New Blogger Inline Comment: Certainly Guarantee More Comments

This is no longer news and if you are not aware of this yet, then you better relocate from the cave you have been living "if you don't want to be a "PRIMITIVE" in this age; thing are happening around you.....lol. Hey! don't mind my silly ol' mouth or is it fingers I should say.

"Seriously now" If you have ever tried to make a comment on a blogger blog before now, you will know how annoying it can be. With the old and archaic blogger comments system, where you will be forced to redirect to another page which automatically open in a new window immediately you click the comment link to make a comment on a blog post. Worst still, the comments already post to a blog post doesn't show blow the post, you will still have to go through the annoying new page window redirection to view those comments.

For a time now this has been a major obstacle to comment posting on bloggger blogs which was a big concern and disadvantage to bloggers like us using the blogger platform as compared with wordpress user.

Entrecard: Revolutoinizing The Blogoshere

In my ealier post; "the beautiful world of entrecard" I introduced you to Entrecard with it's basics and benefits, which as you have discovered is one of a kind the world of blogging.

By the way, you must have notice that of recent most of my post have revolved around "TRAFFIC" and "SEO; the essense of which is still traffic". I read one review of this blog few weeks ago and I was amazed at how narrow minded the reviewer was. I'm pretty much aware of the type of contents (the make quick money schemes) some visitors to this blog would have been expecting, but then maybe what they failed to understand is that this blog is in the "internet marketing" niche and not "make quick money" and Internet Marketing without Traffic equal "No Marketing".

Sorry about the distraction "it's one of those things, you know" I hope I have not lost you! Remember we are still talking about Entrecard. Ok! Shall we move on please!

Expandable Post "Read More"

Expandable Post (popular as "read more") is a fantastic feature that greatly enhance your blog outlook while keeping your readers engaged right from your blog's front page.

Ok what is this all about? This is a situation where you display teasers of your blog posts on the front page of your blog with a "read more" link at the bottom of the post's teaser, then when readers want to read the rest of the post, they can click the "read more" link to see that full post.

Blog readers, usually on arriving at your blog, scan through the blog and note those of your post that caught their interest, which they might decides to either read in full immediately or later. If, they find none that's of interest to them, they leave immediately without considering returning to your blog in the future, except if you have some other contents (banners, pictures, videos..etc) that caught their attention.
Many of these people, usually arrived at your blog in the middle of other activities, so they may have very little time to dig deep into your blog. This means that; your best bet of making an impression (which will guarantee their returning to your blog) on them, is your blog's front page.

Why expandable post?
Since you can simply display the 10 or more posts on the front page without the stress of adding the expandable post feature! Yes you can but that will give you a very long front page which might irritate some "if not all" of your visitors and readers, it may also get your front page looking a bit awkward.

Unfortunately, blogger does not have this feature as part of the default customization, but there are many hacks around that you can execute to add the "read more" feature to your blogger blog, there's even a guide on blogger's own help center on how to add this feature. Let's hope that blogger will find a way to also provide this feature as a default customization feature for it's user very soon (watch out for a post on this). Luckily for Wordpress user, the expandable post is a default feature.

For instance, a situation where a person arrived at your blog while searching for an information that is probably in your much more previous post. Now, you have written series of post after that particular post and you only have your last post on your blog's front page, which of course is not relevant to what he/she is searching for. The likelihood of he/she digging deep into your previous posts is very narrow, most of such people will simply close your blog and move on with their search and may not even consider returning to your blog in the future.

However, if you have an expandable post feature in place, where you displayed teasers to your last 10 or more posts with links to the full posts, you can be sure that not only will the reader immediately find what he/she is looking for but, some others of your post to might caught his interest while scanning through your blog, right there on the front page without having to dig so deep into your blog.

Don't let this discourage you as a blogger user, the benefits of this feature is more than what it would take, for you to get it added to your blog. You can just type "expandable post" in google search to find some resources on how to easily go about it.

After having a shot at the invaluable advantages of the Entrecard System, I thought I should talk about it here on my blog for the benefit of those who are still missing out.

Why do I feel this is important?

Well, I'm sure if I had come across an article of this nature, talking about the basics of the entrecard network, I'd have joined long before the time I did, and by now my success rate would be higher than now.

When I started coming across the entrecard widget on some blogs, I thought it was one of the usual banner ads and so I didn't bother to check it out. But then, my attitude of always wanting to try new things every now and then, finally catapulted me into the entrecard network and it has been a wonderful experience so far.

