Ten more years of slaving away in serfdom. Doing jobs that conflict with who I am so I can afford to eat. It seems outrageous that one needs to become "rich" in order to have enough money to become sustainably poor.

Not only am I pursuing the land as a sense of physical freedom, I am pursuing a spiritual discipline as well. Which leads to a complication of ethics. In order to purchase land and live sustainable; I need two things, money and know-how. I feel I have the base know-how to do so, yet I am lacking in funds department. Pursing a career based on solely money is not an option for me.

So if you're a philanthropist looking to invest in the future, I can promise no financial returns, only an honest attempt at harmony.

And if not, it'll take me longer and make me stronger, but I'll have that slice of simple one day.

If you are in the "know", you understand, if not fully, adequately that the world in which we live is undergoing a tremendous upheaval. Across the oceans wars continue to dominate the landscape. A new dictator rises into power, or an old one bows out. While here in the U.S. our elected officials continue to plague us with oppressive laws and continue to ignore our grievances. They attempt to brainwash us with a torrent of mind-numbing pop culture and institutional disinformation. While we in the United States are witnessing the full on force of subversive wars, our brothers and sisters worldwide feel the much more overt, violent side of our misconception's wrath.

Here in the U.S., things are escalating dramatically, and are seemingly transitioning to a much more blatant oppression. In the halls of Congress, the "Stop Internet Piracy Act" or SOPA, and the National Defense Authorization Act of 2012 threaten to cripple our remaining freedoms.

In SOPA, the government aims to censor the internet through the guise of stopping online piracy. An obvious attempt from the established entertainment industry to maintain their stranglehold. If you are unfamiliar with their ability to influence law, do some research on the penalties for bootlegging music or movies. If the jail sentence was the only determining factor, you'd be better off selling cocaine.

One of the many problems, but possibly most alarming, of the National Defense Authorization of 2012 is the fact that U.S. citizens, who are charged with the ambiguous title of "terrorist", can be held without trial for an indefinite period of time. Which as I'm sure you know, goes against multiple constitutional rights and essentially initiates martial law.

If you couple those with the stresses of living in the society that produces such blatant disregard for freedom, I can understand how you would be angry or depressed. But I am here to tell you, neither of those will work in the favor of a peaceful future.

I must admit, upon hearing of the aforementioned bills, I was initially outraged. How could those elected to sustain our institutional freedom go against their vows? I am not naive to the current state of politics, but these 2 bills seem arrogantly blatant.

And then epiphany's cold hand slapped me in the face. If, like the mystics say, 2012 is not the end of the world, but the end of an era, and a conscious awakening, then the mere fact of these bills being present not only threatens physical freedom, but is presently crippling mental freedom. While we worry about the egregious politics, and occupy wall street, we are forgetting the true value of this time in history.

The veil between contemplation and manifestation grows thinner each day. It is allowing us to truly become who we are destined to be. A part of the whole. A common individual. No amount of physical firepower will be able to dislodge the ideology of the over-society. They possess enough warheads to blow up 3 earths. While we occupy the streets, most are forgetting to occupy their spirit and minds. They allow the negative to control their actions. While their actions may be positive, they are still a response to the negative, an effect, not a cause. Which is ignoring the unique difference between positive and negative, or good and evil. Evil cannot create, it can only corrupt. As where good can only create, it cannot corrupt.

Regardless if your Christian, Buddhist, Muslim, Jewish, Atheist, Agnostic or somewhere in between, I suggest you open your heart and mind to the change that is abounding. The mystics of all the religions agree, we are all one. And even the scientists are starting to agree.

So regardless what happens, keep a level head and an open heart, as a world run off of love can fight no wars.

Ever wanting to expand my consciousness, I continually look for new avenues to reconnect with the fulfillment of experiencing something new. As you may or may not be able to guess, my music and art have yet to suffice as a baseline means of income; which allows me to be pursuant of other means of economic survival.

Recently I heard a quote that struck a particularly pertinent chord with me, "If you had all the money in the world, what would you do with your time?" I marinated for weeks on said quote. In all reality, I've been pondering that question for a significant percent of my adult life.

I've contemplated just leaving society all together and seeking a harmonious existence with nature in the most basic forms.. But I can't help but feel like that is running away from the issue. I realize how far removed we are currently from the harmony and intrinsic essence of an awakened humanity, and I believe a substantial part of that is what we surround ourselves with, decay.

So as it stands now, I want to share wilderness, and out innate connection to it with the masses of the world. I want people to realize we are not above nature. We are not perched on a ledge with nature trapped in a shadow-filled ravine below us. The monkey bars we dangle from are merely a figment of our imagination. We are nature, as nature is us.

greetings earthlings and extraterrestrials. i hope this blog finds you in high spirits and unshakable morale. you may or may not be aware, but i am currently in the process of writing and recording my latest musical endeavor, "Straw Pillars", intended to be a full length LP. It has been some time since i've undertaken such a project, and I forgot how liberating it is write something as intricate as an album.

i know i shouldn't do this, seeing how expectations are appreciation's poison, but you can expect this album to be.. how do you say it.. heady. gone are the days of my feeble attempts to convert those who fail to see the bigger picture, i now exist to connect with like minds. i plan on making the album i would love to hear put out. i find myself being overly critical of most modern releases, not just limited to the hip hop genre. most of them sound good, and some of them even have their hearts in the right place, but they most seem to be lacking the intangibles. those things you can't put your finger on. the wind that is somehow captured in a jar.

i have been furthering my studies of daoist traditions, philosophies and metaphysics, as well as brushing up on my ancient texts spanning all religions. i suppose i find myself smack dab in the middle of a search for unchanging truth, while simultaneously swimming in a river that is never the same. (shouts to hereclitus!)

obviously the way most of the world operates is quite simply, fucked. we love treatin' them symptoms and ignoring them causes... or in my opinion, cause... profit.. everything is done for profit first, service/product second. our entire society is a byproduct of profit. we are all living in on straw pillars.

i am not sure of an exact release date, as i am taking the time to craft this album right. i'm thinking early 2012 with maybe a video in late 2011.. but honestly, the date is anything but concrete. just thought i'd give you a heads up that regardless no updates to the blog, things are still moving forward.
