That's a good point, and we may grow the island to expand into the open area a bit. I can see now from my estimation that the stove range really is dominating that island, and people should have more space to eat. I have revised it and will update the blog post.
PS: "dining table" is probably too strong a word for our actual requirement. We really only need space for 1-2 people for the vast majority of time.
PPS: This small exercise made me realize I'm missing an oven. I need to decide if I really want one, though.

My family business grows and sells some of the hottest peppers in the world, but I have no idea how people eat some of them. Even more confusing is how people can enjoy eating them. I use them in cooking, but to eat them whole like they were popcorn is so far beyond anything I can understand.

I miss the old days too.
I used to make sure I did a blog post every day, sometimes twice. Now I pat myself on the back if I do one post per week.

I did more Facebooking because I suddenly found myself with a laptop and a world which offered free WiFi along with the enticing scent of french fries for hours on end.

Plus my worsening health issues have made humorous blogging more of a struggle than it used to be.
I still try.

I haven't gotten into the "social" aspect of Facebook very much; I don't hang around heated debates, I don't chat, and I'm terribly neglectful about visiting my friends' pages.
I keep to myself, minding my own business, posting the occasional update but rarely venturing elsewhere. I occasionally say hi or click "like", leaving people to wonder where the sudden french fry scent came from.

I know it's not the same thing as "real" blogging.
I miss the old days.
I remember enjoying the fact that you and I could joke around and enjoy each other's cybercompany even though our political ideals were complete opposites.

Welcome back, even if it was just for one post.

(If you do decide to return permanently, let me know and I'll be sure to come visit. I might even share my ketchup packets.)

When I checked my Feedly reader this morning, I had to do a double take, but with a smile.

Your post is spot on and I have to say I find it refreshing to see your thoughts and views of Facebook to match pretty much my thoughts and views. With the exception of profanity. I've been dropping the F-bomb years before Zuckerberg had a fleeting thought about The Facebook in his college years. But even with that, I rarely swear on FB. Most of my friends are Mormon and even though I don't belong to that religion anymore, I do respect those on FB by refraining from profane words. I save all of that for Twitter. LOL

I stopped posting anything political related on FB due the divisive nature (on both sides) and that many didn't see my posts as "think pieces" (which I know some of mine were not, but my intention was always to provoke thinking outside one's political bias) but as opportunities to attack, which usually led me to removing people from my news feed until gradually, it was much less divisive. I still post political pieces, but only to a FB group I've created to avoid starting a drama fest. It's one of the main reasons I loathe Facebook, regardless of how well I can tailor the settings and unfollows to make it better.

You and I have done our own sparring/debating/discussing of various political topics, but I like that we can always go back to The One True Yes Tote Bag or our admiration of the band Rush and sharing your "chance" meeting with them years ago. ;-)

So the big question here is: is this post the start to a return of the Whall Blog?