Private Label Right “PLR” is currently generating a lot of buzz on Internet, so why all the buzz?

Before, I proceed any further let me take care of the basics like I always do, for those of my readers that are new to this.

So, the question is “What is Private Label Right?”

Private Label Right is a privilege/right that is given to the beneficiaries or buyers of a product; tangible or intangible, by the author, manufacturer or copyright owner, which gives them the legal and moral license /rights to do certain things with the product; like editing, re-branding, duplicating...etc.

Basically, PLR can be applied to any type of product whatsoever. But, looking at it from the context of Internet Marketing where it is currently generating lot of buzz, we can say the major types of products that PLR applies to are; articles, e-books, software, site/blog template, logos and graphics

What Does This Mean?

It simply means that you have the rights to do anything that you like with a PLR product. For instance, if you buy a PLR e-book, you can re-brand it (change the name, cut it into pieces, make it your own, etc.) and make it your own then sell it (since most PLR also comes with resell rights) and keep 100% of the profit.

Google Search Performance with Google Webmaster Tools

The Importance of monitoring and analyzing the Search Engine Performance (SEP) of your blog and website cannot be over emphasized, if you are a blogger/webmaster who is really serious about the blog that you author or website that you manage. Why? Because the better your site performs in the Search Engines the more success it will experience.

It is imperative that you known how your site is performing in the SERP (Search Engine Result Pages) and know the “keywords” that you are ranking higher for. This will enable you to optimize your site better for those keywords so as to solidify and improve your good SERPs (Search Engine Ranking Positions) for those keywords.

One of the great ways to do this is using Google Webmaster Tools. I can tell you that using Google Webmaster is relatively an easy way to do this and you don’t have to pay or buy anything for that matter. This allow you to monitor and analyze how your site is performing in Google’s own Search Engine

It’s a fact that Google currently owns the best Search Engine; Google Search. Then, it means that your Google Search Position is not something to joke with and if this is true then, it might then be save to say Google Webmaster Tools is a must for every webmasters and bloggers alike

Anyway, let me not talk to much, come along let me show you how you can use Google Webmaster Tools to monitor your site performance in Google Search Result Pages.

Once your site has been verified, you are good to go. Note that it will take some days before you start seeing the stats; depending on how often Google visits and Crawl your site.

Now, login to your Google webmaster account and from your dashboard click “Manage” (if you have added more than one site you have to click the check box for which of them you want to work with) or just simply click on the displayed url of the site.

Next, click on “Statistics” to see the options under it.

You should see “Top Search Queries” click on it to bring up the result for the search terms for which your site was displayed in Google Search for the last 1 week, you can filter the results to 2 week ago, 3 weeks ago and even by month to show more results. The info are updated every now and then to include recent results, if you like keep records of this download the data unsing the options "Download Data" and "Download all query stats for this site (including subfolders)" located at the bottom of the results.

As you might have noticed, you can also get other very important information about you site using Google Webmaster, for instance, you can view your backlinks, how Google crawl your site, problem Google bot encountered while crawling your site and many more information that would help you a great deal in optimizing your site, mainly for Google Search and partly for other Search Engines.

Today, I want to talk about a very easy and popular free way of getting backlinks that very many people know about but very few people take advantage of, I’m sure you will be wondering how come many people known about it and very few are taking advantage of it. Well, it’s very simple and that is because not many people see its viability in bring great and quality backlinks to their site, while other that do, don’t know the way to get the best out of it.

So, what am I talking about, you might want to ask. COMMENTS! Yes! Blog Commenting.

You can get many quality free backlinks to your site by making comments on other peoples’ blogs (especially those related to your site), I know this might not sound new to you ‘cause you probably are aware of it already, but there’s more to this that you need to know and I’m sure you might not have heard or come across it somewhere else. Before, I reveal the secret to you, why don’t we take some few minutes to remind ourselves of the ethics of blog commenting.

Firstly, read or at least scan the post you will be commenting on. If there are other comments already post there, scan them too. Then simply write your opinion on everything. It may be a response to another comment, your view on the topic or reference to related resources that you know other reader will benefit from. Post a comment only if you have something of value to add to the discussion and not just to get backlinks. Read the comments which are already posted by others and follow suite.

