Where’s That Little Dutch Boy When You Need Him?

When I first launched Wellspring and started this blog, one of the first things I observed was the coming of Over The Top (OTT) competition for the more traditional television providers (i.e., cable companies, satellite providers, etc.). Now we find ourselves with some third quarter announcements from some of the biggest cable companies suggesting they have lost over half a million television subscribers in one quarter. Comcast alone announced the loss of 275,000 subscribers. Time Warner Cable saw 128,000 television subscribers flee. Are we seeing leaks in the dyke that suggest more flooding to come?
