When I wake up, I grab my ear buds from my laptop and listen to music while drinking my morning coffee to get ready for work, blocking the world around me as I try to wake up. When I go to my car to get to work, I connect my phone with my car radio by Bluetooth and continue what I did at home. I hum to myself while I'm working because we can't have music on the work floor. When I come home from work, I often find my family in the garden listening to music on the speakers. Hell, I'm even listening to music while I'm writing this.

Music is something that can provoke many emotions in someone. Music that makes us happy, makes us sad, reminds us of someone or something special. Music can be part of your identity, like a national anthem. But most of all, what I find important, music can bring people together. It is almost impossible to not find someone that likes the music as you do. Even these days, with the amount of different genres and with most of the world's population having access to the internet, you can always find someone to talk to about your favorite artist, album or song.

Even today at work, I was helping someone with his problem and noticed his jean jacket with all kinds of band patches stitched on it. I decided to mention something about it and we started talking about music, from Led Zeppelin to Metallica and Stray Cats. Eventually we shared contacts and we both gained a new mutual with shared interests. If it wasn't for his love for music by showing it on his jacket, we may never have found out we shared the same taste in music. That is the power of music.

So, why am I writing this? Music is a passion growing by the day for me. What started as listening to some songs on my way to school, grew into collecting CDs, which further grew into going to concert, which further grew into collecting vinyl (while not even owning a turntable, which is long overdue by the way to finally invest in) and is now growing into playing music myself, purchasing a guitar at the beginning of 2019 and still struggling to learn chords and popular songs.

This blog is made mostly for myself. A place to write away about my favorite music, concerts I have attented, personal stories that are tied to certain songs. And if someone by chance stumbles upon this blog, that person is free to read about it as much as he or she likes. For those one or two people that find this, I am in no way a music critic and I barely know anything about the process of making music. This is just a place to dump my thoughts so I won't forget it in the future. If this blog is anything, it could potentially be a place for people to find someone that shares the same taste in music as they do

This site will be updated infrequently. Whenever I have the time, energy or urge to write about something, I will do so. For the one that stumbles upon my low-effort shitty site, welcome and maybe you will join me on the ride.

- WeMeS