Those may get your comment rejected and flagged as spam. Provide something valuable to the blog owner and readers, that way your comment will be approved and posted. You might even receive one or two compliment from the blog owner or other readers if your comment is very valuable, which can be a great boost to your stats.

You can also take advantage of posts or comments that are questions. If the post is talking about a product or service, give an honest review and offer a better alternative. Or, perhaps someone comments on the post with where to find so and so, you could quote the question and reply by offering a resource and explain why you are recommending it.

Last Word

Sometimes, I wonder how come words wouldn’t allow you to finished what you are trying to say before the whole pages is filled up, other time I wish writing were like speaking but then, that’s just the way it. On a second thought I realize the secret I want to share with on how to get the best out of blog commenting is one that requires a post on its own, ‘cause I’ll have to put up some screenshots.

Welcome to the part three of this post, please read the part one and part two if you arrived here first.

In this part I’ll go straight to business without wasting much time and I’m doing that by introducing you to yet another great site you can use to get backlinks, which I’ll like you to take advantage of also. So, here we go:

Zimbio is another great site that you can use to get backlink to your site; it’s a social network/media site where you post your stories, write-ups and article. The following are some of the feature of Zimbio.

One of the outstanding thing about Zimbio is that it has a feature that allow you to import your articles directly from your blog contents, all you have to do is add your blog and you can immediately ping your blog to extract any article you want to add as wikizine (articles/write-up are know as ‘wikizine’ on Zimbio) to your articles there.

Your wikizines also has backlinks that are Search Engine friendly, these are easily picked up by the Search Engines and each post will include a link back to your site. Even better, select "Promote My Blog" and they'll automatically post your articles to related wikizines. This is another great thing, which means that even if you have not yet added them as wikizine manually, they will still be detected as long as Zimbio is able to ping your blog.

You needn’t have to go through the process of adding your new blog post manually every time you make a new post on your blog, just ping your blog from there and your new post will be detected and you will have an option to add it there as wikizine. This also applies to any of your blog post that has not yet been added as wikizine. When you ping your blog, they will also show up with the option to add them too.

Please, be aware that Zimbio has many other features, uses and advantages but, I’m particular about the aspect that earn you backlinks, since that is the area of concentration of the post.

As usual, I’m sure you need the proof to back this all up. Well, that shouldn’t be a problem as you should already know how to do that by now, using the same command I gave you in the part two of this post on Qassia. I have not done much work on Zimbio yet, so you would only see one or two result as my backlinks from Zimbio

As a reminder, we have been talking about getting backlinks and this part is about using the Zimbio site. It’s relatively easy to knowing your ways around there, so I’ll leave the how to for now, while I hope to do justice to that in subsequent post.

Hello, nice to have you back here, I hope you find the first part of this post useful as an introduction to the great idea I’ll be sharing with you via this post on getting free and quality backlinks

Over the next few days, I’ll be sharing with you the great ways and services that you can use to get free quality one way backlinks, which I know works and I’m sure will work for you also.

Therefore, today I want to start by introducing you to Qassia. Hey! let me break it down for you, so please stay attentive, ok?

Qassia is a relatively new site and it was running a beta test when I discovered the site but currently it’s in a private beta state, which means you can not join directly from the site anymore “at least for now”, except through a referrer, not to worry though just feel free to use my link to join.

Qassia is like an article directory where you submit your article and get a backlink to your site/blog; I hope you know how to use article submission to get one way backlinks.

How and why is Qassia different from other article directory? In a whole lot of great and advantageous ways.

You can integrate your adsense account with your qassia account and make more money from there directly to your adsense account. There’s no limitation to this, just add your adsense id and your ads will start showing immediately. Backlinks are simply indispensable to the success of a blog/website. It is now a confirmed fact that for your blog/site to perform very well, you need to optimize it to better rank in Search Engines (SE’s), because that’s where the quality free traffic is. And what get you to rank well is SE’s? Simply put; SEO -Search Engine Optimization. If you don’t know what that is, click here to go read my previous post on Search Engine Optimization.

SEO is divided into on-page and off-page optimization, but the most important is off-page optimization because that is what actually gets your blog/site to rank high in the SE’s

So then, what is offpage optimization? Off-page optimization simply means getting quality backlinks, period. All, other things here are peripherals that hardly suffice; the core of off-page optimization is backlink. Oh! Before I forget, if backlink sounds unclear to you please click to read my previous post on backlink.

