Westside Family Church Olathe will be having a public launch with the start of the upcoming series called “Help! I’m Married.”

Here’s how you can help make this launch successful:

Pray for 3 people you’d like to invite.
Pick up and distribute the invites that will available this weekend at the Olathe Campus.
Pick up a yard sign or two and place in your yard/street corner.

Westside Joins Relief Efforts in Haiti

Westside is responding to the earthquake disaster in Haiti immediately. Our research confirms that what is most needed is prayer and financial support for existing ministries already on the ground in Haiti.

Our friends and close partners, The Global Orphan Project, headquartered here in Kansas City are currently on the ground leading relief efforts, and caring for orphans. This outstanding ministry has partnered with Westside and includes Westsiders in their leadership. The director, Mike Fox is now on the ground in Haiti leading the efforts there. Please be praying for the victims, and for our partners in this relief effort.

In this massive humanitarian crisis, we have a remarkable opportunity as a church to shine the light of Jesus Christ. Please consider giving a special donation to support these efforts in Haiti. 100% of your donation to The Global Orphan Project will go to orphan care and relief in Haiti.

New Year

It’s a New Year, and with it comes New Year’s Resolutions. With New Year’s Resolutions comes change and transformation.

At Westside, 2010 is all about “Transformation.”

New Campus

We are starting our New Year with a New Campus Location at Pioneer Trail Middle School at 127th & Black Bob in Olathe, KS. This Sunday will be our 1st Service in the new location. For directions, click here.

This past weekend we unveiled the new mission of Westside Family Church. We are excited about aligning all our initiatives around:

This week will not only be the first service in our new facility, but we start a new series called “Christian???”

Have you noticed being a Christian doesn’t mean what it used to mean? Christian has taken a whole different meaning. Everyone now claims to be a Christian, but are they truly following Christ?

You won’t want to miss the start of this series as we unpack what it means to be a Christ Follower.

Please plan to attend our OP Family Forum on Tuseday, December 8th at 6:30pm at the OP office (9154 135th St, OP). We will be voting on our 2010 budget and on new PAT (Pastoral Advisory Team), Finance Team members as well as sharing the direction we’re heading in 2010. No childcare is available.

With all the football, turkey, family, I count the OP Campus as one of the big items on my ‘Thank you God!!!’ list!!!

It is an honor to work shoulder to shoulder with you for our Heavenly Father. I tell people all the time what a great group of people you are.

Thanksgiving Offering at the OP Campus

The reponse to this opportunity has already started and it isn’t even time for the offering yet!!! Our thanksgiving gift at the OP campus will go toward making the new location a great experience for your friends and neighbors. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to make a huge impact for God’s kingdom in our neck of the woods!!! While we do have a particular list of things we’d like to purchase to make the new campus awesome, I don’t have an amount in mind for our campus. I would like for there to be 100% participation, because what we’ll be able to do will be directly tied to this offering and I want everyone to be a part of what God is doing here!!!

We’re going to go to grow!!!

Trading Turkeys ‘09

It’s amazing what happens when the OP Campus do things together. This year we provided 180 days of food for families in the Blue Valley area that weren’t going to be able to have a thanksgiving meal this holiday!!! We shopped for those families and donated the food, then sat down together to have a simple mini-thanksgiving meal of a turkey sandwich.
The kids colored the gift bags for those families and wrote encouraging notes for them as they try to hold on during this tough time. It was an amazing time!!!
Thanks to Darlene Terry and Donna Vinson who organized the event. You guys did an awesome job!!! Thanks to Paul Chang too for sporting the turkey suit!!!
