Somehow a week has flown by since the morning Jenn and I drove to the hospital for the birth of our son, Nicholas Derek Wenzel.  Of course we fell in love with him even before he was born, but now that he’s here we love him even more.

For his 1 week birthday, he smiled for the first time.  It was an accidental smile and he was sleeping at the time, but I’ll take it.

My wish for myself a week after the greatest day of my life, is that I am just as amazed by his smile in the years to come as I am today.

Thanks Nicholas! It’s been an action packed week and we can’t wait to see what the next week will bring.

Today was supposed to be our baby’s birth day. But as the hours tick by it looks less and less likely that today will be the day.

Due to the popular response we received from early previews of our hiking video, I decided to post it here as well.  Jennifer is over 8 months pregnant while hiking nearly 4 miles through Muir Woods.  Enjoy!

 

 

 

We started out just across from the Mountain Home Inn in Mill Valley and hiked into Muir Woods stopping to rest only at the halfway point.

The very next day she was back at it again, starting the day with a 90 minute prenatal yoga class. Not too shabby.