Backlink can also can be classified into external and internal links; each of these can also be subdivided into one way links and reciprocal links.

External Links – these are links pointing to your blog/webpage from other sites outside your website or domain

Internal Links – these are links pointing from a page on your website (on your domain) to another page on your website.

One Way Links – these are links pointing to your blog/webpage from sources you are not linking back to.

Reciprocal Links – these are links that points to your webpage/blog where you also link back to the link source webpage/blog. This usually applies to link exchange where bloggers/webmasters trade or exchange links with each other.

You may also come across terms like Incoming link: your backlink and Outgoing link: links from your webpage to other webpage

Now, out of all these “External One Way Links” are the most important backlinks and they are the ones that get you ranking #1-10 in the SERP’s (Search Engine Result Pages). This is where I’m actually heading with this post; I have taken the time to shed more light on this in order to reach out to those of my readers that might not be too informed on this.

I’m sure a second look at the heading of this post will want to make it look irrelevant cause it has actually not say how to get the free backlinks my own promised by the heading..Oh! Yes, I know, I’m only trying to be fair to those other readers that might not be as informed as you and me on this matter and that’s why I tagged this as part one. I also want to be careful not to bore you with a lengthy post on this, if do that I might get you lost along the line. Internet Money Making? - Candid Advice

First of all, please be aware that that none of the legitimate means of making money on the internet is a get rich quick kind of thing; you must be ready to put in much hard work which will take time, effort and energy. Making real money on the internet is not a mystery either; anyone can do it with enough patience, persistence and hard work. Don’t go into anything just because all your friends are into it, you need to make proper research and assessment of your own and be convinced.

I want you to also know that virtually all internet money making systems, programs, and products use a referral system which allow members to make money by referring others to join in, therefore, you’ll get quite a number of such invitation. But, don’t always take all such invitation for what it says; examine it properly before jumping in or you’ll end up disappointed and discouraged. Since your referrer makes money when you join under him, chance are he/she is all about the commission he/she will get and not considering if your joining the program will actually be easily beneficial to you as it is portrayed in the adverts.

For instance, you could receive an invitation to join an HYIP program from a friend who has never invested a dime in the program himself/herself (cause of the risk) if you are fooled by such and invest your money there, he/she will get some percentage of your investment as a commission instantly and whatever happens to your investment is not much of his/her headache. Hmm! Sounds amusing right? But the fact is many still fall for it and end up losing their money. Never trust anyone who promises to make you rich! It does not work that way! Only you can make yourself rich. With a good education, solid information, a bit of wisdom, patience, insight and a willingness to take action, yes "Bold Action and Actions!". I believe almost any one can accumulate substantial wealth. But you do not get there by just following a Guru, or by being lazy. You get rich by earning it.

Google AdSense is no doubt one of the most viable and widely use means of internet money making. Varieties of Books, E-books and articles have been written on the same by quite a whole lot of authors/writers around the world, most of which though approaching the subject from different angle are still solely based on making money with Google Adsense.

Don’t be deceived you can do-it-yourself; all you need is some creativity. It’s best to learn how to mine the Gold yourself than letting someone do the mining for you.

For you to success, you must take Adsense as business, not leisure or past time activity

Blog Status Update

Compliments of the day to you and all my readers out there. Today, a thought flash through my mind and I decided to act on it right away. I see that I have not been carrying my readers along as regards the status, improvement and success of this blog. Please know that I was not taking you all for granted (far from that). It's just that while trying to search and research for quality information to share with you "that will be of great value to you", some other thing naturally skipped my mind.

Anyway, as from now I promise to keep you updated as to the status of this blog from time to time; both the achivements and the chalenges. Afterall, this blog will be of none effect without you all (my loyal readers)

Archivements:

This blog is currently ranked the 5th, 8th and 9th position for 3 different keywords that are being competed for by 740 000, 3 330 000 and 24 000 000 sites respectively as of today 11th June 2008, the blog has been able to able achive this in it's less than 3 months old period.
Comments on this blog has been optimized to "DoFollow". What dost this mean?. We all know that comments on blogger blogs are set to "NoFollow" by default, which prevents the Search Engines from crawling the links in those comments for indexing. Glad to inform you that comments on this blog are now "DoFollow", which means Search Engines now follow and index the links in your comments on this blog. So, don't forget to post your comments on any of the post in this blog, they serve as a link back to your blog/site.

