[...] MediaStorm: Story, art, passion, purpose was posted on We Media by Andrew Machison on April 14, 2009. In this article, Brian Storm was honored as one of the 2009 Game Changers award finalist and was asked to write about his current projects and what was going on with MediaStorm. In the article Storm’s key aspects he writes about address his views of giving the subjects in photographs a voice, which is exactly what MediaStorm set out to do. He stated how it is considerably different and more effective for the real people in the photographs to speak about their own lives, rather than someone else standing in the foreground speaking for them. One example he gave was asking subjects questions and actually talking with them, photographers learn so much more about their subjects in a day than they ever did spending weeks just taking their photos.
Thanks Harvey. We'd love to see your idea - and you. Yes, it would be great if we could cover everyone's expenses. We can't - and also think it's reasonable to seek finalists who are willing to put some skin in the game. We don't charge anyone to submit or participate as a finalist - but yes, there is some expense involved.

I live in Jerusalem. I have a great idea, and would love to apply - I was surprised that you didn't reserve support monies to bring the winners to the WeMedia Conference - how else to make this Challenge really inclusive and global?? - some of the best ideas might be in India, Chile, or Norway....but how can people in these places afford to travel to the Conference???