Improvements:

If you noticed you'll see that I have been playing working on the design template for a while now. Finally, I can say I have a design that I'm comfortable with for now. Meanwhile, I keep inproving on that. Please know that your comment is higly solicited

What Is “The Digg Effect”

Have you heard of that before? If you have not, then you just did. Which ever way, please stay attentive while I break it down.

What Is Digg?

Digg is a Social Bookmarking site where people post link to “stories” they like or feel is hot and then allow other users to vote for the stories by “Digging” the stories. This is actually a good thing because it allows webmasters to post more than one link to their site(s) from the same account. The Digg site has a “hot list” on the hompage which is governed by how many people click and “Digg” the stories.

The Digg Effect

Digg has huge user base with thousands of hits everyday, it’s also in the top 1000 visited sites according to the Alexa ranking and it’s growing all the time. Therefore, it’s known to pass so many visitors onto a popular site within 24 hours of the site becoming popular.

That is to say, your site can receive above 10, 000 unique visits within the very first 24 hours that your site become popular and listed in the 'hot list' on the Digg homepage which could really put great strain on your hosting account. This has been know to cause a server “meltdown” or crash and this is what some bright dudes coined as “The Digg Effect”

I found out that even some blogger have had to close down their site for some couple of days simply because the popularity of their site exploded their bandwidth usage and almost blew up the server. Where as, the higher percentage of traffic gained is actually “passive” such that user actually go to your site, take a quick look around and go away again without benefiting you so much.

This means many of them wont click your ads or sing up for the programs you are promoting, many wont even stay for 10 seconds, "digg members are mainly users looking around for latest news and happenings"……..but at the end of the day, all the unique visitors add up and at the end of the traffic explosion what you are left with is the “The Digg Effect”

Let me conclude by saying, despite of the above, Digg is a very effective way to promote and get your site contents out to the world if you are more particular about building traffic, getting loyal visitors and getting popularity for your contents (that is not too particular about making so much money from the traffic). I'll talk more on this in a subsequent post

What Is Web 2.0?

The remarkable innovation term ‘Web 2.0’ has brought about some great and amazing dimensions to the way activities are currently conducted on the Internet. Hence, Web 2.0 companies are springing up all over the Web everyday and a whole lot of them are generating huge buzz and excitement with large revenue and even much more interest from large corporations.

I’m sure you know by now, that Web 2.0 is one of the most talked about phenomenon on the Internet right now. But, I recently discovered that not too many Internet users truly or rightly understand what Web 2.0 basically means. So, today I want to share with you the basics of this great innovation.

Hey! Wait a minute. What is Web 2.0?

Contrary to many beliefs or what you personally might think, web 2.0 is not actually a new version of the Web/Internet. It’s simply a term coined and used to refer to the new trends in Internet Sites, Services, and Technologies.

Ok! Let me throw more light on that. A few years back, some brilliant dudes in the Internet world went and made some totally revolutionary Websites, packed with many new and cutting-edge technologies, so much different that they could not be branded with the old Websites around and this was why the term Web 2.0 was coined by Tim O’ Reilly to distinguish those new sites from others.

What’s New?

These new generation sites have brought a pretty new aspect to the web, the effects of which is easily noticeable all over the Internet now, as most of the biggest and highly successful sites on the web today are Web 2.0 sites, so what’s the idea?

Simple! The core of this new innovation is Social Interaction and User Generated Contents. In essence, if you examine some of the biggest sites currently on the Internet; Facebook, Myspace, Wikipedia, Technorati, Digg, etc. You’ll discover all these are highly successful Web 2.0 sites which totally rely on their user base to create 80% to 99% of the sites’ contents.

Therefore, as you might have discovered, the core of these sites is their users and visitors, without them the sites would almost be empty and no one would even want to visit them.

The Subset of Web 2.0

With the advent of web 2.0, more and more innovative and creative sites are coming online, all of which take on the new technology hand in hand and those I called the subsets of Web 2.0. Below are some of them;

Social Networks – Myspace, Facebook, Mylot, etc.

Social Bookmarking – Del.icio.us, Digg, Technorati, StumbleUpon, etc.

User Generated Societies – Wikipedia, Squidoo, Hubpages, etc.

These are just but a few, there are more and even still more coming everyday, but permit me to limit the list here to these few due to space constraint
